Had an interview and really wanted to try something new since I was out and ended up here, I wanted a banh mi and I am a lover of wings so I ordered the grilled pork banh mi and the cold cut banh mi. The Grilled pork was flavorful and the pickled and fresh veg were good. The cold cut banh mi (which is my fave style) was good the ham and sausage were on point pâté were solid too. My main issue was the banh mi's were skimpy and not as filled as they should have been for that price. I also got a side of pho broth cause in my head I was thinking a French dip style banh mi and I paid like $8 and they only gave me a pint after asking me big or small and me saying big. I am a wing junkie and love 3 piece full Viet wings well the guy that helped me sold me on a "Vietnamese style wing" that was fried then tossed in sauce and tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, and garlic. I was not pleased at first but after trying them I found out they were hella good and my dad who I shared with (bought way too much damn food) he saved that and added it to his breakfast ramen the next day. Side notes: they hooked me up with a Thai coffee while waiting cause it was short staffed. That was really good and I love Thai coffee so I was happy there. The pho broth was very flavorful and I was a huge fan of that for sure.

Fantastic pho at fantastic prices with fantastic service. The pho noodles here are perfectly cooked and delivered in giant bowls of flavorful broth full of deep umami. While the setting is very basic, the service is wonderfully friendly and attentive. Chef Hero is an incredible cook. Please come support this family business!

I have to be honest, maybe my expectations are high, but for my first time coming to this restaurant they did poorly. The bun Bo hue was cold, and a fish cake in it?? That's different. The broth tasted like salty water. I mean the service was ok, and the place itself isn't bad. I'm reviewing this single item. If I come back I will definitely get something else. The broth, presentation, and what was in it was not good at all.

Always consistent with the deliciously prepared food. Also good price compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Smoothies are fresh fruits and not a powder mix. I love the mango and avocado smoothies. Support this local gem. Family owned. Casual ambiance. Service is always great!

Banh Bot loc (shrimp & pork) w/ some chili

This is regarding ordering Banh Bot loc from them. I stopped by the restaurant because I noticed they have the steamed Vietnamese dumplings. My son is half Viet and really wanted some for his bday party. I even search fb marketplace but it's hard to come by in the north bay. You can find them more easily in Sacramento and San Jose. But I definitely wasn't trying to make those commutes for this. And sooo happy they have it here! I ordered 200 pcs and they were good prices. They're a lovely couple who helped me. We steamed half of the order for the party and now have some left to enjoy whenever we want since they keep in the freezer well. Make sure to ask in advance if you want to order in bulk!

On 4/14/26 at 6:45pm I placed an order with this establishment. After receiving my food, I encountered an issue with my order. I called the restaurant to address the problem and seek a resolution. When my call was answered, the employee did not initially identify herself. I had to ask for her name, at which point she stated her name was Jasmine. I found it unprofessional that she did not provide a basic introduction when answering the phone. I then requested to speak with a manager regarding my complaint. Jasmine refused to provide the manager's name when I asked, which immediately raised concerns about transparency and accountability. After insisting, I was eventually transferred to the manager. Once the Manager came to the phone his introduction was bag o crab, I asked for his name. The manager refused to provide his name when asked. For appropriate customer service and documentation purposes I needed to know who I was speaking with but he continued to refuse. Shortly after I requested his name again, the manager rudely refused and hung up on me.This behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. At no point was I provided with assistance, or any effort to resolve the issue with my order. This experience demonstrated a complete lack of customer service, accountability, and professionalism. Refusing to identify oneself as a manager and hanging up on a customer attempting to resolve an issue is unacceptable. My order was horrific. My experience was horrific and I wasted my money.

Just about everything here is made to order (fish, wings, pretty much the whole menu), so patience is part of the deal when ordering at the counter. If you're in a hurry, calling ahead or using DoorDash is always an option. For lunch, I ordered a 2-piece catfish with collard greens and candied yams to dine in, plus a chicken wing and fish combo with fries to go. One thing I really appreciated was that they didn't fry the to-go order at the same time as my dine-in meal. That meant everything was piping hot and fresh when I walked out the door. The catfish is my usual go-to and it never disappoints -- perfectly fried, well seasoned, and consistent every time. The kind of seasoning that makes you feel like someone's uncle back there is cooking from the soul. The collard greens are tender, flavorful, and always hit the spot. And the candied yams? Honestly more like dessert than a side -- sweet, comforting, and absolutely worth ordering. Yes, it can feel a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and flavor make it worth it.

We were not asked what parts we wanted and ended up with very large wings. A hickup with the gumbo. In our opinion it was too thick like thick gravy. Not pourable to mix well with rice. We added water and reheated. It also had a crab arm\ pincher that needed to be cracked. If we didnt have a tool at home we would have had to discard the crab uneaten. Potato salad was great as was the pecan pie. I wanted to give this place five stars because of the workers enthusiasm about their business. I hope I can convince my wife to go back.

Recently came here to pick up a tray of shrimp ceviche and a small octopus ceviche for a family party. Service was phenomenal! The lady who took our order was so sweet and patient while she explained the different sizes and pricing for the trays. Her two other colleagues were in the back working quickly to get our order and the previous order ready. You could see how they were preparing everything in the kitchen, so you know everything was super fresh! A half tray of shrimp ceviche cost us about $100, which may seem on the pricier side, but honestly so worth it and you get a pretty good amount of shrimp in it! Didn't get to try the octopus ceviche but from what my cousin told me, it was just as delicious. Botanas La Cruda has such a variety of delicious menu items, it's so hard to choose what to get! Obviously, you can't go wrong with any of their ceviches. I also really love their bionico if you're looking for something sweet. They have elote which is classic and always tasty! And just personal preference, I love tostillocos, so you can never go wrong with an order of that. The restaurant is pretty small, but it's decorated really cute inside. There are a couple tables set up both inside and outside, and you can seat around 2-3 people at each one. They share a small parking lot with Bula Pies, but there's usually plenty of spaces available there or next door at 7-Eleven. Highly, highly recommend coming here and trying out whatever catches your eye on their menu. Whether it's a sweet summer treat, or a fresh order of seafood ceviche, you're bound to find something tasty to eat!
