I took my girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday. (Her restaurant choice, of course). We were seated immediately, which I wasn't expecting, as this restaurant is in a busy location of the Sawgrass Mall, and it was the weekend. The restaurant was loud and busy, as most of the tables were taken. But the service was pretty good. We were served free bruschetta with a few varieties of bread. The bruschetta wasn't anything to rave about, but it was free - so what's better than that? I debated between the fettuccini Alfredo and the spaghetti bolognese. I asked our server and he suggested the spaghetti bolognese, so that's what I ordered. The portion of pasta along with the meat sauce was more than enough to share. But the flavor of the dish was pretty average. If I'm back at the Sawgrass Mall and wanting pasta, I wouldn't go back to Village. I'd dine at The Cheesecake Factory or Grand Lux Cafe, as I know their pastas are delicious. read more

This restaurant has very good Italian food. The Veal Piccata that I ordered was delicious. It was tender and not chewy at all. It was lightly seasoned and dusted with flour then sauteed. The side of broccoli was steamed just perfect. The complimentary bread and balsamic seasoned tomato salsa was a great start. On this Sunday evening that we dined, they offered a complete meal for $25.00 It is a great deal if you want to start with a salad and end with an awesome dessert. Easy to park in the free garage and a very short walk to the entrance. There is also a piano player in the evening. Only negative it that this could be a great place to go for a romantic dinner if there were not so many children running around, screaming and playing to blow off some energy from their day being dragged around by their tourist parents who let them misbehave inside. read more

We had been to the Coral Gables location and loved it. This one was just as good. They offer a lot of distanced outdoor seating (covered parking very close by). My mom loves to come eat here when she comes to town because they give great fresh bread and bruschetta as a starter (complimentary) I love their del Selvaggio Pasta. What the heck happened to this place. How can it go from the most reliable food and staff to the worst dining experience??? And when we had good friends with us??? I mean now we look like we don't know good food. We've been lunching here for 15 years and looooved every bite and every chat with the friendly international staff. OMG the only good thing about the food was the free bread bruschetta with tomatoes. Everything else was truly terrible. The service was really good, however the food was extremely underwhelming and subpar. My husband ordered a cheeseburger (he said it was "meh" but honestly that's on him for ordering American food at an allegedly Italian restaurant LOL). I ordered their special of the day which supposedly included four big shrimps stuffed with crab meat and topped with cheese, and the linguine was in a cream sauce with extra small shrimps and chopped asparagus. Honestly I don't know why I took the server's suggestion instead of trying a classic dish such as the linguine vongole or the marinara penne pasta or even any other plate that called for marinara sauce instead. This plate was a hot mess. The stuffed shrimp I couldn't even find the supposed crab meat inside them. The flavor of those shrimp with the cheese was not a flavor I was expecting it wasn't even Italian. The asparagus was over cooked almost burnt. I don't even understand why the plate had so much going on. It's called Linguine Solis and was supposed to be the special of the day. Nothing special about it and ironically should have been what they would focus more on ensuring would be better taste and quality. The plate tasted like a plate I would have gotten from Cheesecake Factory including the sauce, and to top things off, I found TONS of raw pieces of garlic and even one WHOLE garlic clove in the plate. How could I eat such huge chunks of garlic?? You're not supposed to!!! I was afraid of being honest with the server when he asked how the food was because he was really nice to us but as I'm leaving the restaurant and going home I'm honestly regretting not being honest just because of all of these reviews. Management should pay attention because I'm honestly upset I just paid $38 for a hefty/huge plate of pasta that disappointed me in flavor and did not taste good. I am a pasta addict and have had pasta from many different places and 98% of the time I enjoy it wherever I eat it from. For a mall restaurant I was pleasantly surprised. Octopus is VERY difficult to cook properly and the grilled octopus appetizer was really the best thing we ate. It rivals any top-rated seafood restaurant in South Beach (better than Milos). Tender and delicious - does come with an arugula salad (not mentioned on menu). We also enjoyed the kale salad with grilled chicken. I would omit the chickpeas - they were soggy so I just pushed to the side. I am assuming they wanted the crunch but didn't work out as planned. Other than that, everything was fresh and tasty and I loved my cucumber martini (although I would have preferred a tad less sweet). Apt of options on the menu . Everyone was satisfied with their plate however one of the plates the presentation of it wasn't there but the taste was, maybe add a garnish piece to it. I came here the other day with my aunt and we ordered the tilapia and seafood pasta. My tilapia came with broccoli and potatoes on the side. They were cold but the fish was hot and unappetizing. The food was very good but we will never be back. They are the most unorganized restaurant I have ever been to. I have been here twice trying to give them a second opportunity , my mistake. The reception desk is rude , the waiters are short and impatient. Trying to get a refill on a glass of water took 20 minutes. While we waited I ran to the dirtiest restrooms I have seen in a restaurant! I felt like I was in a gas station bathroom on their worst day. I do not recommend this locations. One of the worst customer service I've had in this Restaurant was tonight. I absolutely love Italian food and this place used to be on my top favorite when they were open at Dadeland, but tonight, food was delicious as always but the customer service, awful. Waited at the entrance for a good 5min to get the host attention, she was at the bar talking to another employee (restauranthad only 5 tables occupied) , manager went to greet us and called the host over, due to this she was clearly upset. She sat us next to another occupied table, again restaurant had only 5 tables occupied. Server wasn't polite at all and brought the wrong drinks. Then we had to keep reminding him to bring an extra small plate for our bread. What was most uncomfortable was that we saw twice our server spitting in an area visible to customers. He looks like an experience server but unfortunately, apparently today want his day. Hopefully when we go back, the experience would be a better one. read more

Multiple waiters serve your food quickly and hot. The bread and bruschetta with tomatoes and basil is always to die for. The experience was extremely impressive, with an amazing atmosphere and great service from Sergio and Jose Luis, coursing out our meals perfectly and providing a great experience. The food was simply extraordinary, the fettuccine Alfredo was delicious with perfectly shaped pasta which complemented the dish perfectly whilst the sauce was liquid and easy to consume with no clumps. The octopus was of similar gleaming quality and with the bread served to fondle our appetite extremely well. Please understand this review is only for our server. The food is still amazing but unfortunately service was not this time. Came in close to 10pm, place was busy. We were basically rushed to our table still being cleaned. Our server was loud and in a hurry, bossing around the other girl, serving with her, without caring that we all could hear her. Very uncomfortable. When ordering, my friend asked if she could add chicken to her pasta. Her facial expression was puzzled and annoyed. Told her to forget it, and bring the plate as it usually comes out. To this she replied I'll ask... This should have been her first response/ reaction. When served we notice they did add the chicken. Server comes and asks "How is your creation? Aren't you glad you didn't settle?". Very annoying. When done we asked for the dessert menu. Asked how big of a portion one of them was, she wasn't very helpful there. Just asked if we were sharing, I said no. I was planning on ordering a different dessert but she just took the menu and left with just one dessert order. Brought it to our table with two spoons. Asked for the check, that took a while too, mainly because she kept talking to the guy seated next to us, and joking around with others on the staff. She even forgot to give me my leftovers. I know by this time is almost closing time but the restaurant was still half full and we are all still paying for the service you didn't give us. Though the place looks impressive it's not and though the wait staff dresses are professionals they're not. It's an OK place for Italian when shopping Sawgrass Mills but nothing more. I started with the crab soup which was basically a thin creamy tomato with a taste of crab but I'll be darned if I could find any. I then went for their veal scaloppini which they refer to as veal scaloppini "lemon" though I generally know it and most frequently see it on most menus simply as veal francaise. The portion was large, certainly tasty enough but not oddly enough not served with any lemon, a somewhat soggy breading and lacking in any fresh or zesty lemon flavor. Though the wait staff is professionally dressed, they all struck me as anything but, being somewhat awkward, bumbling and seemingly without any direction as to exactly what they were doing. I felt terribly disrespected, came for a business meeting, ordered a glass of wine and an expresso, with the option of getting some food and more wine after my meeting. The server JHON T, who claims to be the manager in charge, wasnt happy about my first order, i noticed (ive been working on hospitality for many years). Right in the middle of my meeting he interrupted to drop the check, without asking if i wanted anything else ( and being the restaurant 90% empty!!) Nice place for lunch at a high end mall . I had the three course special for 38$ Pasta and fagoli soup was very good. Served with fresh grated cheese and pepper. Chicken parm was also good. Potatoes were well prepared but a bit mealy( I am from Europe and potatoes there are much nicer not the restaurants fault. Panna cotta dessert was very gelatinous, sweet and devoid of that rich home made flavour. My wife had a amalfi salad. Greens were very cold and not crispy fresh. Ot felt like they were chopped way in advance and stored in a very cold fridge. Seafood was plentiful but lacked a crunchy fresh texture like they were cooked or marinated way in advance. Focaccia and bread with bruschetta at the start was nice. Good service by Gary our waiter although it took a smidge too long to clear plates. Overall a nice time. read more

Villagio Restaurant @ Sawgrass Mills - I made a reservation a couple weeks before for a Saturday night, with a table at the windows, for a birthday. I called a few days before to change to a Thursday, 10/20 and they also confirmed the window table & birthday. On the way to the restaurant last night, I called as we were running 5 minutes behind. When we got to the restaurant, they tried to seat us in the middle of the restaurant. Then, they suggested a dark table for two in the rear corner between a wall and a divider. We were a party of three. Finally, they seated us in this nearly empty restaurant near the window. The calamari appetizer was uncooked and the breading was mushy. Take a look at the photo... Does that look like a $23.00 appetizer to you? And half was zucchini. It tasted like it came from a box and went into a microwave for a whole minute. All meals were warm, at best. The veal scallopini was dry. The spaghetti in the marinara with mussels, shrimp & calamari was not cooked fully. We expressed this to the waitress, and never did a manager show his face. We waited for the birthday cake, but nobody told the waitress, so we had to order it after a wait. The apple pastry with ice cream on top was burned on the bottom. The waitress felt badly and brought us two glassed of champagne. We do not drink. A comedy of errors... On my wife's birthday. Very unhappy with the restaurant, service & food, beginning to end. We still left the waitress 20% because none of this was her fault. She tried and felt badly about our experience. I would LOVE to hear from management! read more
