My wife and I were looking for a place to get a little something sweet and this place popped up on the map. We thought we'd give it a try, I love to try new places, especially little locally owned shops. My wife was turned off immediately by the lack of product available, however we decided to make a selection from the handful of items hey had to offer. My mocha cream cake was dry and very void of flavor, one would certainly not call it 'mocha' by any means. My wife's Black Forest cake was also dry, and the chocolate cake was not a dark chocolate that one would expect in a Black Forest dessert. Disappointed!!! My husband surprised me with my birthday cake from here. It looked amazing and I couldn't wait to have some! To our surprise it was nothing like the reviews on here. The strawberry shortcake was awful. The cake texture was the worst I've ever had. It fell apart in our mouths and has no flavor. So sad this had to be my birthday cake. My husband feels like he let me down but instead this bakery did. Don't go here. Pretty sure a cake from Kroger would've been 100 times better. read more

I was really skeptical of this place... A French bakery in a weird shopping center in Hurst? K... I bought some little raspberry cakes for a party. They were light and fluffy with a subtle lemon flavor, and were decorated with almond slivers and fresh raspberries. Surprisingly good but pricey. Wow! What a great place to pick up some great breakfast pastries! The ham and Swiss croissant is awesome. My wife loved the small sausage sandwiches, which were more like sausage puff pastries. We had both the cream cheese and pecan Danishes. They were great too. If they had some ambiance and some good coffee, they could get more stop and stay business. My only suggestion is to add some more ham to the croissant. If they did, they could even increase the price and get away with it. read more

I first learned of this place a few years ago when my friend had a Strawberry Short Cake at one of her parties. It was the best cake that I've ever tasted. Strawberries, kiwis, grapes, and mandarin oranges on top of a white cream frosting with roasted sliced almonds surrounding the cake......oh my gosh, it was so delicious!!! I fell in love from that moment on. And their prices weren't too bad, either.....we normally get the 10" round for $38.00. I've ordered cakes for various birthdays and anniversaries, and they have never disappointed! As for service, I have never eaten inside the restaurant, but of all the times I've ordered cakes from them, I have never been treated badly or ignored. Being Vietnamese, I have come to expect low to no service from Asian restaurants/establishments. Hey, I can say this because I'm Asian...AND because it usually is true that service at Asian places tend to be horrible. But it's a fact of life, and if you don't want to put up with it, then don't eat there! read more

Amazing cakes & service! I just picked up an Italian Cream fruit cake, & everything about it is perfect! The moist texture, the sweet strawberry glaze on top, almonds on the sides.. mmm! Deelish! The lady helping me with my cake was very nice and she was showing me the cakes they can do and i plan to try some. Walking in, the smell is already phenomenal! Anytime my family needs a good cake for a good price we come here. The pastries are delicious and they also offer great soups and sandwiches. I usually don't write negative reviews but I felt like I needed to. I needed a 3-tier cake for my moms 70th birthday party but The bakery I usually order from was closed that week. Their price for a 3-tier cake is reasonable compared to other places and they offer pandan flavor which I was excited to try. I picked up the cake that morning and wasn't given specific care instructions, just how to cut. When the cake was brought out it was already sweating. I picked up the cake at 9 and the party was at 5. When I brought it home, I put it right in the fridge. I had noticed a crack on the bottom layer (cake is made up of buttercream, not fondant). I didn't make a big deal about it. When I took the cake out a couple hrs before the party, I noticed the crack for bigger and the top layer was beginning to tilt. As the party went on, there were noticeable gaps between the 2nd and 3rd layer. I'm sure they have made beautiful cakes in the past but I'm not sure what was different about mine. I put an order 5 days ahead. They tell me if they don't have strawberries they'd use fruit cocktail, I tell them I don't want it. We come to a compromise to use oranges, I show up and they still used fruit cocktail ignoring that I wanted oranges. They do nothing to fix the situation, terrible customer service. Grew up to this bakery's cakes my whole life, and I'm 22 now. Strawberry shortcake is probably one of the most popular cakes there for birthdays and celebrations. I remember every birthday, christmas, new years, chinese new years, graduation parties, my dad took me here to get cakes, I don't remember how long it took, because I was little, but as far as i know, it was never a disappointment We started to get the coconut strawberry shortcake as well, its not one of my favorite but it is my mothers fav. because she loves pineapple and coconut I came here to get my boss a fruit tart for her party and it was the first time trying it and it was amazing! give this place a try. you will love it! read more

Tucked away in a little strip center across the street from Northeast mall is this hidden jewel. Dont let the modest exterior or the sparse seating interior fool you. This bakery cranks out some of the most near authentic French pastries this side of the metroplex can offer. For starters the pastry chefs here actually speak French! It is owned by a Vietnamese lady but some of her staff members are fluent in the language of love. In any case, back to the sweets; here you will find pastries with just the right hint of sweetness that leaves your palate lingering for more. My all time fave and what I pretty much grew up on, which is the Strawberry shortcake with fresh gorgeous fruit piled on top a spongecake soaked in just the right amount of rum syrup covered with a very light whipped icing, and then rounded off with roasted sliced almonds on the sides. This is my family's special occasion cake that we order for nearly every gathering. I also enjoy the fresh fragrant almond croissants from here as well. So if you enjoy sweets that aren't so sweet (crazy, I know) come here and enjoy a slice or two of heaven. read more

Great assortment of pastries and delicious sandwiches. They have most of the traditional pastries you'd expect from a French bakery, but also offer cakes in Southeast Asian flavors. Went there today because I was craving something sweet to eat and had never been there before so I asked the lady what was popular. She proceeded to ask me if I liked whipped cream or buttercream. So finally my husband and I decided on what to get. I had to use their restroom and when we left the bakery, my husband told me that they were talking trash and said, "Why does she need to ask what is good and what is popular?" Little did they know that he understood their language. Excuse me but you should be willing to help your customers out. If we were still in there I would have flat out said something about her rudeness! P.S. The baked goods we bought were not even good and the cookies were very dry. Tried it for the first time today. I'll be back. The pastries were unique and delicious. Plenty of room to sit inside and very friendly staff. Busy place so everything was fresh. The cakes were well made and the creme filled eclairs were so good that I'm going back for more tomorrow. These pastries make excellent gifts too. read more

Oh my goodness, a taste of heaven! I have been getting cakes from this place ever since I discovered it 4 years ago. The cake is so moist and I just love the fresh fruit layered on. This place is hands down just the best pastry spot in HEB, they have these delicious sausage things and good coffee and they make awesome custom cakes and have tons of other baked goods. I'm only giving this place one star because there isn't an option for ZERO! I ordered a chocolate mousse cake for a birthday last week. I picked it up at the bakery this morning and when we bit into it, it was like eating sawdust. It was the driest cake (and the worst) that I have ever had. I took the cake back and told them that the cake didn't taste good and was very, very dry and the strawberries had black bruises on them. I was shocked when the owner grabbed a section of the middle and rubbed it together and said, 'See? Moist." She then asked if Ive had their cakes before and when I replied I hadn't, she said, "That's why.Our cakes are not as sweet as American cakes." I told her that I didn't have a problem with the sweetness, only that it was too dry and stale and didn't taste good." She said, "I'll return your money because I don't want to deal with you. Don't come back here." I was not rude to her and was quite surprised at the ugliness of her words and her horrible customer service. She needn't worry that I'll be coming back for a sawdust cake.
