I really wanted to like this place! I love this concept. The food looked fresh and delicious when I walked in. But the shredded chicken and mac and cheese literally has no flavor. My friend ordered a different plate and also flavorless. Even with their sauces added. Small portion of meat but loaded up on the sides... like ? I'm not paying $16 for a bowl of primarily dry flavorless pasta. I'd rather go to chipotle. Disappointing for a place where the meal is also expensive for what you're getting... This was a great find! Parents wanted Olive Garden (bless their souls) so I was in a pinch to find ANY good alternative. Yelp steered me to Vessel. They were great at the counter. Offered me a couple protein samples to help figure out what I wanted. Ended up getting a shredded chicken over grains/rice with some spicy aoli on top. Had to get it to go so I didn't sit in the restaurant to eat but the ambience was clean and nice. Food was really good. Missing one star because it was pretty salty. Yeah, like really salty. The girl went to the back and five minutes later came back and said "the food is made from scratch" to which I replied that is not an answer to my question. then there was an awkward stare down and the question was left unanswered. would have loved to know the amswer but i guess it is a mystery. We tried a bunch of things (good+plenty, spicy beef sandwich, soups, salads, avocado toast, and a build your own plate which we did beef and quinoa.) Everything was SO good. Vessel kitchen is the perfect balance of quick food and healthy food. I have been to the cottonwood heights and Park City locations but I was lucky enough to make it to their grand opening in Sandy. They are doing it right. You can make your own plate full of incredibly tasty healthy choices or you can have a bowl they have created. They change their menu with the seasons. Ordered online with curb side pickup. Order was ready and pickup up in about 15 minutes. They have family feasts that are inexpensive a lot of food. We went with the beef which is really good and tender. The feast comes with three large side. We opted for the sweet potato hash, Brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. The food is good and fresh. It is not always warm, but it is definitely pricey. Most portions aren't huge, but you are paying quite a bit. Workers sometimes seem a bit lost and most haven't tried anything on the menu, which was frustrating when I was trying to ask questions. Make sure you tell them if it is to go or to stay or they will decide for themselves and not ask. All the silverware was dirty when we went and it looked like it had not been washed and just put straight out for people to take. read more

My original visit to VK was at the Fort Union location and I felt confused on the ordering process and disappointed with my selection. I really wanted to like VK I appreciate what they stand for so I gave the Sandy location a try on their grand opening weekend. The menu is a helpful guide to build your custom dish or choose from their pre-determined recipes. I went with the good + plenty bowl, chickpea stew and a classic root beer. Everything was delicious the beef was tender and tasty, the white bbq sauce complimented the dish really well. The only problem was the bowl was missing the brussel sprouts (see pic). Despite that mistake from the servers constructing the meal it was enjoyable. I will definitely return for more of this feel good food! read more

This place is right up my alley, and I LOVE that they have a place like this in Utah. They have so many really yummy/healthy options, makes eating out guilt free. They use really good quality ingredients, and if I'm not mistaken, they use locally sourced ingredients as well. I love how eco friendly it is, all utensils are reusable and they don't use plastic. I really appreciate when restaurants are considerate of their ecological foot print. I haven't ordered out, so I'm not sure what they do for packaging food to go.
