Could be Westerly's best pizza. Entrees and apps are all good. Got calamari to go the other night and some salads with grilled chicken and the calamari tin was packed with enough for 10 people. All their pizzas are great, NY size and crust. A little flop, thinner crust. Chicken parm, pasta dishes all good. Clean booths, also bar area, parking is ok. Bathrooms clean. read more

We go for takeout pizza. The pizza is good. My favorite is the white clam pizza. It is a bit dark inside so prefer to take out.

Our hostess and server was terrific. The food was excellent! This was our first time here but definitely not our last.

Vetrano's is our "go to" spot in westerly. the food is great. the portions are big and you won't leave hungry - you'll leave with a takeout box! I eat their pizzas for breakfast the next day. our bartender, Bob, was excellent. nice guy and took care of us! read more

I see all the good reviews, I must have been there on a bad day. We ordered Fried Calamari, they were no done all the way. Grinders, they did not have non seeded bread so we settled for Seeded and they were so Crisp, definitely overtoasted. Very disappointed :( read more

This local Italian restaurant in Westerly is a nice neighborhood gem. They start you with some great garlic bread with a nice oil dipping sauce...so good...nice, warm, garlicky, light.... We ordered a meatball grinder and some pizza. The meatball grinder was excellent. The pieces of meat were lightly breaded and well marinated. You can choose from a variety of breads like sesame, wheat, etc. The slices of pizza (Chicken ranch and cheese) had a nice crispy bottom and not too thin, not too thick, sort of like hand tossed. We were really looking forward to eating here and it was a huge disappointment. First of all it was freezing cold in the restaurant. So cold that we both had to put hoodies on. The restaurant was so noisy and so loud that even though we were sitting next to each other at the table we could barely hear each other talk. Onto the food and service. I understand they were very busy I understand it's difficult to get people to work in restaurants these days however the service was just way too slow. We both ordered a Caesar salad to split and we both ordered linguine and white clam sauce. It took almost 15 minutes for the Caesar salad to come out of the kitchen!! Our server apologized and I said OK that's fine provided the main course doesn't come out two minutes from now which of course it didn't. So linguine and white clam sauce came out, and it was as if the chef had poured a heaping tablespoon of red pepper flakes throughout the dish. It was so Spivey hot it was almost inedible. I cook I am not Ygnacia but I am a good cook and when I go out to dinner and I spend good money on food I expect the food to be better than what I prepare in my house. This was certainly not the case here. Overall an incredibly disappointing meal and I would certainly not recommend this restaurant. read more

So, a lot of people brag about Vetranos. And frankly, as a new comer to Westerly, I don't quite understand it. We have given this place a few chances. The pizza is ok, I would give it a 6.5/10, but their specialty pizzas are over priced. The sauce just doesn't have that zing that you would expect from a town that is rich in Italian culture. And the cheese is a big chewy and greasy - not high enough quality to justify the price. Twice our pizza has been picked up and it didn't seem to be hot out of the oven, more like they weren't busy - it got out of the oven quickly and then the pizza steamed in the box... The other entrees there are poorer quality then your typical Italian joint. Maybe 6/10 and the prices are ok. I will go back again to try the subs. I think it is a great restaurant for taking young families to or if you are looking for a pizza that is moderately priced and better than dominos. I think it's great that they opened a bar inside - it looks great but I haven't seen a real crowd drawn to it, even before covid. I am actually a big fan of Midway Pizza and their subs. But if you want some real Italian food, go to Hoofs. read more

Been going there all summer. First visit was okay, waitress was excellent, drinks small but good and the food was decent. Half a dozen trips this summer and it sank faster than my 401k. Tonight waiter asks if we want drinks, yep couple of drafts. He's gone for 10 minutes comes back and talks for 5 minutes and basically says keg is tapped out only had two glasses half full of foam. Okay my wife orders a can beer and says if ya can get one beer for me go ahead. Comes back after 10 more minutes. I'm not sure what I drank but it was horrible and warm. Takes our orders and 5 minutes later my wife is eating I continue to wait. Decide I'll have another beer but the waiter never comes. I said alright I'm gonna look at the taps and I go to the bar and choose what I'm going to drink, because this guy doesn't know what they have. My wife's done and my food arrives... hey can I get a beer? Oops sure. Eat my pizza and I really like their crust, but damn can you put some sauce on it. And it says review the ambiance... looks like a pizza place but it might be time for some new foam in the booths. read more

I can not say enough about Vetrano's! Their pizza is amazing... in the last couple months I have tried the baked ziti pizza and the calamari fra diavolo pizza. Both were so delicious. The crust on the pizza is personally some of the best in town. I have also tried the chicken parm there and it is also soooo good. I personally almost get food from here every week and will continue. They are very friendly and always willing to accommodate. They also stayed open throughout the summer safely making pizzas and entrees for the community. My husband and I came into town on Saturday and we ordered take out. The online menu states that they have gluten free entree items. So I ordered gluten free pasta with shrimp scampi. I make shrimp scampi all the time so I know it doesn't have any gluten in it. One hour later, I knew that I'd been poisoned with gluten. Today is Wednesday as I write this review, and I'm still suffering from the effects of gluten entering my body. DON'T Claim to have GF options when you obviously can not!!!!! read more

Just popped in for a slice and what a surprise. Thin crust, but the slice contained a powerful meat filled flavor that gelled with all the other flavors into a mania that just melted into my mouth. Now that maybe because I haven't been to the northeast since we watched the Yankees beat the &!?/@! out of the Red Sox last August, but I still think the place is awesome. Although I've had a few of their entrees over the years, which have been good, I mostly get pizza and salads. Both of those items are very good here, and have remained consistent over the years. While the food is a bit pricey, it's so good that you are willing to pay. Their pizza is amazing and the combinations of endless toppings is great. Our favs are the Buffalo Chicken and the BBQ Chicken, these pizza's are to die for! The stromboli is also like no other, loaded with meaty, cheesy and veggie goodness - delish! Their grinders are served on crusty outside and soft inside rolls ordered straight from NY. They are usually covered in sesame seeds but I've gotten them without before. The grinders are always stuffed with the goods, I honestly think they are some of the best grinders I've had. The Philly cheese steak and Italian are like no other. If you want a real Italian grinder try Vetrano's you will not be disappointed. They do tend to get a little too busy and sometimes when you order and ask for specific things like sauce on the side of a dinner or grinder they mess it up and you get sauce on it. It can be extremely annoying if you don't check until you get home. This has happened to me more than once. Also, customer service over the phone can be short and rude at times, well most times. The quality of the food makes up for it though and it won't stop me form ordering again and again. read more

My favorite pizza place in Westerly is closed so we decided to check out Vetrano's. Being from NY I am highly critical of pizza, and its difficult to get good stuff in New England. This wasn't terrible but it certainly wasn't anything to get excited over. I would call it passable. Its got a nice thin crust and is crispy but the bottom was a little too burnt, and the sauce must be too watery or something because the toppings just slide off. Its still a better bet then any chain. Its also a bit pricey. Side note: my parents decided to come back to try their dinners. They were pleased with the food but the service was so horrible they almost walked out, because the check took so long. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Meatball sliders were the best part of the meal. But $4 a pop is a little pricey. It was a single meatball on the slider. Only server but "bus girls?" who just looked and didn't help. So the overall service was slow. Beers were over priced vs the menu by $2.50 each. Pizza was greasy. Got there early for a reservation and we had to wait while our future table sat empty. Once we sat it was almost 10 min before we had a drink order taken. read more
