First, I'd have to start with is the service is fantastic. We are gluten-free so called in advance to make sure they could accommodate our dietary needs. Spoke to Zoe on the phone and she was extremely detailed on our menu choices, and when we showed up spent a long time guiding us through the menu as to what would be the best fit for what we were looking to eat. From then on the service was terrific and the food is excellent. I also want to recognize our waiter, Yaseen. We tried their Bahn Mi Pork, they were delicious, we also tried their Pork Spring Rolls, Rice Bowl and Pork Bao Buns everything was good and fresh. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to your table. They had some drinks like Green tea and bubba drinks but we didn't try them. Had some great Vietnamese bowl after a long time. I had the noodles bowl with chicken and extra egg on it. And the bowl comes with a pork spring roll. That was a big portion than I expected and was completely filling for a dinner meal. Despite the small location, the combo options might overwhelm you since everything looks so good! This place is phenomenal. I have eaten here so many times especially when I used to live in Baldwin Park. Generally, they are quick, and the food is amazing. However, today I ordered an entree of vermicelli bowl with steak and an eggs, and it was terrible. But, in their defense I ordered for a pick up 45 min before they close. This place didn't WOW me. I would give a 3.5 but that isnt an option on here. All the food had the same sauce... it was okay. But too bad. If I lived here I would go back. The texture of the bao was was very soft and fresh. The taste of the wings were interesting... I don't know exactly how to describe it. I'm not really sure how I feel about that. The waffle fries had carrots and the special sauce on it. The steak taco was mediocre. They pile cabbage and carrots on top. The staff was very nice and attentive. Viet-Nomz is one of my go-to spots. If you do not know it is there, you will definitely miss it, and you do not want to do that! If I have a friend that has never been, Viet-Nomz is a must. Every time I go, I say I am going to try something new, but always go for the entree bowl. I usually get the tofu (yum!) noodle bowl, with spicy-nom sauce (double yum!). I actually tried rice this time, and it was just as good. Just note that the vermicelli noodles are chilled, so if you want something hot, go with the rice. This is a great place to get rice-and-meat bowl. The place is quite casual but has an authentic character. I usually get the rice and chicken bowl. They have a self-serve counter with herbs and peppers that I can add to my bowl. The number of tables is small, so if they're full, I usually use the large shared table. This one is authentic when you compare with Orange CAs'.Fresh ingredients, Clean, friendly staff. Pho tastes as good as LA's best. Chicken rice is OK. It worth it to try. During COVID-19, Vietnam-Nomz opted for pick up instead of dine in. I haven't seen their space inside. I will say that their pick up system is very efficient and contactless. A server comes to your car to give you the menu and takes your order. I ordered a crispy fish vermicelli bowl. I also tried a taste of my bfs chicken vermicelli bowl. We ordered the fried tofu and finished it on the way home. We thought that the fried tofu could have been cut a little thicker so that we can enjoy the squishy tofu goodness instead of the batter. It was a bit sweet. The packaging was well thought out. We asked for extra vegetables ($3). Overall, the drive up curbside pick up was definitely well thought out. Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday at 11:30a and there was quite a long line! That's usually a sign that the food is good. Luckily, we weren't in a hurry so we decided to stay. The line moved a little slower than your typical counter service joint, but it wasn't terrible. And the food came rather quickly! I ordered the salad and got steak as my protein and spicy nom as my sauce. I was surprised when it came with an egg on it! In addition to all of the crisp veggies (carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, 1 tomato wedge, green onions), they had a fixin's bar with bean sprouts, limes, cilantro, jalapenos, onions, green onions, and thai basil. They also had plenty of siracha and sambal chili paste to spice things up. The salad was fresh and flavorful, but could have used more of the spicy nom sauce. I was satisfied with the portion size for the price! Much more filling than SOME places where you get a salad. My wife also ordered the steak, but got the bowl with rice since she can have carbs and I really shouldn't! It isn't fair! We wanted to try the other meats (chicken, pork) but since there wasn't an upcharge for steak like SOME places, we both went with it. They also had a crispy tofu as a protein if you're a non-meat eater. We shared a some type of spring role (the one with the peanut sauce) which was also quite good and a nice start to the meal. Viet-nomz is a fast casual restaurant. You order at the register, take a number, find your own seat, and your food gets delivered to your table. It is cozy and chic inside, designed for that perfect foodie shot for your 'Gram. I'm not even going to lie, I was nursing a minor hangover, and I needed a huge rice bowl to settle my stomach and headache. I got a Steak Rice Bowl, which consists of Jasmine rice, fresh veggies (lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, scallions, basil, cilantro), pickled carrots & daikon, a fried egg, and your choice of sauce (I got nuoc-nam sauce). You get a HUGE portion for a reasonable price. The bowl is packed to fresh perfection. Most importantly, the food tastes as great as it looks. Whether it's rice or soup, I like a lot of greens in my bowl. At the front of the kitchen, there is an Herb Bar, which you can grab different greens to customize your bowl to your taste. Here, you can find bean sprouts, scallions, onions, lime, cilantro, culantro, Thai basil, and japalenos, as well as sauces like soy sauce, Hoisin, and chili paste. My table shared the Crispy Tofu Bites, which you get a lot of pieces for an appetizer. I also took a Bahn Mi, or Vietnamese sub, to go. I chose pork for my protein, and it is topped with pickled carrots & daikon, cilantro, and aioli butter on a French hoagie. This is yummy food that's easy to take on the go. The hoagie is toasted just right, and the aioli butter adds a rich flavor to the bahn mi. Add an Iced Ca Phe, and it's a perfect meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my food from Viet-nomz! I love this place! Small place, with a homey ambiance, and good music. It's a very nice hybrid of "self-serve" and being served. You order at the register, sit where you please, and then they'll bring your food out for you. There's a self-serve Herb Bar that's constantly being restocked with fresh veggies where you can grab what you'd like, as much as you'd like (limes, basil, jalapeños, onions, beans sprouts, etc.). I always order the build your own pho with beef broth, brisket, and chicken, and I like adding a sunny side up egg as well. The broth is hot and steamy and the flavors are rich and delicious. Ordered online and the email promised the food within 10 mins. I went to pick up at the noted time, visited the to-go counter as usual and the girl told me I had to wait at the regular line, which was like 4 customers deep. Waited almost 10mins only to have the cashier go back to the to go counter to grab my food waiting ‍ Frustrated knowing my food was probably sitting there getting cold the whole time, I took it upon myself to go back to the to go girl, and ask her why she sent me to wait in the line and she proceeded to apologize, saying there were two orders with my same name. That makes no sense...Then verify something further to know which one was mine. No effort was made to do so, which was at my inconvenience not theirs. I obviously didn't order online just so that I could wait in the restaurant for another 10 minutes for something that should have taken and in and out moment only.
