My daughter wanted sushi tonight and I wanted thai. Perfect! She ordered the veggie salad. The dressing was great. She also has the 3 roll special for $11. The rolls are small but it was a big serving with lots of ginger and wasabi. I had the Tom Yum Chicken soup which was delicious hot and spicy - I also had the pad Thai which was piping hot and had lots of peanuts (It was not sweet) It needed a little kick to it maybe some more lime or some peanut sauce. It did the job. Very quick service, the three roll special is a steal. I got the shishenko, spicy tuna, and eel roll. I enjoyed the presentation. Holy moly! Super tasty. I had the Pad se-ew with shrimp. It was by far one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. Great mix of veggies and delicious shrimp with fresh and wide rice noodles. Delicious flavors and a great portion size. Also split the 3-roll combo and added another roll because they all sounded so delicious. Shrimp tempura, asparagus, spicy salmon, and mango avocado rolls. The asparagus roll was a little boring, I was hoping for an asparagus tempura roll but it was just asparagus and rice. The other rolls were excellent, especially the spicy salmon. read more

Small out of the way sushi place for me, but we'll worth the trip for the quality and price. I cant speak for the dine in service, but can tell you that seating is limited here and it doesnt seem too inviting to dine-in. Sushi is fresh, tasty, prepared to your liking (extra spicy for me please), and all done with care. Don't believe me? Watch the guys work at their art. Their 3 roll special is a good value and even their Thai menu is worth trying. My only complaint is they need to be much closer to my house so I can get my sushi fix in more often. We've tried Vic twice now. Each time we pickup and eat at home. Sushi - A-ok! It's been good, great, enjoy it. 3 rolls special for $10 is great for penny-pinching. Teriyaki (which is what one of my kids eats) is eh. Just 'eh. The sauce isn't great and there's way too many onions. For sure will be back, just wish their teriyaki was better. read more

We have been calling in takeout orders regularly since we tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago. It's perfect because it's quick and friendly to call in an order, there is convenient parking, the food is always ready and hot, the value on the food is great, and it tastes amazing! We are huge fans of the 3 roll special (such a value) and the pad kee mao (delicious flavor and perfect noodles). This is a really cute sushi bar. The 3 rolls for $10.95 is a pretty good deal averaging about $4 a roll. Although the sushi is decent it isn't amazing. This is my first sushi experience in Philly and there was more to be desired. I was surprised at how tiny each piece of sushi was and how carelessly my roll was put together. The fish is fresh but it was missing that strong flavor I love. Great miso though that was the best I've had. Very clean. Too small for parties over 3-4. I will eat here again though. read more

This is the type of place that you want to keep all to yourself.... a secret. It is so good, you don't want others to find it because you might not be able to get in again. There are only about 5-6 tables and maybe 4 spots at the sushi bar. BYOB. The sushi is outstanding. I ordered mine with soy paper rather than seaweed. My wife really enjoyed her Thai dish. My son loved his chicken teriyaki dish. We have been back numerous times and have always had an excellent meal, from the miso soup, ginger salad, sushi rolls to japanese/thai dinners. I'll qualify this review with the fact that I do not eat fish (or crustaceans, mollusks, or anything that swims). My review will be on their vegetable sushi. I never really ate sushi until I made some sushi-friends and was dragged to many restaurants. Vic's is the only place that I can go and know that I will be just as happy with my sushi as a normal fish lover would be. Their oshinko roll is pickled perfection - the slices are not too thick and the taste is just delightful. One of those plus two sweet potato rolls make up my "usual" meal there. I don't know a lot about sushi, but I hear that their 3 roll special is very reasonable. I am pleased with it considering the awful veggie sushi I have had at other area establishments. The staff is great, but the service is spotty at times. If you show up on a busy night (read - completely full) you are liable to wait quite a while. However, if you show up at an off time the staff really treats you well. I think they would be well served with a bigger restaurant. Seeing the positive reviews here for their non-sushi items, I may stray from my usual and try the pad thai soemtime. read more

I came here a while back with a friend. We ordered a selection of Thai dishes and sushi. The Thai dishes were tasty, but I felt the sushi was a bit lackluster and nothing special to write home about. I remember having one roll which had tuna, but appears to be out of a can and definitely not raw. If you want Thai, its a good local spot, but I'd recommend elsewhere if you're looking for high grade sushi. read more

I have tried nearly every sushi spot in the city, and this little spot in a strip mall in the suburbs is still my favorite by a landslide. I get takeout at least one a week. I first became a fan of Vic when I worked downtown. I would order at least twice a week, as I was extremely fond of the little place, and dare I say addicted to their spicy tuna rolls. That was over three years ago... Fast forward to this summer, 2010. I don't work downtown anymore and I was driving through Spring House, on my way to the only decent local sushi place to pick up lunch. My car almost swerved off the road when I saw that sexy black sign with its orange letters, signaling to me that my favorite place had either opened another location, or moved altogether to the town neighboring to where I currently work. Nestled in a small shopping center, tucked away almost in the back, sat Vic! I immediately pulled in, and lo and hehold, stood Vic himself, accompanied by his wife and her sister! And they remembered me :) I picked up a menu (I still had to pick up sushi from the other place that day), but I've never ordered from anywhere else since this fabulous restaurant is back in my life! And yes, we even order twice a week sometimes. I still think their spicy tuna roll is hands-down, the best around. I highly recommend the tofu tomyam soup as well. It's a spicy broth with an ecclectic blend of herbs and vegetables. The naruto roll - fabulous. Foods good. however dont EVER take out. They prioritize eat in. We ordered take out and got a 1hr time frame on a friday night. We called to check in and they extended it 15 minutes. I show up and they just start making the food. The kicker is there was barely any one in the place and they were clearly making food for people who were not there an hour and a half ago. Go ahead and eat in just dont take out. I told them this was unacceptable and the owner told me to take a walk. Clearly not a customer oriented outfit. And by the way it was a large order so you might think they would care. Guess not. Really problematic when you have guests over and they have been waiting.....awfully embarrassing and inexcusable. read more

First time at Vic's and overall was pleased. My dining partner enjoyed the seafood salad and that is the main reason for the 4 stars. She had two rolls which were good but not overwhelmingly good. My edamame appetizer was not fully cooked and had no sea salt. When i asked if there any of the dishes were vegan, nobody seamed to know what that meant. Went with the holy basil tofu which had a fantastic sauce but the tofu was a bit overfried and scarce on the plate. Would go back but would also suggest that they certify or offer some vegan options. read more

We liked their 3 roll special to pick any 3 rolls from the list for $10.95. We got the spicy tuna (delicious, good texture, small pieces of tuna, slightly too spicy for one person in the group but I thought it was great), the california roll (good, standard roll), spicy salmon (also delicious), and the mango and avacado roll (at some other yelp suggestions, we asked to add cream cheese to it and i loved it!). We got one specialty roll but i forget which one it was. It arrived very beautifully arranged and was quite large. The only downside to the entire meal was having to pay for the green tea, but it was rich and earthy and came in a pot with the leaves in a filter. We will be back for fresh, delicious sushi at a decent price. read more

I've been to this Vic's and the Vic's in philly and I gotta say Vic's in philly is much better. I usually order the Ocean Brother roll and the Romantic roll. They were still good but doesn't compare to the freshness and care in philly. The service here was also off. I hated getting stared at while I was eating by the sushi chefs and the waiters. I didn't feel that discomfort in the other establishment. Looks like I'll have to take a trip to philly every time I want some Vic's sushi :/ read more
