I have minor complaints, but at the end of the day he handled a large project for us in a timely manner. He and his crew were kind and accommodating. His team handled (1) laying radiant heat coils, (2) applying self-leveling compound both to solve leveling issues and to secure the radiant heat, (3) floating Rigid Core Vinyl Planks, (4) adding new baseboards, (5) running new circuits for each heated area, and (6) drywall repair. I'm grateful for their renovation efforts. Before I go into minor quibbles, I'll reiterate that the job was done and I'm happy with it. I can't wait to use his team for future projects once the funds are replenished. This review is only to inform his great crew on ways to improve minor details. They range from "Aesthetic" to "Technical" critiques. (1) Layout (Aesthetic). The lengths of starting planks were staggered in a clear 2-step pattern. It reduces the "natural" look of things; See the attached image to (2) Polish (Aesthetic). Shims for baseboards weren't cleaned off with utility knives or anything so there's lots of little spots with wood poking out from behind the baseboard. I know these 70 year old walls were probably a challenge to baseboard, so it's all good. There were also several spots on the walls and doors that got damaged during the installation. It's no biggy though, since we just moved in and the basement was very "DIY" from the previous owner and poorly done anyway. (3) Patterns (Aesthetic). Normally when boards are laid out from several boxes, you mix and match from the boxes so you get more variety of patterns. In the implementation in my home, there are several areas where identical boards are right next to one another so it looks less "natural" (4) "Playing it Safe" (Technical). All technical guidelines of the radiant heating system we used warned of testing the current and functionality before laying down compound over it since there's no turning back once that's been done. This test wasn't done - it ended up fine, and everything worked, but had any of the product been found to be faulty the final day of installation when they plugged it all in, there'd be some major problems. (5) Plank Minimum Widths (Technical). Typically planks have minimum widths they are permitted to be for stability. To plan for these minimums, you often place planks from the center of the room in both directions to find out where the widths are too short and you compensate by shifting things left or right. There are locations in the installation where these minimums were exceeded, but they were covered by the baseboards so it's probably fine. (5) Leveling Compound (Aesthetic). There ended up being some spots where it's off-level enough that I get some significant flex to the boards as I walk over them. It makes me a bit nervous that they'll pop in years to come, but it should be fine. I should note that there ended up being way more leveling compound required than initially expected, so I understand that there are some variations just because how much needed to be laid. But enough of the negatives, let's chat about what went right: (1) During this difficult time, they were able to come out and get me ready to work from home in less than a week. (2) They were appreciative of the situation, especially with my wife's hospital profession, and took necessary precautions to insulate their work area from the rest of the house. (3) They were flexible to meet some requests of mine during the work, such as repairing drywall, installing thresholds, and making sure the planks were oriented in a certain direction. (4) They were willing to work even though the area was littered with furniture and boxes from our recent move in. They handled all of my grandmother's furniture with care, and made sure it was all safe as they worked. (5) They were friendly, kind, and responsive at all times. Victor's the classic contractor / handyman who's seen it all. (6) They rolled with the punches as the unexpected arose: baseboards, self-leveling compound, and square footage all didn't match original expectations and they were able to quickly pivot and make sure everything was done on time. (7) They alerted me of problems right when they happened. My sump pump failed and they were the first to let me know! We managed to resolve the problem before any damage was done. They showed up no masks, did the wrong job completely. They were supposed to sand and stain my deck but power washed it and painted it. We gave Faustino the product number and he decided to use a different product. The one we choose was a light stain and he used a solid black. What we wanted was a beautiful wood stain deck and what we got was an ugly black deck. He did not sand it therefor ruining the wood that we already had down. Bathroom falling apart in less than 2 years. (should last for 20+ years!) tile is cracking, toilet seat not installed properly, baseboards improperly installed, shower door sticking and tile underneath uneven. Over $28K for the work in this bathroom and this is the result. Mr. Faustino came out and acknowledged the substandard work and boasted that subcontractors are never used and all work was done by his own employees but refused to do anything about it since it was out of the one year warranty. We hired Victor and his team earlier this year to repair some drywall in our basement and install new vinyl flooring. He did a terrible job on the floors and refused to fix it when we were unsatisfied. Even though I told him that the subfloor was uneven and needed to be levelled out before installing the floors, he did not do it. I am reminded of his shoddy work every time I walk across our uneven floors. It's just terrible. I do not recommend him. read more

I am surprised by the bad reviews, because we have been using Victor's services for 7 years now, first in our condo and now in our house in Kensington, and every job was always done really well & with care. His employees re-did our condo's shoddy kitchen floor, which had layers upon layers of linoleum. They ripped everything, found that the base board was pretty mushy, and upgraded everything to a sturdy flooring with tiles. In our house, they also re-did some drywalls, installed insulation, installed an attic ladder, installed a beautiful laminate flooring in our basement. Every single time, the job was done nicely, the rooms were left clean and re-arranged with the furniture, and the debris taken out to the trash or hauled away by them. We just had them paint the front of our house, and they will soon be building a small deck by our kitchen door. Sorry for the bad experiences. Because of the space in our condo, the way a door to our den was installed didn't make sense. It actually made the space less convenient. Victor and his team did a great job reversing our door, reinstalling it, and adding a really nice transom window above it to fill in the space above the door. Whoever had it installed originally had only put in the door but left the space open above. It looks much more complete now. Communication with Victor was good throughout the process. He made sure that the measurements were precise so when the guys came the day of, everything was completed. I used Mr. Faustino's service for a day to get a snag list completed before placing my house on the market. When I arrived to check the work I found out that Mr. Faustino never came to the house at all. I was billed $80.00 / hr. and was told that he and huis partner would be there to do the work. Only one man showed up and did all of the work painted the one bedroom the wrong color so it had to be re-done. initial response time is great. Communication and follow up per the contract is poor. Trying to sell my house. Signing the contract was the best part; however problems with lack of communication resulted in the wrong granite being installed, delays due to re installation of the correct granite, failure to complete finishing work around granite and attempting to tell me that finishing work isn't included in the contract and failing to install granite clips per the contract resulting in the dishwasher tipping over. Theae were just a few of my concerns. After numerous calls and emails the other work is done but the granite clips still haven't been installed and I am scheduled to sell my house. My husband and I were so happy with Victor and his team. We are first-time homeowners and this was our first major home construction project, so we were really nervous. There were a lot of small moving parts--a wall that needed to be moved, new electrical outlet and light fixture, matching the flooring and baseboards, etc. etc--and it all came together without any hassle.
