Worked with Josh on a somewhat complicated move from multiple locations that included Long Beach and Orange County. Josh made the arrangements simple and clear. I had a difficult move with a need for them to pick up three different items at different locations, which they did without hesitation, and then when they arrived in AZ on time there were some large items left at the house by the previous owners. I asked them if they could remove these large items and dispose of them and they said yes. They also delivered a heavy item to another address in the neighborhood. So what I would have to say is they made it happen, and got it done. As I told them they were a godsend. I can highly recommend them, as I was surprised at how much extra work they were willing to do in a effort to be sure the customer was happy when they left. I would think twice before using Viking Moving. Joseph, the owner/operator of the company, is dishonest and unprofessional. He may be a good mover, but I wouldn't know because he lied to me in order to weasel his way out of a job that was agreed upon. He left me in a huge bind, and funny enough, didn't have the professionalism to at least call and lie to me over the phone - he sent an email instead. That is pretty cowardly. Contacted Viking Movers on Monday morning, spoke with Joseph and let him know all details of myself moving from storage to my new condo. Had some personal things come up and had to change times and he was totally willing to work with me. Met Joseph and Jerry at my storage around 6pm they were very very helpful and careful with all my items. Took an hour to load and another hour to unload. They were both more than willing to lift all my heavy items upstairs to the second story without hesitation and they both were just all around friendly!! They were able to schedule a move on short notice - I called on Wednesday and they were able to move on Sunday. The whole crew was friendly and very professional. They were careful with corners and delicate items. They moved fast too- I was kind of amazed by how fast they took care of everything. There was a little trouble because people parked where they had put up signs, but they knew exactly what to do and handled it with little trouble. I've moved a lot in my life an have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly in movers; Joseph and his staff are the great!!! Moving is stressful any way you slice it, these guys lower the stress level significantly. Joseph arrived early, after calling to confirm earlier in the week, so he could scout and get an idea of what our needs were. His truck and crew arrived shortly after and he filled them in on our needs. Everyone introduced themselves to myself, my wife and kids and then got straight to work. Loading was quick and efficient, despite a long trek from the truck you our new location, unloading was also very efficient. One of my wife's concerns was having movers bring a single table lamp or couch pillow in our out at a time, to stretch out the move time, there was no of that. Besides their hard work, Joseph is honest and upfront about the pricing. You pay a fair hourly rate and there are no add ons. He and his crew have moving blankets, coolers for the cold items, and extra supplies if needed. They also offered to take our boxes out as we unloaded so we wouldn't have to deal with them. In the past we've had a collection of outcasts and vagabonds as part of the moving crew, but the Viking Movers are engaging and polite. At the end of the day each of the crew came back into our house, telling me they were off the clock, but asking me what I needed them to do. Above and beyond. We are moving again in 10 months when our remodel is finished and I know who I am calling. read more

What my mom and I liked is that Joseph was willing to come to our place to provide a free estimate. He took the time to assess our furniture and then to talk strategy. Over the next month we applied those strategies and because of that our move from California to Arizona was smooth. By being prepared our move out time was only two hours (2 bed unit). I feel lucky to have been recommended to Joseph and his moving service. (The best mechanic in the world, told me about Joseph, and anyone my mechanic recommends, I know must be great). I just needed to move a refrigerator from Long Beach to Altadena, which seemed simple enough...except I forgot to measure the doorway of the laundry room where the frig was going to be placed. The frig would not fit! Joseph did not give up, he tried many different ways to get the frig into that room. He understood this was a gift to my friends, and how badly I wanted them to have it. I honestly have never worked with someone who wouldn't give up like this. Only a friend would have tried this hard, and I just met Joseph. Most people don't want to think or keep trying, because it's easier to say no. After trying five different ways, I thought he was going to have to give up. But then, he suggested doing one thing differently, and it worked! I appreciate all that he did above and beyond. And he stuck to the price he quoted me even though we went over time. Did my big move yesterday. I am a single woman who's only available friend bailed on helping her out to move, so when these guys got to my apartment, it was a mess. I was worried about the cost and worried about how everything would work out, knowing that a lot of my stuff wasn't boxed up. These guys put me at ease. Viking helped my boyfriend and I move all our boxes, furniture, and appliances from Long Beach to my parents house in West Covina where we were going to stay until we were ready to move to our new home in Wrightwood. They were on time, very professional, and pretty quick! None of my stuff was broken or scratched so I was very happy about that. I was going to give them 5 stars until it came time to call them to move our stuff again. They said they didn't go there, even though when we told them we'd need them again to move to Wrightwood and they said it was okay. I also saw other peoples reviews and they've moved people even further from there. Hm. That was pretty disappointing because I wanted them to do the next move since they were so good. We got another company to do it and they broke one of my furniture pieces and scratched another.
