I have been using Mountain Mike's in Castro Valley for party orders for years. This time I used them for a 5th grade luncheon. I ordered 16 mountain sized pizzas to be delivered at 11:30. I didn't know if that would be possible with them opening at 11 but they made it happen! The pizzas were hot and delicious. The children loved it! I could not be happier. I made my order online the day before to make sure that they knew they were walking into a large order right at opening so I hope that helped. Delivery guy was very sweet and offered help. Came here on a limb because we got a Mountain Mike's coupon for 15% off and didn't have high expectations for it because I have my favorite pizza spots, but needed to eat dinner. Decided to eat in on a Tuesday night; it was completely empty besides the 4 or 5 workers. What really surprised me about this location was that they have a few seats to the left when you walk in but as you go down a narrow hallway, you'll pass some coin game machines and further ahead are several long tables and an upstairs with plenty of seating to accommodate large parties. This place hosts a lot of local school/sport and adult team dinners and events. Seating is not an issue here - small or team size, they've got you covered. If you have small kids or enjoy claw or arcade machines, they have a variety to choose from at the back of the restaurant to play while you wait for your pizza near the salad buffet section. The pizza came out within 15-20 minutes. Each slice had a good topping proportion and tasted pretty yummy! I'm not usually a big crust person; however, the crust on this pizza had the right amount of softness and firmness and it wasn't too thick which was perfect for me. I placed an order at 4:05 and didn't get my pizza until 5:40... it was supposed to be here, at the latest 4:50. I called at 5:03 to ask about it and the guy told me it had been dispatched, it still took almost 45 minutes. Once I received my food the driver let me know that he gave my 2 liter soda to someone else but he did pay me back with his own money, I'd rather have my drink but he was apologetic. There was a minor inconvenience while I was eating here first time and the manager who was on clock handled the seen very well, 3 kids came and was very disrespectful not cooperating and asked for water cups and got soda instead of paying for the soda. I arrived exactly at the time and was not greeted warmly, he checked on my order and said that the person was making it at the moment which should take another 7 minutes or so. There was no one else in the place and it didn't seem like other orders were being made. No apologies that my order would be a longer wait. I was very hungry for some pizza today so I gave them a try. Then I've became disappointed that it didn't get delivered on time. What got me even more disappointed is 10 minutes after the expected delivery time I got a phone call from them that it was put in the oven 5 minutes after I received the phone call. So, I requested a refund and provided feedback that a customer should be contacted at least between 15 to 30 minutes after the order if was made if they are running late. I'm sure they wouldn't want one of their employees calling 10 minutes after their scheduled shift to explain that they are going to be late for work. My total was 27 bucks, which I thought was a little high for 2 basic items. They charged me for 2 orders of garlic bread and had them in the order. I told the cashier I only ordered one and: No response , just a stare, no apology or offer to remove the error. OK I'll take it, the family will eat them. I get to car and peek in the box to find over cooked, HARD garlic cheese bread! I called from car and they said they would make a new order. I order delivery from this particular Mountain Mike's pizza often. However, for the past eight months their service has been horrible. Two times they forgot my 2 Liter but I still continued to order from them because people make mistakes. More recently, I ordered pizza breadsticks, and a 2 liter for delivery. They told me it would be there in an hour and 30 minutes . A hour and 45 min past so I called and they said he was on the way. Another 40 min past so I called again and the delivery guy is back at Mountain Mike's Pizza and said that he couldn't find me. I've been ordering there for over a year with the same address. He has my number and didn't call me to tell me he was outside and couldn't find my address? I called and complained they took about three dollars off of my order. Thanks! I got my pizza 2 1/2 later cold. I called today to order pizza with a coupon. He's telling me to give him a coupon code. Yet the whole sheet of coupons have no codes on them. He tells me he can't help me and he hast to go. I asked him his name. He told me his name is Mike how convenient is that? We've been hanging on to a coupon for a free medium pizza and decided to finally cash it in. This place is not half bad! We did think that they forgot our order when we arrived because they couldn't find our pizza, but turns out our name was taken down incorrectly. No biggie. I chose sausage for my one free topping medium pizza, and the sausage was juicy and amazing. Super cheesy too, yum! I chose a supreme style pizza for the second one, and loved that the veggies were baked but not overcooked. This review needed to be written a while ago when I saw some of the staff in the area where the food is prepped, eating right over the vegetable storage. No one washed their hands and seemed to go right back into meal preparation. Today I called to place an order, as I have done the last 3 years and the man who answered claimed he couldn't hear me. I only raised my voice a bit because I repeated myself 5 times and he still coild not understand me and then he slammed the phone in my face. I called back and asked for a manager and each time I asked he replied with "who dis?" Or "who is this?". I finally said please put a manager on the phone and he hung up again. I called back after a few minutes and another rude individual answered the phone and seemed to be more than uninterested when I told him what just happened and asked for the manager. I stopped ordering from Bronco Billy's for this same reason where the staff act as though they have better things to do than the job THEY applied for.
