We were going to spend the entire day shopping for a new TV--a replacement for one that died the day before. It was New Year's Day, January 1, and we knew Costco was closed so that was out, and we figured we wouldn't have any luck finding an open store, but we started out anyway at Video Only. All the research had been done; my husband could talk the talk and even had our copy of Consumer Reports in hand. We knew what prices to expect, which models, size, picture quality, and that it had to be wall mounted. Unbelievably, within a half hour we had bought a brand new 85" Samsung. The sales manager, Fred A., turned out to be quite the expert and quickly figured out our needs. He easily beat the Costco pricing, and offered us an unbeatable insurance policy for 5 years. He also sold us a sound bar, which solved our stereo issues. And finally, he hooked us up with the installer they recommend to all their customers. We were told it would take weeks because of a busy schedule, but it was installed in five days due to a cancellation, which was great. But what you don't get if you shop at Video Only is a fancy showroom with carpeting, sofas and loads of other electronics to shop for. It is warehouse style, and you'll only find TVs and sound bars. If they sell anything else, we didn't see it. There might be cables and small items like that on the wall behind the counter, though. As someone who works in the technology industry, almost all my shopping is done online because of all its conveniences. Very rarely, I'll come across a level of customer service that makes me re-think my consumer habits entirely. This is one of those places. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, they don't try to up sell you on things you don't need, and they work at perfect medium of being close enough to offer help when you need it, while still giving you all the space you need. I've driven by this place numerous times but came by as my husband was searching for his perfect TV. We were debating between a Sony and a Samsung and would have settled on one at Best Buy but the size we were looking for wasn't available. We had made several trips-to Best Buy, Sears, and some others. The prices here beat all the others and service was very friendly. They would have been able to ship the TV out same day but we came rather late so it arrived early next day. You can shop around (especially online) but as far as I can tell, the prices here are the best. Got a 75'' TV with android, sound bar, warranty for the TV and they threw in a phone case and a cable. This place sells TVs and home audio. No really they do. Despite the name, they don't rent video tapes. And they have fairly good prices. I bought a center and an amp for less than Frys, Best Buy, Amazon, and Google search. You just have to look past the fact that they fired their marketing department in 1985 and senior management probably think the kids still roller skate outdoors. The decor is spartan. They show up in a Google search for electronics store on page three. Their website is very 1995. They have what looks like paper ads scanned into their website?! This probably secret behind why they have good prices. Ask for Fred. He's got old school customer service skills. A bit of a shock if you've gotten used to Frys type customer service. read more

We had been shopping for a television for the past 6-8 months. We spent a lot of time going from store to store talking to various employees about the various choices and options. We were recommended to Video Only by a family member that said the staff was extremely knowledgeable, and the prices were competitive. Since we had been searching for a while, my husband and I had already established that we wanted a LED television. Tim (at the Mountain View store) spent two hours discussing the various features of the televisions, and answered every question I had. While other stores encourage you to purchase an additional warranty, Video Only offers a two year warranty for no additional charge. We purchased a 55 inch, Samsung LED 3D tv. The tv came with 4 pairs of glasses, and Tim threw in two additional pairs of glasses. We also bought a sound box, and stand. If you are considering purchasing a television, I would highly recomend Video Only. My only regret was that I didn't know about them 6-8 months ago. I'd been researching different brands of TVs and decided to purchase a new 2019 LG 55SM8600 Nano Screen w/Alexa and Google speech recognition capabilities, etc... Upon my arrival, was greeted by Sales Manager Christian Campos, who was the 'most knowledgeable' salesperson I've ever dealt with. He was able to answer all my questions and helped me make my final decision on which LG model would suit my needs w/o having to spend too much. Christian does not try to 'up-sell' customers just to make a few more dollars, but rather takes time to speak with purchasers to learn which TV would be best for their needs. Since it was "Black Friday" weekend my wife had mentioned to him that other stores were offering deals. Called, for price comparison on 65" TV's, while at a major discount store. Knowing that they only price matched on same model TVs. I spoke with Aaron. He told me they had the LG and the Samsung, in newer models and they were priced LOWER than that "Roll-Back" giant!! And, they were in stock. We drove straight over. Aaron took us right to them. He helped us pick out one and an appropriate wall mount. We also purchased a sound bar. I couldn't believe that we saved $$ at a "Specialty Store", but we did! We will definitely return. (Only gave 4 stars, because Aaron said that he was "pretty sure" that the mount we chose was appropriate for our TV. I came to video only with my boyfriend a few months ago. Mike, the store manager, helped us find a great 55 inch TV with amazing picture within our price range. He didn't try to up-sell us but told us what we could get and what might work best based on our TV needs. It was by far the best experience I've had with a salesmen and probably the best customer service I've had. Today, we went in to get a mount for the TV and Mike was there again. He didn't remember our names but I can tell he remembered our faces which is pretty impressive. He helped us find what we needed and we were in and out in 10 minutes. If that's not proficient and awesome I don't know what is. My boyfriend was pretty impressed with Mike and his knowledge and his straight forward salesmanship. When I walked in I was the only customer in a room about 70 by 100 feet in size, with TVs everywhere. They had both of my models in the same view so I compared and quickly decided on one. With the old-TV trade-in they offer, the price was $200 less than Best Buy or anywhere else I'd found. If you are looking for a high-end display or a display on budget, look no further. Video Only is the place to go hands down. I am highly researched in displays and AV technology for work and I only wish I had known about this store years ago. I was looking to pick up a LG 65" OLED C7 display and looked all over at Best Buy, Fry's, and Costco for availability. No one had this TV except for select location too far away for me to reach. I took a chance and decided to see if there were any local businesses that would stock this highly sought after display and found Video Only. I gave them a call and Craig (store manager) immediately picked up. A welcome surprise after being on hold for at least 10 minutes for other stores. Craig told me he had the TV I wanted in stock and that they had great prices. He was unable to quote me over the phone but that didn't bother me. I figured a new display like this is going to cost the same anywhere you go. I headed in their direction and showed up to the store. Walked right in and saw my TV right in the entrance. The store is very well laid out with plenty of viewing distance from each display so their customers can preview different viewing angles and distances from the panel. Within seconds of me being in the store, Chuck approached me and began conversating with me about my C7. In no way shape or form did Chuck seem like a salesperson. He was very friendly and knowledgable about displays and me being an AV professional myself, we had a good discussion on the different TV's that were on the market and the technology that made them so great. I did not feel at any point that Chuck was trying to sell me anything. He was just well educated about the products and could explain the technology behind the displays with confidence. I was able to confirm that he was not selling anything up or making up features because I thoroughly researched this TV beforehand for weeks and everything he had to say was true. As fluent as Chuck was in AV speak, I did not need any convincing to pick out this TV. I was ready to buy the TV before I even stepped inside the store. I went ahead and told Chuck that I was going to pull the trigger and get that TV today and he went right ahead to get the paperwork ready. Before doing so, I mentioned to Chuck that I didn't think the box would fit in my car. After the paperwork was finished, he went to the back and brought my TV out to my car. After determining that the box was unable to fit in my car, he did not hesitate for a moment and offered to take the company van to deliver my TV to my house. I graciously accepted his offer and headed home. 5 minutes later Chuck showed up on my driveway and brought the display into my house. Not once did he mention any costs for the delivery and he provided unmatched customer service with a smile. I cannot stress more how wonderful the experience I had with Video Only was. From customer service, to pricing (I saved hundreds of dollars on this TV), I can honestly say this has been one of the best shopping experiences in my life. I strongly suggest you go to Video Only. Was looking for a new Blu Ray 4K DVD player as our Samsung decided it wasn't being used often enough and stopped working. Narrowed it down to the Sony 700. We were in Mountain View and stopped in to Video Only. First visit to their chain. Our salesperson, Michael, was a pleasure to work with. While we were getting ready to purchase, all the cool tv's caught my eye. Took a walk around and asked Michael about the LG OLED sets. He patiently went over the features and showed me the thin line series. That did it. Less than an inch thick! Picture was spectacular and their price was well below everyplace including Costco. Michael even sweetened the pot by throwing the DVD player in with the deal. I've never gotten a better deal from a brick and mortar store and found working with an adult, knowledgeable salesperson refreshing. Video Only is now my go to store for anything they carry. My daughter and I went into Video Only today expecting to take a look at their TV selection before checking out the competition across the street at Best Buy. We were treated so well by Donnell that we never made it to Best Buy. We ended up buying a 55" Samsung QLED TV and ordered a soundbar to be picked up later. Donnell was knowledgeable, informative, and patient as we discussed our options between ourselves for a while. He provided information about Best Buy's (and others') prices and offered several discounts which I had not expected. Though I am not a fan of extended warranties, after all the other discounts and a discount on the extended warranty, itself, we ended up with a 4-year extension to the 1-year manufacturer's warranty for a very low price. There was no pressure to upgrade to a higher price range or to make a purchase at all. Our experience with Donnell was outstanding and Video Only's prices were surprisingly low.
