My husband and I have been coming here regularly the past 8/9 month. All the staff are amazing. The food and drinks are great. The burger here is really good and the full irish breakfast is also great hit. It's a busy fun place after work or on the weekends it's a little more chill usually. There's a DJ there some days also. But what makes this bar special are the staff. Bigshoutout to Mark the manager who goes above and beyond to make your experience supersede your expectations. Paula has become one of our favorite bartenders. She is so pleasant and helpful with food and drinks suggestions. She's also very creative with making some tasty cocktails if you want to try something different. All the barstaff here are great and always super friendly. We came this weekend both Saturday and Sunday for the World Cup games and it was so packed but these guys nailed it. They are so super human machines!!! read more

I had the worst experience ever at that bar! I paid 50 dollars for an average burger and a drink, then the worst host ever, who apparently thinks of himself as a bouncer, was extremely rude from the first minute I had an encounter with him, and then went on to ruin watching the end of the world cup final, for me and a bunch of other people, by making a scene then calling the cops into the garden area! Another person who introduced himself as the owner (I don't think it's true) said "I didn't see you get food or drinks here"-which was not true, and he did not even bother to talk to me as a customer and asks what the problem was! In almost 20 years of experiencing restaurants and bars in NYC from fine dinning at Delmonico's and Nobu to food trucks and cheap beer gardens all over, I have never experienced such rude and cruel treatment, and inability to let people enjoy the final minutes of the world cup. Had there been a law against rude hosts, those guys would have been banned from the hospitality business! read more

After a concert at Hudson Yards, we came by here as a group of 6 with reservations. This was a great spot to watch the NBA finals as it wasn't overly crowded. Our group ordered a variety of dishes to share. We had the Buffalo Wing ($15), Espresso Wings ($15), Irish Nachos ($15), Short Rib Pie ($34), Fish & Chips ($30), Irish Spice Bag ($26), Onion Rings ($10), and a Cookie Skillet ($13) for dessert. It was nice of them to make onion rings for us even though it wasn't on the menu. I have to note that their menu has changed a bit, so we didn't find some items we've seen in past reviews. Anyways, the food came out pretty quick. Everything was delicious although the entrees were a bit pricey. A part of me wants to not even write a review to keep this a hidden gem....but they deserve the 5 stars!! We were able to reserve a table here to watch one of the Knicks finals game (which as you know is extremely hard to come by for a large party let alone, the day before). Came for food and drinks at the bar area with a group of 5, arriving just before rush hour. The bar area got busy fast, which made it tough to flag down bartenders for more rounds. We wanted to sit outside to enjoy the greenery, but it was way too windy that day so we headed inside. High tops were scarce and bar stools were hard to come by, so finding a spot to settle in took some effort. Food wise, fish & chips, pizza, and burger were all tasty. The host and staff were genuinely friendly throughout! Great energy all around. One thing I'd flag: several wine glasses had white stains on the rims. I did notice staff wiping them down, so they were trying, but they all still came out less than spotless. really wanted to give this place 5 stars. But there's one thing that really kept me from doing that. We walked in, got a table right away, and were told that they did not have any fish & chips (the main reason why we decided to come here in the first place). There was another item that they were sold out, but it escapes me at the time. It just felt like a place that is an upscale British pub, to be out of fish and chips is inexcusable. With that said, I pivoted and got the special which was a full English breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. And the portion size was massive! We also got the Irish soda bread to start and it was so delicious. I will admit that while I was not able to get what I wanted, I was able to get a meal that was absolutely amazing. However, I also know that the full English was a special and won't always be an option. The staff was very friendly. They did a great job of taking care of us and leaving us alone to enjoy our meals/conversations. The restaurant was also not too crowded which was a treat. I could see this place getting packed and, if it was, being very loud which would detract from the experience. So, while our meal got off to a rocky/disappointing start, we ended up having a delicious meal. We would definitely come back. We stopped in here while visiting Hudson Yards on Labor Day (Sunday, 9/1) at approximately 3:30 PM, looking for a spot to catch the US Open match between Naomi Osaka & Coco Gauff. At first glance, the place seemed promising--TVs, bar atmosphere, decent menu. We asked the host if we could be seated somewhere with a clear view of a TV showing the match, and he accommodated us. After being seated, we saw a busboy wiping down a nearby table and asked him--very politely--if he could confirm that the TVs we were facing were tuned to the US Open. He didn't speak much English but seemed to understand and walked off to pass along the request. Moments later, an older white woman who appeared to be the manager leaned her head around the corner and rudely barked across the dining area, "PLEASE DO NOT TURN THE TV!" Her tone was loud, confrontational, and completely out of line--especially considering we never touched any TV or even had the ability to do so. The TVs were mounted high on the wall and there were no remotes anywhere near us. When we tried to respond and clarify what we had actually said to the busboy, the manager immediately ran to the back kitchen area and never returned. She refused to speak with us face to face or attempt to resolve the situation like a professional. Ironically, it turned out that the TVs were tuned to the US Open already--the match was just on a commercial break. So not only was she completely wrong in her assumption, but her aggressive attitude and cowardly retreat made the entire encounter worse. This was a disgusting display of customer service. We hadn't even ordered yet, and the experience was so off-putting that we simply walked out. If management is reading this and cares at all about the guest experience, we strongly encourage you to look into who was managing the floor around 3:30 PM on 9/1 and have a serious conversation with this woman. Her behavior reflects terribly on your business. We won't be returning--and we'll be warning others to stay away. read more

Originally, our plan was to hit the beach, but a recent bout of the 'rona scrambled that idea. Instead, we took a stroll along the High Line and ended up exiting right by O'Toole's Way. If not for Yelp search directing us here on a recommendation for "outdoor dining," we probably never would have dropped in. This venue is pretty tucked away. We'd lucked into some temperate weather after several weeks of heat waves, so the tree-shaded outdoor seating was the perfect spot to enjoy a post-walk repast. Shoutout to our server, Gabriella, who totally matched our vibe on this particular sunny Friday afternoon. She's one of those front-of-house staff that's entirely present when she's with you -- engaged, attentive, and casually quippy. And she's also magically unobtrusive when it's obvious you have everything you need. While we were ordering, we had some pretty specific requests (i.e., can the kitchen pre-split our sandwich? extra sharing plate). Not only did she rattle off our order precisely, but also called out the additional details... and then actually delivered everything we asked for. Flawless. The cobb was one of the better traditional renditions we've had in awhile. The lobster BLT was tasty and satisfying, but not particularly noteworthy, considering the many truly spectacular lobster sandwiches that abound in the northeastern states. However, the fries were absolutely smashing. I can't begin to comprehend what prep resulted in these tantalizing taters, but they were -everything-: crispy on the outside, fluffy and starchy on the inside, and -- most astoundingly -- maintained their texture even after they cooled. There's some super secret spud sorcery at work here, and you can't convince me otherwise. Noteworthy service, all-around fine food, and a pleasant patio to enjoy an al fresco meal round out O'Toole's Way as a better-than-mediocre sports bar. read more

O'Toole's is an excellent addition to Hudson Yards and one that was needed in this area. You'll have a hard time choosing what items you'd like to try as they are all tempting. I decided to order the buffalo chicken wings. They were perfectly cooked. You get the option between buffalo wing or BBQ sauce. The chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful and even more impressive was the fact that the chicken was fully cooked. It is so rare to find a restaurant kitchen that knows how to fully cook chicken so you don't end up with food poisoning. I didn't see any blood in the chicken like I normally do. Several weeks ago I went to a restaurant - It was dark and unfortunately I didn't realize I was eating raw chicken. I'll be coming to O'Tooles more often for their chicken dishes (chicken pot pie, brick chicken, etc). If you're a sports fan like I am (especially soccer) then you'll love the screens they have on the walls. You won't miss a beat when the playoffs are on. If you're looking for a pub type feelwith a mix of upscale steak house atmosphere, I think this is a good mix. It's actually the perfect mix. read more

Came here with 3 old college buddies for dinner prior to Knicks game. Lively atmosphere, classic Irish pub vibe. Seated immediately and drinks brought promptly. Two of us had burgers which were very good, one had the full Irish breakfast, also good. Unfortunately I ordered the short rib cottage pie, which in an Irish pub, I expected it to be good as well. First 2-3 bites were great, tender beef and vegetables, but it went downhill from there. Roughly half the meat chunks were inedible, total fat and gristle, with the consistency of warm pencil erasers. I hope that it was just a fluke, but if I go back I will stick with the burgers. They've opened up a rooftop lounge area recently and it's perfect t for hanging with co-workers, grabbing a bite with friends, or grabbing drinks with bae. . The waiters and bartenders were super knowledgeable and accommodating. I can definitely see myself coming here after work for drinks (my fave: BOOTLEGGER ghost tequila / cazadores silver / hibiscus / rockey's botanical / lime / rose salt ) and the short rib fries. They now offer #Brunch (started in May) and I suggest the HANGOVER SHORT RIB COTTAGE PIE or any one of the Irish breads. read more

Love this neighborhood pub. We come here probably once every 1-2 weeks for dinner. We enjoy the kale caesar salad (which comes with very fresh cheese and decent salmon), lobster BLT, burger, and the mussels. They play great music (usually a live DJ) but it is pretty loud as a heads up. Service has gotten much better than the first few times we came here. Will definitely continue coming here! read more

Dang! We were trying to find a place before we went to the ledge observatory. My husband found O'Toole's and we were far from disappointed. Happy that we are able to review so early in their game. The drinks were delicious and the service was incredible. Nicole was our waitress and she was super sweet. I noted on the reservation that we had a birthday and there were birthday notes waiting on the table for us. We ordered the dirty fries to start and let me tell you...order two of them. They are by far the best dish on the menu. The short rib was like butter and the flavor was to die for. My god. Got a burger and it was also delicious. We got a couple of pizzas and they were great. Overall, very very good food, friendly staff, good drinks and a good looking restaurant. Where do I start? My bananas Foster French toast was both under and overcooked. The center was cold and wet and the edges were almost crisp. The bananas tasted like plantains. There was very little whipped cream and almost no flavoring of any kind. I tasted neither bananas nor bananas Foster. Three of the four orders at our table sat in the pass for far too long before they arrived at our table, and the only reason they did is because we asked what was taking so long for the food.. But even worse was the terrible service. Our waiter took our order and then we never saw him again until right before we left. For long periods of time we had no water, no coffee refills, and no one came by to ask us how our food was. (It was not that busy.) At one point, we asked one of the guys for more water and he brought one glass for one person instead of bringing water for everybody. Our finished plates sat in front of us for about 20 minutes and were still sitting there when we left. The people who work here obviously have no training on how to actually provide service. It's like they were afraid to actually provide service to our table. The only thing I liked about this place was that the coffee was good and came in a big mug. Staff was super friendly and I loved that they sat my mom and I in the corner booth so we both had cushy seats. The restaurant was pretty quiet around noon on a Monday which I also loved so I could really talk/listen. My Cobb salad was really good - so good that I tried to recreate it the next day, unsuccessfully lol. My mom got a chicken sandwich which looked so good. Missing was the real flavor of horseradish, Irish cheddar (in fact I tasted none at all on today's sandwich), and a slather of caramelized onions. While it still satisfied to some extent, nowhere near as when it's truly done right. So I am disappointed. For $49 it ought to be impeccable. Paltry. Ambiance is exactly the same mid afternoon. Quiet and pleasant, decently quiet. HOWEVER- I had one big fly and one small fly hovering and pestering throughout my meal. That is absolutely not excusable, as both speak to health violations. We went here for St. Patrick's day and had a blast! I guess technically the day before St. Patrick's day but there was a great atmosphere all around. There was a singer playing Irish songs and a split the G Guinness competition. Our waiter Fin was as fin-tastic and there was a pretty wide range of real Irish drinks and food. Great, atmosphere, food & amazing service!!! (Despite a small hiccup out of their control.) My family and I stopped at O'Toole's Way for an early dinner after some shopping. The hostess (forgot her name) was very welcoming and we sat outside, as it was a cool summer day. Our server Delilah came to give us water and her us started. Unfortunately a very intoxicated young man,who was at the bar inside, came outside right behind us and vomited. The manager Kelly McGee, Delilah & and few other staff members immediately ran out to help us move and clean everything up and check on us! They moved us across to another table, apologized profusely and thanked us for being so understanding as they tried to clean everything and make sure we were all okay. Kelly, came back over after we were settled at our new table and the young man and his girlfriend were gone. She checked on us several times , as did Delilah our server and another staff member (I did not get his name). Kelly and Delilah were amazing and even comped our drinks and desserts for my family. Despite a little rough start, our meal turned out amazing! All the drinks were good and the food was delicious! We had the Lobster BLT, Steak Frites, Chicken Pot Pie & Proper Fish & Chips. For dessert we had the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet and Key Lime Pie. The portions were pretty big and everything was very flavorful and well cooked. A charming and tastefully decorated restaurant tucked away. I'm so glad we found it and will definitely go back next time I'm in the neighborhood. We were seated right away and greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable waiter. We all shared wings that were delicious. My son ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which was spicy and sweet. Again, delicious. My husband and I both had burgers which were very good as well. The French fries were hand cut and perfect. The wine I chose was one of the better offering by the glass that you would normally find. My husband had a tequila drink that had hibiscus in it that I was amazing.
