Arrived Tuesday evening not really knowing what to expect as it was my first time in the restaurant. The host was super friendly and the wait was only about 10 minutes. Loved the ambiance and the vibes of the restaurant, it makes you feel like your in for a great Mexican experience. The chips were so good and warm with 2 really good salsas, the green was my fav. The queso was served piping hot on the table with the smoke to prove it. I ordered the Almadre (not sure I spelled that right ) but it's like the spicy version of the steak with peppers and onions in a very spicy red sauce served with tortillas. Soooo good! But my son ordered the Beef Burria tacos and they stole the show. Only had a bite or two of his but definitely going back to get those next time. I just recently moved to Rockwall and have already been here twice. It is beautifully decorated inside and feels like you are on vacation. The chips and two different salsas that they give you when you first sit down are delicious. The tacos were all yummy,I just wish the carne asada tacos had a guac or avocado crème as they are a little dry. The two best things on the sampler platter are the birria empanadas and the Flautas (dip them in the queso that comes with it) so I recommend just ordering one of those two things instead of the platter. I cannot stress how good the Flautas are. All the servers and hosts are super nice and attentive. It gets busy on the weekends so add yourself to the waitlist online before you go. read more

I guess if you want a loud place for a couple people it's ok, but now for a large party, especially if you want to hear the person across the table. The food was ok. At least that's what some in our party said. My taco salad was about a 3/10. Way too much stale shredded cheese covering the dish, and very reserved on the pico, avocado and ground beef. I basically grazed on a bed of lettuce covered with cheese. The chips and salsa are delicious. Both the red and green salsas saved me. Black refried beans were also dry. Cheese on enchilada was scarce to non existent. Tea was ok. The food was awful, better food would help. Ok, the ambience is the coolest part of this place for me. I've tried three different dishes and just nothing wows me. I do love the two salsas served with the chips. And the attentiveness and friendliness of staff can't be beat. They even remember you when you've come in a couple times, which means the world to me. I have only sat at the bar, per my usual. I don't drink but they didn't mind me there and even served me some cool nonalcoholic mocktails lime a lovely mojito. I'm going to tru a few more dishes and update. Great potential here. And super glad to have another option in Rockwall, where I believe we are limited on health"ier", less mainstream places. Let me just start by saying I've been giving out an awful lot of 5 star ratings lately... that being said, I've been dining out at some GREAT restaurants! So this location is brand new and we were super excited to try it. This was my first time at any Vidorra restaurant, so I came in with no expectations. Let me just say I was blown away by the food, service, and ambience. So let's get into what was so great about this Mexican cuisine restaurant. Upon entering it gives you the feel of a restaurant on a resort or a club with a restaurant attached. The music was great, and I could smell the delectable treats being prepared in the kitchen all the way at the front door. We only needed a table for two so we were seated quickly, but not quickly enough to keep me from chowing down on Some of the chocolates they had at the front door. They found us a booth near the kitchen, which was fine because while we waited, I got to watch all of the other beautifully made plates coming out and being served. Just wait for me to get a jumpstart on what I'll order when I come back next time. We were only there to grab a quick bite, so we ordered the sampler plate to share. Our selection included Barilla tacos, quesadillas, taquitos, and empanadas. There was plenty for us to share and still get pretty full. Of course we ordered the queso which was delicious. Just a word of caution it comes in a huge heavy VAT so if you're not looking for that much cheese, you might wanna see if they have a smaller option available. As soon as we started in on the sampler, I realized I should've went ahead and ordered a full meal because everything was prepared to perfection! We paired our sampler with a couple of mock-tails (I'm recently sober) that were delish (minus the alcohol). The waitress was excellent service was great and she filled us in on all of the specials they have going on. Be sure to check them out because this restaurant featured a different type of happy hour each day of the week. The male concluded with my cousin's birthday churros adorned with a sparkler. They must have a pastry chef in the back because those were some of the best damn churros I've ever had and I live in Texas so I've eaten churros from all over! You know churros are as ubiquitous in Texas as the cowboy hat! What I really liked most was the vibe of the restaurant. I felt like I was on vacation or holiday even though you were just outside of town it was awesome. If you're looking for somewhere romantic, this might not be the place for you as it was pretty loud and hard to hear each other talk, but I will definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu! I owe my cousin on Monday because they're half price margaritas and that's every flavor of margarita that they have! PS there are at least 8 flavors. So if you're looking for authentic Tex-Mex cuisine, this is the place for you. So good y'all! read more

I visited this location two consecutive days and on both days my food had hair in it. I did not send the food back the first day however, the second day I did send the food back twice so a total of three dishes had hair in them. When I spoke to the manager regarding the hair in the food, he did offer to remake the dish. However, there was no discount offered or anything. I was given a 15% discount on my next visit. She offered me chips and salsa giving me a menu right away. It was busy so such prompt acknowledgement made me feel like an instant VIP. Also, since the table was too small, they brought the side plates in only two plates for all four of us. They definitely gave us less food than we should have received, and this made it uncomfortable for the four of us to share. I ordered a fajita for three at a different location. I definitely received more meat, and it wasn't as expensive. The server also made several mistakes, giving us the wrong drinks and tortillas. The service could improve, but the restaurant ambiance was great. One last note: why did this location not include music at nightime? Or at least a DJ on weekend with a view at the lake. We've been to Vidorra at least a dozen times since it opened and our experience has almost been universally good. Great atmosphere, good food (you really need the queso blanco). Our servers have been consistently attentive, informed and helpful. We typically split the queso and an entree and it's plenty. The restaurant is very popular (always a good sign) and the only reason that I'm holding back a star is the glitches we've experienced in their managing crowds. Twice we've left after the "20-25 minute" wait time estimate stretched to 45 minutes or longer. We'll definitely be going back (frequently) but honestly probably won't stick around if there's a long waiting list. read more

We sat outside and the fans were blowing so hard our cocktail napkins had to be weighted down, which we had to ask for those in the first place so our drinks didn't drip condensation all over us. The service is good, friendly and quick. The food came very quickly and we preferred the green salsa. The chicken fajitas were ok, a little more smoke/charred flavor than I would like but decent. The flour tortillas are clearly bought premade, too sweet for me. The chips with the salsa were average with lots of seasoning. I am late writing this review. I met my friend at Vidorra back on 12/26 and it was so cold in Rockwall. The wind was brutal but I was excited to try it so we still met at the restaurant. Inside, Vidorra is very dark but looks pretty cool. It's a cool vibe. There are a lot of smaller tables spread throughout which could be convenient for small parties. The chips were the star for me. I liked the seasoning on them. The salsa was just ok. We shared the appetizer sampler that had flautas, quesadillas (we added chicken) and empanadas. It was all good but wasn't very hot. Service was a bit slow. The real kicker is that they kept the doors to the patio wide open. Wide. Open. It was freezing in there. I wouldn't last long enough to order more food but we did look around and it looked good. I think this could be a cool place when the weather is nicer. Hopefully all the kinks will be worked out by then. read more
