I've eaten here many times, and it might just be my favorite Vietnamese place. They have a huge menu, and while I very often get pho, I have tried many other menu items as well. I love their summer rolls (which come with peanut sauce) and smoothies, and their iced coffee is fantastic. I most recently had Hanoi-style pork with vermicelli. Very savory and very filling. The service is solid, and they're great about making sure you are hydrated. My only real complaint is the lighting. It's a little too dim for my liking. read more

The food is pretty good here. First, make sure you get the Vietnamese ice tea. It's just as good as Thai ice tea and goes great with anything BBQ-ed. Spring rolls is another good appetizer. If you haven't tried the fresh rolls that is also a good one to try. We also got the combination #46. It has a variety of meat but the seasoning and marination is pretty much the same, even the shrimp. Still it's pretty good. We had a late lunch. So it wasn't busy but the staff was also having their lunch. So service was a bit slow. However that's what happens in a family run restaurant and this one eats as a family. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We had been to this restaurant before, and this was supposed to be our second visit. We arrived around 7:37 PM, and the male host told us they could not accept us, yet moments before, he had seated an older couple. There were still open tables and plenty of people dining, so the situation made no sense to us. I do not want to assume it was racially motivated, but the experience felt unfair and uncomfortable. I always order the Brisket with extra fat and it never disappoints. The broth has such excellent flavor with plenty of brisket.

Okay...so mixed reviews seen on this place however here is how I see it... if I open a menu and there is a bunch of dishes I either be wonder if it's Legit or 2 this maybe fluke place trying too much. Upon waking in you see a cyclo a typical form of transportation in Vietnam a few wooden baskets frames a mural behind . The ambiance is l similar to upscale ish Vietnamese place versus a casual pho joint . Although lighting was a bit dark. Upon looking at menu everything has a Vietnamese listed first and English translation after. Kudos. 2 things I'm skeptical of ordering. Bo Luc Loc and Muc Rang Muoi. aka shaky beef and salt and pepper squid.... Why cause it's so easy to screw up. So I had to do Yelp photo research to make sure it wasn't thickly battered served with. Chili sauce. And it came with a side of "lime juice/salt/pepper ". Same with shaky beef. Now I know it's legit Deets parents of course wanted Viet food and were not normally out in Woodbridge cause we're so close by other Viet places. Service well..I don't eat service and Viet people you're lucky they don't throw your food and leave. They are efficient and food did come out pretty quickly and was nice and hot. A few food details.. the cellphane noodles with crab or mien của xạo ít was a bit salty for me.but nice chunks of lump crab meat. Muc Rang Muoi nice bite on squid a bit of chew but still tender thought to bite threw. Nicely salted only grip was the peppers and onions would've love to be a little less done but still good. Bo luc lac was overall flavor was good and the beef a few pieces were tender and the others were a bit tough. Go Du Du was a nice texture thick enough to give texture versus normally when it's shaved thinner and is softer of a bite...amount of shrimp wasn't huge but it was fine for what is. Sup Mung Của.. overall was pretty good mouthfeel think egg drops soup minus the yoke however there was a sight citrus that I am not used to when eating this soup mostly cause mom makes it home so it's not like I go order it at restaurants. Cha Giờ Tom.. was crispy but didn't wow me..also I have a slight fists in for chili sauce. I probably could've asked for nước mắm but... dad doesn't love the stuff so it was fine. Overall it's good for being here in Woodbridge and it's a decent price point for the amount of food you're getting most that are complaining haven't had to pay for bad Viet food and lower quality. The crew of servers are friendly and knowledgeable of their board of fare. Now for the food. Absolutely delicious! Beautifully plated and very nice portions. You're treated to a plate of sprouts and jalapeño pepper slices with lime and Thai ba. Their Pho can be order in 2 sizes each well stocked with seafood, or whatever protein you prefer. Their Salt and Pepper Squid melts in your mouth and comes sitting on a bed of peppers and greens which are a meal by themselves. Right next door to probably one of my favorite Bubble Tea shops in the DMV, Viet Chopsticks is a pretty good place to eat Vietnamese food if you're in the area. I ordered Com Ga Nuong ( Grilled Chicken with Rice and Veggies ) and it was good. Vietnamese Rice Dishes are my go to whenever I eat out at any Vietnamese place ( besides Bun Bo Hue or Pho ) and it's just quick and filling. You really can't go wrong with the Spring Rolls which are fried well and paired with fish sauce makes a great pairing before the actual entrée. It was fairly quiet when we went in; not a bad thing but we were serenaded by the traditional music that was heard in the background. It's very soothing and poses a relaxed atmosphere. This is the worst experience I have ever had in dining out. We had to ask for our food, water, drinks, appetizers, silverware, multiple time and still did not get most of it. After placing our orders, other people came in to eat...half our meals came out but after asking nothing else came, not silverware, not drinks nor waters, etc. BUT other tables would receive their waters while others received their silverware, etc. I could really bash this place in great detail but this place is not worth my time. We got the summer rolls for appetizer which were good, their peanut sauce was good. I gotta say this has been my go to favorite pho restaurant in the pass couple of years and alway make a 30 minutes drive to it from home the kids love it an so do I. The soup quality seems to always be on point the flavor is nice and the broth is clean portion are bountiful and nicely plated. And like a year ago I tried a seafood combination fried rice which my wife and I found to be very tasty but we went on for a few months without ordering this dish again, till today and let me tell you I was not as blown as the first time it tasted good but it seemed as it was rushed and some of the seafood felt even cold unlike the first time and I'll suggest them to to rush things on the kitchen you guys usually quick and waiting a few minutes to have everything properly cooked it would definitely improve your food quality. Ambiance of the place it's nice and quiet despite of how busy it gets and I always like how clean and well kept is always a plus. I took my mother for lunch and the interior decor were beautiful and the restaurant looks very clean. The staff members are very friendly, appears to have teamwork and very knowledgeable. We order 5 items but one was a mistake and it turn out to be delicious. 1) stir fry beef with wide noodles and vegetables. It was very flavorful and you can't just take one bite 2) roasted duck served with black pepper sauce. The description says "cooked until crispy" but it lack just that and it was a bit chewy. Luckily I ask for the sauce on the side if not, the slice duck would of been smothered/ trench in it 3) lemongrass beef sauté with peppers and onions. My mother accidentally order this item which she actually wanted lemongrass beef with vermicelli. The dish was quite tasty and delicious 4/5) my mother order Vietnamese iced coffee and I ordered the coconut-taro smoothie. We were wondering why it was taken so long but it turns out they came up with a new to go concept tall cups. The iced coffee was just right not overpowering or bitter. My to go order here is always the beef clay pot. Crunchy rice and super flavorful. I don't care much for their boba tea option though

They were supposed to open at 11 but it was still closed at 11:15. When we finally got in around 11:30 they had the four of us sit in a small booth because the bigger tables were "not cleaned" (as per the waitress). One pair of chopstick was literally dirty and not washed. Didn't bother changing it, one of us had to just use forks. When food came none of us got any plates. Again, never even bothered to ask. We had to beg them just to get two bowels. The clay pot fish was dry and overcooked. $18 for literally 7 pieces of stir fried beef. The worst is when the bill came, 18% tip is automatically added. I suppose I could argue with them and have a negotiation to have it taken out, but this is a shady practice that I've never seen in any other restaurants. And why should I even have to do that? Just charging us without our consent. And there were only 4 of us, not some big party where tips are part of the deal. It really left a bad taste (as if everything else wasn't enough) in our mouth. Came here for dinner on a cold, dark, rainy day to meet up with a friend. Both of us independently arrive at the same conclusion; there was only one dish that would fit the bill -- Bun Bo Hue. It was quite spicy for me, and I really wanted to pack the rest, but since I was planning on ordering pho to go, I didn't want to bother packing extra. I also had the penny wrappers and spring roll which was good. The only thing to slightly sour the experience was when I placed an order to-go. I ordered ONE large Pho, but for some reason the waitress placed TWO. Of course that means I paid double. Not a huge deal, since we'll eat it, but just not what I was expecting.
