Great homemade Italian food and the appetizers , were amazing. Shrimp scampi and calamari.. yum! I had the Italian shrimp scampi with Angel hair pasta .. OMG..

I always love local restaurants that offer great food and excellent service, and Villa Italia is just this kind of place. Located in the downtown area of Conroe, Villa Italia is located in an old house converted to a quaint restaurant. On the night I was here Maria and I were the only guests. We reviewed the menu and I selected the Tomato Basil soup as an entree, Maria selected the Spaghetti with meatballs. If an Italian restaurant messes these 2 staples up, they should not call themselves Italian. Fortunately Villa Italia served a delicious bowl of tomato soup with warm garlic bread. It was well seasoned with large pieces of fresh tomato in a rich tomato base. The fresh basil gave the soup a fresh bite. The spaghetti pasta was perfectly prepared with a light marinara that while light was not lacking in fresh flavor. The meatballs were delicious with a soft juicy texture. I really enjoyed Villa Italia and do plan to return soon with friends and family. Support this locally owned non-chain restaurant - you will not be disappointed.

I visited this highly rated Italian spot in Conroe which reminded me a little of a spot in the…read moreHumble/Atascocita area since they both advertise their supposedly outstanding garlic knots. Come to find out Marsala's also has a location in Huffman, but they are not related to my other fav spot. Inside, the restaurant is actually small, I was expecting it to be much larger. They do bring you their garlic knots right at the beginning of the meal, but they did not look or taste much like my other fav Italian place in NE Houston. The bread at Marsala's was dry and crusty (the other place has soft and pillowy bread) and there was no drippings or garlic butter resting at the bottom of the bowl, so I just ate a little of the interior of the knot itself. I ended up choosing a lighter dish, shrimp scampi, since I was still full from lunch and my dining companion chose the chicken penne. I'm not sure whether the chef was out sick or what happened exactly, but both dishes came out from the kitchen really bland. There was no salt or seasoning to the food. The pasta also didn't seem like the water was salted during cooking. We mentioned this issue to our server, who then told the manager. They were really apologetic and even comped our entrees even though that wasn't our original intention. I just wanted to know what happened and why there was no seasoning at all in the food. We left and of course didn't bother to order dessert. In summary, the service was really good, I will give them that much, but the food was barely edible. I'm just not sure I would even come back to try other dishes since these two we ordered just could have been so much better.

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

I'd have to say, the sandwich was pretty life changing and it's something I want to try to replicate, but likely can't 100%. Although they have many sandwiches to choose from, the Stallone was the one recommended to me. The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and has a concoction of pesto, cheese, tomato and garlic? Inside it's LOADED with capicola, ham, salami, soppresata, and provolone. The sandwich was definitely a flavor bomb and I still think about it til this day. I would love to go back and try some other sandwiches of theirs too!

We started our meal off with some fabulous cocktails but the waitress who said she was in training brought our drinks without using a tray and her fingers were all over my martini glass and my husband's drink near the rim where we were gonna drink out of! She was trying very hard to keep her hand steady and I thought for sure it might spill it. I wiped the glass off but still...Gross! That's what the stem is for! Straw please! Why was she not being monitored if she was still in training or at least properly trained? Do I fully blame her...no. Then she picked up our leftovers to box up and she piled up the dishes on the plate of food we were to take home! I almost lost it! Does she lack some common sense? Yes! Who piles dishes on top of my food when I'm supposed to eat it later? WTF? I was afraid to eat my leftovers after this debacle. Where did she get her food card? Having worked in hospitality for many years I gotta say train your wait staff properly and keep a shadow with them until they're fully trained to serve and then guess what? Some people are just not cut for white table cloth service. After spending over $150 here I was very disappointed. I hope they fix this mess. Our visit was unacceptable.

The chicken Alfredo pizza was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy--comfort food done right. And the cheese pizza? Simple, but executed perfectly.
