Ever in search of a great burger and beer place I went here. Basic beer options on tap nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the Guacamole burger. I took it outside on the far part of the patio. When I reached across the table to grab a napkin a bunch of birds swooped down and began stealing my fries!!! If you go here either eat inside or in the center of the patio! Good food. Friendly service. Fair price. Kid friendly. Perfect for that after game meal with the kids. Grab a burger, a killer hot dog, and some adult beverages just keep the kids by your side. It felt like a preschool with parents letting their children run amuck inside, on the patio, and even in the parking lot. While I'm appreciative there are places for kids what I don't like is management allowing the degree. I understand it can be tricky to talk with parents but there're are risks to allowing this behavior. And yes there have been incidents including balls hitting cars and patrons. The playground (there is no actual playground) aside the food is good. I loved my burger and the frozen margaritas flowed well. The staff was super friendly and walked me through choosing the onion rings over the fries based on our conversation. They're awesome (staff and rings) While they are a 4 or even a 4.5 for food and service, even the fresh air patio, the free range kids are not for me. Ok, village burger bar has been saved in my phone for more than 10 years. I'm a HUGE fan of the paninis, the burgers, the shoestring and sweet potato fries, the best chocolate milkshake on the planet, and most recently the build-your-own chicken sandwiches (if you haven't tried their chicken sandwiches, you MUST...idk how they do it but 12/10 recommend), and the chicken tenders! I no longer live in Dallas, but VBB is always a must, every time I visit. Also, the spiked cherry limeades are perfection. Even their ICE is good. While normally my review would be glowing glowing glowing, I just got home with a takeout order placed online. I actually called in as soon as I placed the order to make a few requests because there is NO place to add any specifications or even ask for anything "on the side" ---- on any of the many online ordering platforms --- which is a real shame because their SAUCES. One request was for a few sides of artichoke aioli. It might be my favorite sauce ever... it's spicy and delicious and now the secret's out. Anyway, the woman who answered the phone didn't even ask my name for the order, so I voluntarily gave it to her since I figured it would be necessary(?), and asked if it would also be possible to get light seasoning on one sandwich. She did not answer if it was possible, but she assured me yes to all the things and she would let the kitchen know. I believed her. I arrived and explained I was picking up, and believed we'd spoken on the phone about sides of aioli. She said yes we had, and she'd check on the order. So I waited. And waited. And waited. It's Memorial Day, and tonight happened to be one of the slowest nights I've ever seen at this location, which is usually packed. Only two or three groups were seated inside, a few outside, and the counter was dead. I kept to myself while waiting and eventually someone handed me the order. The bag was sealed, knotted and secured with a sticker placed on so tightly, I legit had to cut it open when home because there was no other way. I didn't want to be annoying and ask about aioli AGAIN bc that's embarrassing and I'd just mentioned it in our last verbal exchange and I didn't wanna be that greedy aioli girl. So we got home. The first thing I noticed...nothing was lightly seasoned. So that was disappointing. The MAIN point, though, is that while we were given enough ketchup to feed a ketchup-centric army, there are no sides of artichoke aioli to be found. Not. One. And I...am absolutely devastated. VBB, please don't tease people and pretend you'll fulfill their artichoke aioli dreams. I want to be angry. I am angry. But mostly, I'm just let down. Shocked. Disappointed. And heartbroken. And regretting not being that annoying aioli girl. And regretting not getting a beverage bc CLEARLY one would be beneficial right about now. Anyway please don't hate me, I love you. I really want to like this place but have to give it 2 stars for the inconsistency of the food. I have been to this location 5 times and have had 5 different results. I have had a perfect medium rare hamburger with a bright pink center and it was awesome. Another time medium rare was barely pink in the middle and brown most the way through. I went the other day and decided to try their fried chicken sandwich. Being it is called Village Burger Bar, I probably shouldn't have ordered that. The chicken was non existent (see picture). It was basically a flat piece of fried something with hardly any chicken. If you remember the "where's the beef" commercials well this is "where's the chicken!!!" It was terrible. I'd rather have a fried chicken sandwich from any fast food restaurant. Next are the shakes. They have not been that cold and not thick at all. Basically it was like having a room temperature cup of milk. I think I'll stick to one of the 50 other burger joints in town until I know this place has changed. read more

I am happy overall and with the quality of this establishment and staff! Great people and burger quality! This will mostly just be about the new item, the avocado toast thing. The staff are friendly and on the ball with detail (almost with the exception of the avocado toast item.) they did great with my cheeseburger, I got it dry with the patty cooked rare/blue rare, onion rings, friends. And a couple of other drinks like a margarita and a paloma. The only contention I did have silently, was the new avocado toast dish. It's not bad per se, there's just too much ricotta cheese (to me at least) to blend in properly with the toast, avocado and the cherry tomatoes. I think a lighter streak could MAYBE help with the blend of taste and texture. Which unfortunately I do have to input, that I did ask for a light spread of the ricotta cheese instead of the normal spread. It didn't feel like it was a light spread so makes me beg the question of how THICK is that ricotta on the dish or if my request was ignored for my order. Like I said, it's not bad nor was I angered but it did get me thinking. I'd say look into it and I think you would have a fantastic dish to share with the world. Less thick and make it a smooth experience. I will return when I am in the mood for a rare cooked burger. Fucking fantastic. One of the only few places to make it happen! read more

I came to this location on a Saturday afternoon and they were quite busy. But there was plenty of outdoor patio seating. I think one of the main things I was disappointed and was that I did not see the tables being sprayed down in between visit. In fact for the most part customers were busting their own tables as did I. Luckily I carry my own disinfectant around with me and so I was able to disinfect my table myself before sitting down. This was really disappointing. The restaurant smells amazing and the staff was friendly and helpful. But this was the smallest salad I've ever paid $10 for. It's supposed to have spiced pecans in it, and I counted 5 of them. I will say though that the greens were super fresh,, so that was good.. We also got an order of onion rings. 3. Tucked away in a corner of a busy shopping strip, this spot has a great vibe. It's located off Inwood Rd. And has a Starbucks sitting in front of it therefore parking can be tricky during busy hours. A few friends and I came to Village Burger for their happy hour after leaving another restaurant. I really liked the laid back atmosphere as we came in. You walk right up to the counter and order. Their menu is above the bar and has a nice mix of starters, sandwiches, burgers, sides, and a build your own burger menu. They also have an extensive bar and happy hour menu. They have daily happy hour specials, but those specials are also available everyday. I decided to get their $3.50 margarita and southwest Turkey burger with sauteed onions added. My total was only $11! Such a sweet deal. My burger was pretty good and the avocado aioli sauce gave such a great kick with the onions. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach as I only got about half way through the burger and I ended up boxing it up. It made a great breakfast the next day! The staff was friendly and very patient as at first I could not decide what drink I wanted. Also, they recommended a couple of other spots to check out in the area. The server was not friendly and seemed to not enjoy his job. It wasn't that busy, so I don't think he was just too busy to not be friendly. I don't know if ownership has changed but it is not as good as it was before. With the cost of everything going up, you really want value and consistency for your money. I will say we live closer to the Plano location however we feel the service food and most definitely the martinis are perfect at this location. We've tried everything from chicken strips, chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers and salads (which are all great) but NOTHING compares to the Cheddar burger or the Dougie!!! Can we take a moment to appreciate the Mango, Strawberry and Watermelon martinis???? Mix all that with family and friends and I truly couldn't ask for a better lunch, brunch or dinner!!! Great spot to grab a quick lunch + drink. Parking was easy and we beat the lunch crowd, so there was literally only one person in front of us. Ordered the cobb salad (avocado, eggs, chicken, bacon, cucumber & tomatoes + house vinaigrette) w/ the vanilla jack and coke frosty. The salad had more white crunchy pieces of the lettuce than it did green leafy pieces. Vinaigrette was just enough to make the salad not dry. In the future I think I'd request additional chicken + salad dressing, and if an option spinach to add additional greens. The jack and coke though? I loveeeeed it! You could taste the liquor but the flavor was yummy enough to still want to down it. That alone would get me to return back to this restaurant. I finally got around to going here direct. I got the Dougie Burger $7.95 cooked medium and a side of Shoestring Fries $2.50. The burger is pretty good, very juicy patty. Don't really taste much from their Village sauce and the cheese is physically there but not very flavorful. The fries were alright I guess, not crispy enough for my liking and not very substantial since they are shoestring style. I would go back for the burger but that's about it. read more

I love the VBB in west village. The one on Inwood is awful. I don't know where to start. Since Covid, I have made a lot of take out orders from the Inwood location. Today, I had a shake delivered with the hole in the cover open where anyone can do anything to it. The fries are hard and old. Previously, when I order the baby blue salad with a burger, they seem to be using hard reject burgers. Sometimes, I get a side salad portion. I used to order take out from the Woodall Rogers location when I was working downtown. I never had these issues. After spending over $200 a month on take out from this place I am finally done with it. read more
