Super nice girl took my to-go order. I've been here before for the Pho which is delicious and I wish I had ordered it instead of chicken and broccoli but pho isn't the easiest to-go entree. The chicken and broccoli looks just like every other to-go chicken and broccoli. This one is a bit sweeter than I like. It could have used more sauce but I didn't like the sauce anyway so it didn't matter to me just putting it out there. The rice was a little different not sure what it was about it. It didn't bother me but I didn't care for it. I've had rice here before and never noticed so this isn't something that readers should be weary of, again, just putting it out there. My husband had generals chicken, it was spicy but it was good. The server recommended the plain fried chicken wings. I didn't like it. It wasn't crispy, it reminded me of oven baked fried chicken. Not what I was expecting at all. I happen to love the standard Togo Chinese chicken wings that are crispy and slightly yellow. I come here once a week with my friends because it's that good. I believe it's family run business. The service is great, the food is excellent and they make it for your tasting. But, this place gets very busy and the girls are running around so be patient. We come here early because like I said it does get busy. I have not been dissatisfied from this place. To be clear, sat around with menus closed and multiple staff walked right by us without taking our order. Order was messed up too. Pho was "decent". Much better than I expected to be honest. Came with TONS of lime and jalapeños which was a plus. The Bun Cha Gio Thit Bo was mediocre. Almost a 2 star but based on the service for the second half my visit, it was brought up to 3. This place is nothing fancy, but they got some dang good food. Their pho is fragrant, piping hot and full of flavor - just how pho should be. Their grilled pork with the vermicelli noodles is also delicious and very filling. They only had about 2 people working, so service was a little slow for the lunchtime crowd. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and plain fried rice and when I was in the middle of eating I picked up a baby roach on my chopsticks that was in my rice- once I notified my waitress ( also the owner) all she could was take the 3 dollars( the tax) off of the total bill. And you have nothing in your fridge back at the hotel left to eat, so a taste of comforting food which won't break your bank wins. The answer is simple, Pho. Pronounced, fuh, and having nothing to do with the ending of a zip code. This place is relatively small, operated by chinese, (surprise!!) well, cozy yet bright, and welcoming at the same time nonetheless. All the classic choices are right there for the choosing, chopped and hashed with a few Chinese cuisine options as well. I opted for the pho tai bo vien, my son had the solo tai. The broth was pleasant, so wonderfully comforting. There a very noticeable clarity. Flavor was well presented, authentic, defined. Of course, as it is customary, I added the typical accoutrements; basil, bean sprouts, sriracha, and extra lime to intensify the natural beauty of the soup. A perfect bite is the trick, when you're able to get all the ingredients into your spoon, mouth, then your belly. If I had one complaint, it would be the cut of meat. Which was just a bit tough. I'm torn because I love the pho and the spring rolls, however I just ordered spring rolls and got egg rolls this time... the general tso is not spicy, the crab Rangoon is fishy, beef and veg had no flavor and the beef was squishy, "comes with rice" but it's a little scoop, dry and tastes like onions. When I walked in to place my to go order I looked around and the place was full of Asian people. I was the only non Asian there. This tells me that the food is authentic. I ordered the vegetable pho and there rice paper rolls to go. The food is delicious! Came in for some Vietnamese food to find out it's more of a Chinese restaurant than a Vietnamese one, so don't let the name fools you. I eoyld have given it zero star if I could, let's get to the reasons... 1 - Service. It was horrible, the waitress only came over 3 times, 1 to get our order, 1 to bring it to us, 1 for the check. She never came to ask if we need anything else while we waited, or more water, or if the food was to our liking. The other waiter just decided to walk away before we even finished asking him how much longer our food would take as if he didn't wanna talk to us, didn't even apologize nor give us any reason as to why our food took longer than other tables. There was no "sorry" for the delay of the food, and there was no "thank you" for our service either. 2 - Food. we ordered 3 dishes, took them over an hour, and they didn't even come out right. If you know your noodles soup, you would know wonton egg noodles don't come in Pho broth, which they do here. Fried rice came with beansprouts and was soggy, not dry as it's supposed to be, (and no egg!?). The beef hor fun (stir fried beef fat noodles), the noodles were not cooked, and since there's no black pepper or anything that's black in the dish, we found a skinny black little thing which we suspected to be rat poop, you can find the pic on this site. Don't know why this place scores so low. It's great. The people are so nice. The food is amazing. We got the spring rolls with peanut sauce, and they fill those puppies UP! Then the rare beef & brisket pho and wow is it good.. the meat is so tender and flavorful. Then we shared some sugar biscuits to finish with. I wish I took a photo but I forgot to bring my phone. Our daughter found a roach in her food and then, when owner was told about roach, she sucked her teeth and gave an attitude and would not take care of the bill or even discount for food. Ok so I was totally thrown off guard with the look of my food when it came out it looked sooo good . But then I tasted it and it was horrible. The noodles were so soggy . No flavor at all!!!! The tofu seemed as if it was already pre fried then just added to my vermicelli noodles. We also had an order of fresh spring rolls and the first bite my daughter took it completely fell apart . I have been living locally for the past 5 years. I am originally from a larger city that has a diverse ethnic population. That being said I am very picky about Chinese/ Vietnamese food. There were a few people there but it didn't seem too crowded. The atmosphere was clean and cozy. Our sever came quickly to take our orders. For apps we ordered Crab Rangoon, fried dumplings, and egg rolls. They were all piping hot and fresh. The Crab Rangoon was made with a different pastry that I'm not used to. I still thought they were tasty and would order them again. I only got a few of the dumplings. The boys I went with gobbled them up! I don't get an egg roll, I wanted to save room for the soup. The boys said they were good. We had a bit of a wait for our soups. It wasnt too long, maybe 15 min. I think the restaurant is family owned and operated. There just seemed to be two servers. Once we got our soup is smelled so good. My husband and I split the P2. Our friend ordered P1. We were all quiet for a while. All you could hear was slurping! The broth is rich and has a nice ginger flavor. It was nice and not overly oily. I added some sliced jalapeños. The fresh spices, basil and lime with bean spouts. With the salty rich broth. They have a vegan broth and can sub any meat dishes out for tofu. This is probably one of the worst Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been too. The food is terrible. I Ordered 4 dishes to go. The pho broth had no depth or beefy flavor. We were searching for something light to eat since we were still full from lunch. We decided to come here on account of all the good reviews of this place. We came at 8pm on a Friday night, and it was not crowded at all--good for us because we were a party of 8. I got the pho (p3). The meat was fine but I did not like the broth. And there were A LOT of noodles. I mean A LOT. Definitely could not finish all of it. And the worst part was that the noodles seemed overdone. The fried rice wasn't cooked that well.
