Newly opened, but the owner is a long-time restaurateur with many years experience and an excellent cook. I've been 4 times now and have had great service and delicious food. The wait can be a bit long on Friday and Saturday night, but all-in-all a good family restaurant with clean facilities and friendly staff. read more

This restaurant had a lot more hype than it deserves due to location - there's nothing else out here to compete with them. Customer service is horrendous here and I have had to wait ridiculous amounts of time on more than one time for just ice tea there- left with empty chips an uncomfortable amount of time and had to sit forever to get the bill as well. We have been about 3 time now , food is always excellent. Chips and salsa are delicious. Steak fajitas are flavorful and very tender. We always have great service. We moved to eagle mountain lake on this Azle side so thrilled to have a great place to eat since Azle is definitely lacking in that department. read more

Five stars might seem a bit much for a Mom and Pop TexMex spot in a small town Texas so consider the genre Im working with here. I've eaten TexMex all over the state and had a sampling from very good to "bleh". The key for me is taste first and then consistency. We lived in the city for 25+ years and had dozens of options. So much depends on what you like and how you like it. We consistently come back to Villa del Sol because the food is both good and consistent. We typically split fajitas and I order chalupas/tostadas a la carte. The fajita meat is delicious and again, consistent from visit to visit. Like most places it comes out on a searing hot skillet and there is never a shortage of onions red and green peppers. Occasionally, the wife gets a taco salad, nachos and is a chips and salsa expert. Always good. Ask for the green sauce. A bit spicier and delicious. Happy hour runs from about 4:00(?) or so but check in to be sure. A large Margarita is a bargain. I've also had several versions of their chili rellenos, the ocassional enchiladas and various tacos. All good. Our bill usually comes in between $28 and $35 which we think is pretty reasonable. The staff is always friendly although sometime service is pressed because the place is packed most nights. If you like the food, this might be your spot as it will be what you like time and time again. (Plus we like supporting local businesses)! read more

This place is TERRIBLE!! My family and I recently moved here and are trying to find our new restaurant spots. First, they offer large or small margaritas, the large was the size of a NORMAL sized margarita. In addition to this, the margarita was poorly made and had barely any tequila. Then I asked if I could have beef flautas and it became this huge deal, and they increased the cost $2. The best part is after I said this was fine they came back and said they could not do it. We eventually got our food and my flautas were sooo small and solid as a rock, they had no cheese on them or in them, and I did not get any of my dips. Also, my beans were cold and dried out. As we tried to make the best out of the situation my mom pulled a piece of plastic from her mouth. Not sure where it came from as she had the enchilada fajita special... To top all of this off, every time the waiter came to our table he accidentally hit my broken leg. Luckily, it did not hurt; but not one time did he acknowledge it (even though I kept moving it further under the table). Besides, this terrible unusual experience. The food overall was not worth the price, the service was just OKAY, and I really just feel pissed and upset we had to pay this much for an experience that was really just TERRIBLE! read more

Ordered delivery. They said it would be an hour. We said great. After and hour I messaged them and they said they are on the way. After another 45 mins (we live 3.8 miles from the restaurant) I get in car to drive over and get a refund because no one was answering. As I am driving over my husband calls and said they were there. Well our food was cold and they forgot the 2big margaritas we were charged for. I get to restaurant and explain to them what happened,the women was rude and didn't even try to make it right and demanded we give them the food back. I said sure it's still with your delivery driver on her way back here. Very disappointed in their service. It would have been an $80 order with tip. Glad Azle is finally getting some variety. Attentive wait staff and good food. In my opinion food is better than El Paseo.

Azle's newest Tex-Mex restaurant, Villa Del Sol, has fantastic food and good service. Their chips remind me of Uncle Julio's -- very thin and crispy. IMPORTANT -- they have three kinds of salsa, available on request: The regular, which any Texan kid could drink, the Salsa Verde, which is pleasantly spicy and green, and a Habanero salsa that is lethal. We dipped a chip in it and shook off the excess, then dipped that chip in the regular salsa and stirred it around. We then took a fresh chip and dipped it in the now hotted-up regular salsa, and it still made our eyes water and our lungs convulse. Himself had the Chile Relleno plate (huge pepper!) and I had the Chipotle Shrimp with delicious sautéed veggies and a tiny salad instead of rice. Great stuff! Prices are fair for what you get (though $2 tea always pisses me off), and portions are more than adequate. They'll have their liquor license soon. Welcome to Azle, Villa Del Sol! read more

Food its ok, not great. The waitress was awesome, great crew. Except for the manager that screams and curses the crew in front of everybody. It was awkward. He insults them in spanish thinking that the customers don't understand. I felt so bad for the girl because I know spanish. It was like this mexican macho act. So unclassy. I love the food and the staff. It's a great place to eat. Just wish they had booths. It's really busy a lot of the time, but worth it. If I could eat there every day I would,. But if you haven't tried it, you need to. I took some of my family there to eat at different times and they loved it. When I first saw the name on the building, I thought it was a spa, hair salon/ nail place and there was always a lot cars. I thought the place was doing great for a spa.
