So was not a complicated order, in which we had to repeat or order 3 times over the phone, that and the fact that this is the 2nd time I was "waited" on by this particular counter person which previously lied to me about making sure or sides were in the bag, anyway needless to say it was like I was interrupting his phone time when I walked in, so I did not feel he deserved a tip.! Well find out the next day he thought otherwise, and decided to give himself a $6 tip.!! I LOVE this place. The food is so good. Walking in you may think that it's just another Coney Island, but you would be very very wrong. All of their soups are made fresh in house, and you can definitely taste the difference. The chicken greek salad is good, but the dressing makes it amazing. Let me start by saying I have given this place multiple chances, and every time they always disappoint. I have tried both take-out and dining in. When you dine in, better bring your own bottle of ketchup, since the Village Grill seems to think that small, paper cups filled with it are what the people prefer. The fries are absolutely horrible and taste as though somebody forgot about them in the vat of grease that they were left in. The burgers I have given multiple chances, each time more disappointing than the last. The burgers are extremely dry, and have a strange taste to them. The food is very over priced for the quality that you receive, and with a Leo's right down the street that offers better and cheaper food, why not go there? Also, it seems like The Village Grill copies Leo's Greek theme down to the saganaki. With both restaurants having the same theme, and Leo's being maybe a block away, there is absolutely no reason to go to the Grill, since Leo's has better quality food and is less expensive. read more

My FAVORITE restaurant in the area!! I always get rice with a chicken breast and veggies and i CRAVE that at least like multiple times a month. My parents always get the Greek salad with chicken and it's definitely something we get super often for dinner. Prices are great and the food is worth it. I'm a huge fan of coney islands and equally - cocktails. So when the Village Grill combined the two, my mind was blown. What I love most about the Village Grill is that they offer the same great coney island options, plus MUCH more. Their menu has everything from delicious oatmeal topped with fresh fruit, baked french toast, fresh salads, huge burgers, unique greek entrees and did I mention the great cocktail menu? The Village Grill is located in the strip mall on the corner of Wise Rd. and North Commerce Rd. It may look like your everyday coney island - but I promise that you will be pleasantly surprised. In my opinion, the Village Grill is a "step up" from your average coney island - but the good news is, their prices aren't! The cost to dine here is very similar to any other family dining restaurant with appetizers ranging from $4-8 and entrees from ranging from $7-$20. They have great lunch and dinner specials too! The vibe here is...unexpected. From the outside you would not expect to enter such a modern and stylish restaurant. Plus, everyone is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. Unfortunately the quality of the food has gone downhill over the past year. We probably get a chopped Greek salad 3-5 times a month take home. Been doing it for years. No more. Last year or so it went from the best to almost worse than most. Tonight's "chopped" never saw a chopper. Chicken was bland when it used to "pop" with flavor. Thats just one example. All of the other offering we always get when we eat in have experienced the same movement to bland. Its a shame because we want to support local non-chain family owned businesses. And we know the decline isn't due to low customer turnout because the place used to be slammed when the taste quality began going down. Too bad. read more

This place is amazing I started going there about 2 months ago, its right by my house I go there about 2 times a week or when I want a quick bite before anything. The place is very clean and you can tell they make there food fresh! Great prices, fantastic food and deserts. I don't drink but I think its nice to have a bit of a switch up. The menu is straight forward. They have great appetizers starting around $5 and going to about $7. There is breakfast, sandwiches, Cony's, salads, Fish,Steak, burgers, homemade soups and of course Greek food nothing I have seen so far is over $20 its under so great value. So its a great place if you have picking eaters with you there is something for everyone. THE FOOD IS ALL FRESH TOO!!! A bit of a warning the place is always packed at peak hours breakfast/lunch and weekend dinners even weekdays are pretty busy food might take a bit longer but you will not be disappointed! :D This is so much better than any Cony Island I been too. I frequent Village Grill. It was my favorite local restaurants. I will tell everyone I know how terrible it has become. Ordered lasagna and chicken $23. Picked up my order, I got two orders of FISH. I nicely called up there where "Roy" proceeded to tell me I took the wrong order and hung up on me ! I called back and he wanted to argue. I wasn't looking to argue I wanted to eat. I asked for a manager where "Roy" proceeded to yell "who wants to be the manager" Alexa got on the phone and said my food was still sitting there (cold) so I went and picked it up. Good ole Roy tried charging me again ! He's a very awful and argumentative person. I have NEVER been to a restaurant where they give you the WRONG food, hang up on you than, try charging you again ! When I asked the waitress where the owner was she said in the back hiding he didn't want to deal with another wrong order. I've lost all hope in this place. read more

Great no frills family dining. I ordered a spinach and feta omelette. It was full of flavor and fresh ingredients including lots of spinach and just the right amount of feta. The hash browns were fairly bland and not crispy, but at least they were not greasy. Service was fast and friendly. The omelette is in my top 5 and I order the same omelette at many restaurants. The place is a local favorite and I am struggling with why. I have tried the Grill a couple times and keep striking out. The last visit was for crepes. They were undercooked, slimy and flavorless and then covered in syrup and berries. To be fair, the berries were good and not underripe or overripe. I come here all the time when I visit my parents. The food is basic American but it's great food with very nice wait staff. The best thing to get is their salads and soup of the days. I love, Love, LOVE getting the greek salads from here. When I worked at the hospital around the way I used to get them ALL the time. I've moved away & am back for the holidays & am delighted to find they are still all the yumminess I remember. They don't skimp on the feta & they have the BEST greek dressing & they give you warm pitas too. Dip the pita in the dressing, you won't be disappointed. The small size is enough for a meal. I've had breakfast food from here that is also good, akin to a coney island. I'm not so much a fan of their spinach pie, too much lemon flavor for me. But, go here for breakfast or the greek salad. I've been to the Village Grill and all I can say is the food and service is excellent. The food has been consistently the same and delicious. Told the waitress how good the food and she grabbed the chef/owner Angelo, he couldn't be any nicer or professional. His wife Jeannie, works there as well. She gave us the background of how the business was established. It is a real family owned place. Jeannie told me her grandmother even sends Olive Oil to the restaurant. I am not a big lover of Greek food but this place does it right. My husband and I both got gyros supremes- him regular, myself chicken. Basically they just add feta but it was totally worth it, they were amazing and huge. Spinach pie is my husbands favorite and it's hard to find a good one, however here you get a giant piece for $5, it was really good. My only small complain was that the chili on the chili cheese fries was too spicy, and they used shredded cheese instead of liquid- which is much better for you, I personally was just in the mood for the traditional coney ccf. We tried the bagel shop next door one morning (also good) and noticed how busy the village grill was, so apparently they do a good breakfast too, but even before 9am it was packed. read more

Updating my review... I used to be highly against this place due to a terrible manager/owner. They didn't keep the restaurant clean and several times had bugs in my food. With a very unapologetic response. However, I was told they are under different management and it's much better. Having a friend that worked there as a waitress, she assured me it was nothing like that now. I went this week and it was pretty good. However, I do have one complaint... Their plates slope down and food falls off- especially their salad. Frustrating!! Other than that, I'll be back. read more

I always came here for breakfast because they have good quality food and great service. You pay a little more here than you would at Leo's and that's because its worth it. I have had lunch and dinner here before and it was also very good but, for some reason this place has been designated the "breakfast spot" and you just can't eat at the same place 3 times a day or maybe I just eat out too much. read more

I love the Village Grill's food, but on my visit this past weekend I got a little grossed out. Upon a visit to the men's room, as I was washing and drying my hands, I heard a flush come from the bathroom stall and out comes this Mexican looking fellow. It was hard not to notice him since he was wearing a really bright yellow shirt. He took a quick glance at me and walked right out the door without washing his hand! While that's absolutely disgusting on it's own merits, I exited right after him and watched him walk STRAIGHT BACK TO THE KITCHEN! YUCK!!! I had to keep hoping to myself in my head that he's only the dishwasher just to get my meal down, but I gotta say the thought stuck with me and made my whole meal experience very unsatisfying. I still have to give the Village Grill 3 stars because their food is awesome and it's generally a well run and very clean establishment. I'm hoping that this was an isolated incident done by a careless employee. I probably should have reported it to management at the time it occurred, but I was really doing everything I could to try not to think about it and I didn't want to bring it up in front of my wife so that she could still enjoy her meal and remain oblivious to what I had just witnessed. For what it's worth, I would normally give the Village Grill a 5 star rating, as I have yet to have a meal I didn't like there. It's really a bummer that I saw what I did, because before that it was the perfect restaurant in my opinion. read more
