Posting this review on behalf of my dad: They provide outstanding service...awesome team! My shower and water heater inlet valves both needed to be replaced. Julie, who answered the phone on a Saturday, explained that to avoid a weekend or after hours service call charge, we should schedule for someone to come out on a weekday instead. The service was initially scheduled for the middle of the week, but she called Sunday to let me know they now had availability on Monday, which I readily agreed to. Rod, a Marine vet, and his assistant came out and looked at the situation. After further evaluation, he proposed repair options and I decided that our 27-year-old water heater, along with the house water inlet and corroded PRV valves, also needed replacement. They would've came out same day but I decided to save some money since it wasn't causing any damage to any of the surrounding drywall. So we hired V4U plumbing last January when our system crashed. Origanally it was to be a $16K job with 2 bathroom demps in a 10 unit apartment building in University Heights. Well, the system was from the 50's and toast. So the job turned into a $94K job with tennants relocated for 2 months. Rod and his crew did a good job and had to fight mother nature and her rain last spring. He told the owener, "All your pipes will be new and you will never have plumbing problems again!" That is why she said yes to what needed to be done. Well, the guy in unit #6 moved out and I go in there to find the tub drain was never done...and the shut off valve for the toilet was never done. I call V4UP and talk to the owner and Rod calls me back and straight up lies to me. He says the owner said not to do that unit. I called her and she very quickly made it clear he had lied to me. They were burnt out from a 3 month job, driving from O'side to SD proper, and the problems with such a crazy big job, that they intentionally decided to cheat us out of what we paid for. I mean, the walls were open, to replace that tub drain would have been easy and cheap while we had drywall people and painting people here. Everything was good, until is wasn't, and I feel betrayed by V4UP I now have a plumber in here to replace the shut off valve on the toilet before the new tenant moves in today. Our little man tried to "help" clean up and added baby wipes, lots and lots of baby wipes, to our toilet and flushed. they were kind of rude over the phone from the start. not a good sign. i could tell they are not on the up and up. they refused to give me any idea of pricing for a simple clearing of a line. the reason is they want to try to make it bigger than it is and upsell you more work you dont need. unethical from the start. any good plumber knows how to clear a simple drain which i have and i explained that. regardless they could have given me a window of pricing for a simple drain clear. this is manipulative. and many people are are so naive and go with this baloney and believe them.this is the new scam. not trustworthy and not nice 2 marks against them. if they are rude over the phone forget it. and wont give a simple price. we customers then have to waste hours and days with quotes to get a simple drain cleared. dont go along with this bad business practice. maybe it will stop. read more

We had our heater installed by this company 3 years ago. They did a great job. Two weeks ago scheduled appointment to have a quote to have our heater ducts replaced . The day of the appointment our time slot was 12 to 2. They called at 1:45 and said they could not make it. They made another appointment to come 3 days later and called 15 minutes before the appointment saying they could not make it for the same reason they told us on the first appointment.. We had our water heater break over the weekend and they were able to quote us early Monday morning and get our new tankless water heater installed the same day! I contacted Vets 4 You to assist with a plumbing concern at a rental property in Oceanside. As a retired Marine, I thought using this company would be beneficial considering their philosophy of going the extra mile for their customers and fellow veterans. Ms. Amanda was my initial point of contact and she was truly the consummate professional! She expertly assisted me in scheduling a visit and was truly the company's Ambassador of Goodwill! As a preventative measure Mr. Rod recommended I replace all 13 of the shut off valves (Angle Stops) and water supply lines in this 33 year old home along with 3 faucets and pea traps. A new Pressure Relieve Valve was installed along with a main line water cut off valve and a new sink basin. At the end of the day, a very conscientious and professional member of the staff, Mr. Robbie, came by conducted a final walk through with my representative and everything was good to go! These people saved my life. If that sounds melodramatic, it's because it sure felt dramatic to us. Imagine this: the house is 85 degrees and climbing. Even hotter upstairs. We turn on the air conditioning and SCREEEECH "What was that noise??" No more cool air. No more sanity. This wouldn't be so bad... if it weren't for the TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT WAVE in the forecast this weekend! :-O I think the same thing happened to a lot of people, because I called about 8 different local companies (support small businesses!), and half of them didn't even answer their phones. The ones that did couldn't come out until Tuesday. Today was Thursday. NOOOOOOOO... When I called Vets 4 You, the receptionist (I'm so sorry, I forgot your name!) was wonderful. She was super-friendly, very sympathetic, and very helpful. At first I was told not till Tuesday. *droopy sad face* but she would put my name at the top of the waiting list if there was a cancellation. Imagine my surprise when I got a call 15 minutes later informing me that they could come out today! *shiny happy face!* Turns out one of the company owners, Keith, decided to come after hours, even though he was tired, to help me not melt into a puddle. I was so happy! He arrived two hours later and inspected the unit. He suspected the capacitor had gone bad and, after removing a panel, was able to immediately confirm his suspicions. Even more joyous was he had a replacement part in his truck! He reattached the wires to the capacitor, put it back into the unit, turned it on and then.... that beautiful sound of a noisy AC unit! Yippee! Afterwards I asked if there was any maintenance I should be doing on the unit. He said every six months we should check the filter. They could do it for us, or we could do it ourselves to save the cost. He even showed us how. That's a class act. I highly recommend these people. read more

Had an entire HVAC system installed when our 50 year old gas heater finally gave up the ghost. I knew this business was going to do well for me because they bought the business from our plumber of 25 years who actually vetted them before he sold them his business! But my expectations were totally exceeded. When Keith and Mike came out to look at the old heater and give me a quote for a new one, they were both professional, willing to answer any and all questions honestly, and fully explain the work that needed doing. They also explained how they were all vets and enjoyed volunteering their time and some of their profits to various veterans organizations. I was so impressed by this and also felt sure this was an honest operation. These men are to be trusted, they're full of integrity. It took 3 days to get the job done--these guys were working with intense concentration to get us back in heat (and install AC as well) as quickly as they could. I was out of town for 3 days, and when I got home Monday night my furnace was not working and my house was cold. I called Vets 4 You first thing the next morning, and they sent Robert to my house by about 9 am. Robert diagnosed the problem right away, told me what it would cost to fix it, went and got the part, and came back and fixed the furnace. And my house was soon warm. Thank you, Vets4You! I also used Vets 4 You several years ago to put in a new HVAC system, and a Daikon heater/cooler, and change my incoming water pipes from under the slab to through the attic.
