All the baristas at this location are very friendly! We all had the missile, which is a little sweet for my taste but still enjoyed it. The breakfast sandwich was big and the bacon was crunchy, it was large enough for 2 of us to split. Really enjoy visiting this location. First the coffee, today was the first time I tried their Jamaica cascara, which was rather tarty and refreshing. Cascara, correct me if I'm wrong," is the Spanish word meaning "pulp of the coffee cherry." It's processed into a syrup. Pretty nice and slightly caffeinated. For any sweet tooth, tried the missile, which is an ice coffee with cream and sweetened with vanilla. It's on the sweet side. They also have a good affogato for ice cream lovers drizzled with an espresso shot. Besides the coffee shop being nice, the location is literally beside the beach. So a lot of browsing and shopping. Plus, the shop is on the edge of a beautiful plaza with a very nice quad area. It has a lot of public seating and tables. Even if there is no room to sit around the coffee shop, you still got plenty of spots there! read more

Have now visited here a handful of times, so it is time to review. Located in the metlox shopping plaza (I think Lemonade use to be in this spot). The coffee is 5 stars. Spouse kept coming back for more. I've tried their cappuccinos and seasonal specialty lattes. My last visit, it was the gingerbread latte with gingerbread cookie bits sprinkled on top. Yum. Their coffee is spot on and I appreciate that they don't add syrups or sugars to their lattes. They do offer some baked goods and other food items in the refrigerator. But I haven't tried them. The seating is limited, so I grab my drinks to go. A better alternative to the Starbucks a block away. read more

I've been to many Verve locations and finally stopped in the Manhattan Beach location. They have a selection of pastries and other foods but having already had breakfast, I popped in for my favorite drink of theirs, the Gibraltar. It did not disappoint! The baristas really know what they're doing and everyone that works in there seems friendly enough. It's not a huge shop, however, there's plenty of outdoor seating and inside there's a long table against the window where people can sit facing outward. There's also a little high top counter in the middle where you can wait for your drink or enjoy your drink. Stop by and enjoy some good coffee :) read more

All my experiences at Verve was pleasant including this Manhattan Beach location. Although it was the smallest Verve I have been to the baristas were super quick with my order and my coffee was perfectly made, so no complaints there. I had a seasonal drink which I don't quite remember the name of but it was black sesame flavored, and it was so good. The perfect level of creaminess and sweetness, but not taking away from their delicious coffee. Try it before its gone! There is plenty of outdoor seating since it is connected to this outdoor shopping mall so it is really nice to catch up with some friends or go on a coffee date. You can find plenty of parking nearby in parking garages or meter parking. read more

I went to the Verve in Manhattan Beach for the first time, and was very disappointed. I ordered a large coffee, and the size could be more accurately described as a small to medium. I was willing to live with that if the quality of the coffee was good, but it wasn't; in addition, at the bottom of the cup I saw coffee sludge--not good. Lastly, the person who served me showed no interest in what he was doing, or how he interacted with customers. I will not be back. read more

The cafe de olla is good. Keeps me happy lol and the palm sugar is good as well if you want a more milk tasting drink which i love oat milk so i dont mind it one bit. It's in the corner and you might have difficulty finding parking on the weekend but during the weekday there is street parking and parking in the structure on the next street right by it. read more

It was my first time in the area so I decided to stop in while passing by. The decor is simple yet beautiful. The windows allow for a good amount of sunlight to reach the whole front of the shop. The workers were kind, knowledgeable and friendly. We had so many questions on flavors and they were happy to answer. They offer taste tests of some if not all of their lattes. We ended up getting the Cafe De Olla, vanilla latte and a mocha. I didn't get a picture of the mocha but we all loved the drinks. We will be coming back next time we're in town. If I could give no stars, I would. This place came highly recommended so I was super excited to try it out. Not only was the drink too milky and not filled all the way, but the customer service was unreal. The lady who made my drink rolled her eyes and said snarky remarks. This will be our new spot for coffee when in Manhattan Beach. Located in a plaza full of restaurants and a few shops it's the perfect place for a coffee stop. I came here on a Sunday, a little before 11 and there was a line out the door. Luckily, the line moved quickly because by the time I parked (I found parking with 49 minutes left in the meter) and walked over to this place, I was able to walk inside and there was only one person ahead of me. I love this area so much but I don't love the parking situation. I got lucky today but usually I have to circle a few times. It was crowded but it was a beautiful day and it was a Sunday. I feel like this area is always bustling so, I don't know why I was so surprised. I know there's a chain of this place but this is the most convenient to my location and wow, I had an amazing iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Definitely worth $7.00. I have been wanting to try the coffee here and I'm happy I finally did. All in all, the wait time wasn't too bad especially given the amount of people. read more

Yesss Verve! My husband got me into Verve Coffee when we visited the Santa Cruz location many moons ago. Our favorite seasonal offering is the whiskey syrup, but they don't get it every year like in SC. Service is always great, we usually order ahead. Perfect coffee spot before a strand walk. read more

Verve Coffee Roasters is one of the signature speciality coffee shops that Los Angeles has to offer. They are given mention in a specialty coffee magazine, called Drift, that has high regards for good coffee across the expansive Los Angeles county. I came here this morning for a good cappuccino and place to lounge for some readings as Saturday's are my time of rest and rejuvenation for the week ahead. The cappuccino was splendid, with a great taste of the beans that Verve roasts in small batches, while also having the steamed whole-milk make the cappuccino quite smooth. Coffee shops can quite easily over-milk cappuccinos to hide sub-par beans, but Verve did not fall into this category. Their espresso was delicious, and the the quantity of steamed milk with the espresso was a good balance. Besides the cappuccino being almost $6 (I think any traditional cappuccino should be $4), and not having the nicest display of steamed milk (for those of you who love latte/cappuccino art), this is a place for some high quality coffee, at a more high-end price. read more

Everything is really good quality here . The shop itself is very clean , the service was with a smile which I can always appreciate / makes a difference. I got an iced oatmilk decaf vanilla latte - solid . It was 7.00 - personally I thought it was worth it :) the avocado toast was also delicious and came recommended . All in all it cost me about 18.00 including tip for a latte and toast . Won't be my everyday stop , but it's nice for a treat yourself day . Verve is a great coffee spot and MB actually needed a really good coffee place that wasn't a Peet's or Sbux. The line can get a little long but the handmade drinks are certainly worth it. They have really good food too and even coffee soft serve. Yea. you read that right. It's a small shop. No room to enjoy anything inside but there's outdoor benches and seating close by and you could take that coffee for a walk down to the pier too. Parking is the typical MB meters and structures. That will be a challenge during peak times but there's a few place on MB Blvd worth the trip and Verve is becoming one of them! Coffee is life! read more

Amazing coffee spot in MB! I tried it for the first time yesterday. I ordered an iced oat milk honey lavender latte- SO good! It was very refreshing and high quality coffee. It had the perfect amount of sweetness. It definitely gave me a mid day pick me up! We came back today to try the oat milk soft serve. I repeat OAT MILK SOFT SERVE!! I ordered the swirl one with the oat milk and mocha flavors. It had an amazingly soft consistency and tasted great. I want to come back again to try the coffee float with the soft serve in it... round 3 tomorrow? Update- Did come back to try the draft latte float and their breakfast. The service is so friendly here! The float was yummy! But I will say I prefer the iced latte and soft serve separately. The float surprised me as it is a small portion for about $6 (see photo). The vanilla mascarpone toast was delicious and sweet with a nice crunch from the cereal flakes! I would totally order it again. The breakfast sandwich had a soft brioche bun. I am in Manhattan Beach for a business meeting. I came by for a quick and "Easy" tea and snack. Wow, was I ever wrong. While they have a "Grab and Go" selection, I opted for Avocado Toast and an Iced Tea. Wonderful counter service and a very delicious meal. It's not how I would make it at home and I'm seriously glad. Victor was super nice. He made drip coffee just for me even though it was 4pm. Most coffee places won't serve drip after noon. Victor said he would give me it on the house since I would have to wait for him to make a new batch. But I offered to pay. So he gave me a second cup for free. That made my day. This is my second time coming here and both times I had a good experience. Great atmosphere and outside area, and a wide selection of drinks. Will come back soon! read more

I've been to my share of Verve's locations and this one in downtown Manhattan Beach continues to stand out! My wife and I have come by a couple times now and we loved taking our time enjoying the wide selection of drinks and eats in the relaxing outdoor patio. If you're looking for some breakfast to pair with your coffee, the food is absolutely worth trying. We were blown away by the avocado toast's flavors, freshness, and beautiful presentation...better than the vast majority of restaurant iterations we've tried! We also thoroughly enjoyed the egg + cheese sandwich largely reminiscent of Eggslut's (IYKYK). Among the drinks, we can vouch for any espresso drink, chai latte, and pour overs so far. Home brewers will also be able to pick up most anything they need including beans, filters, etc. read more

The milk was a bit too foamy and aerated, giving it more of a cappuccino or small flat white feel rather than the denser, more integrated texture I'd expect from a traditional cortado. There were also quite a few visible bubbles on the surface, and it lacked the glossy, velvety texture that really helps bring the espresso and milk together. It also wasn't served in a proper cortado-sized vessel, which contributed to the drink feeling further removed from a traditional cortado. Service during my visit was friendly and straightforward. I'm updating my review after unexpectedly meeting the owner at Coffee Fest Los Angeles. I introduced myself and mentioned that I was the person who had left this review, and he immediately knew exactly which review I was talking about. Rather than being defensive about the criticism, he told me they genuinely appreciated the review and the feedback. What I respected even more was hearing that they actually took the feedback back to the team. He told me they had a meeting about always doing their best to make sure each drink is served as well as possible, and that if a drink genuinely isn't right, they're willing to remake it. That interaction gave me a lot more respect for the business. It's easy to accept positive feedback, but being willing to listen to constructive criticism, discuss it with your team, and use it as an opportunity to improve says a lot about an owner and how much they care about what they're serving. That's the kind of owner I respect. After meeting him and having that conversation, I would absolutely return whenever I'm back in the area and give the cortado another try.

The shop was quiet, I don't even remember any music playing. Some whispers and light conversation. I would return if I had the urge for coffee and was already in the area.

If your allergic to dogs, please be aware that people will bring their animals in there and some can be aggressive.

Let me spill the beans -- or, should I say, let Mawm spill the cold brew -- because this place? It's pure pup-fection. First off, let's address the leash in the room: parking is a nightmare and the line? Longer than my last nap! But hooman, once you finally make it through -- oh boy oh boy, it's so worth it. Mawm said it's one of the smoothest cappuccinos she's ever had (and trust me, she's had a lot of cappuccinos). I didn't get a sip -- rude -- but I did inspect her plate, and judging by the croissant crumbs falling everywhere, these folks know how to pick their pastries. Now, let's talk about the outdoor seating -- because that's where we pups shine! The patio has a view that's chef's kiss (or should I say sniff's kiss?) and the atmosphere is pure LA: stylish, sunny, and full of friendly tail-waggers. Have always loved Verve & have been to their original Santa Cruz locations. Their design and branding are top-notch, and I love walking to this MB location. Their outdoor space, just blocks from the ocean is hard to beat. The team is usually pretty consistent, and it's a great spot to meet friends for a casual coffee experience. Parking is atrocious, especially now that the city has closed an adjacent lot. Not their fault, but if you're in a hurry, this might not be the ideal option! read more

Verve Coffee Roasters in Manhattan Beach is a great place for coffee lovers! We had a cappuccino with regular milk and an americano, and both were amazing. The cappuccino was creamy and full of rich flavor, while the americano was smooth and just right. The place has a cozy and lively vibe, perfect for enjoying good coffee.
