I'll start by saying I'm giving a four because I do feel like things could've been a tad bit better in areas. We arrived for a late breakfast and it was quite crowded, but we easily found parking stood in line for a few minutes. Looking at the menu. When we got to the counter, the young lady was very helpful in explaining the different biscuits and things available and also offered up opinions on the things we were looking for. We didn't get any of the coffees or juices, but we had the vicious biscuit. We did order the beignets to share. One of the kids had pancakes and bacon and I had a simple chicken biscuit with cowboy candy, which is basically sugared cooked down jalapeños. I feel like there could've been more cowboy candy on the biscuit cause it's quite large and there wasn't much to the cowboy candy. The biscuit is going to be either you like it or it's not your type of biscuit. I will say that, even though as thick as it was, it did not have a doughy thick center that I was expecting. The ambience in the restaurant is cute. You sit down with the number they bring your food out they have a flavored butter bar and a flavored jam jelly area there with it. Our food came out fresh and hot. My granddaughter wasn't a huge fan of the maple sausage gravy biscuit, I will add when I cut it up for her. The bottom was extremely hard. I had considered having it remade. My friend got the vicious biscuit and she said she would've liked to gotten more gravy maybe on the side. The beignets were fabulous with the strawberries and whipped cream. She wasn't a huge fan of what was supposed to be scrambled eggs with cheese. All in all we would revisit and we were happy to be able to experience it while in the area.

Food - 5 stars! Service - 5 stars! Ambiance - 5 stars! First visit. We walked in and there was decent line but moved quickly. The kid at the counter was very nice and helpful. You place your order at the counter get your number, coffee cup for drip coffee, utensils, etc. Go make your coffee, soda or whatever (foo foo coffee, fresh squeezed OJ delivered to your table) and have a seat. Food came out fairly quickly for a busy morning and while eating a young lady stopped by to see if we needed anything else. The food is the ! Biscuits are so fresh and you have so many varieties of biscuit sandwich options. They have some lighter fare options along with GF. The coolest thing is the Jam & Butter bar...all kinds of compound butters and jams to try. Will definitely try them again if we are back in the area!!

Customer service is awesome!! Didn't get her name but I loved her patience and care when I placed my order. Many ways to have a biscuit. Various options besides bacon and sausage. I'm having a build your own breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice delicious!! Grits are absolutely creamy and flavorful. The pimento cheese add a great addition to the grits. Definitely will order this again

Yum! A well oiled machine. Packed but moves quickly. Some of the most affordable food around! They have a little self serve bar full of various butters and jams. So cute! Seemed like a lot of kids working there and boy were they on top of things and super friendly! Obviously well managed. The sweet puppies are the most decadent sweet potato fritters! Generous portions.

Second time to this location, last here a couple years ago and we knew we wanted to return. Glad we did, I'm now gluten free and not one place in the west do I know of that would have GF BISCUITS!!!! It was actually pretty good too, a little bit crunchy on the outsides but the middle was soft and yummy. I got the animal farm which came with egg white cheddar and "candied" bacon, the bacon was very good with a bit of a kick. The cheese was actually shredded and I wish spread out a bit more it was kinda clumped in the middle unfortunately. Regardless this is what I would order again, and service was fantastic and very polite. The first time we came the line was out the door, this time we came 45 minutes prior to closing and it was much more doable. Recommended.

We visited Vicious Biscuit on our most recent trip to Charleston, SC. I was really looking forward to trying out the famous Southern-style biscuits. The first spot we landed on was Vicious Biscuit. I was surprised by how large the biscuits were. They were sturdy enough to hold the different types of jams and butter we put on them. Every bite of the biscuit had a nice balance of crunchy and savory. Their house-made jams and butter were the ideal complement to the biscuits. I would definitely come here again if I visited Charleston in the future.

For a chain biscuit joint, this place is pretty good!! You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. They have a honey/butter spread bar which is super fun and you'll find some really choices there. The biscuits are done very well and so were the potatoes, I'd order again! The sweet tea was bad, unsure if the tank needed cleaned or if it was just the taste of it here.

If you're looking for a breakfast joint... look no further! Was browsing through different restaurants to try and decided on Viscious Biscuit due to proximity to the beach we were headed to but so thankful we came here! It was very casual and you order at the register, get a number, grab your utensils, and they bring your food out when its ready. They had outdoor seating, which was great since we had the dog with us. The menu was a bit overwhelming only because there are too many things I wanted to try. However I got the traditional breakfast mainly because I couldn't decide and I wanted to try all the butter and jams at the bar. I really loved the bourbon maple butter and the peach habenero jam...a lot of people seemed to like the blueberry ghost pepper jam because that was almost always empty. Biscuit was great...golden and crunchy on outside but soft on the inside. Bacon and eggs were very good. Potatoes were seasoned well and crispy on the outside. I got the cafe macchiato and thought it had strong coffee flavor but balanced well with sweetness. Husband got the Hen solo and he really enjoyed it...it was a lot of food! My absolute favorite part of the meal is the fresh squeezed orange juice. They have a machine that squeezes oranges and it tastes just like the one I got every morning at the resort when we were in the Bahamas. Highly recommended but go early because they get really busy...even for a weekday!

Such a stellar gluten free biscuit! They actually have a whole gluten free menu that is great. Kids menu has better than average choices sure to please little gourmands. Juicy chicken, yummy gravy, creamy grits, and fresh orange juice. Great delivery option as it travels well. Also cute counter order table spot. Great to recommend to your visitors too for a taste of the south that doesn't break the bank.

The Vicious That fried chicken was great and really well seasoned.

The food was delicious! Those biscuits and the grits were amazing. The sausage was fantastic. My kids did not care too much for the bacon. Said it was too sweet. Coffee was good. The staff were very friendly and took our order correctly, and the food was prepared quickly. The restaurant was clean. We arrived, and the line was outside, but it moved relatively quickly. Coming back tomorrow morning to get some more grits before heading back to NYC.

We've traveled to Charleston several times over the last year and a half. As breakfast lovers, we are in constant pursuit of fun, local, and delicious breakfast restaurants. This is one breakfast restaurant we crave when we're not able to start our day with Vicious Biscuit. Every time we come to Charleston, our mornings begin with Vicious Biscuit. We've had many items from the menu, and none of the menu options have disappointed. Our most recent trip to Charleston included two consecutive days of breakfast at Vicious Biscuit. I've heard nothing but good reviews about this place since it opened so of course I had to check it out!! There was a line just to enter the restaurant. My bad for going on a Saturday around 10 am.. which I'm going to bet is probably prime time for this place. However, we waited in line maybe 7-10 minutes before we were able to order at the front counter. After we ordered, we sat ourselves. I was worried about finding a place to sit as seating is sparse. However, a spot for two opened up just as we had finished placing our order. The food was delicious!! The biscuit was heavenly! Chicken was juicy and fresh and everything you'd ever wish for! The mimosas was delicious with freshly squeezed OJ. Highly recommend!! I read online they are opening other locations which should help with the crowds on a Saturday morning. read more

This place is....AMAZING! We came on a Sunday morning around 10 am. Line out the door, and expected it to take forever. Boy were we wrong. We were in line for maybe 10 minutes, ordered, and got our food so quick. No mistakes on the food at all. We got 'The Scotlyn' which is a shareable. I attached a picture for reference. It was so delicious!! We also got the 'Silence of the Hams', 'The Fat Boy', and Iced Coffee. The customer service was the best. They checked on us multiple times, and they were so nice. Drove by this place a couple weeks ago and Yelped it. Couldn't wait to eat here and it was everything I could have hoped for. Everything is light and airy, the biscuits, the gravy, the chicken. The butters just melt in your mouth. And the coffee is great! I would actually recommend getting one of their biscuit plates and an extra biscuit just to be able to head to the butter and jam bar! You HAVE to come here. Oh, and the walk-up-and-order and then find your seat is perfect, with super quick delivery of food to your table. High quality, fast, and reasonably priced. read more

I'm only giving it 3 stars because Lauren was very rude & abruptly said no dogs inside without looking thats it's service dog... I said we're just standing inside the door to look at menu. She again rudely said no dogs she can't be in here.. I said do you have a paper menu we could look at outside, she walked away from us... so my husband went outside while I ordered. What an awesome find in Mount Pleasant! Found this place with a really long line on the way to the beach one morning. A few days later we stopped in to see what the line was about. We got there around eight and it was busy, the line was out the door. The wait was so worth it. Despite being busy the staff was excellent and very prepared for the crowds. Tables were cleaned quickly, coffee was full, and condiments always ready. The coffee was super delicious. The worst thing about the place was choosing which biscuit to order! When we finally decided I ended up being very glad we did not select sides because they were extremely delicious and filling. The bacon they used was that thick-cut expensive bacon you pass up at the grocery store because you want to save a buck. The biscuits were fresh and home-made. All sauces made in house. Delicious home-made butter. I will for sure be back if I'm in the Mount Pleasant area again. read more

Amazing place. Biscuits are huge and delicious. The coffee is very good and refills are free. It is self serve on the coffee. Please be considerate and do not cut the line to hold a table. Wait in line like everyone else. That being said, the line moves quickly and the food comes out really fast. Portions are very generous so if you go away hungry it is your own fault. I would advise you to get there early to avoid the line because it gets really long after 0900. We went on a Sunday at when we left at 1030 the line was 40 feet out the door waiting to get in. Awesome place and will definitely come back when in town. read more

Legit my fav place to eat. Something about those biscuits makes me go wild. I think this place has been around for about a year now and it's already one of Charleston's hot spots. I get the flame thrower, which is a Buffalo chicken biscuit with jalapeños and some other spicy sauce. To put it in one way.... FLAVORTASTIC!!!! One of my all time favorite breakfast joints. I had the flamethrower and it was amazing for brunch. I also recommend the signature Bloody Mary. It was one of the best I've ever had... pleasantly spiced and flavorful! The sausage gravy was pretty good but the maple sausage made it a little sweet for me. I just prefer a more savory one personally. In any case, the place is delicious and I look forward to trying more in the future!! read more

Walking in, it feels like all coffee shops should. Nice morning vibe. I ordered a Costa Rican pour over, and waited. It got busy quickly. I beat the rush! After paying nearly $8 for a cup of coffee I was expecting a lot. The coffee was strong, bright, and rich. Not acidic or bitter. Went in to 5 loaves today around 2 pm and sat outside. It wasn't very busy. Waitress tried to take out order while standing in side the restaurant insisting she didn't know who our server was and that she would find out. We made her come back to table so we could order like normal customers. She came back took all the orders at once and only came to check on us only when dropping something off. Food was alright, charged for an extra dressing and bread was as soggy as your first ex wife. For the inconvenience she offered us a free cookie which she brought out still wrapped not even warmed or on a plate. Funny thing is I was paying with a gift card from a previous messed up order where we picked up and they forgot to add the extra protein on all of our salads then when they remade the order they somehow did it again. The drinks we got were gross but she didn't ask and at this point we were over it. 71 dollars for a mediocre meal and bad service with a waitress who could care less if we lived or died. Funny after already having to give this place another shot from the previous mishap. Oh, the table next us was being served, got their food and drink before us and left before us as well. Not sure what happened there.

That may be a preference thing and I have high expectations for breakfast skillets. The blueberry jam was heaven and I'd eat it by the gallon if I could. I think next time I would try something else, like the Benedict. This is clearly a well loved and popular spot for breakfast. I wouldn't get my dish again, but it seems there are plenty of wonderful options on the menu.

There could have been several valid reasons for the price change. ... almost forgot that the same cashier spent a few minutes chatting with her friends at the register while I patiently stood in line waiting to pay. This place has a lot to learn about professionalism and customer service. Second State coffee and Spread are located in this same shopping center and they will get all of my business going forward.

We enjoyed an order of wings first, the dry rub bbq was so good. The wings were crispy and seasoned perfectly. Then the smash burgers arrived and OMG, they were amazing! The buns soft, the burgers crispy, with onions, cheese, and a delicious sauce. While Swig & Swine is known for some of the best BBQ, their burgers deliver great taste too. We have enjoyed Swig & Swine multiple times since they opened, and keep coming back.

I've been coming to Vicious Biscuit for years, and it never disappoints! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and this visit was no exception. Even though they were super busy, there were still open tables available, and our food came out quickly. I ordered the gluten-free biscuit, and honestly, I couldn't even tell it was gluten-free. It had the perfect crunchy outside and soft, fluffy inside and was absolutely delicious. The potatoes were crispy and flavorful, and the grits were rich, creamy, and cooked perfectly. One thing I always get when I come here is the orange juice, it's seriously my favorite orange juice in Charleston. It's so fresh and tastes amazing every time. Everything we ordered was fantastic, and the service was outstanding. It's clear they know how to handle a crowd while still delivering great food and a great experience. We visited Vicious Biscuit on a busy Saturday morning and it definitely lived up to the hype! We ordered the Vicious and the Fat Boy biscuit sandwiches. The Vicious was hands down our favorite - the gravy and jalapeño combo really hit the spot. As for the Fat Boy, while it was tasty, we're still getting used to Southern flavors like pimento cheese, which was a bit much for our current palate. The atmosphere inside was great, and we loved the little bar with different types of butter - a fun and unique touch! The line was long, but that's to be expected on a weekend morning, and it was totally worth the wait to satisfy our biscuit craving. Most of the menu items are hearty, so we probably won't come as often as we'd like (for the sake of our waistlines!), but we'll definitely be back. I'm no religious man, but today I met the lord in the form of a warm breaded dream of flour and spices... hugged tightly by a fried chicken straight from the breast of a hen in the garden of Eden. Even though it was a sin, she still took an obligation higher than herself to sacrifice her purity for the greater good of mankind. It was soft and harmless, yet full of emotions I didn't know I had to experience. I've had other worldly experiences in my time, however, I didn't know what they meant until this moment. Ahhh-mazing! I wanted a small breakfast but I went to the wrong place. Vicious Biscuit has an amazing variety of biscuits and breakfast items. I ordered the vicious biscuit and a coffee and I was shocked at how big it was. The biscuit reminded me of an oversized cheddar bay biscuit from Red Lobster, only better - and for breakfast! The chicken tasted like it was covered in honey and the jalapenoes added a nice kick. The gravy was excellent and thick. Don't plan on picking up this biscuit - you'll need a fork and a knife. read more

I stopped by Vicious Biscuit while out of town, and it was absolutely worth the visit. The restaurant was spacious and welcoming, making for a comfortable lunch experience. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and they were nothing short of divine--perfectly cooked shrimp, rich, flavorful grits, and just the right balance of seasoning. It was the kind of dish that makes you want to come back just for one more bite. Even though I was visiting from out of town, I'd definitely return next time I'm in the area.
