This nearly empty restaurant has good bones. The staff is friendly and the building is perfect. We arrived in late September and that means nearly everything in the town was closed for the year. (That's a whole different problem). The very best part of the meal was the drinks. They were perfectly crafted but the most expensive I've ever seen and I've eaten at famous restaurants. This place needs to have drink prices that lure in locals and those passing through so they will eat tons of food. The huachango frito was a nicely fried red napper. It was on the small side but it was nice to find the few hole fish dish available. It was served with a decent portion of sides on a large platter. The presentation was perfect. The rice was fluffy but the beans were awful. The beans literally tasted like a cigarette. I'm not sure how that could happen as beans are pretty easy to cook. The camarones tapatios is a shrimp dish that had a sauce over shrimp with cheese. It also came with the same sides on a giant platter. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The beans were still yuck but my biggest question was the cheese. They really needed to just put some Monterey Jack or cheddar on the dish. The mystery queso dip didn't add anything good. Overall, I didn't go hungry. There was a good ambiance and the staff was nice. With a few tweaks this place could be really successful. read more

Great Mexican food for the lakes region. Service was slow but that is to be expected when a restaurant first opens. They will get the kinks worked out Margaritas were fresh squeezed and delicious. It would be nice if they had a tequila list with prices. I picked one of my favorites but had no clue what I was paying for my drink and I wasn't going to ask when I ordered. (I'm not that gauche). The chips that came with the drinks were great. Salsa was a bit bland but I suppose you need to keep the spice levels low in central New Hampshire. Entrees came out faster than expected. Fajitas were not sizzling but not cold. The taste was spot on. Pollo Mexicano was delicious as well. I highly recommend you try Vida out. They'll get the kinks worked out in time and hopefully will stand the test of time. read more

The food here is delicious and the bar area upstairs is nice spot to have some drinks. For everyone complaining about the service, it's hard right now. It's difficult to find people who want to work and I bet it's impossible and fully staff a small local restaurant on a busy night. The government is still paying people to stay home and not work. The servers that they have are amazing and friendly and they are doing their best. Give them a break and support your local businesses instead of trashing them for trying. read more

I completely agree with the review that Kate C left. We were a group of four and it was our waitress's first night. We all asked for water, she brought one glass and one straw, so we had to ask for the other three. My husband ordered an appetizer, which only came with his meal, and when I meals came, they were staggered. Meal #1 came alone, and it was the wrong dish. Meals #2 and 3 came about 5 minutes later and my meal came about 10 minutes after that. I ordered the chimichanga, and like Kate said, it pretty much ruined the dish. The meals came on HUGE plates that took up all of the table space. They did comp my meal because it came after everyone was done, but they charged me for two glasses of wine but I only had one. Food was super yummy! I loved my skinny margaritas and fajitas. My partner ordered the tilapia tacos and they were just fish and tortilla, which was surprising. Everything was delicious and the margaritas were good! Service was slow (because they were packed) which is a good thing! New restaurants tend to have a lot of kinks to work out, so patience and understanding is not only valuable, but the courteous approach to have. I was so impressed by Vida .... despite being brand new, I was able to identify a cohesive team already from the welcome greeting to the warm goodbye. The staff are still learning, but their kindness and commitment to providing a great product to this community was evident. The portions were gigantic, the recipes delicious, the ambiance inviting (even a children's bookshelf which is so thoughtful) and we all left more than satisfied with the experience. Such a great addition to the area!!! I wish them nothing but great success; let's lift them up, starting a business during a pandemic is courageous, and they're off to a great start! read more

Went for late lunch (3 p.m.) Sydney B. was bartender and sole waitress. We found out later it was her second day. She did great. Food was fresh and appealing. Our large family was accommodated right away in this lively, brightly decorated restaurant. Warm chips and salsa were delivered to the table right away and the appetizers we ordered soon after. The entrees were generous and delicious. Everyone in our party loved their meal and took home what they couldn't finish. Sometimes rice and beans seem like an afterthought at some restaurants-- not at Vida! The sides were just as delicious as the main dish. The waitstaff was friendly. What a treat! read more

Soooooo good! Went for lunch with hubby to check it out for the first time. He had a margarita flight which was very tasty. I got beef tacos on hardshell with a side of refried beans and guacamole. Hubby got steak fajitas. We were both VERY happy with our choices!! The refried beans were AMAZING! They have a smoky chipotle taste and we agreed that the guacamole was the best we've ever had at a restaurant. We will definitely be back and can't wait to try more!! read more

Is really not difficult to make good Mexican food, fresh ingredients can make it enjoyable. Vida's food is neither fresh or tasty, it's terrible. Salsa is tasteless, beans were cold on a really hot plate and the guacamole is not fresh and has some weird metallic flavor. $25 for absolute crap. On top of the food being bad it was also dirty. Tried this place after driving by it for a few years. During COVID, there's only two guys working up there on weekdays, and they worked non-stop in a pretty full room. We got there early, was only the third table, and within 45 minutes the place was full. The drinks are fantastic and the draft beers are great. The menu is extensive, and the people are friendly and attentive. There were three of us. I had a 24 ounce draft beer and a jumbo burrito and even I had trouble finishing it. This place has the biggest portions in the area. It had a heavy queso and smoky flavor - a little unique - and I am a big fan. It is garnished with fresh tomato and lettuce and the rice is amazing. My daughter had a margarita and a Burrito and after 45 minutes you couldn't even tell it had been worked on. She brought it home and worked on it for 2 more days. She loved hers. My wife had the taco salad with chicken, and she said she was very happy with it. She couldn't finish hers, either. The Bill came in at a little over $90 without tip. So for service - 4 stars. For food quality - 4 stars. For portions - 5 stars. Cost - 5 Stars. We will be back! read more

A real good mexican place. Salsa a bit different than most i've had but really flavorful. We had the combo specials and they were real good. Mine was tamal and shreaded beef burito with mex rice and freholes. Cats' was a ground beef enchalada and a tamal with rice and guacamole. We usually sit at the bar when we go out to eat so i can't comment on the wait staff in dining room, only the bar which is upstairs. Margharitas were good. Only drawback was our waiter/bartender was not only brand new, but had a small problem understanding english and using the ordering system. I ordered shreaded beef for burito but got ground beef. ( was very tasty). They made it right and was real good. The tamals were filled with shreaded pork and they were very 'mo'. read more

Stopped by here while on vacation and after wrapping up at the adjacent go-kart place. Nice restaurant with outdoor seating and two levels of space inside. We came at a slow weekday lunch hour and were seated upstairs near the large bar. Service was very quick and attentive - refilling drinks, chips, salsa, etc. Chips were freshly made/still warm and salsa was very good too. We had taco and enchilada lunch specials. Better than average, fair prices, very good service. I think the restaurant/food options are somewhat lacking in the area, but Vida is one the best options! read more

This was the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. We were visiting from Virginia and decided to try there. Their portions are huge and served on the biggest plates I've ever seen!! My chimichanga was delicious. Most Mexican restaurants don't use much seasoning and this chef really uses spices. My only regret is that they aren't here where I live. read more
