There's a variety of jellies and butter (spreads) to choose from. There's plenty of seating and the turnaround time for a table seems to be quick. This was on my dad's list of places to visit while I was in town. We found time to go during breakfast before I flew home after New Year's. It's in the same plaza as the health shop, movie theater, Walmart, and other stores. They specialize in biscuit dishes, often served with gravy or as the bread for a sandwich. We got there when it opened and it was not busy at all. You go up to the register to order then they give you a number to put on the table if you're dining in. You cannot claim a table if you don't have a number. The gal who waited on us was very helpful and friendly. She answered our questions about the best sellers and was quick to check on things if she didn't have an answer off the top of her head. I ordered one of the sandwiches with egg and ham and cheese and a hot tea. My folks bought the same and ordered coffees. (Initially the coffees weren't right and she asked the kitchen to brew fresher ones for my folks.) The jam and butter bar are open - grab as much or as little as you'd like. I saved one side of my biscuit to try with the honey butter and it was delicious. The sandwich was good but a little salty. (Due to the meats) But the eggs were cooked perfectly without any browning on them. Parking was good when we went. I like Vicious Biscuit! I'm just not sure I would go eat here regularly. First of all, the biscuits are MASSIVE and I love all their unique but also classic flavor combinations. Personally, I am not the biggest biscuit fan. (I know, I know, can I even call myself a true Southerner?) Don't get me wrong, I love a biscuit most when it's buttery, flakey, and topped with gravy. When biscuits are too thick, on their own they end up being too bready and dry for me. For that reason, I took the middle "goodie" out of my biscuit and ate that with a fork and knife. The portion is massive and if I attempted to eat the actual biscuit part, I probably would not have been successful in finishing it. The pimento cheese was fantastic and that hot honey drizzle was everything of the sort! I also really enjoyed the butter and jelly bar. Ya'll know I love variety! I'll also want other people to be mindful that I went to a place with the name biscuit in it but didn't get a biscuit. Shame on me. I was excited when I saw their "THE BIRD AND BELGIAN". I'm a fan of sweet potato waffles and fried chicken so I thought I'd love it. Unfortunately, I didn't find the waffle very flavorful. The chicken was seasoned decently. I also ordered the "VICIOUS CANDIED BACON" which seemed like they weren't sure how to make it sweet and spicy like advertised. The flavors did not mend well and I did not finish it despite how hungry I was. I also ordered a side of their season fruit which was delicious and perfectly cut. The staff did seem friendly, the lines moved quickly, and the facility was clean. We stumbled upon this place after accidentally waiting too long to eat brunch and I'm so happy we did. It was an absolute delight. The staff was super kind and helpful and we enjoyed ourselves a lot! You order at the counter but the staff is still very present during your meal to make sure your table isn't crowded with plates and that you're enjoying everything. The food is amazing but definitely heavy. I ordered their Benedict biscuit but altered it to be vegetarian by replacing the meat with their breaded avocado. Went to brunch with some family while in Charlotte. This spot was suggested by my sister in law. They have a good selection on their menu. I had the Vicious Beignets, they are very good. They have a sweet cream filling, we enjoyed those. If you're not a big sweet eater they may be too sweet for you. The shrimp and firsts biscuit was the best thing! The grits creamy, the biscuit was soft and with a nasty crisp outside and the sauce tied everything together. I can't wait to go back. I stopped in here on a Sunday around noon. The line was pretty long and went all the way to the door. It felt like the line was moving slowly at first, but then it started to speed up. It probably took about 15 mins to get to the front. Since I didn't see any reviews or photos of the Cubano, I had to take one for the team and try it out! The food is AMAZING!! I especially love the gluten free biscuit for my mom- it's so hard for her to find good food that's gluten free! The yogurt bowl, sandwiches, and biscuits are so delicious and you can tell they're made from scratch and made with love! Don't even get me started on the homemade jams and jellies! We have been to Vicious Biscuit many times and were there on Sunday. Just a couple of suggestions- while you have "Please keep the door closed" painted on the entrance door. People do not abide by it. Sunday was a rather warm day, but there was still cool air coming in with the door being held open by customers. maybe you can come up with a better idea of where to post this notice. The food here was so good I came two days back to back out of my four day visit to Charlotte. Service was nice and prompt. They answered all of my questions and told me everything I needed to know. Can't believe I'm just trying this place, as I live literally right around the corner. Everything was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the portions too, very generous. I have to admit that the long line out the door at 10:30 AM on a Saturday morning was momentarily discouraging but it moves pretty quickly. The smiling young woman behind the counter was cheerful and friendly and surprisingly capable for her first day on the job--her customer service skills were impressive especially for a newbie. Compared to other popular breakfast restaurants, the time from arrival to breakfast was surprisingly fast--there are more than a few places I will never visit due to long waits for food. Kudos to the Vicious Biscuit for getting it right. The menu options are a bit overwhelming especially during a fit of hunger. I settled on the namesake Vicious Biscuit and a side of pumpkin bites, a seasonal item, and a cup of coffee. The coffee was imported from Charleston and was impressively good while awaiting the food. I might lose my cred as a biscuit-loving southerner if I reveal that I am generally not a fan of the gravy that accompanies biscuits (a la biscuits & gravy). The Viscous Biscuit comes with maple sausage gravy which I really enjoyed. The jalapeño cheddar biscuit is stuffed with a crispy chicken breast topped with that delicious maple sausage gravy and a small drizzle of maple syrup. It's crowned with a few pieces of "cowboy candy" which I though would be candied bacon, but it turned out to be the pickled jalapeño cousin of sweet pickles, almost devoid of any fire. With a hearty meal, I ordered the pumpkin bites "to go" with the full intention to have one and take the rest home. They were really delicious pumpkin fritters with vanilla icing for dipping. It was hard to stop at just one, but I mustered the self-control. All the while the staff were buzzing around, friendly and attentive. They all seemed to be quite proud of the food they serve and deservedly so. That's a really nice touch. The restaurant also has a jam and butter bar and a large outdoor patio overlooking a picturesque "lake." I had no idea this lake existed though I have been coming to the Arboretum for a decade and a half. All in all this place was great. I'm looking forward to exploring the menu further. You wait in line to order at the counter and then find a table to sit down with your number. We did wait a bit for our food, but they were very busy and we were a party of 6, so it was understandable! The biscuits were delicious! They offer a butter bar, but I felt like they weren't necessary and were fine and had lots of flavor without it. We tried the fat boy, vicious, silence of the ham, and ranchero. Everyone enjoyed their biscuits. We also tried the vicious beignets and the sweet puppies. They had the items in stock and my "mini" was able to get his vicious shortcake (YUM) - my egg white omelette was much better this time and they were all over being attentive. We've had takeout from Vicious Biscuit's location in Mount Pleasant and that proved good enough for us to pop in at our local location. The line was to the door when we arrived but the order and payment process was fairly efficient and the wait wasn't as long as we assumed it would be at first glance. We found seats and interacted with some of the extremely friendly staff who were bouncing around the dining room. Our food was brought out timely and absolutely no complaints with either of our dishes. Would highly recommend starting your Saturday at Vicious Biscuit for a feel good jumpstart. I will add, we arrived just before 10:30 and left just after 11:00. The line had grown to that point to about 10-15 people outside the door. When my wife told me she wanted to check out this new breakfast spot, I was all about it, I mean who doesn't love a good biscuit joint! We showed up on a Saturday morning, and I expected the line to be long, but I guess we got luck since there wasn't much of a wait and the line moved fairly quickly. The girl taking our order was very friendly and got everything right. We found a table and awaited the arrival of our food. It arrived in good time and was absolutely delicious! The sweet puppies are excellent, as is the white chocolate custard that is served with it. The biscuits are a good size and very delicious. The manager and her employee(one other woman)started to kick everyone out of the restaurant 10 mins to closing in such a rude and terrible manner. No tact, all aggressive when coming to our table 3 times in 4 mins trying to take my child's plate away from her as she was eating. We get it, you close at 3pm We got there at 2:30pm. All you had to say was take out was only available and no dine in due to the late time but, instead they proceeded to tell us that we had to pick up our own plates and that they were locking the door on us and had to leave through the outside patio area. Rude, very rude white lady manager in a yellow shirt and big black girl In a red shirt. Wish I got their names. I will come back and express to the owner who those individuals were. My 9 year old child felt very harassed and I will make sure these individuals get a reality check. If you do not like your job then work some where else where you do not have to use customer service or your lack there of. Great food though. Lots of great flavors that worked well together. The jam bar is a nice supplement. My husband got the gravy train and we both agreed that gravy is not the business here. We prefer a savory, classic gravy and theirs is very sweet due to the maple syrup. The chai latte was also very good. We sat outside overlooking the pond and it was very pleasant. At first we were a little perplexed as all the open tables have reserved signs, but when you read the sign you realize they say reserved for customers who have already ordered. I love that - nothing worse then all the seats being taken by people not even eating! And I also love that reading the signs is an important part of knowing what's going on. We sat outside with a gorgeous view of the little lake/pond near the restaurant and our food and beverages were delivered promptly. Our server was equally charming and helpful - such great service! My son devoured his breakfast, as I did after visiting the jam & butter bar! So many delicious combos to choose from but I went with the honey butter and peach jam. The peach jam balanced the jalapeño nicely. I loved everything about this spot - casual, welcoming, great location and exceptional service. Oh....and the biscuits are pretty darn tasty, too! There are plenty of options for meat eaters, seafood lovers and vegetarians. I ordered the Mater's Buscuit. Thick fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and maple bacon jam on a golden soft on the inside biscuit . The jalapeno cheese hush puppies are delicious and the shrimp and grits biscuit is amazing! My sister said it's a combination that you wouldn't think of but together they make so much sense! The freshly squeezed orange juice was refreshing! The Vicious biscuit merch is so cool.
