Family dinner tonight. We are so glad we chose to eat here! Everything was amazing! Mel was our server- very attentive and friendly. Restaurant is quaint- perfect for a shopping center pizza place. We decided to try Vetture's out. We ordered for takeout and while we waited it was very busy. Lots of regular customers coming in for takeout. The phone was ringing nonstop with orders. We were very excited to try the pizza. The staff were very friendly and professional. We got our pizza and drove home. In the car it smelled delicious! I mince we got home I was surprised to see the amount of cheese on the pizza! I didn't expect that much cheese the slices were soggy and my first bite of the cheese pizza was not good. The sauce tastes very metallic like and wasn't good at all. My wife had a vegetarian and it was way soggier than the cheese! We were very disappointed! read more

I HATE leaving a low score. The food was literally flavorless. We had the chicken orzo soup that tasted like oily water. We had to dump a ton of salt in it so we could eat it. My daughter got fettuccine Alfredo. The sauce tasted like milk and the consistency was that of milk too. We added a ton of salt. My son ordered penne carbonara. The sauce was soooooo thin!?! It dripped off every piece of pasta...... and cue the salt. We probably used half a container of salt altogether. I ordered veal parmigiana and the sauce was sweet, not a good sweet, but like way too sweet. Thank you salt. My husband ordered lasagna, this lasagna was severely vertically challenged. It sat as high on the plate as my veal parmigiana. You get the point. It was a melted pile of cheese and sauce. The seating area was clean. The young man who sat us was very nice and welcoming. The waitress was fine. She didn't do anything wrong but she wasn't warm. That's ok, but a friendly demeanor goes a lot farther. I'd love to hear of changes and I'd come back. Gotta say I was A little let down tonight though/: my boyfriend and I ordered a large pie for take out and the pizza didn't really taste like it was cooked all the way through and kind of soggy, usually I can pick up a slice and it won't fall limp but this time it was like flimsy. The food was very good. Service was definitely off though. First, the wrong brands of beer were brought to ALL of us. We felt bad because the bottles were already open so we drank them instead of what we ordered. Service was fast...TOO FAST! The problem was, all of our courses arrived at one time! Five minutes after our calamari appetizer arrived, our salads did as well. We had just started to enjoy our salads & the main courses were there! Bad timing. My sister lived in this area as a teenager. I know I visited and I'm sure we had this pizza, but I recall nothing about it. So when I had to come up this way for work and she insisted coming with so she could bask in the smell of this place, I was confused. Wow, I was crazy for not remembering this place! Amazing. The service, they're so kind! The smell, delightful. The menu, perfect. We got the grandma pizza, and I don't even want to bother trying another. It was just that good. I've been to Vetture's many times and have always loved the food, especially their pizza! However, today I decided to try the eggplant parm sandwich and I was sorry I did. In hindsight I should've sent it back because there was very little eggplant, sauce and cheese and was basically tasteless. I finally asked the waiter for more sauce and that helped, but it was a very skimpy sandwich. It also came with potato chips, which were the crumbs from the end of the bag! This was a "5 stars in my memory" business that I avoided returning to as an adult in case it didn't live up to it. But HOT DANG! So much missed time. It's 5 stars for real for sure! We drove all the way out here from St. Pete on a Friday evening for a spontaneous date night. I didn't do my homework because when we arrived we found they weren't doing dine in service only takeout... After expressing my disappointment (in myself for not thinking to check this) to my husband, one of the owners overheard and was quick to save the day. He literally went out of his way to give us table service at one of the outdoor tables. I mean table-table service. We ordered a bottle of wine and he gave us real glasses and everything. I am getting goose bumps just typing this now, it was so overwhelmingly kind of him. He gifted us a sweet and fun memory. I am so excited to keep making memories here. I remembered the Greek salad with potato salad as one of the best. And yup still is. What makes it so amazing is that it's 40% potato salad 10% lettuce, and 50% feta cheese. Okay, so that's an exaggeration but this salad is loaded with cheese and it is amazing. I also remembered loving the white pizza and the house specialty "Grandma's Pie." This time we ordered Grandma's and she didn't let us down. In fact this is officially my husband's favorite pizza TO DATE. And that's saying a lot because yeah...we eat a lotta pizza. The gentleman who ultimately became our server despite not doing table service hinted at the fact that that maybe they are newerish owners? Fine got there and it wasn't done. Waited. No big deal. Waited, finally someone told me they missed my order. So I went out to my car to move it. I had paid for it online and would just run in and grab it. So after a few minutes I came back in and still was not ready. Sat. Eventually it was. Got home & opened the box - it was black. Crust on top which I thought ok I can take that off. But the bottom was solid black as well. They knew that. But just sent me out with it anyway. Went back, made me another and it was awful. Moved out of the area a few years ago and always ordered from them as all their food was good, 3 years later I am in the area so we stop by and I order what I liked the best in the past, a steak onion and cheese with toasted bread. had to repeat my order 3 times to the person taking the order then repeated 2 more times that it needs to be toasted. I had to leave so my wife and son waited and picked up our order. Now I live about 45 minutes away and could not wait for the food however it was horrible. To start the most important thing toasting the bread was not done then I believe the cheese was from a can of cheese wiz. it was terrible and not edible. In my opinion this is the best place for lunch if your looking to get a couple of slices of pizza. Very good deal all day on two slices and soda. Around $6-8.00 for two slices and a 32oz soda. Slices are huge difficult to finish both. If you go here you have to try at least one piece of "Grandmas" pizza it is a garlic pesto cheese and tomato sauce slice the will wake up you taste buds with a flavorful explosion. They have many other choices as well available. My only issue here is that they don't offer soda that I drink. They only have Pepsi products so I pass on the soda and just bring my own. read more

I had a doctor's appointment in the area. We decided to stock at Vatture's for a late lunch. I ate there a few years ago and the pizza was great so we decided to have the meat lovers pizza this time too. The waiter was very friendly and quite attentive to us. When he brought the pizza it was quite light on the meat toppings and the crust had a strange color but was not risen.. I looked at the bottom and it was slightly overcooked and almost burned... The flavor of the topping was excellent but the crust was odd..... slightly burned tasting and the crust had a strange crunchy consistency. The previous owner had died and it was nothing like before. I would grade it 3 out of 10 because of the crust. I went there this time because it was sooooo good years ago when I was there the last time. I asked the waiter where did they get their dough and he said they made it. It was nothing like before and nothing like a good pizza and I would never eat pizza there again. For $30 it was terrible. I should have gone to Joeys Pizza. Be careful... nothing like real NY Italian pizza. Good luck. The owners need help with their crust. read more
