    French toast with bacon

We had breakfast here this morning. Since they live here, they come a lot but this was my first timing eating breakfast here. Cute place conveniently located. They had a variety of flavored coffee so I opted for the Charleston Praline and it was so yummy. The waitress was friendly and helpful. I ate the French toast with bacon, he had the waffles and breakfast burrito and she ate the tomato melt on a bagel. The food was so full of flavor and filling. It's so nice to find a place that has delicious food that doesn't break the bank. I'll be sure to come back next time I'm in town!

Sunrise Bistro on Johns Island, SC, is a delightful and cozy spot perfect for breakfast or brunch. This charming café offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a good place to start your day or enjoy a leisurely meal. The menu is full of delicious, hearty options, from classic breakfast dishes like delicious open faced Mediterranean omelets, eggs Benedict is very good and classic breakfast choices. The French toast sandwich is yummy. Their specialty coffee drinks and fresh juices pair perfectly with any meal. We have only been there a few times for breakfast but they pull a good brunch/lunch crowd. The service is friendly and efficient, making every visit feel special, and the relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere creates a perfect place to gather with friends or enjoy a peaceful morning alone. If you're on Johns Island and looking for a top-notch spot to enjoy breakfast or brunch, Sunrise Bistro is a must-visit. With its delicious food, welcoming vibe, and top-tier service, it's no wonder locals and visitors alike keep coming back! Only reasons a 4 out of 5 is its almost always crowded, no good place to wait outside, parking very limited. One of my favorite breakfast places on the island! The island can be a hit or miss as we found out earlier! Our problem is we expect great food and service! This place doesn't disappoint! It has bed areas 4 years since we have visited! Portion size is smaller and prices are a little higher! This place is best deal on the isle! I had the chicken fried steak benne! I order sunny side up but one egg was over easy! I still enjoyed it ! My son got scrambled eggs and sausage biscuits and gravy! My bride got a ope face tomato and cheese toast thing with a side of collards ! Ambiance was excellent and staff was on the money! Bathrooms are funny and weird! There is an entrance and exit! Coffee is self serve! Always a credit card fee!

From the moment we stepped in, we felt welcome. The service was great. So many people stopped by to ask how we were doing. Everyone was pitching in. The food, oh my! I got the firecracker shrimp and grits with herbed bread. Outstanding! My husband got the turkey sandwich with Cajun fries and was equally happy with his dish, but I still think mine was far superior to his. I mean, shrimp and grits!

A great little "locals" bistro offering comfort food. Sunrise Bistro is a good meal stop on your way to "the islands" and/or Wadmalaw Island/Rockville ~ as the cafe serves breakfast all day and lunch daily. The service is swift and attentive and the staff is always in constant motion making sure everyone is happy. Portions are large so you will leave very satisfied and happy! This morning I ordered the yogurt parfait - "deconstructed" with an additional bowl of fruit. The melba sauce that accompanies the yogurt parfait is delicious - rich texture and tart and not too sweet. ....and is a nice added touch. You can't go wrong with the open-face omelets ~ and many choices ~ which was the additional dish at our table. The self serve coffee bar is a great feature here. The coffee carafes are continuously replaced when empty so the three selections of coffee are guaranteed to be fresh and hot. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. For good "home cooking" that tastes like Mom's~ I would recommend Sunrise Bistro.

Visited Sunrise Bistro today. Service was fast, and the food was excellent. I had the Mediterranean Omelet with herb toast. It was delicious. I would recommend this place! Keep in mind, it's only open until 2:00 and 1:00 pm on Sundays. Closed on Monday.

my friend, Clark - She just ran a race and then ate here - she's very happy! So yum! Potatoes get in my tummy!

Food literally so fire! Come here! Service awesome! Ambiance super vibey! Got the Breakfast Burrito and I almost cried because it was so good! Everyone smiled and was happy.

So happy to have found this gem in John's Island, SC. The service was friendly and offered the complimentary coffee of our choice at the coffee bar! Our server was kind hearted and recommended the shrimp and grits, which was amazing! My tastebuds were delighted! The chicken biscuit n gravy was good as well.

We came for breakfast and started with the banana bread with Nutella cream cheese -- absolutely incredible. We also split the cornmeal pancakes, which were so good we came back the next morning just to have them again. I ordered the B.E.C. with the home fries, and I can honestly say they may have been the best potatoes I've ever had in any form. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and they practically melted in my mouth. My husband had the turkey club and said it was fantastic as well. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and memorable. We loved it so much we went back the very next day. 10/10 -- highly recommend if you're visiting Charleston!

Everything was pretty standard and there was not something that we absolutely loved. The grits were a heavier dish while the avocado on the toast was more like a spread. The chicken and waffle salad had waffle "croutons" but it kind of just tasted like an older waffle dried up. The chicken in the salad was a little thicker than it should have been. The pimento cheese and crackers were very tasty. The ambiance is fast casual and it is very hush there. Our server Hamilton was very kind and helpful.

Stopped in on a really hot day…read more I opted for the pepperoni pizza because it's supposed to be made in a brick fire oven. Taleggio was recommended to the party sitting next to us, but they had them add sausage, which I wish I had done, but I didn't know about it until my order was already put in. With that said, the pepperoni pizza was definitely a four out of five. The only thing that would have made it a five out of five was a little bit more moisture to the crust or some type of garlic butter to it. The flavor was really good on the pepperoni. The crust was nice and chewy as far as the underneath. 4/5 Before I tasted it, when the waitstaff, who wasn't our waiter, ended up bringing the pizza to us, they asked if we needed anything. We asked for a sauce. I asked them what sauces they had. They gave us a couple of options. I picked two sauces, but unbeknownst to me, those sauces were dips, and the dips were $3 each. The young lady did not tell us that, unfortunately. One of the sauces was a garlic sauce, and the other thing was the restaurant's rendition of ranch. Both were rather bland. I'd have to give them a 2 out of 5. They weren't nasty, but they lacked flavor. My wife ordered this shishuka, which would be the eggs, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She gave it a four out of five. I tasted it. The eggs were bland to me. I would give it a three out of five based on the two forkfuls that I had, but the waitstaff was amazing. I definitely want to go back to try their brunch and to try that other pizza without the extra sauces.

It was unique with the different flavors and textures on top that came together really nicely. Almond frangipane scone- I'm not the biggest fan of dried fruit in baked goods, but otherwise thought this was tasty and would want to get a scone/biscuit without dried fruit next time. Would recommend. Cinnamon twist- Tasty! Not mind blowing, but we enjoyed and would get again. Best friend/chocolate chip cookie- Loved that it was crispy on the outside and chewy in the center part and that it used a darker chocolate. Jam sesh- This was not our favorite and we wouldn't get it again. We just didn't think all the flavors worked together. Short + Sweet- The coffee cake was maybe a little overbaked. My friend liked it more than I did, but I didn't feel like I needed to have it again. Overall it's a good place to go with a few people and try a bunch of things and hang out!

The vibe is still effortlessly cozy and creative--flowers, greenery, unusual Christmas gifts, and those little bakery touches that make you want to linger over your latte.
