    super ham

Very yummy tacos. I ordered the super ham while my partner ordered a "Super" and a regular breakfast taco. Even the non-super tacos are huge!! theyre like mini burritos! The food comes out quick, ample tables for dine-in both inside and outside, and there are premade desserts also for sale.

First time coming here and I was surprised how empty it was. To be fair I was kind of early on a Saturday morning. I arrived at 8am, parking lot is behind the building. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was how clean it smelled. There's a big wall menu and it's clear they focus on tacos. You walk up to the register to order and you are given a number. I order a bacon, egg, and cheese with beans, taco and the Migas taco. Cheese and beans are .75 extra for each which seems like a bit much. My order didn't take long to come out and I decided to take it home. The bacon, egg, cheese, and bean taco was less than average for me. I did like the thick cut bacon they used and how it was cooked crispy. But the lack of flavor from the eggs and beans made this taco fall short. But the real disappointment was the tortilla. It was very thick and felt more like pita bread. Not the migas taco was better. The onion and bell peppers help give it flavor. The fried corn tortillas also harder a nice crispy texture. I decided to eat this one with a fork so I would fill up on more pita bread. I would be willing to give them another try. Next time I'll eat there and try a plate.

They seem to be a bit of a neighborhood, perhaps a city, staple for quite a while now since 1977. It's a small time spot with a location that has plenty of competition, original Ninfa's and El Tiempo are within a block or 2. Walk up counter to order from a pretty uniform menu. They have a couple of tables inside and outside, but I get the feeling there's plenty of to-go orders happening here. As a Houstonian, with plenty of experience in the Mexican food sphere, this is just an ok spot. The barbacoa tacos are well cooked but not seasoned as well as they should/could be. The chicharron tacos are fried in old oil, that's the only way I could explain the taste. That's enough of a mistake to knock a star off for me. Just not enough going well here for a recommendation.

The breakfast was really good! I wasn't a fan of the style of chicken they use for the crunchy tacos, but everything else was great. The service was impeccable and everyone I encountered was really nice. The location is in a great spot, but parking at be hard to find if they are busy. The vibes were very homey, I enjoyed it.

Breakfast tacos were delicious. I got an egg and bacon and an egg and sausage breakfast taco. Real bacon is always a plus. Both were nice size with plenty of filling. The food came out fast and the employees were friendly. It's family style seating with long tables for parties/customers to share. There were a lot of people there are the time so I was worried about finding somewhere to sit, but we did not have to wait too long for seats to open up inside. I'd definitely go back, but maybe sit outside if it's not raining next time.

Solid tacos in EaDo. Quite a few options to choose from, I got the bacon, sausage, and chorizo supers, which come with egg, potatoes, beans, and cheese. I think the bacon one is the best since you can really feel the texture of the bacon against the other fillings. My girlfriend got barbacoa and carne guisada, weird that only the barbacoa came with cilantro and onions and not the carne guisada. There's plenty of salsa verde bottles scattered among the tables, definitely ask for some salsa roja, that stuff is fire! (heh) Plenty of street parking nearby. Fair prices, decent portion size, not a crazy line on a Saturday.

Nice clean place, pretty small on the inside but we walked in and were able to sit down right away (Monday around noon). I ordered the enchilada plate and a fajita burrito with charro beans. The fajita beef burrito was tender not tough. Everything was made fresh to order and everything was so flavorful. It was an extra $1 for meat enchiladas but it was worth it! Small mom and pop places like this are usually the diamond in the rough! Definitely recommend this place!

Saw a line coming by here on the weekend and decided to check them out. They're located pretty much on Main Street Navigation in EaDo. Parking is pretty much streetside. They have limited interior seating and a few benches outside. The interior is a bit dated and was missing AC and had a humid odor. We decided to order and eat outside. Ordered a migas, barbacoa, bean and cheese, and chicharron and bean taco with an iced horchata drink. Their tortillas tasted handmade but were unfortunately a bit tough and chewy, not great. The migas mix was not good; honestly one of the more disappointing versions of migas that I've had. It was a bit bland and missing the usual rich migas flavor. The barbacoa was probably the best of the three tacos that I tried; unfortunately it was a bit greasy and somehow dry at the same time. The chicharron taco was unexpected; usually the pork skin is steamed or braised and soft; these had hard and greasy fried pieces mixed in with a generic bean spread. The grease they use was a bit heavy and tasted not quite fresh so that taco was not my favorite. The bean and cheese taco was as expected but their beans were slightly bland, so meh. The horchata was a bit watery. Overall, I think this is a fairly average taco experience. In my opinion; the breakfast tacos here doesn't hold a candle to Brothers (also in EaDo) in terms of flavor or value and the tacos here rank below even some of the less authentic taco spots inside the loop. I appreciate the handmade tortillas, but by toasting them, the texture and mouthfeel wasn't the best. The portions for each taco is honestly fair and larger than most street tacos.

I am always on the hunt for a good breakfast taco or burrito. Looks like I have found the best one in Houston so far. I actually saw this place on Eat Like A Local. Chris Shepard showcased this spot and I trust that man. It is an old building off Navigation and has been around since the 70's making homemade tortillas and tacos. They open early and close at 2 everyday. My first visit was in person. This place is small with some tables inside as well as some seating outside. There was a line when I came in and it can feel a little cramped. Customer service was good. I've only ordered the breakfast tacos here, but they do have a huge variety of breakfast and lunch tacos, breakfast and lunch plates, and sides. They have your everyday breakfast tacos around the 3 dollar range. For a little over 4 bucks you can get a super taco. Price wise it seems a little high for a taco, but they do no skimp on these things. I got a couple of super bacon tacos. These things had some weight to them. A mini burrito perhaps. It was filled with perfectly cooked, crispy bacon, eggs, potatoes and beans. The other tacos are specifically filled with what's in it's name. I thought I could kill super tacos easily, but I was full after just one. I saved the other one for lunch later. My recent orders have been through DoorDash to my workplace. We made a large order and they had everything just right and it kept its temp perfectly. I've tried all the super tacos and they are all good. Bacon is the frontrunner for me. They have red and green sauces for the tacos. The green is good, but the red packs some heat and tastes good as well. This isn't stopping my quest for the best breakfast tacos in town, but I will be comparing everything to this spot for now. I will be back.

Great spot. I would expect somewhat of a line. We got lucky and there wasn't one but it built as we waited. The people were really nice. We really enjoyed the bacon egg and cheese. They house make the flour tortillas and have store bought corn tortillas. Honestly wouldn't recommend the chorizo. It doesn't have that chorizo flavor or kick.

Arrived on Sunday evening around 7:30. Was sat immediately. Not my first time here so I knew the menu, my friends did not. So they needed time to see what drinks they wanted because they like cocktails and the menu is not small and they had to choose which ones they wanted because the options are good. When they decided, the cocktails straggled out. Two came out but the other two did not, They just sat at the bar as my friends sat with there with their drinks in front of them waiting on ours so we can toast to a wonderful day with a new member of the group. You would have thought the other staff would step in or at least the bartender would see that the waiter was in the weeds and needed help. That's when I knew we should have not come. The food was all lukw warm. The appetizer of queso was like warm with chunks of cheese floating around and some of the chips were fresh and others stale. A mixed bag you can say. My Flautas where luke warm, so was the side of beans and rice. My friends said their tacos were okay. My friend who got the Caesar Salad, there was no dressing on the salad not was there a side of dressing that came with it. We had to ask for it. I did not have the energy to try to keep wrangling the waiter. If you want to shut the kitchen down early because the day was long I get it. Let the customer know, I get it. I used to wait tables to but I would never give people luke warm food or luke service. The staff seems not to have one anothers back. I did not eat my food, I took my food home to reheat it so I could eat it at the proper temperature. My friend took his salad home because he had more Caesar dressing at home. Left a bad taste in my mouth and very disappointed. The service and food from the last time compared to this visit was night and day. Total miss. $200.00 thrown away. I paid because I could not let my friends waiste there money on someplace I raved about. Maderas is really a small cute spot. It's rare I have bad service when I go out to eat because I am not a difficult customer and I know I am not the only one they are serving. I will wait for good food and sit back and enjoy the atmosphere and my friends until it arrives. I would not put pressure on the staff or the kitchen. Also I will not arrive just before closing and make a resteraunt and it's staff stay open late because I am hungry. I rather come when the staff and the restaurant wants to recieve customers.

At brunch, the papas bravas come as small cubes of fried potato with an airy crunch that gives way to a soft, pillowy center - the kind of deeply satisfying bite that makes conversation briefly irrelevant. Crisp prosciutto adds salt, aioli brings richness, and smoky chile sauce keeps it lively. They're served with cactus-handled toothpicks, which are almost offensively adorable. The chilaquiles divorciados are another hit. The chips are dressed with salsa rather than drowned beneath it, so each one arrives ready for the perfect bite. It's a small distinction, but an important one. Then there are the enfrijoladas: rolled quesadillas in fluffy tortillas, covered in creamy black bean sauce and plated with more care than bean and cheese might seem to warrant. The dish is fundamentally simple, but that's the point. Soft tortilla, savory beans, melted cheese, bright salsa. Familiar ingredients transformed into something deeply comforting--the culinary equivalent of curling up beneath a warm blanket on a cold morning, even if Houston rarely provides one. Dinner shifts into another gear. The crudos are sensational, especially the tuna tiradito - a rolling wave of flavor and texture. While deciding whether our party should wait or go elsewhere, I went to the bar to order a drink. After ordering, the bartender told me that if I was only having a drink, I needed to move. Apparently, sitting at the bar required ordering a meal. At that point, we had experienced enough. Between the unpleasant valet experience, the indifferent response at the hostess stand, the two-hour wait, and then being told I couldn't sit at the bar simply to have a drink while we decided what to do, the overall message was clear: we did not feel welcome here. My wife, the rest of our party, and I decided to leave and have dinner elsewhere. A busy restaurant is understandable. A long wait is understandable. The Fajitas are my fave thing on the menu, but nothing to write home about. The reason I took off a star (was going to give 3) is because of some personal issues I have with them. When picking up an order here, you get a notification to say, come to the store. That happens to me when I pick up take out in a lot of places, these days, and when I do, it is either ready, or it takes 5 more min or 10 more min (because they mark it ready when it is not. Generally I'm okay with it, if it's less than 10 min. Candente? 20 min or 30 min. Even when it's not busy. They'll mark orders as ready (to make themselves look efficient I imagine) even when they are completely dead, and then will not actually start cooking the order until you get there to pick it up (I know, because I see people come in at the same time I'm there to pick up, order a similar thing, and 20-30 min theirs and mine comes out at a similar time). So just frustrating, is all. The owner is a Texan guy from Kingwood, he also owns the Pit Room BBQ nearby, which is similarly very fancy and successful. Don't let my bad experiences here put you off from trying it. If you want a list of real Mexican gems (and mostly dirt cheap), ask me, but you won't find any Tex Mex on there at all, to be honest. Just not my thing, in the same way that I think American Chinese take away has nothing on Chinese Chinese, such as Sichuan or Xi'an or Hunan cooking.
