Eggs Benny with mouth watering filet mignon and Monte Cristo - both so delicious!
    Michelle F.

We love View 202. Always have. Always will. Today we had brunch which was divine. My oldest daughter baby granddaughter and me. Peter was our guy for brunch. A lovely view of the river and sounds of geese flying near on this mild overcast morning with heaters burning as we sat outdoors on the patio was perfect. Tinkly jazz music playing - my daughter had eggs Benedict with filet mignon and I had the Monte Cristo. Baby granddaughter shared. We had lavender lemonade and coffee and also the amazing bread to dip into the delicious garlic olive oil -- Peter was charming and fun. Other guests interacted with us -- it was an absolutely fabulous time. The food was out of this world. Perfect hollandaise and the filet and eggs melted in your mouth. Hats off to the chef! To add more---- We have normally only had dinner here for many years and we also had a bridal shower event here too. It was a very festive fun and delicious time for all of us ladies.

This place was very busy. Was seated quickly. Service was good. Food is a bit pricey, but tasted good. Ambiance was nice. Right by the river. Patio seating. Nice place to eat. Wish the sides were a bit bigger. 4 stars smoked prime rib. Price is a bit on the high side for the food portions. The sides were so small. The food was good. I ate everything. Tasted good. Nicely cooked.

The food here was incredible but we sat there for like 15 minutes and we had to stand up and walk over and asked for service. Maybe they were shortstaffed but I think we should've been at least offered drinks the first 15 minutes of sitting down.

My husband and I came in for our anniversary ! We were wowed by our overall service from Pete and the hostess were both wonderful! View 202 made our anniversary experience the best ever! Food was comparable to Hell's Kitchen BUT way better! We did not get to sit on the deck but the hostess took our pictures for us! We definitely plan on coming back :) 10/10 recommend checking view 202 for your next date night! Highly recommend the short rib, blueberry salad, hibiscus margarita, and the cheesecake with blueberry!

Had an amazing time at View 202! The atmosphere was perfect, as well as the food and Peter, our host, made the experience even better with his warm and attentive service. What a wonderful Father's Day experience at View 202! Peter was an exceptional host, making everything feel extra special. My dad absolutely loved it, and it was the perfect way to celebrate. Thank you again Peter.

Indoor bar area. Drinks on the patio.

Patio seating was great on a sunny Friday afternoon. We made it to Social Hour (3:30-5) which had great prices on drinks and a handful of appetizers (no pun intended). My husband and I both loved our drinks. We shared the orange rosemary edamame, which was surprisingly good. Service was fantastic. Overlooks the river.

Arrived early on New Year's Eve and scored a great table with a view. Server Peter balanced professional service with a warm sense of humor. We will be back!

I came for dinner and got fine dining. I'm very glad that I made reservations early on. Traci was our awesome waitress, and Julina was our server. Both of these ladies provided superior customer service. The house was very busy, but they were extremely accommodating. They seem to be easily managing the crowds even though it looked a little shorthanded from the employees' part. But they seemed to back up and help each other wonderfully. The design of this place was romantic. There are huge windows all around and a large deck where you can eat outside and watch the sunset. Inside the ceiling had wonderful chandeliers. Outside, they had this light array overhead that was romantic. After the sunset, the outdoor heaters were a godsend. We decided to try a little of everything so we could enjoy our anniversary out and being disabled and getting all the help that they gave us, it was a delight to have selected this place, as it was our first time in the area. TY YELP. Dinner arrived, and it was stunning with every plate that came to our table. It was a win on every point. Portions were just the right size, and they had incredible eye appeal. But that's not all. I have a very unique ability to determine deep layers of tasting flavors. The chef was totally a pro. Happy palate for all at the table. I started my meal with a very tastey, bloody mary. First came our bread basket with local sourced homage style lovely bread with a pesto dip were the basil was the star and the garlic wasn't. It even had a hint of lemon on the buds. Perfect. As an appetizer we shared the Vegan Scallops. It was Scallops Seared King Trumpet Mushrooms, Marinated in a White Wine Tamari Miso Paste Concoction, Served with Wasabi Pea Puree, Truffle Oil, Edamame, Peas, Trumpet Bacon, Garnished with Daikon Micro Greens, and Edible Flowers. OMG. amazing. I can not describe how beautiful it was or the flavors that I encountered on this salad. Then came the Prawn Blend of the Three House Made Fettuccine Pastas, Blistered Harvest Cherry Tomatoes, Confit Garlic, Asparagus, and Pesto Sauce. My wife had the Chicken Marsala. Gorgeous all. We finished with the Flourless Chocolate Cake, Blackberry Compote, Chocolate Ganache, and Vanilla Ice Cream. Save me from my happiness. Sooooo good. Lots of ice cream. Honestly, if I'm in the area, I will book and not miss the next adventure in epicurean sociability. WTG TEAM 202

I have an attachment to this place because this is where my wife and I ate the day I proposed to her. We sat outside over looking the gorgeous river. They have great tasting food and yummy desserts. We returned to the View a little over a year later to celebrate our anniversary. I reserved our table online and provided a note to them that we are celebrating our anniversary. They were sweet enough to have a plaque at our table when we arrived. I definitely recommend eating here for a nice date night or just out with the family.

For starters we had steamed clams, calamari and meatballs. For our mains we decided on their Bistro Filet Ravioli, which has Ricotta, Romano, Parmesan, and Asiago jumbo stuffed raviolis, creamy alfredo, chili flakes, topped with their signature pan-seared bistro filet tips. It was amazing. We also had their Ribeye steak at about $53.00. I think it was a 14oz hand-cut ribeye, and it had the best butter on it. It came with mashed Yukon potatoes and marinated asparagus. We will be getting all of this again. We were staying in a hotel so took home some great pasta. The service is great. The food is amazing and the place is just so cute and ever so clean.

It was comfortable, quiet, and I enjoyed watching the bartender and the kitchen staff at work. We were in time for Happy Hour and I took advantage of the $4 draft beer (Farmer's Light - fruity and fun); my wife went upscale and had a regular-priced glass of merlot ($8). Both of us had the chicken cranberry salad - it was delicious, with lots of chicken. The bread was good, too. Our server kept us fed and watered and was very helpful and pleasant. Located in the Placer Heights Plaza, next to Starbucks. Same plaza as Holiday Market and CVS Pharmacy. We were seated immediately as they were not busy. The menu was a bit different than online. Our server came to take our order. He didn't introduce himself and seemed like he didn't want to be there. We decided on the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken sandwich and catfish po' boy. When the po' boy came out, we thought it was burnt! We didn't know the catfish will be blackened by default. We thought it will be fried since it is a po' boy. The options can be blackened or fried based on the menu online. We were not given those options by our server. They brought out the food but didnt provide utensils until minutes later. Fried green tomatoes: It was good. Fried perfectly. The dressing that was tossed with the side salad was super salty. Catfish po' boy: Fish was tender but super salty as well. Fried chicken sandwich: Pretty good sandwich. Chicken was huge. The fries was so soggy, not crispy at all. Also very greasy. We were a bit disappointed as we drove out of our way to try this place. Nice ambiance though. I felt I was a bit underdressed lol

There is a definite ocean/ seafood feel. I was greater by a shy but pleasant and friendly young lady. She was helpful with the menu options and helped me understand the different specials for the day. I ordered the 1-piece fish, fried cheese bread and cup of chowder with a drink for $16.49. And just because I was craving shrimp as well, I also ordered a shrimp cocktail. This ended up being a lot more good than I could eat, and quite honestly, a great deal for the amount of food for under $30 nowadays!! The cocktail sauce is great; it has a little spicy kick but not too much to ruin the shrimp. The clam chowder is awesome. There is a lot of clam pieces, the flavor is really good and it was very filling. The fish cooked perfectly and not overly breaded and not over cooked. I was very impressed. The fried cheese bread is weird "to me" but it has a good flavor. I just wasn't crazy about the texture. Overall, if you're in the area, this is a must stop. I'm so happy I ate dinner here. Some that had been around since as far back as the 1920's. I love the ambiance, there's no bright LED lights, and the booths have nice dim lamps give just the right amount of light. The filet is always smoky and cooked perfect, and the fried scallops are amazing! I keep wanting to try the rib eye but I like the filet so much I order it every time. The salad is nothing to write home about, just over dressed lettuce and what tastes like canned green beans. But who comes here for the salad anyway? Service here is top notch, very friendly and professional at the same time. You have to get here early on a Saturday night if you don't want to wait for a table. Ordered a filet - medium (don't come at me, it wasn't mine), came out with no more than a sear. Cold, red, chewy middle. Also ordered a ribeye - medium rare. Came out with barely even any pink left in the meat. Fat was tough and chewy. I can do better with a ribeye from Walmart and my iron skillet. And next time I will. Or I'll just go to outback like I should've. Both steaks were barely seasoned at all. Let's talk about the salad. What in the cole slaw was that? It was like a 2 to 1 dressing to salad ratio. Baked potato was passable. The pound of butter and sour cream they serve to drown it in was appreciated but next time cut the amount down by half and take a few bucks off the tab. Place was also hot as Hades. Must've been at least 78 inside. Service was ~ok~. Only real standout was the younger dude who kept my water glass full. Hope he got part of the $20 tip. On the plus side, at least my bloody mary was so weak that there was absolutely no chance of me getting a DUI on the way home. I don't get the hype. People in Redding just have low standards. If you want a filet, go to Kobe. If you want a ribeye, just go to a chain (yeah it's that bad). If you want a good meal, go anywhere else.
