TL;DR: Super cool ambiance/atmosphere, beautifully decorated locale, larger than it appears form the street, decent beer selection, great hangout place. Food was sub-par and the service left something to want. I have been wanting to come here since the time I heard they had opened. And from the moment we walked in from the street, I had a feeling this place was going to exceed my expectations...Well, it did not. Though that's not to say it wasn't a really nice place. The biergarten is much larger than you would expect from the street, with seating under roof and a 'garden' area to sit on picnic benches if you're just there for the beer. We got there before the dinner rush with most of the seats a the bar taken, several open tables under the roofed section of the place and one larger than normal party having their meal. We sat at one of the under-roof tables and began to take in the ambiance. We had so much time before a waitress actually showed up that we noticed the beautifully decorated locale and read their pithy menu several times over. Once a waitress did show up it was for a quick, 'What'll you have to drink?' and off she was for us to wait again. And wait we did. With the drinks in hand after a while we ordered our food and then, yes, you guessed it - we waited some more for our meals. My daughter had their tomato appetizer which was stylishly presented and tasted good. My son enjoyed their humongous pretzel, and I order a knackwurst - a spicy version of the bratwurst - which was not spicy at all. Overall, the food was really not special or even very good - I would consider it serviceable. This is another prototypical example of a bar wanting to be a restaurant as well, but not putting their heart in it. You either go all in and serve exceptional or at least special food, or just peel back and serve the run-of-the-mill fare of burgers and fries, and then don't charge an arm-and-a-leg doing so. We decided to share a dessert - their bavarian cheesecake, which I found to be okay, again, nothing noteworthy. I really, really wanted to love this place. Instead, I walked away a bit dismayed and slightly perplexed. The service was the biggest head-scratcher - we were there when it really wasn't busy and we waited like it was an Oktoberfest evening - strange. Any place can have an off night, and this place is still new, so of course I'll be back again - the ambiance alone will bring me back along with their decent beer selection. Hopefully the service will improve and hopefully with time they'll figure out if they really want to be a restaurant (and I mean really figure it out) or not. read more

Stopped by here for lunch. They have an open and covered space for all your eating, drinking, and oompa delights. I had a couple big weissbeir while sitting at the bar. They were delicious of course. The bar staff are very friendly and I enjoyed trading stories of Germany with them. Decided to take a seat at a table for lunch with my friend. I ordered a wurstplatte which came with a variety of sausages. All were delicious and paired well with the tasty mustard. Our server Erika was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Interesting resturaunt in Cocoa Village that we found in the 6-hour era of itinerancy between getting ejected from our hotel and the flight from Orlando. Good concept and interesting menu options. It isn't strictly German food, but it is German enough. Waiters wear lederhosen but dont know what 'danke' means. Cheesesteaks are on the menu...never knew a German Cheesesteak existed! Lots of schnitzels, bratworsts, and pretzel sandwiches. Kids ordered a monster pretzel appetizer, and my father in law ordered a enornous glass of beer....3 cans worth? My order- a cajun sausage and shrimp skewer- ordered for its high protein and low carb offering- was, unknowlingly served on a bed of french fries. So much for health...lots of fries wasted here. The umage of my mind..with 2 big, plump sausages with shrimp- was highly disappointing. Lets go with 6 shrimp with tiny slices of sausage in between, with little cajun-ness. And, apparently, the menu did mention the skewers were served with 'fritz'...which, apparently means 'french fries'. So I learned German the hard way today! My wife's German meatloaf was ok, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their foods. Most were fried and/or served in a mega roll. I guess I now realize how unhealthy the German diet is, and perhaps I will never go there. Or, perhaps, the German cuisine has been modified to unhealthy American standards of enjoyment. The service was good, and the atmosphere was pretty fun. If you like beer, Germanish comfort food, and a neat environment, this place is pretty cool. Well, I have to say that my experience at this restaurant was one in a lifetime. If I could have given them less than 1 Star I would have. So much so that we actually had our server quit halfway through dinner and they had to have someone else fill in. In all fairness to the other servers they did their best considering how disorganized this place is. Overall, I have to blame management and or the owners for all that transpired that evening. Ultimately, we showed up and their was some live music going on which was good. Took forever for someone to come and get our orders going which Is never good; however, the worst thing overall was having them come back after 40 minutes of waiting and tell us that everything we ordered was not available. We were a party of eight so the order covered a lot of what was on the menu. We actually just ended up telling them to tell us what was available rather than what was not as it took less time. What the &$@"! So we showed up on a Saturday night at about 7:00 PM. How can a restaurant be out of food on 80% of the menu items by 7:00 PM? I have to cough this up to the owners or management making some really bad decisions on how to run this place. Basically we ended up having to order appetizers and drinks and that was pretty much it. Now we did make the best of it as we ordered drinks and enjoyed the live music. The servers were also extremely apologetic which we appreciated but are you kidding me... Hands down this was the worst overall dining experience and I would advise anyone going to this establishment to do so at your own risk. This was really one for the record books guys. Looking back I really have to laugh about it, as at one point we thought we were being "Punked". LOL! So I will refrain from using my customary ending of "Enjoy and Bon Appetit" and on this review I will end it by just saying Good Luck and I really hope it works out should you try them out. read more

The last two times we have gone to the Bier Garden in Cocoa Village the service has been horrible. We like to sit at the bar, the bartender is non responsive. Even when you get up to go find someone to be waited on the service is awful. We enjoy the food, if you can't get anyone to wait on you after sitting for ten minutes then asking to be waited on it's not worth it. Really too bad since we would go once a week and spend on average $70.00. We miss Selena, she was a great attentive bartender. read more

Upon arrival, our party of six was immediately immersed in the vibrant atmosphere, with lively music and an energetic crowd. It was FUN! After placing our orders with our waitress, we received service of a round of drinks. However, as time passed, the lack of attention to our table became increasingly evident. Despite our inquiries regarding the long wait for our food, we received repetitive assurances of "5-10 minutes" or "it's coming soon" from the waitress who seemed to be avoiding our table except to pop briefly to offer unfulfilled promises of food delivery. Not once during this waiting period did she inquire if we wanted another round of drinks or to offer any form of apology or explanation for the delay. (correction... there was one time when she told us "there's nothing I can do about it") After waiting over an hour, our beer mugs were bone dry and frustration understandably set in. When we confronted the waitress she was not only unhelpful, she showed frustration towards us, her guests and told us the food would be out in another 5 minutes. After waiting these final 5 minutes, with no sign of food, we made a decision to leave. We were even more disappointed when we were presented with a bill that included charges for the meals we never received. Although a supervisor eventually adjusted the bill to reflect only our single round of consumed drinks, this process added unnecessary delay to an already frustrating evening. In the waitress' defense, she is a young person who has been hired into a role for which she is not mature enough to hold, or adequately prepared or trained. There is a bigger issue here with the management of the restaurant. The lack of competent, service-minded staff and absence of protocols for busy or understaffed periods are glaring. The failure to recognize when a situation calls for a manager to intervene shows their fundamental inability to provide service on busy evenings. The experience was hampered not just by the delay, but by the lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic customer service skills. I do understand the challenges of the restaurant industry, particularly on busy nights. However, the manner in which these challenges are handled is what defines a venue. I had the jaeger schnitzel and my wife had the zeguiner (gypsy) schnitzel. We were extremely disappointed when the schnitzels finally arrived. We've visited this restaurant previously on a very busy night. They did okay. On this visit from beginning to end the service was disorganized and inefficient. Actually accessing a server required getting up from the table and seeking one out. Then the request, napkins, beverage refills, the forgotten food item, may or may not be fulfilled. My family used to love weekends here but they've recently hired the worst entertainment ever that is so loud and painful to listen to we left before ordering and went as far away as possible to Ryan's Pizza and could STILL hear this obnoxious music from there. I guess they hire DJ's that bring hookers with them... I have lived in Munich this is not the Bavarian culture at all. They say they serve hofbräuhaus beer but have no clue what you are trying to order when you try to order it. I was corrected when it tried to order what they call a "hob" I guess that's what the call their hofbräuhaus beer... if you are looking for traditional biergarten this is not the place. read more

Good place for beer but the food needs work. We started with salad and potato pancakes. Salad was good the pancakes were served with sour cream and applesauce and were ok. The leg was tuff and we needed a steak knife to cut it. The snitznel was tuff but I could still cut it with a regular knife. The dumplings were very sticky. The side veggies were delicious and the cabbage was alright. There are just better restaurants for German food. read more

First, the beer garden atmosphere is really cool and spot on with those in Germany. This is a great place to hang out on a nice day and drink a couple of beers. Von Stephan has large selection of German beers and some American ones -- even a few local craft beers. The food, however, was lacking in areas. The meats, ham hock and Wienerschnitzel in our case, were overcooked and tough -- not good when you paying a decent amount for the food. The side dishes were, sauerkraut and mixed vegetables, were good; the Summer salad was great. The portion sizes are healthy. My recommendation: Go for a few beers on a nice day and some appetizers. They have the giant pretzels, but we did not try them. They looked like they were set up for entertainment (but there was none when we went) which would also be cool. read more

Despite the reviews we had high hopes for this places based on suggestions of a local friend. It's super cute with a huge lawn and lots of picnic tables. We approached the covered seating and were told to sit anywhere. Someone tossed a multi page paper menu that was staples together on the table and told us someone would be with us. We suddenly realized that not only were they reusing paper menus but not one server was wearing a mask. No thank you! Everyplace else we've been on our visit was taking precautions to keep staff and customers safe. With restaurants having occupancy limited and many only able to do takeout or delivery you'd think they'd be more conscientious. read more

This place has great potential. The design, the layout, the Actual Bier Garten they have are all awesome. However..... The food is terrible. And it's waaaaay overpriced. They only offer a select few items for appetizers and a sandwich or 2, and 2 specials of the day, which one was out of stock. The buffet food can only be described as cheap wedding catering food. We went with 4 total guests, and 4 buffets and 4 litres of beer, was over $200.00!!!! Never again!! The buffet food is cheap pre made Sysco food...dry, bland and fake German food. The potato salad has pineapples in it. Liters of beer are $12.00 and up. I had high hopes for this place, but unless the food is greatly improved, we will not return. The dinner buffet is $25.99/person, liters of beer at $12.00 as you can see, it adds up quick. Also half of what they say is on the buffet, does not exist. When I think of over $200.00 for a party of four, i certainly never think of cheap buffet food. What a let down this place was....it has all the potential in the world. read more

Just spent 46 dollars on lunch. Never going back. Bloody Mary's were 7 dollars a piece. Nothing special about them. Well vodka and zing zang. Wayyy over priced. Got the potato pancake appetizer. They were good but you only get two for 6 dollars. Not worth it. Got two bratwurst bread was unbearable. Dry and fell apart. Came with chip crumbs and the only reason we got fries on one brat was cause they were so slow she would only charge me a dollar. Don't waste your time. Service was good though. While waiting for concert we stopped in here. Tucked away and didn't even know it was here. Almost missed it and glad we didn't. I have been to Germany . The little place is great and feels like a German pub. The food was Authentic and phenomenal. However I wish they had added a little more gravy and mushrooms on my food. Salad was filling could use some croutons or bread on the side . Prices where not bad .Looks like they have live music a few nights a week. I had high hopes coming here but the reviews spoke for themself...We came on a Friday night. Were greeted by a lovely waitress named Christina. Drinks came out quickly as did our appetizers, the giant pretzel and Capri salad. Both were very good. For dinner, I ordered potato pancakes. They fell apart, tasted floury (there shouldn't be flour in them), just tasteless. My husband had the schnitzel. It was alright but the Spätzel that came with it, weren't. They were really dry. To make matters worse, there was an obnoxious musicians playing in the courtyard. The music was so loud that you could not have a conversation. It was quite warm that evening and since seating is sort of outside, there weren't enough fans to cool you off. I wish I could've given a better review. Did love our waitress tho! read more

Could be a great and original place, but there is nothing that will have me go back. Not the servers fault, definitely under staffed and thus a managing fault. The poor girls are running everywhere and even tho, it takes a while to get something. We were just 2, it took 35min to have a server stop by, asking for drinks. We got the drink 20min later so almost 1h after sitting down. We got a chance to place an order for the food and order everything at once to save some time. We did wait another 35min for the food... total experience including paying the check, about 2h45!!! Food: many German options but definitely all premade. Nothing fresh, just reheated and does not taste great at all. Generic flavor and chewy textures. Definitely more bar oriented than cuisine oriented... Beers: quite some choices (apparently?) but only got a chance to try out 1 due to the extended time to get a single drink. They have some live music at night and also a small souvenir shop.
