Very tasty food, and friendly staff, but I unfortunately have a couple complaints. My party consisted of two couples. The restaurant was about half full, but the service was quite slow. We were there an hour before our food came. Another couple came at least twenty minutes after us, but were served within fifteen minutes. We were still waiting. As I said the food was tasty. I had a descent size piece of salmon that was served over a "bed of asparagus". The bed consisted of three spears. This dish came with salad and green beans, which were fair. $24 for my dinner seemed a bit high. read more

Very nice place. My husband and I just dined there for the first time. We definitely want to go back very soon. I got my favorite dish which is Chicken Parmigana. When I eat this at other restaurants I normally take a portion home for lunch the next day. Nope not tonight, I ate the whole plate it was so delicious. With chicken parmigana the sauce is crucial. It's sometimes too sweet or too bland. This was just right- nice chunky marinara sauce. YUMMERS. Side salads were well put together as well. We placed an order for pickup and then waited 45 minutes in the lobby of the restaurant past the time that they said it would be available. We asked to speak to a manager and the manager purposefully avoided us and refused to take ownership of the situation. We will never order from here again. read more

The atmosphere was a delight but very disappointed with the food. Waitstaff was prompt but young and not very experienced or knowledgeable. We ordered the soup and it wasn't even warm it was room temperature. We ordered salad and got no choice just brought us a ceaser which my husband does not like. I ordered the chicken with crab with a lemon caper sauce and asked the waitress if I can substitute the sauce since I did not like lemon with capers. We agreed with a red wine reduction. When I got the meal it came with the caper sauce so I mentioned it to her and she said the chef told here that red wine turns that way. I'm not stupid it was lemon caper and you wouldn't put capers in red wine and it doesn't turn yellow. I was a flambee chef for almost ten years. The chef could of admitted he was wrong. It was terrible that I had to eat something I didn't like on my anniversary. Then we ordered a lemon torte for dessert thinking how can this go wrong and it was ice cream. I don't think your waitstaff knows a lot about food. For a hundred and twenty dollar night it was awful. read more

Best Italian Restaurant!!!! We found this restaurant in early spring of this year while taking a Sunday drive. We have been dining there every weekend since. The food is authentic Italian. The chef is amazing. A family owned business, very engaging father and son, they always make us feel welcome and special. In the nice weather you can either sit indoors or outdoors. Across the way is a large pond with ducks, so beautiful. About the food...every time we dine there, we are always amazed how delicious the entrees are. A few of our favorite are the salmon stuffed with crab meat with a drizzle of lobster cream sauce, the capellini pasta in crab meat vodka sauce with large shrimp, saute chicken with crab meat in a lobster cream sauce. One of my new favorites, who knew that Harleysville could be a dining mecca. It's a little off the beaten path, but love the location with the pond adjacent to the parking lot. Can't wait to go in the warmer weather and enjoy the outdoor dining. We've been seated on the 2nd floor both times, typical Italian decor, tables nicely spaced. Service starts with bread and seasoned olive oil. Entrees come with a salad, homemade dressing or the soup of the day. My partner opted for the soup both times and loved them, so much that he didn't even offer me a taste. For the first meal I had the branzino, a special of the day. It was so delicious, simply seasoned with lemon and accompanied by roasted potato wedges and tomato slices. Also it was huge, I took half home. My partner had the Braciali (stuffed steak) from the Sicilian specialty section. It was made with veal and the red gravy was wonderful. On our next visit I went for the bucatini mare e terra in red sauce with swordfish and eggplant another home run. Absolutely the most perfectly cooked pasta I ever had. I usually find swordfish dry, but this was perfect. My partner had the carbonara with chicken, again perfectly cooked pasta. He loved it. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse cake, a pie slice sized serving, Perfect ending to a perfect meal. On the downside, service is uneven, the first server was a little inexperienced and unsure. Service can be on the slow side, food is cooked to order, so that can be overlooked. Then there are the overly aggressive bussers, so anxious to clear plates, asking if I am finished while I am raising a bite of salad from a half full plate. There are some interesting options on the Sicilian menu like the rabbit, sardines and cuttlefish ink sauce. In addition to the pasta dishes, there are also steaks and a tour of Italy tasting. We have never had a bad meal. Chef Fred and his staff are very accommodating and always willing to go above and beyond for the best dining experience. We have had two 50th birthdays, one 90th birthday, a surprise engagement and family rehearsal dinner as well as a retirement party there. If you book a private party, they offer a private dinning room upstairs where you can easily fit 45 guests. We have done this time and time again with no complaints! Sadly, Not as good as last time! I was one of the first patrons and everything was great. This time around it was simply not as good. The wait staff was not as good and they had not gotten their delivery and many things in the menu were not available. Hopefully we just caught them on an off night, but our first experience with Villa Vito left us believing they really don't want to do take-out orders. My wife called to place our order the day before as it was appetizers and entrees for 6 people. She was told someone would call her back to get the order, that did not happen. No big deal, she called as soon as they opened, after some confusion on if the girl was allowed to do another take-out order she took our order and said it would be ready by 5pm. It was not ready until after 5:20pm, again not really a problem, but the whole time my wife was standing there waiting the hostess was answering the phone turning away take out orders. If you don't like doing take-out then don't offer it. Once we got home and started eating it seemed like our order was made by 2 completely different chefs. 1 order of Mozzarella in Carrozza was nice big pieces with plenty of sauce but the pieces in the second order were less than half the size with 1 drop of sauce on each and half of them were just empty breading. I wish i would have taken pictures, but not my first thought when I'm hungry. Lol. Some of our salads had freshly grated cheese and others didn't. We got the Scoglio with linguine, Fettucine Carbonara added shrimp, and Tortelloni Bosco; they were all bland. The pasta in each dish, and any seafood were all cooked perfectly but there was no flavor to any of it. No salt, pepper or any other herbs you expect from an authentic Italian meal, and the tortelloni says "jumbo" on the menu but we must have very different definitions of what jumbo means. The Lamb Chop Antonino is $32 appetizer not an entrée, there was not even 4oz of meat on the 3 chops combined, and the risotto was also bland. Now all that being said, the Vitello Parmigiana and Pappardelle Bolognese were excellent! So much flavor and perfectly cooked. They were so good that I would definitely give them a second try, but only for dinning in. I will not do take-out from them again. read more

Villa Vito is a local Italian eatery for me and also a favorite. They serve large portions of delicious food. I chose the Risotto Villa Vito and never tasted better lobster cream sauce in my life. There was a good amount of seafood too and topped with yummy lobster. It's a BYO which is always nice for drinking wine without paying 300% for it. We were a party of 5 and enjoyed the atmosphere al fresco by the local duck pond. The inside of the restaurant is also beautiful and comfortable but closed due to the pandemic and restrictions for capacity. Villa Vito has an authentic Italian menu with many surprising and delicious selections such as grilled octopus over arugula. I was surprised by this place! I used to work here when it was Parkside American Grille and that failed miserably so I was a little skeptical about trying it. I'm so glad I did!! The food is fantastic! I am very picky with my vodka sauce and theirs is AMAZING!! I haven't tried any of the other entrees because every time I go I just have to get the vodka dish! But my family has tried a bunch of their dishes and they love all of them. I will say, the service is either going to be really horrible or really great. I wish The one server we had was fantastic, I believe her name is Kelly!! She's always so great and loves talking with my little niece :) she always took the time to make sure she was happy and she even found things in the restaurant for her to color with! The other server we had was horrible. She wasn't friendly, pretty rude, and didn't really check up on us. But, like I said, it really depends when you go. This is a great little gem tucked off the main street of Harleysville. The food rivals anything we ever had while visiting Italy and the service has always been excellent. We have dined here as a couple (great for a romantic evening), a family (great for birthdays, etc.), and as part of a group of friends. My only caution would be that if you are in a large group (5 or more), you will be seated in their upstairs room which tends to be very loud. Our group could not hear each other talk and I'm not sure how the waitress could even hear our order. More attention should be given to the acoustics of the room. This is true of many restaurants I have dined in. Nothing quite as "relaxing" and "enjoyable" as having to shout to your companions. read more

I cannot say enough good things about villa Vito. To start off, the food is excellent. By far the best Italian restaurant around. The calamari is amazing and very very fresh. Their marinara sauce is one of the best sauces I've had. I haven't had anything bad at villa Vito and the service very good as well. The owner & his son are down to earth people as well. My family and I took my brother out for his birthday dinner last night at this restaurant.We were a small group of five people.We arrived at 6:00 with reservations.We ordered three appetizers (which were good but ALL cold).Our pasta entrees were seriously under sauced-when we asked for more sauce,we were told it was going to take a long time since the chef would have to "make more sauce"?! The one risotto dish we ordered was good but every single entree,without exception was barely warm.Wait times for the food were excessive.They ran out of some desserts,which can happen,I guess-but they ran out of espresso too! how does an Italian restaurant run out of espresso? We had our 30th anniversary dinner here with 36 guests. The atmosphere, personnel and food was out of this world. Fred the food you made for the appetizers and main courses was fantastic. Had a very good dinner at Villa Vito and expect that we'll be returning often. The bread was fresh, warm and delicious. The Caprese appetizer was super, with wonderful roasted peppers, but was skimpy on the mozzarella. The salad came with a house-made dressing that should be bottled. The Vitello 3 Tenori and Penne w/chicken and Vodka Sauce entrees were exceptionally fabulous, as were the vegetable sides. Great find! read more

What a hidden gem! My Father discovered the Villa by taking a walk & asked us to take him there for Sunday dinner so we did. Being accustomed to getting what he wishes he ordered gnocchi but was told it wasn't being served this night. To our surprise the Owner, Chef came out & said he'd be happy to make the gnocchi for our 85 yr. old Papa!!!! He even allowed me to custom create a great risotto stir fry dish - delicious ----- Now that is going above & beyond!!! The atmosphere was cozy, with excellent appointment and well designed. The Food ~~~ wonderful, absolutely wonderful & we're Italian and VERY particular about our sauces! All in our we had a great time, pampering attention and service, generous portions and an excellent menu. We will be telling all our friends - thank you for making some paisanos very happy! Adorable BYOB with great food and very friendly staff. We went for lunch with friends last weekend. Our friends had the risotto with seafood in a lobster cream sauce and my husband had the fusilli with creamy crab marinara. Rave reviews all around. I unfortunately have sworn off carbs for lent:( but enjoyed a very generously sized spinach salad with grilled chicken. Tiramisu for dessert was another hit. Well I have to say that I was really looking forward to going to this restaurant because of the reviews on Yelp, and I was excited for a good local Italian Restaurant. Well we went on Sunday March 6 and we got there exactly at 4:00 for the beginning of dinner. We thought it would be less crowded than the regular dinner hour. We stood and waited for several minutes for someone to even notice us, until a server came down from an upstairs party that was going on. He said that he would seat us but that the person who was serving us was still upstairs tending to the party and that she would be back and forth between the upstairs and downstairs dining area to take care of us. We thought that would be okay since we were at that point the only customers in the dining area. He seated us and said he would get us bread, which never happened. We had to ask someone else who was cleaning up some of the tables still left from lunch. When our server finally came downstairs she was very sweet and explained that the party upstairs was for the owners mothers birthday and that the server scheduled to take care of the downstairs had not yet shown up. She left to go find out what the specials were and it took quite a while for her to come back......again we are waiting. Finally, we ordered and my husband ordered a main dish Arugula salad. She came back a little later to inform him they were out of Arugula. How could you be out of Arugula when the dinner hour had just started? So he had to look at the menu and order something else. We ordered the Calamari which was delicious and I had the Pasta Carbonara which was also delicious. A couple that had come in quite a few minutes after us was served before us. We were waiting and waiting in between each course. We didn't see our original server until she came back at the end and again she apologized. We just wanted to leave by that point. She gave us our bill and we stood at the cash register and again waited for quite some time before we paid. In the meantime the owner had come out and asked how our meal was and my husband very politely expressed our disappointment in the service and that we were paying customers and should not have been so neglected because of the party upstairs. The owner shook my husbands hand, explained it was his mothers birthday party and hoped we would come back another time. Really????? That's all? We had our Sunday dinner completely spoiled because of the neglect and he offered no apologies or any kind of compensation in any way for how we were treated. While the food was delicious, we will not be going back because of the mistreatment. They should either have closed down the restaurant for the dinner hour to focus on the party or hired more servers to handle the downstairs dinner hour. You do not treat paying customers as if they are nonexistent in deference to a party. We were so terribly disappointed and felt like we just flushed our money down the toilet.
