Takeout was pretty quick - only took 15 min for a big order. Based on my experience, you can't go wrong with any of the Vietnamese options on the menu. Looked like there was a pretty decent sized dining space (atypical of family owned Asian restaurants) so could be a nice place to dine-in post-covid. It is located in a strip mall with a large parking lot. A11: Spring Roll (5/5) - longer, thinner spring roll so had more shrimp and pork in it than other typical spring rolls. Yummy peanut hoisin sauce to dip in. A10: Original Banh Mi (5/5) - good value, bread was pretty thin and sandwich was well stuffed with lots of meat. Got the original, but not the biggest fan of pork loaf in general so will probably try the grilled pork or grilled beef banh mi next time. 2: Pho Dac Biet (5/5) - good amount and variety of meat, similar to a Pho Deluxe you typically get at other Vietnamese restaurants. The broth tasted like real broth, as opposed to from a bouillon cube. BN3: Bun Thit Xao, Cha Gio (5/5) - this comes with grilled beef, but I prefer grilled pork and they were happy to accommodate - loved the grilled pork, really good flavor. Egg roll was delicious, wish it came with more. Didn't come with a whole lot of noodles though so not super filling. PT1: Chicken Pad Thai (2.5/5) - had no flavor, most of the flavor came from the lime wedge that I squeezed on top. Ordered a medium level of spice, but it was not spicy at all. Plentiful amount of noodles and sufficient amount of chicken. V5: Family Tofu (4/5) - tofu was good, the dish had a lot of flavor and good amount of veggies. Overall felt like it was a pretty healthy dish. Comes with rice. Smoothies with Bubbles (4/5) - had the mango and taro ones. Mango one wasn't overly sweet - tasted like the the frozen mangos from Costco, didn't seem like they used powder or syrup to flavor. Taro one had good taro flavor. Had a good amount of bubbles and was filling. Pretty pricey at $5.50 each though. read more

I nearly always get takeout from here, once or maybe twice a week. The food is always hot and tasty and (as is typical of Chinese places) the portions are huge. I ordered pho #3 and Vietnamese egg rolls. The egg rolls were ok. Nothing special. The pho was bland and missing a lot of flavor. The broth tasted like water. No matter what I added to the soup I couldn't eat it. The bowl was still full when I paid and left the restaurant. I mentioned to the waitress with pink hair that the soup lacked flavor. She brought me a few packets of soy sauce and chili oil. Still didn't help the soup! The waitress doesn't seem like she even wants to be there. my husband and i were shocked when we found out that that beijing wasn't here anymore as they have the best chinese eggrolls i've ever had.. we decided to give viet hoa a chance.. you'll never know if you don't try.. the decor and everything was still the same from the last restaurant.. so that part was still familiar.. the menu from viet hoa was extensive.. viet hoa is a chinese/vietnamese restaurant.. the waitress told us that the owners are chinese and vietnamese.. i thought that was pretty awesome.. we had ordered vietnamese eggrolls, beef and meatball pho, the broken rice platter (CT2), and beef meatball soup.. we received the beef meatball soup first.. the broth was very dark.. darker than what i'm used to but very rich and beefy.. it was a bit much for me.. the meatballs were a little denser than most i've tried.. after a few sips, i had to stop.. my husband thought the beef and meatball pho was good.. the rice noodles was the perfect amount but again, the broth was a little beefy, rich and dark in taste.. he did wish for some fish sauce on the side but overall, he did finish it plus my meatball soup.. the broken rice platter (CT2) i got came with a side of soup.. i didn't realize it came with the soup as it wasn't listed on the menu.. if i knew that, i wouldn't have ordered the meatball soup.. i liked the soup that came with the rice platter.. very light tasting and delicious! just what i needed! the rice platter was one of the best broken rice platters i've ever eaten.. it was light, had great flavor and the pork was super tender! i just ate a broken rice platter from quang's last week and i would prefer hoa viet's broken rice platter instead.. it was more fresh tasting somehow.. i absolutely enjoyed it.. as for the vietnamese eggrolls, you never know what you're going to get.. sometimes they're super skinny and dense but good.. sometimes they're big but have no flavor.. well let me tell you.. it was super good!! it was perfect really! the outside was so light, airy, and crispy.. we couldn't believe at how good it was.. we're so glad there's a vietnamese place that serves good food.. we hope this place sticks around because we'll be back for sure to try out different items.. like the banh mi sandwich, the bubble tea drinks, fried rice, and even the items from the chinese menu.. read more

Finally some pho worth going for in the Minnetonka suburbs. The places itself is not the fanciest, but it's clean. Started off with the cheese wontons. Good start. Not the bes, but good. Tried the grilled pork Bahn Mi. Great flavor on the pork. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The bread was crusty and flacks in the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Nice sandwich. The pho was very good. The broth was floral and flavorful. The meatballs were ok. Very firm. The rare beef was perfect. Noodles were well cooked. Typical fresh herbs and veggies on the side. I just ate at Viet Hoa and had a terrible experience. My partner and I both had dishes that we did not eat because the chicken didn't taste right. After taking a couple bites we let the staff know we didn't like it and they took the dishes back. The staff then proceeded to tell us that we would only get 30% off one of the dishes. We had to compromise with them to take one of the dishes off and get another dish in exchange. When the first check came back we still had to pay for the dish we exchanged, and they did not take a full 30% off. We had to ask them to resend the check back just to get the 30% but still had to pay for the exchanges meal. I WOULD NOT recommend coming here. My partner and I will NEVER go back here. I haven't been super impressed by the Asian restaurants in MN but we decided to try this place out tonight. We didn't bother to try any of the Chinese dishes because it looked like standard Americanized Chinese food. We only ordered food from the Vietnamese portion of the menu and I think this was the best decision. I've had better Vietnamese back on the east coast but this restaurant is a solid Asian entry in MN, especially in the suburbs. I am glad we tried it out and am happy that we found this place. I do think based on the reviews that they should focus only on Vietnamese cuisine. Maybe they should include only a few Chinese items if they want to appeal to a broader audience. read more
