Pop up bars are hit or miss, and this Taylor Swift Tortured Poets Pop Up Experience was a hit, kind of. We made a reservation for 8 people and showed up as directed, only to be told our space was not ready. Our options were to stand outside & wait, wait in the tiny waiting room, or go next door to their sister gaming bar. When it was finally our turn to sit down, they sat all 8 of us at a 6 person table, which was a little extra cozy. It was musical Bingo night (more below) and they have a themed drinks bar, and cute photo ops all over the room. It's one big room with a tables and booths. You also have the add-on option to buy a friendship bracelet making experience for $10. This was not a great experience because they don't have a full set of letters in any of the beads, so finding our names was impossible. Musical BINGO - Taylor Swift pop-up and musical bingo?!? Perfect for any fan, except for the following constructive criticism: a) the song snippets lasted way too long, making the games last way too long, and b) there's no challenge if you tell people the names of the songs after you play them. Our experience here was nothing short of magical! They have the details in this place down to a T! Every single item in this place- and there are probably a thousand things- reflects an actual item in an episode ranging from the quirks of the individual offices to the loading dock area, pencil fence, memos hung all around, and more. It is the best rendition of an Office office I've ever seen outside of the show. The bartender was also epic! He was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the place and Reroll Tavern next door. He provided us with a ton of great information about the innumerable daily events both businesses offer regularly ranging from DnD training sessions to adult tea nights, trivia, karaoke, and more! I really appreciate the dedication to a theme that this place has going on! This was my third pop-up bar I attended at this location. Pink Pony Christmas on Saturday night was very fun, with a live singer covering Chappell Roan and other pop girlie songs of today. The drinks were tasty and fun for the theme, while also being strong and kind of expensive. You go for the experience and the ambiance mainly, to have fun with friends! The reservation process on OpenTable was easy and smooth. We arrived at our time and were immediately escorted to our table, no issues. This is a bar whose identity revolves around the pop up concept. I've seen concepts influenced by Twilight, Dolly Parton, the Big Lebowski and more. They go all in, too. The entertainment, decorations and food and drink menus are all built around the current theme. The execution is a bit inconsistent. Went with some friends to the Twibar pop up last night and had a good experience, but nothing spectacular. The drinks are definitely overpriced for what they are. You can tell they tried hard on the decor, but it was just okay. Pretty cheap looking. This was only my second time at a pop up bar & the last one was cheap looking too. It was still a fun time, but wish I could go to a nice pop up bar where it doesn't look like they bought things from a garage sale and hung them on the wall. I've lived up north for so long and never knew Vignettes existed around here! They have also done cool fun pop up events. The Barbie caught my eye and I had to check it out. When you get there, the place is decked out pink (love it), so many photo ops and Barbie attire / anything pink is highly encouraged! We went on a Saturday and there was live music (all the classics from 90's and 00's). Our server was very friendly and once we were ready to order she held onto our card before we closed out the tab (not sure if this is a normal thing?) We got the Maliburger and the pretzel bites, the burger was unique because there was a slice of pineapple so the sandwich is sweet! The pretzel bites were a bit salty hence the name. Highly recommend getting a reservation through either their website or on Opentable. You will have to pay a $5 fee. I would keep an eye out for the next pop up event! We had to go to Vignettes to celebrate The Barbie Movie. The decor was fun and photogenic. But I found the drinks overly sweet and the tables and chairs seemed cheap. It's fun that they do different interactive events, such as music Bingo, throughout the week and change out their themes monthly. However, once they grow I would look at investing in more quality table and chairs and providing more balanced cocktails for a more mature audience. read more

This was my first time visiting Vignettes popup bar, they were doing a Winter of Wizardry (Harry Potter themed popup.) I was very impressed with all the props and the massive animatronic dragon out in the lobby area. The staff was also dressed up to match the theme and the menu had a few fun themed cocktails. There was also a fun puzzle you could solve throughout the night for a small additional cost but there was a prize at the end! Vignettes is really fun! This is our second time visiting, this time for their Office pop up, and they always do a great job. With their attention to detail, you'll surely appreciate their touches on whatever you go there to see. We love The Office and from the entrance being like the Chili's Dundies to everything in the dining area, including classic images and quotes, we had a great time. I tried a couple of cocktails inspired by the theme that were delightfully ridiculous. What a fun place! They have a six week pop up schedule, so when we heard they were doing The Office, we zipped right over. The menu was absolutely wack. But the drinks were surprisingly good. I came with my best friend and sister who love Chappell to the Chappell Roan pop up. The decor is cute, but the drinks are expensive and not good. The food was fine, but the "Chappell Roan" was sadly lacking. They had some amateur magician they were running instead of the advertised live music...and they even shut off the Chappell on the radio. If I just showed up, ok. Even with the overpriced food and drinks. But I had to actually pay to get in. What a waste of $21 in cover. The servers were even surprised that there was the random magician and told the owner several times that people were asking for Chappell music. One table near us even started singing music and they still didn't turn it on. We were here almost an hour before they turned the music on. To be clear, the servers were attentive and good. My husband and I stopped in for drinks Friday night. The current theme is Winter of Wizardy. We loved the fun Harry Potter details and references through out the bar. I've been to two popups at Vignettes - SpongeBob and the current Halloween Apparition bar. The place really goes all out with the theme through decorations, menu items and staff that dress up. This is my new favorite place in the region! The happiness vibrations energize the room. Cocktails are superb. Customers dress per the theme. Live music is provided by exceptional musicians. And need I say - the ambiance pushes it over the top. They change out the theme every 6 to 10 weeks, painting the walls and redecorating each time. A longtime ago, in a pop up far far away....if you are not tracking, the theme was Star Wars. Attention to detail was the name of the game. This pop up was so well done. I was blown away by the drinks....all were delicious and unique! We tried so many, and they ALL were fabulous and fun! For not being a big Star Wars fan, I was still wowed by the little details. The night we went ( Thursday) they had music bingo which was a free fun activity. They offer food and we had pizza and Skywalker charcuterie board. I was not overly impressed with either and the pizza crust was burnt so I deducted a star. I did however appreciate that they offer food and maybe the other options are better. So we went and we're really excited for martini bottom and karaoke, pre read reviews and figured it was just Karen's. However we went with a reservation at 9 did the payment for it and we're sat almost immediately. However we waited 30 minutes and no one came to take our order or anything . We managed to finish coloring our pages and still nothing . I'm a server and bartender so I get being busy and it taking a minute to get to a table but no one even acknowledged us being there other then the gentleman that sat us. Other people came after us and we're served almost immediately and at that point we got up and left. I really enjoy going to the pop-ups at Vignettes! Went to Mean Girls last year and Winter of Wizardry last night. They do a great job of transforming the space into an immersive environment for each theme. I liked our drinks at Mean Girls a little better than Wizardry, but my friends and I really loved the scavenger hunt last night! It was challenging but not too difficult, and we were so excited when we completed it. Staff were great and our server was very friendly. Only complaint was that the live music was extremely loud and made it hard for us to talk to each other. The performers weren't bad, but it's hard to have live music in a space that small. I would have preferred no music, or at least something acoustic. Looking forward to coming to the Dolly Parton pop-up next month! read more

Absolutely love all the pop up bars at this place! They do a great job with the themed cocktails and decorations! My friends and I have been to the Halloween pop up and the Clue pop up! It's a bit of a hike up to North KC, and the drinks are usually a little expensive because it is a pop up bar, but the vibes are so worth it! Since it's in a strip mall, there's also usually plenty of parking even when it's busy! When we went to the Halloween pop up and there was no seating available, they let us sit in Reroll Tavern next door while we waited! since there are no reservations at this place, that was pretty nice and convenient! I'm still trying to figure out why they require you to pay for your reservation, the place felt like it was put together by high schoolers. I'll start from the beginning... 1.) I wasn't allowed to make modifications to my burger... I simply asked for no cheese because I'm lactose intolerant, but it was too much to ask for. 2.) The food took 30 minutes to come out... I can't imagine how long it'd take if they had to make it without cheese. 3.) I've thrown enough backyard BBQs to recognize those Costco patties.
