My family and have been coming to this place for years. Absolutely love it, staff is always friendly and focused on customer service, my mother is older and I appreciate how the staff (from the teenagers who top off water and coffee to the actual waiters) take time to listen to my mother's requests for extra coffee or substituting toast for some else on the menu. This is been a local staple for years so I thought I'd finally try it with a friend. I ended up getting a modified burger which was ok. The pepper jack didn't taste all that pepper jack to me. All of the items are named after coaches so if you want a sports themed place, Vic's is it. I heard the breakfast is really good here so maybe I'll try that next time. My girlfriend and I came for breakfast and it happened to be all you can eat buffet so we decided to eat at Vics. The food was pretty alright nothing to come back for. Nothing to say about the service because it was self serve. We were offered mimosas but we're under 21 and they didn't even check ids. The ambiance was very homie and welcoming inside though. Wouldn't come back unfortunately because the buffet costs $40 for an adult which is definitely overpriced for what you're getting in terms of quality and experience. read more

I've been to Vic's a total of 4 times within a week! Always seated quickly! The service staff is doing a great job under the Covid circumstances. It's summer, warm and I would expect a few bugs flying around! The food is fresh, tasty and the portion sizes are perfect! The staff is attentive! Never had a bad meal and their country fried steak and Chili's verde is awesome! I had their Bloody Mary with a vodka substitute, EXCELLENT! This is now my go-to breakfast place. I went to Bills Cafe for my morning meals but now going to Vic's. Prices are considerably lower and there's nothing I can find that that I would have any issues! Service was good, workers were friendly and helpful. Seated quickly and made room for everybody in our group. However, cleanliness is an issue at this establishment. One person in our party had a bug in her water and asked for another, and then received a cup that was clearly dirty. Another asked for a side of mayo and it came with a bug in it. The food came out at fairy different times for everyone in the party and not all together. Some people work done before others even got their food. the 5 stars is for the customer service First I asked for a table outside when all tables were busy, so they asked me to wait for 15 mins, so while I was waiting I was offered water and coffee by the busboy, that was a nice gesture! After 25 mins of waiting no outside table was available yet, so I decided to take a table inside and just order after another 10-15 mins, my food arrived, but right after that a table outside was available, so one of the waiters asked me if I'm still interested to move outside! wow, another sign that they really care about customers!! So I went outside and they helped me to carry my plates there! After I started eating, the egg was very runny as if it had splash of water in it, I pointed that out to the server and he gladly got me a new plate of eggs and didn't take the other one away, 3rd strike :) they kept checking on me with a smile, which made my day. There has not been a single dish that I've tried that I didn't love! My personal favorite is the green chilaquiles! They have so much flavor and great texture! Their orange cinnamon tea is delicious. Totally recommend to anyone who loved brunch ad much as I do. read more

I can tell you that Vic's has been apart of my life for better or worse every Thursday morning for the last 10 years since my networking group, the Trivalley Executives meets there once a week. The restuarant is under new ownership but we haven't had a chance to go there ever since the pandemic has shut all the restaurants down. Before the change of ownership, I couldn't stand the food there. It was horrible! But today, I wanted to stop by and try the new menu and see how they were doing. The food was much better and better options. Laura, the owner, seems to be doing well and she is ready for customers. I highly recommend this place!!! read more

Long time patron, was our goto place when compared to other breakfast joints around town due to less wait time. Today we did our usual, stopped by Bill's and they said 45 mins, our boys were hungry so we went to Vic's...got there and got sat right away (didn't look too crowded) got our beverages (the gals are usually pretty quick with that) then we waited over15 mins before we asked for our server...he came over and the first thing he said was "I don't know? the front just asked me to take your order, you're not in my station... mind you we sat patiently observing, no other server was working the patio, he took orders from tables behind us and on our left and right hand side...so not sure how our table was the only one not in his station, but whatevers. During our additonal 35 mins wait for our food we made the best of it to distract our boys streaming NFL on our phones and etc... Figured it is what it is... food came and we were ready to feast, but only to dig into cold food...not 1, but all 5 plates! We had burnt cold bacon in an omlete, my chilaquiles was just plain cold green sauce over tortillas (only things hot were the eggs), and kids french toast were mildly warm with cold bacon and sauages! I understand you guys are short staff, but service was not warm and welcoming and the food besides being cold, the taste and quality is not what it's used to be...sorry we will not be back! read more

Vic's is awesome! I grew up going to Vic's (and having my sports photos on the wall (if you know the place you know:). I stopped going for years because maybe I outgrew the menu? Recently they have really amped up their outdoor seating area, and more importantly the food is so fresh now! The omelettes and salads are made with fresh ingredients and are generous. They have great Micheladas, the staff is so friendly, and more recently they started doing a taco stand on Tuesday evenings and the weekends which is amazing! read more

Heard great things about Vic's, so decided to visit on July 4th. While we were sitting we were asked for our drink order, we gave it. Again a new server comes by and asks for our drink order. We did mention that another server took our order. The pattern continued till a fourth server came by with the same question. We told them that this was the fourth server who asked and guess what 20 min still waiting for coffee. Finally we get the long awaited coffee. Our order was taken, another 20-25 min go by, we do not get our order. Called one of the servers and asked if it would take more time. Then we got our order after 10 min. Service was not great for sure, food was okay. Felt like they were doing us a favor by serving us. We did give a tip since it is a management problem and did not want the servers to lose out. Experience was bad enough for us to not go there again. read more

Vic's offers outdoor dining on their covered patio or under the tent that they have set up in the parking lot. Heat lamps were placed here and there and the staff were great about trying to position them so they were near the tables. Staff were all observed wearing masks correctly and tables were cleaned between customers. One criticism is that there was a used creamer container in the bowl of creamers that was brought to the table with our coffee. Shame on the customer that put their used creamer container back in the bowl and shame on Vic's for not removing it. I ordered the Coach Madden (corned beef hash, hash browns, 2 eggs) and it was served nice and hot. It's definitely my favorite dish at Vic's. read more

Loved this place for breakfast especially loved the personalized touch of having dishes named after local coaches. Sadly I learned that Don Underwood no longer has a dish named after him. Talk about taking the shine off of that penny. Shame on you Vic for not honoring the retired coaches of the Tri-valley area. Coach Underwood coached at AVHS for over 30 years. I frequently eat at other restaurants on this street. Parking can be a bit troublesome, so it's often necessary to park near here, since it's practically the end of the street. That we've had to park in this vicinity is why I even know of the existence of this restaurant. But strangely enough, the three of us decided to try this place because of how it smelled. Yes, the smell. There's often the scent of cinnamon and maple syrup emanating from this place. If you care about formality in dining, look somewhere else. The place is very basic and simple, as is the food presentation. Even their website looks like something circa 1997. The food is served on plain plastic plates. And as the name suggests, it's very sport-themed. I had the "Coach Buttler" (eggs benedict). My dining companion, Mr. Gucci, had french toast. My other companion, Mr. Ham, had the pancakes ... oops, I mean "Coach Jones". They also had mimosas. They were served in plain glasses, not the usual wine glasses or champagne flutes you'd normally expect with a mimosa. The food was fine. Portions were a bit on the small side, but acceptable. Quality was good. Mr. Ham really enjoyed his mimosas. Plural. He enjoyed them so much, in fact, that I got to drive back. I'm neither wowed nor upset by the experience. The food is good, not great. It's enough to get me to return, in all likelihood. read more

I have been to Vic's many times in the past. The last couple times I have went the price has gone up and the quality has gone down.. I order the same thing everytime I go. I always order "the Coach Cesaro" - scrambled eggs and diced ham with country potatoes. Lately every time I go the potatoes have been undercooked and its majority ham and under seasoned. I went 8/22/23, I chose to dine with a friend and I ordered my regular, which was not served with the usual toast, and a coke. My friend order scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage with water. The waiter forgot his water until we mentioned something after our food was served and I had asked for a straw twice, which was received after my meal was almost finished. My friend's meal came with scrambled eggs and bacon with fruit, no sausage. The waiter said he didn't ask for sausage, which was untrue, my friend shrugged it off because we only had an hr for lunch before returning to work and couldn't wait any longer. We received a bill that was not automized which was $43. Weird, that a scrambled eggs and diced ham and potatoes (which is usually about $17 without the coke) w/ a coke and scrambled eggs and bacon w/ fruit could cost $43, didn't have the time to ask for a break down so paid and gave a $3 tip for the not so great service and incorrect order. 9/5/23 I check my credit card statement and the waiter, Mauricio, G, decided to add a extra $3 to his tip (bringing it to a $6 tip) bringing my bill over $50 for the above .... ridiculous and untruthful. I will never be dining here again and I do not recommend... highly over priced, poor quality of food & service, not to mention them charging for something that was not given. I will never dine here again on principle alone! Furious to say the least. read more

I'm not sure if this will seem fair, but the only way I know how to review this place is to compare it to our favorite breakfast place in town. And well, there's really no comparison. Our favorite place is Jim's by the way. I went here with my daughter for breakfast because we had actually heard good things. Well, I ended up being very disappointed. I ordered an omelet and it was just okay. They served it with hash browns that were also just okay. My daughter ordered side dishes of bacon, hash browns and toast and only ended up eating the bacon. The hash browns had no flavor and so we ended up having to heavily salt them which is never good either. Lots of ketchup too. Her toast was toast, but it was served cold which sorta ruins toast. I'd like to say I'd go back, but I'm not sure I will. I know many locals really swear by this place and I wish our experience had been better. But with Jim's less than a mile away, and now there's Stephanie's pretty close by too, it's hard for me to imagine that I could choose Vic's given the other options. : ( read more

I always love little family owned places and Vic's is no exception! Very cute and spacey inside; walls are completely covered with neighborhood sports teams! During my visit it was overrun with an older crowd for brunch; very quiet with happy talk. Service was ok but a little slow to take our order and a long wait for our food. Our plates were good and seemed to be named after neighborhood coaches maybe? Either way, very good food in good quantities. Only complaint is that my potatoes weren't cooked all the way. So I went here for an afternoon breakfast, skipping our usual favorite spot (Main Street Brewery). I was immediately put off by the uncharming decor - I'm not a baseball fan, sorry. The cheesy names on the menu weren't too impressive either - and when I ordered an omelet by saying, "I want a cheese and spinach omelet," I really don't think my waitress needed to correct me by calling it a "Babe Ruth" or whatever the hell cutesy name they had for it. Next comes the owner, or at least some lady that wasn't doing much, to tell us, "I'm sorry we're closing because one of the bathrooms is out of order; but since you're already in here you can stay." Gee thanks; in 24 hrs I'm going to wish you'd kicked me out.... Food was greasy and not in a good way: the grease they used on the griddle tasted about three months old (give or take), not good at all. No flavor from anything on the plate except that grease. My companion's salad looked like a heaping mess inside a greasy deep fried taco shell. I only ate half, thank goodness. Next day I spent at home, no more than a short jog from the toilet. No wonder their bathroom was out of order - from overuse. NEVER AGAIN. I'm shocked at how bad the food and service were for a place like Pleasanton. read more
