my family lives in Westerly, and they love this restaurant. I come from Washington DC and we always go here and the food is delicious, the staff is very accommodating and make the atmosphere lovely. The quality of the food is outstanding. I also really appreciate how accommodating the owners are when I call to pay for my parents dinner from out of town. They always make it a great evening. 5 stars for the food, 1 star for the décor. Guytanno's consistently serves excellent food. Everything we've had has been flavorful, well-prepared, and worth coming back for. The service has always been great too. The decor, however, is another story. It looks like someone's grandma went overboard with lace doilies, fake flowers, and every decorative hanging knickknack imaginable. It's cluttered, dated, and honestly hard to look at. If they ever gave the dining room a refresh, this place would be nearly unbeatable. Until then, I'll keep coming for the food and just try not to look around too much. read more

Save your time and money. The greeter was rude, abrasive and needs to retire. Took an hour and a half to get food order. Chicken parmigiana was dry and overcooked, edges burnt black. Scallops were good, but were covered in a "crab stuffing" that was a strange, brown gravy-like mush. Tables were sticky and dirty. Serious staffing shortage. What a Super dining experience. Cameron was our server the few times we dined with guys this summer. He always seems to be on point and very friendly. On one of the occasions we had a table for 8 and he handled all the ordering perfectly. interacting directly with each of us, giving suggestions for food ordering decisions. Each member of the party spoke highly of the overall dining experience for days afterwards. I don't think there is a bad thing on the menu as each plate was amazing. I ordered bruschetta for an app and eggplant Parmesan for my meal on this particular sit down. This restaurant is always top notch. It's towards the rear of a shopping plaza but still easy to find thanks to roadside signage. The service is efficient and friendly. The food options are plentiful as are the portions. My favorites are Sausage and Cavatelli and Zesty Panko Chicken. Just amazing. Very reasonably priced. Their salads are phenomenal and fresh. The specials are great additions to an already outstanding menu. And believe it or not - the best buffalo wings in town in my opinion. The atmosphere is up beat but never loud. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary in Westerly. Guests at our hotel mentioned Guytanno's as a good restaurant close by. This unassuming little gem is tucked away at the back of a strip mall. My husband and I are vegetarians. I wasn't sure what I could order. Our waitress was terrific. She inquired in the kitchen for us and wow, dinner was excellent. I had acorn squash stuffed with creamy risotto. My husband had spaghetti with olive oil and garlic. The servings were so large, we took half home for lunch tomorrow. Attended an event at this restaurant with a large group of people. Service was great considering only one server was handling about 40+ people. There was a set menu of four items you could choose from to make it easier for the kitchen to deal with the group but the selection was very good. There was a fish, a couple of chicken dishes, and baked stuffed shrimp which was my selection. The dish had 5 good sized shrimp with a nice amount of very well seasoned bread stuffing. These were served with the shrimp sitting in a nice amount of butter sauce which really added to the flavor of the shrimp. Roasted potato wedges and steamed carrots and fresh green beans (very fresh as a couple still had the stems attached) were also on the plats. The carrots and beans were perfectly steamed so there was still a nice crunch to them. The other entrees offered all received rave reviews with no complaints on the size of the entree or the quality of the food. Service was very good given the size of the group so everyone was well taken care of for the few hours we were there. Definitely recommend this business and when in the area will return to try some additional items off their regular menu. read more

Love this place! Went for lunch, with a friend. I got the baked cod and for a small up charge got a Caesar salad instead of potatoes, was the best I've had in a long time. Creamy fresh dressing and just the right amount on the salad. The cod was fresh and delicious. The veggies that came with the cod were green beans and carrots. I don't usually like cooked carrots but ate all of them. Firm but not under cooked. The bartender Emma made me a perfect apple martini, being a bartender myself I have hard time finding someone to make it right, Emma nailed it! I will be definitely going back for dinner with my husband for the meatballs, they too looked amazing. Met both owners Beth and Tracey, husband and wife team are definitely hands on and it shows! Our server was apparently on her first day! No training, which i hold the business accountable for. That being said, when this "server" does not bring our drinks, I had to ask someone else for them, had to call a bus person over to find out where they were, that was sort of ok?‍ my steak was over cooked. The chef did NOT over cook my meal. It was not ordered corny tje server. I know the chef cooks accordingly! She was beyond rude, brought my warm salad out after my entrée. Then when I just wanted a box she took my plate and left.it on the counter and walked away while multiple ppl just walked around it. When I called her out about that she litteally yelled at me in the restaurant and walked away from our table. The owner tried to talk w my husband as we walked out. Billed was paid and tipped. But WTF absolutely horrible service! Will not dine there ever again! read more

We dined at Guytanno's two time in one week...it's that amazing. The food is fantastic, but the wonderful service really makes the experience outstanding! First of all, Emma, our server during our first visit was simply lovely. Gracious and professional, she created a wonderful evening for us. Our second visit was with a party of 11 people (which can be challenging for the best of waitstaff). Jen, our server, took care of every little detail perfectly...she is definitely one of the best servers I've met. Even more than her skill, it was her obvious care and love for her guests and her restaurant that made us all feel so special and welcomed. On to the food.... Stuffed shrimp, scallops, halibut, wings(!), pastas....all sublime. As a side, you can get potato or...pasta!! I loved my stuffed shrimp so much and having a side of linguine with it made my heart sing. Thank you to everyone at Guytanno's...this is one place that knows how to do it right every time! read more

Stopped in on our way home from Block. Ordered take out seafood cavatelli, crab cakes and calamari. We were still about 30 mins from home, so I figured we'd have to heat it up. Nope! Everything was still warm. It was fantastic!! The huge sea scallops and shrimp with lobster cream sauce over the pasta was amazing. The crab cakes were real, fresh crab with a nice white wine aioli. The calamari wasn't crispy, but I figured that with the ride home, and came with separate hot peppers and marinara on the side. So good! I wish they had tentacles though. This is one of my favorite places in the Westerly/Charlestown area. I've been coming to this spot and bringing out-of-Towners since 2006. The ownership/management is bad. It is Monday at 545pm and they are out of multiple things on the special menu. That means they are selling stuff leftover from Saturday as a special to cut losses. They are closed Sundays. To make matters worse, staples from last year are made completely differently. They have a number of alcohol signs up that they do not even sell. To take the cake, the owner visited our table, but not to ask how our terrible experience was, he was worrying about my two-year old sun touching his window blinds. The way he chose to express that is by telling us that they are expensive. That was his only comment and the. he walked away. Is there anything more rude and unwelcoming? They should put a sign up saying no kids and take down the signs for things they do not serve. How terrible must the ownership be for all this to happen to a customer of two decades! read more

Unfortunately I asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side but they drizzled it on anyway. Took away from the flavor of the meal. Didn't have the heart to send it back:-(. Fun bar to hang out at. Staff was very engaging. We couldn't decide on which appetizers to get because so many good ones to choose from. So we ordered and ate three of them. Had the vegetable spring rolls, sweet chili wings, and coconut shrimp. All delicious. I ate the sausage cavatelli. I like heat and this had it. Was so good. I tasted my wife's chicken and broccoli cavatappi Alfredo. I liked the roasted garlic flavor it included. Prices were very reasonable and good wine and beer list to choose from. read more

My husband and I both feel this is the best Italian restaurant we've been to. Never had a bad meal the staff is good and the owner comes around to see if you're happy. We absolutely love it. Oh! Wait the decor? Is really pretty hideous, but that just makes it a little charming in my eye. Because someone is quite certain they've done a fantastic job making all the decorations themselves and like that. It's actually worth it to see how bad it is. This is a tough one. I would give this place a 2 but my family would probably give it a 4 or 5. 4 of us got the open face chicken parm sandwich. Mine was dry and the bread was burnt. I also ordered French onion soup as an appetizer but it didn't arrive until after the entrée (they obviously forgot it). It was cold, flavorless and the crouton was so hard that even after soaking in the broth it could not be cut. I rarely leave food on the plate but I couldn't get it down. My family on the other hand loved their meals! My kids, my wife and in laws all raved about their meals. I would have complained about mine but a guest was treating us so I did not want to cause a scene. The waitstaff was very friendly and other than forgetting my soup were excellent. There was an older gentlemen there who I assume was the owner. He was great as well, made us feel very welcome and taken care of. My family will clearly make me give this place another shot. The bread - not baked on premises and served with plastic butter cups Cocktails - great Service - great Calamari - over cooked Marinara - the best I've had in any restaurant Seafood pasta - store pasta, drenched in bland sauce, seafood cooked in the sauce (no sear or browning, just kinda boiled) Salad - ok, dressing bland, toppings scarce Desserts all from freezer Way too expensive. If you're looking for a relaxed quiet dining experience this is not the place. The noise level is above deafening. Service was very slow but I guess that's what we have to expect nowadays. The food was meh. We split a Caesar salad which was large enough for the two of us and it was OK. However we both ordered the linguine and clam sauce. My sister's first bite was a mouthful of red pepper and that ruined the entire meal for her. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Not anymore. I'm not sure what happened to Guytanno's over the past year but we won't be returning any time soon. The menu has gotten much smaller and the quality of the food has decreased significantly. The service also left something to be desired. I felt that the staff was trying to rush us out, despite it being a weeknight with no line. The waitress was obsessively clearing the table while I was still eating! Not sure what happened to this former gem, but now a formerly treasured place is just a major disappointment. read more
