After an awesome day at the beach, all we wanted was a solid happy hour and Victor's delivered exactly that when not many restn'ts on the strip don't offer it. Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood (a nice break from busy Commercial St.), this spot instantly won us over with their happy hour menu AND $1.50 oysters. The vibe is a great mix: white tablecloths and the wainscoting add a touch of calmness but the overall atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. From the waitstaff to the busboys, it felt carefree and fun. Very Ptown. The oysters were the star. Small but briny, slightly sweet and silky smooth. We devoured 18 and easily could've gone for another round. My Lychee Martini was dangerously strong even at 2 p.m. The tuna+avocado and shrimp cocktail were fresh and flavorful, though the crispy calamari fell flat with too many peppers piled on. Service was excellent. Our server Manny was attentive and on top of everything down to the hostess and busboys who kept things running smoothly. Another fantastic meal at Victor's. It's hard to know where to begin as this place has so much going on. First, the ambience. Beautiful classy decor with subtle hues and styling. The service is spectacular with great attention to detail. The cocktails a fantastic - outstanding bartender. The food is over the moon. I had the halibut and was cooked to perfection. I went alone and was sat at the bar which is fine. I was immediate greeted by the bartender and ordered the lavender haze to drink. For food I got the vegan grain bowl and a side of grilled asparagus. The bowl came out pretty quickly. It was honestly just so-so for me. I was expecting it to be served hot/warm but it was chilled (I think it was meant to be cold) The grilled asparagus took a while, but when it finally arrived it was delicious. On a cold and bustling Saturday evening, during the festive Holly Jolly weekend, my sweetheart and I were looking to squeeze in an early dinner - and Wellfleet oysters. Nearly everything in town was booked. Victor's advertised a Happy Hour from 5-6, with half-priced oysters and shrimp cocktail. On a Saturday night! We called and were able to secure the last two seats at the bar. And what a snazzy bar it was. The barkeep was excellent - unobtrusive yet attentive, serene, and professional. The decor was upscale and fresh. And the food was outstanding. Of course, the oysters speak for themselves but Victor's mignonette and cocktail sauce helped them sing. We tried two other appetizers, both delectable and unique. The tuna was velvety and buttery, and the coconut shrimp was the best we'd ever tasted. The best restaurant ever. This is our go-to in our yearly trip to P-Town. We love the people, the servers, the atmosphere and where it is, and we already start to miss it while eating our dessert. The quality of the food, the choices, the ceviche, drinks, meatballs, and all tapas, are second to none. The restaurant is clean, the bathroom is spotless, the servers are hot. I mean what else do you want? I always leave a nice drawing in the table, and we always sit at the fireplace because it's where we sat the very first time we came years ago. If you hit up Provincetown each year, you must reserve an afternoon to do a happy hour at Victor's! They have a raw bar happy hour that is super cheap, and the selections are all yummy! We typically get their shrimp cocktail (and note that the shrimp are HUGE), clams on a half shell, oysters on the half shell, and French Fries. I would recommend getting all of this, because the price is right, baby! During happy hour, Victor's also features a number of well-priced cocktails! You are certain to find something that you will enjoy! And enjoy all you want because you can't just order one drink at happy hour now can you? :) I have yet to visit Victor's for dinner, but if it's anything like their raw bar happy hour, sign me up!! We've been dining at Victor's twice per season for the past 3 years. I'm sad to say it, but this past Saturday will be our last time dining at, what once was, our favorite restaurant in Ptown. When we found Victor's 3 years ago, there was a dress code, and it felt like you were "dressing up" for a night out. It was quiet when dining. The music was of a chill background mood setting volume. The hostess was bubbly and friendly. The servers were attentive, polite and well dressed. The food was elegantly presented, expertly prepared, and worth the extra cost for a special dinner out. I won't be "that guy" and come here and just hand out a nasty 1-star rating over a single poor experience. I'm being fair and offering, what I hope will be, valuable feedback that the owner might pay attention to, and future visitors can be aware of in advance. 1 - They've ditched the dress code, for both guests and staff. The first time we dined here, our waiter had a button-down collared shirt, dress pants and shiny black shoes. This time our waiter had a blue hoodie, baggy pants and sneakers. One of the hostesses was wearing a baggy sweatshirt with MALIBU across the front. Some of the waiters were in shorts and sneakers. We were most taken aback when 2 gentlemen walked in and were seated at the table next to ours, and one of them was wearing a t-shirt, shorts, white socks, sneakers, and a baseball cap. The other was wearing a sweater, swimsuit and sneakers. There's nothing wrong with any of this if you're dining at a place like Lobster Pot or somewhere in town that charges $15 for a burger and fries, but it's not at all what we expect when we dine at Victor's. We were dressed up nicely in dress pants, collared button-downs and dress shoes. Dude never even removed his baseball cap. Completely unacceptable. 2 - The music was just too loud to enjoy the meal, and no, we're not old and cranky. Turn it down or find a way to keep your happy hour noise in the bar area. Put up a glass wall between the bar and the dining room. Between the music and the very loud conversations/shouting/hooting and hollering going on from the bar area, it was impossible to relax and enjoy the $200+ meal. 3 - The hostess, who, in the past, was always cheerful and kind, acted like she was doing us a favor by having us seated. She didn't say anything out of line, she didn't cause a problem, she was just miserable and "there". She didn't make eye contact, she just said "do you have a reservation?" and then summoned her helper "Malibu" to take over. "Malibu" was just a walking attitude problem. She didn't even ask us to follow her, she just started walking to our table and looked behind her half-way to make sure we were following along. She put down 2 menu's and walked away without a word. It was like going to Denny's. 4 - We had never seen our server before, and he didn't even offer his name. He was completely disinterested in us and also acted like he was doing us a favor. There was nothing he necessarily did wrong, but when dining at Victor's in all our past visits, we have been treated like royalty by our servers, so it felt like he wasn't doing things "right", if that makes sense. He just acted like he didn't want to be there and we were a burden on him. We felt ignored and problematic. 5 - The food was actually the best part of the dinner Saturday night, which is good, but, it wasn't what it used to be. The prices have gone up, but the quality, flavor and presentation have gone down. (Did you get new kitchen staff since we were just there in June? It's like completely different people prepared our food from all past visits). We got a lot of repeat dishes, but this time everything looked and tasted different. I like the cod dish, but this time it was SO spicy hot that I got a sweaty forehead and runny nose. There are so many "fine dining" options on and around Commercial Street. When paying as much as Victor's charges for food, you should never have to experience what we did this past Saturday night. We will simply take our money elsewhere. Thank you for reading. read more

First time visiting & this place was recommended for their happy hour by a couple we met in passing. Seeing that we couldn't decide on where to go, we naturally went with the recommendation. It's a 12min walk from the busy strip, but we didn't mind. Upon arriving, we were immediately greeted. After letting the host know our party of 3 didn't have reservations, he was still very accomendsting & let us dine at at table with a time limit. In looking at the "happy hour" menu, there were great selections but the prices wouldn't make you happy & there were no special drinks listed. However, the drinks we did order were perfection. I had the tartar & calamari. These two were divine! I didn't want to share. The other orders were fries & the sliders. These two didn't realize they were getting 2 orders of fries & the waiter didn't point it out. I didn't take pictures of their food, but the slider were thick. Everyone here was so pleasant & upbeat. All tables were under constant watch for empty plates or glasses to be removed or refilled. We also found out that checks cannot be split 3 ways but they did offer 1/3. We figured it out. read more

July 2023, we always love coming to Victor's to eat, and I advise you to make reservations. The staff here are wonderful, and the food fabulous tasting. We sat inside by the window and ordered the following. The Vegetable Spring Rolls with lemongrass cashew pesto was delicious and the Sizzling Asian Style Skirt Steak came out steaming hot and cooked to perfection. While the restaurants in Provincetown tend to run from barely ok to just a little better than ok, wow! I know the places like Mews, Lobster Pot, Ciro and Sal's fall into the "must go" places when visiting and I'm certainly not criticizing them. However, if you want Serious food and high quality cocktails, this is the place! Outstanding service, cool presentation, and great quality. I had the oysters which are from Wellfleet so you know they'll be delicious. Nothing special there but the mignonette sauce was great, and the cocktail sauce had extra horseradish! Attention to detail because many of us Love extra spice! Next I tried the Ahi Napoleon. It was better than your average but in this town, better than average is awesome. I know... to order another small dish is a little overboard but I hadn't eaten anything all day and I took a chance on the Cocunut Shrimp. Woah... probably the best I've ever had! The Jicama Straw was so well matched and I added a little Tabasco which upped the spice and balanced well with the Thai Chili sauce. Next up was the Halibut Filet which I substituted Fries for the Fingerlings. Sorry, unless you mash Fingerlings I have no interest in them... The Halibut and Asparagus was perfectly cooked and delicious! The fries while they tasted good are not the fresh cut type but the type that has this bizarre coating many places have that I will never understand. Didn't have dessert but I have to say Martin the bartender was amazing, attentive, and super friendly. In a town with quite a few "snooty" bartenders, Martin wins best bartender in Provincetown for me. Ok. Move forward two weeks and I'm back in Provincetown again ! I meant to post the first review but apparently never hit the "post review" button... Had the oysters again which were excellent. Next up was the Tuna Tartare which I think has a slight edge on the Tuna Napoleon mainly because it had corn chips. Highly recommended and delicious. I posted a pic of the Coconut Shrimp which I had to get again! I finished up with the Burger Sliders which were awesome and up to par with everything. I can't wait to visit P-town again simply to eat at Victor's. It's one of the best restaurants that I've been to in this neighborhood for a variety of reasons: ambience, great service, outstanding food, delicious cocktails. We didn't have a reservation. I would recommend reservations during busy season for sure.The gentleman that seated us, however, was able to accommodate us. He led us to a very nice sized table and let us know that we had plenty of time to enjoy. The rest of the staff that we interacted with were also terrific. Ze food? Ze beverages? Read on: Friends of ours recommended the white Cosmo... I wound up having two of them. Not driving! They were quite refreshing and delicious...without completely knocking your brain into complete oblivion. Since we missed the oyster happy hour we chose the raw bar tower which included sashimi - both tuna and salmon tartare -along with seaweed salad, ginger, wasabi and a soy/sesame oil dipping sauce. Divine! This L-shaped plate was served first and beautifully presented. The rest of the order, which included six jumbo shrimp, six oysters and six clams arrived shortly after. These oysters were the best I've had on the cape so far this week. Hands-down. The shrimp and clams were outstanding as well. We ordered a few plates to share including: roasted brussels sprouts, chopped salad and dates wrapped in bacon. Everything was absolutely amazing.
