Tried this local Italian soy for the first time on a Saturday night. Server very attentive... delicious bread and oil and cheese without asking.. Off to a great start. Ordered Veal Parm. So.. to me, it was ok. Found it to be mushy breaded. Here's the thing... so many places like this take a beautiful pounded veal chop that's breaded and flash fried till crispy and perfect... then they dump a ton of sauce on it which kills the crisp. If they put the sauce on the plate and just melt the cheese on the veal it would take this up 10 degrees. And the pasta was meh. Should be al dente ion a bowl .rather than strewn across the plate like a display pad for the mushy veal. Sorry.. it was a was a lazy saucy mess. Would I go back? Maybe... it wasn't anything that stood out as better than.. it was just ok . And we really wanted to be wowed. Anyway.. that's our view. read more

My wife and friends have been going here for many years. Always very good. They last few times have been very disappointing. Just last night my wife had Chicken Francaise and the the chicken was terrible. Also my friend had Mussels and they were not edible. Our server Marianne was terrific. First time visiting Villa Rosano for my husband's 60th birthday. We arrived just before our 7:00pm reservations. At first we were showed the 3 tables we'd be sitting at and then Villa Rosano decided to give our table(s) to other people and instead have us wait for a smaller round table. At 7:20pm they showed us to our table, 11 chairs circling an 8 top. There would be virtually no way to pull your chair to the table; we'd be eating with plates on our laps if we chose to stay at that table. The manager of the restaurant reluctantly came out to help us. He was rude & impatient when we requested to sit somewhere else. We pushed to sit at a 2 four tops pushed together as we waited for the 3rd four top to become available. It boggles the mind why any business, let alone a restaurant, would treat new customers to this kind of service. Our waiter was a nice guy, but his kindness did not overcome the nasty experience we encountered. On a side note, the owner of the restaurant was there the entire evening. At no point did any person in management or otherwise stop over once we were seated to check in on us, or for that matter, apologize for any inconvenience. Acknowledging a mistake was made, from my perspective, certainly would have made the evening a small bit better. As it was, taking out 11 people to dinner to celebrate, did not feel very celebratory in the least. read more

My family has been going here for years. Every time my wife and I get a chance to join them -- WE DO! Villa Rosano is the closest thing to the Bronx here in south Florida, no doubt. Frank, the owner, is a true gent. He always comes to the table, says hello and has a little conversation with us. Runs a great restaurant. We're usually taken care of by Stephanie, also. She's awesome. Very friendly and a true pro. Gabe, the maítre d', is also a true gent! He's runs the floor better than just about anyone in the business. I always feel like family when going there. As for the food, fughettaboutit! Everything is fresh and delicious. His gravy is off the charts. Tastes like old school Sundays back in the Bronx. We ordered Fillet Of Sole Francese with a side of steamed broccoli, Rigatoni Bolognese, And eggplant parm with a side of penne with oil and garlic. Everything was fresh and delicious - I would highly recommend take out! Servings were generous. Pasta I asked for was not whole wheat, but I wasn't going to take away a star since the eggplant was actually perfect! Thin, not too much sauce and the perfect amount of cheese. We really felt like we wasted time and money here. We are local and had been wanting to try as we live close by, and it's always packed which typically is a good sign. First, we got seated all the way in the back - not the end of the world but changed the atmosphere for us immediately, when compared to the front. We even had a reservation. 1 of the side plates was dirty and the waitress apologized but never replaced it, so we were a plate short when the bread came out. We overheard another waiter giving specials so asked our waitress and she listed off a few. The lasagna was horrible - cold and had no real flavor. The spaghetti and meatballs and sausage barely had any sauce and everything was dry and overcooked on the plate. The tables were so crammed in and the table that came in after us kept complaining how they had no space, which made us even less comfortable there. As we were wrapping up, the waiter for the next table rattled off a whole list of specials - probably 3x as many as we had been told, with much more detail too. Whenever we needed our waitress, she literally was standing on a wall staring into space and we would have to watch her to try to get her attention. This is conveniently located down the street from my parents house so we end up there during most of my trips home. Or at least we try to go there, but there is often a very long wait. Apparently my parents aren't the only ones this is convenient for! During this past trip we picked up food from here instead of even trying to brave a long wait. I ordered their delish pecan crusted chicken salad and helped myself to some of my stepdad's chicken parm as well (served with a side of pasta). When I informed the waitress she didn't offer to remake but rather asked if I wanted something different. Not sure why I didnt push to have the Shrimp parm remade. As good as it possibly gets in terms of an Italian Restaurant, and for sure one of the best I've ever had. The food quality here is fantastic, the atmosphere is small, but makes you really feel like your in an Italian atmosphere. Their pasta is fantastic, especially the Fiocchi, a must try. The only gripe I have about Villa Rosano is the price points here are much higher than they should be, a factor which really drives down my rating. A dish you could get somewhere else might cost you $5 more at Villa Rosano. Also, everything is a la carte, so don't expect to get a salad or anything else with you main meal. I look it as you get what you pay for, because despite the costs, the quality is also much better here than any other place I've been to. Got here pretty early ..... no one but us 5:30ish By 6 it was getting pretty full by 6:30 couldn't get a table Waitress was great very attentive and friendly . Had caprisi it was very good not the best but good. My main dish was lasagna... yeah I know ...... really lasagna..... I was in the mood ...... it was very good also not the best but yes good , I do recommend . I ended with cappuccino and this vanilla and chocolate gelato dessert, very good , enough for 2. This was my second visit to VR as the temporary bachelors Orphan George and Burj were invited here for dinner by our gracious hosts Aunt Erlene and Orphan Ken. This is busy place situated in a Publix shopping center in the West Boca area but don't let the location fool you as the ambiance of this place is very nice. The service here is always top notch and though it can get a bit noisy as it was the Sunday evening we were there the food is very good. Our meal was started with some nice warm bread with the usual olive oil and cheese dip and this time we did not order any starters as we knew the servings were going to be very generous. Aunt Erlene had a very large bowl of the Minestrone soup which she gulped down, Orphan Ken had the Pasta Bolognese which he could hardly finish and bagged the rest. Orphan George had the Linguine with Clams which I had the last time and he too loved it ....but bagged half his meal. As for me I decided to go with my all time favorite which was the Chicken Francese and once again it was extremely flavorful and done just right...... and yes no Doggy Bags for this Orphan! We had a good time even though it was hard to have much of a conversation due to the table next to us who all seemed to be audiotarily challenged and it reminded me of the line in Goodmorning Vietanam when Robin Williams is requested by the Gunnery Sargent as to his request and he said play anything as long as "YOU PLAY IT LOUD"!! My wife and have eaten here 3 times in the last 6 months and I have 2 friends who ate here as well We all thought the food was of very high quality, very tasty and as good as we have had in New York City or downtown Boca at half the price. Also the portions were large with enough to take home for a second meal and the wait staff was pleasant and professional. It seems to be a local favorite for it os frequently busy even in off hours I have had the veal Marsala and lasagna all very good and my wife likes the pasta Bolognese. The bread is good salads are good though not included with the dish. They have pizza for dinner and they offer lunch portions during the day . Can be a little noisy in peak hours. Deserts and coffee was very good. I did not feel rushed at all. It's my go to spot when I have guests in town to impress. read more
