If I could give 10 stars I would! We had the most amazing experience at this incredible restaurant! Everything could not be more perfect. The wait staff was attentive, but not overbearing, helpful and genuine. The ambiance was relaxed but classy. My only concern was the noise level when the restaurant was full. Meaning a little hard to have a conversation. When the food arrived conversations were over! We were there to eat not talk...and eat we did.. I was disappointed with our recent visit. The food was fair overall, and the experience began with a less-than-welcoming greeting. The staff seemed somewhat unhappy and disengaged, including at the front with more than one person at the desk, when place had maybe 3 tables fill. . Our waiter was fine, but overall the tone of the room felt less than welcoming. We had confirmed in advance that a promotion advertised on OpenTable would be honored, but when the bill arrived, our server was not aware of it. We asking him to check, he did adjust the bill, which we appreciated. However, no manager or staff member came by to acknowledge the confusion or offer an apology. We were surprised to have no acknowledgment but see gratuity added for a party of four auto added $48. Not an issue with amount just issue with how it was handled and why. As for the food, only one person in our party of four was satisfied. The clams breading was overcooked, the pasta was undercooked, and the sauces and main dishes were average. The bread was stale, even after being served toasted. That didn't hide the lack of freshness. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not return. suggestions: creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere would go a long way.If offering a promotion feels burdensome ? it may be worth reconsidering? No one said good night. This review is long overdue. About three months ago my girlfriend and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner here. We had reservations and we arrived a few minutes before they opened. They were kind enough to seat us early, which we appreciated. Positano's serves a forty dollar three-course prix fixe menu every day, year round. Great value. With sixteen entrées on the menu to choose from, there is something for everyone. I went with the baked clams oreganata as my first course. The seven clams were very small but quite good. I had the house salad with creamy Italian dressing for the second course. It was just a basic salad, but it was nicely chilled and I loved the dressing. Ravioli Di Ossobuco was incredible and I am glad I picked that as my main dish. The ravioli were in a marsala type of sauce and this was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to order this dish again. Portions were large and I had enough ravioli for my lunch the next day. The restaurant is lovely and the service is top notch. I was pleasantly surprised that the prix fixe menu was not only a great value, but really turned out to be an enjoyable dinner. The food is excellent, the service was wonderful and for forty dollars, you can have a nice dinner without breaking the bank. They open daily at 5pm and reservations are strongly encouraged. We had an excellent experience here -- from start to finish. In fact, even before we got there. My friend had called for a reservation outside of their business hours expecting to leave a message on an answering machine. A very nice gentleman answered the phone and took our information. She remarked on it to me. We were meeting for an early dinner as she was getting out of work early. As we both were parking our cars right out front, we realized that we were there before the restaurant even opened. It was very hot outside. We decided to see if we could be let in before they opened. And yes, they were nice enough to let us enjoy their air conditioning while they were still setting up the tables for the evening. The ambiance inside was welcoming and cozy. They had a 3-course prix fix menu that we both decided was appealing. Each course -- appetizer, soup/salad, and entree -- had a lot of options. It was hard for me to decide exactly what to order. We both chose their baked clams oreganata. The stuffed clams were tiny but delicious and we both liked them. For the second course, we both chose a salad. She had the house salad, and I had the Caesar. The salad was good as well. For our entrees, I had wanted the trout listed on the menu which they didn't have that evening. They were able to substitute cod for the Francese sauced fish dish. It was excellent. Perfectly cooked in a light but very lemony sauce. The portion was large, so I took half home for another meal. My friend ordered the ossobucco stuffed ravioli. She said it was very good. And she, also, took half of her meal home. We did look over the (separate) dessert menu to see if anything appealed, but we were both quite full. I had a coffee so we could continue to chat and relax after dining. We had excellent service throughout from Thomaso (sp?) who was gracious and efficient. I drove by Positano and decided to go for an impromptu dinner and was surprised by how superior the food was than on prior visits. Everything we had was better than most local Italian restaurants and the seafood was better than most South Florida seafood restaurants. We started with a generous and complimentary bread basket and then tried many items and the food ranged from good to excellent. Basics such as Chicken Parm had a cleaner fresher taste than other more expensive restaurants. Often restaurant lobster can be overcooked, dry and lacking in flavor but here it was the opposite and was excellent. Pastas were also very good as was a Stuffed Pepper. We had wine and drinks and prices were very fair and the reasonable prices extended to food. Service was better this time around but the staff seem a little rigid. The dining room is a little too staid and sedate for me and I prefer a different vibe but that's a preference issue and not a big deal. We were three couples here for a Saturday evening dinner. It was crowded and very noisy. It was very hard to hear our friends talk. Even our waiter misunderstood my order and got it wrong. There were 3 courses. I had the charcuterie to start, then a salad and last, the veal chop Milanese. All were good. Price was fixed at $42. We sat on the porch which had clear plastic walls to keep out rain and insects. It's difficult to appreciate eating out during the holiday season when you want to hear your friends talk. read more

We were seated outside next to the server access door so I was bumped into no less than fifty times during our meal. I don't understand all the negative reviews here from the snowbirds. Not sure what they are expecting. The prix fix menu is sort of like the McDonald's value meal...it's designed to give you a restaurant experience, but protect you from a bad case of Boca restaurant sticker shock. We arrived on location and were greeted by the valet who parked our car. Up the rampway, toward the back, we found the entrance. Inside we were greeted, our reservation located and we were seated immediately by the maitre'd who suggested we dine outside as the noise level inside was very high. We never dine outside, but this night, the air was cool and comfortable, and the dining area did not face the road or the parking lot. Our server greeted us and said he would return shortly to allow us time to examine the extensive menu. We already knew that we were going to try the prix fixe three-course menu because it would give us the opportunity to try a variety of offerings. Bread came out--delicious, fresh hot foccacia and a hard crust loaf. The waiter took our orders and never tried to sway us away from our choices. I thoroughly enjoyed my stuffed pepper appetizer. It was tasty, hot and much larger than I anticipated. My wife loved her meatball appetizer and the other couple enjoyed their eggplant. Dinner was well paced. We never felt that we were being rushed or that we were waiting too long. Next, I had the spaghetti with garlic and oil. The pasta tasted like home made, the sauce just right. I thought it was a far better choice than the house salad which was very fresh looking. My wife had the shrimp parm--three large shrimp breaded and cooked to perfection. I had the veal parm--three large tender pieced of veal in a very fresh tomato sauce. The other couple enjoyed their selections as well and we all agreed that we have to return for dinner to try other menu items. Traditional Italian food (dinner service only) served in a comfortable dining room or outside on lovely patios with solid roof protection from rain and overhead fans. The waitstaff was kind, patient and attentive. We had chicken Parmesan, veal Marsala, and the Sorrento gnocchi. All were delicious, fresh and served with pasta. Didn't start off very well. My wife who's office is in the same building went there in person to make the reservation. When we arrived, they had no record of the reservation and we were a party of 6 . They accommodated and seated us outside. They now have a huge front patio and a smaller side patio. We have been going to this restaurant regularly for about 4 years now. Unfortunately. I have lost respect for their business ethics and will no longer dine there. It used to be delicious food and excellent service. Both of those criteria have diminished. The last 3 times I was there, it was an unreasonable wait time to be served. One time our order was wrong and after taking so long the food is served cold! I can go to McDonald's Donald's for that kind of meal and treatment. The owner/manager told us twice that he would take care of us next time. NEVER HAPPENED. Too bad this used to be a n enjoyable restaurant! Run pass this restaurant. Reservation: I placed my reservation on line and called Positano who confirmed same. I also received a Text Message that my reservation was confirmed. Upon my timely arrival, Positano said my reservation was for a different time. When I notified them I had a text to confirm, they then seated us on the side patio at the first table where it was extremely tight. Service: the waitress was clearly overwhelmed. She took a very long to bring me ice. A simple request took such a long time to fulfill, and the rest of the meal continued as such. She also brought us the wrong bottle of wine, which we brought to her attention and Ciro's attention, the owner. They then brought us the correct bottle but tried to blame us for the misshap. Check: we received the check and was getting ready to pay ,when the waitress comes with a higher priced check. She said she forgot to charge us for a dinner. I really don't know where to go with this one. Let's start off by saying food is decent. I ordered meatballs with ricotta that was out of this world. I also ordered the pasta Fagioli soup, and I wasn't really impressed. It had plenty of broth and vegetables, but it didn't tickle my fancy at all. For the main dish, I ordered a veal Parmesan. Did your Parmesan was excellent considering, I found the sauce lacked some taste, but overall it was delicious. I found the veal patty to be small. I ordered the three-course meal that seems reasonably priced. My biggest issue with the entire experience was waking up the next day feeling bloated from the salt. I did have a piece of the flourless chocolate cake that was excellent and perfect for any chocoholic The service was slow but considering we're just coming out of a pandemic and restaurants are suffering for help, it didn't create much of an issue. I had to chase the waiter down a couple of times to refill my ice tea. Whether I go back or not is another story, the value was definitely there, but the overall experience was not. Most meals come with a salad or soup and a side of pasta. For under $40, you can get a three course meal. The noise level was high both inside and out. I have discomfort with this review. Usually Positano has always been a good local restaurant. Tonight was a disappointment. We arrived at 8:30 pm and I ordered a fillet of sole francese which is my usual choice. It was a busy night at Positano and it took almost an hour to get our food but when it arrived all 4 of us saw none of the dishes looked the same as usual. It was not good, my friends were shy to complain but I sent mine back. The owner took the dish back but charged me for the side vegetables and side salad that came with the dish and I had eaten while waiting for my fish. I was surprised to find charges for the the salad and side but I paid and tipped the waiter but I feel that I was not dealt with fairly. Especially since we were all regulars. read more

We return to Positano for fine dining and elegant atmosphere. There is valet parking and spacious outdoor seating. The indoor seating is appropriately spaced as per Covid restrictions. They have a three course price fix menu that is filled with amazing selections. The seafood salad and the veal chop are our go to favorites on this menu.
