I have no idea what these amazing reviews are about. The last time I had them come, they didn't come in the window, I called them and they told me their technician was running late and I had to reschedule after I CALLED THEM! This time, when my HVAC isn't even two years old... the one they installed, the heat doesn't work, so I had scheduled an appt for Wednesday. Called them on a Monday. They sent me what I assumed was a long reminder text. I was in the middle of work, so I just glanced at the text and put it down. So here I am waiting for the window that I scheduled just two days ago and no one is coming. I call them to double check they're coming. They tell me b/c I didn't confirm the appointment the DAY AFTER I MADE IT that I'm not on the schedule. Keep in mind it's 40 degrees out and my heat hasn't been working for 4 days. It's a hit and miss which technician you get. New house HVAC under warranty. First tech they sent had no clue and said HVAc is ok and disconnected the zoned module. Villara cut corners when the house was built. Did not install a motor to zone the house. I was spending $350 dollars, after Juan fixed the hvac the sum dropped to $150 per month for heating every month . I asked them to come back again and send a different tech. Juan was awesome, I forgot his last name, he redid the hvac installed motor and sealed and rerouted the pipes at no cost even though the warranty was expiring in 4 days. Not happy - I am a paying member of their comfort club and have been for a few years. I finally had a plumbing issue - I called after hours 9pm on a Sunday night as this was an emergency --- to be connected to Ai. Not cool..... the soonest Ai could set an appointment was 8 days out--- really?!?!?!? Then the Ai said someone woudl reach out within the hour -- that never happened until the next day in which then they said they had no appointments until the following day ---- I found another company that evenign while i was on with Ai who set me up with an appt for 8am the next morning....needless to say I no longer need the comfort club and neither do YOU!! read more

Zaki did a great job diagnosing the problem with our Smart Vent. We had been getting an error in the summer head and he did an excellent job explaining our options clearly and calmly. They were prompt on sending someone to take a look after requesting service, though according to the landlord, there have been some repeated problems with the damper error over the years. I would give a million stars if I could. Today, it's 103 outside. I'm a 50 year old, overweight and menopausal woman who is completely and constantly overheated. The past 5 or 6 years our AC unit was keeping our house only maybe 15-18 degrees cooler than it was outside. Summer has been miserable for me and I spend most of it in my bedroom (coolest room) blinds closed with my little hand held fan and has been the worst. I have known Villara for a long time but had never worked with them as a customer. The service was amazing. They were following up faster than I could reply. Our financing was easy, online and simple. The install was also fairly simple for us, the team did run into more work than anticipated due to our access points in the house but handled it smoothly and there were no delays. It is 68 in my house right now. I'm wearing a cardigan in August, I'm a little chilly even and have some throw blankets to be cozy. I might even light a candle just for fun. We have a newly installed AC unit on a new build less than a year old that has a very loud start. We called to inquire about the free manufacturer dampening blanket being offered. They required a technician come on-site first. That was July 8th. July 21st, we still had not heard anything. I called and was informed that a dampening blanket had been ordered, recieved and that I had a technician appointment today between 1pm - 4pm. An appointment that I had no idea about was scheduled. After lots or scrambling and juggling my schedule causing me to lose money with work, I get a text at 3:03pm that my tech, his name and all was in route. He was late last time (and no one called. I had to call in to find that out) so I called for his ETA. The customer service person advised me that I do not have an appointment on the books, and that the dampening blanket was merely ordered today. I asked why I was told I had an appointment this AM and she said she did not know because there was nothing on the schedule. I'm frustrated and ask to speak to a manager. Charles gets on the phone and proceeds to blame it on the company that provides the ticketing software they use. He says it was brought to his attention that this order was outstanding so he approved the part to be orderd. He states in order to place an order, a technician has to enter a ticket. That ticket creates a service call (even though there really isn't a service call) and generates a "Your tech is in route" text to the customer when he enters it. I have worked with multiple service ticket systems. If you open a ticket, even to place an order, the ticket is created instantly. So, my question is, if my call to customer service triggered the awareness to let someone know that the part was not orderd this AM, why did customer service see an on-site technician call when I was on the phone with her? If it works the way they state, the tech didn't place the order until around 3pm when I got the, "Your technician is in route" text. And, if you KNOW this is a system issue, why don't you contact the customer to avoid any confusion? Regardless, instead of taking accountability for the extremely inconvenient situation, Charles blamed the ticket system, raised his voice and was extremely patronizing about my situation. Our schedule does not have the availability for an afternoon appointment starting next week and I was told when I called originally given my area, that afternoon appointments are all that's available. So, if you are looking for any type of customer service or communication, skip this company. They are disrespectful and could care less about the customer experience, even though they tout 5 star service. Meanwhile, we continue to live with a loud AC right outside the bedroom window that wakes us up every time it kicks on... Do better Villara. read more

Since that first review, I have had yearly contact with Villara employees for service and checkups. Speaking of customer service, that same dependable service is always on display by the people taking the customer telephone calls. The guys that came out were cool, didn't take long, cared for my home, and found no issues with my system (although that in itself was alarming and reassuring at the same time)... charged me $99 for coming out. The reason for less than 5 stars is the phone folks... making and rescheduling appointments 3 times. None of my choosing, either getting calls the day of, "oh we have someone in the area today, I know your appointment isn't until later this week but can you be home from 1-5pm today?", or rescheduling the day before "unfortunately our technician is overbooked, we will need to reschedule for a later date"... seriously get your act together, either don't over promise timeframes or reduce the number of appointments you book for your tech. I get the more you have, the more money the company could possibly make but if you mess with your customer's schedules so frequently, in the long run, we'll find another company who keeps its commitments. read more

River Islands Lathrop residents: If your Villara Smart Vent (aka whole house fan, damper) ever has an issue, call Villara and ask for Aurelio. Villara is based out of Sacramento, but Aurelio's service area is Lathrop, Manteca and the surrounding areas. I initially spoke with Gwen and she was really kind and helpful! She wanted to make sure that I had already tried to reset the system first before she made my service call appointment. Apparently, resetting the system can solve the issue. Our vent damper error was, "Damper did not CLOSE Call for Service". I was offered an appointment as soon as the next day, but opted for a different day due to our work schedule. On the day of our appointment, Aurelio called me within our appointment window time to let me know that he was on his way. He arrived with his colleague, Eddie, and they troubleshot the system and found that the communication wire was bad. They quickly fixed the issue and even checked out our A/C and heating system as yearly maintenance. They also installed a screen for the huge vent we have in our loft to prevent bugs from coming in. They scheduled an appointment for a manager to come out today then never showed up. When I called they said that I need to have a water test before they show up. Laura agreed to put a return back in the front room, which would've enabled the heating to be balance. However, halfway to the install, they told me they could not install the return duct. increase the supply and return to the main house and host to fix it, but it didn't work. Winter is over and the weather has turned hot, the last thing you want to find out is your new air conditioning system is blowing room-temperature air! Yikes, I contacted Villara since they did my original install to my disappointment when I first contacted them they informed me that my warranty window had just passed. Anyways they set up an appointment and came out to see me pretty quickly. They came out and performed some very thorough testing and informed me that I had a refrigerant leak. After some pretty high initial estimates, Villara reached out to me to let me know that because the unit had been leaking while it was still under warranty they were going to cover the repairs. They patched up the leaks, filled my refrigerant, and gave me advice on how to keep my system purring. The customer service was excellent and I would do business with them in the future. read more

Maybe this is the builders fault for cutting corners but now about 10 years later the A/C has issues all the time. Their senior techs are good people, if you get one. The younger techs are more sales people than technicians. Their techs sometimes don't have the needed materials to finish the job and need to come back. The prices are all over the place, like $400 to clean the outside AC condenser coil. Scheduling sometimes takes 1-2 weeks for them to come out which is usually when the AC is not cooling correctly in the middle of a heat wave. They waived some of my fees which was nice. read more

Please take your business elsewhere. I have been waiting for Villara to repair my A/C unit since June. We are heading into October and no one has called me or updated me on the status of my repair. The initial technician, Justin Sahota, said it would take about 5 weeks to order and install the part. I waited patiently for 5 weeks to pass, I called and then was told it would take 6-8 weeks. Again, I waited. I would call to confirm there was movement on my order, and I would only ever get the voicemail. Without any response. At 8 weeks I was told by customer service that it would take 8-10 weeks for the part. 10 weeks was Labor Day weekend. We are now inching towards October, there is no part. There is no contact, there is no information on when I can expect an update. I don't know if my case has fallen through the cracks or will ever be replaced. I needed to purchase two new HVAC systems. I was referred to Villara Building Services by a well respected friend who is the Superintendent of a large Home Construction Company. Gary, the Salesman, was a pleasure to work with and Justin, the Sales Manager, was responsive and friendly. Customer Service is ingrained in the culture of the organization. Employees are consistently helpful and friendly. That comes from the top leadership of the organization. Villara installed a 3 ton AC for the upstairs and a 3 ton Heat Pump for the downstairs. Also, new ductwork. It was a 5 day residential project. A problem occurred during the installation. People make mistakes. That's why they put erasers on pencils. That's not an issue as I see it. The response of any Contractor to a problem is where the rubber meets the road. That's when the inightmare can begin. The nightmare usually begins with empty promises and then you may find yourself alone on a desert island with the Contractor not returning your calls, texts or emails. I knew I did NOT have legal recourse in this matter. It would be completely up to Villara. Based on my personal/professional experience and training as a retired Law Enforcement Manager, I have seen horror stories where dishonest Contractors cause tens of thousands of dollars in damage to people's homes. Some Contractors are not licensed, don't carry Liability Insurance or Worker's Compensation Insurance. If a worker is injured, the Property Owner may be sued. A home owner who is awarded a Civil Judgment against a Contractor in Court doesn't necessarily mean he/she will ever see a penny. Villara is a large company. I spoke with Scott. He has been in the HVAC business for over 40 years. He has installed or assisted with the installation of hundreds of HVAC systems. Within minutes of talking with Scott, my problem was solved! Scott agreed to address the issue even though I had no recourse. He said, "I want to make sure you are happy with our service." Troy, Installation Manager, personally oversaw the project. He was very professional and polite. I was extremely impressed!! I highly recommend Villara. read more

I had nothing but negative experience with Villara so far that luckily I didn't have to pay for but Payton resolved our issue in 90 degree weather and we haven't had a problem since. To be clear, their plumbing department has been amazing but their HVAC has been a nightmare. I had a minisplit installed, a $10k project. First they forgot to order the cover for it so the install was incomplete. When they came back and had claimed they finished, the indoor unit was installed BACKWARDS. They came back to fix the orientation only to leave a wire disconnected so it still wasn't working. They came back AGAIN to fix it and it finally worked. After a couple weeks they called to have someone come out to take pictures of the unit. No one came on the day they told me they would come (another HUGE waste of my time). The guy actually came a different day and randomly called saying he was 10 mins out. I told him that he was supposed to come a different day and that I am leaving for my doctor's appointment that I had already rescheduled because of this. He shows up anyway right as I'm leaving!! They came out AGAIN to fix the refrigerant tubing because it was literally dangling on the side of the outside wall and was not secured and not up to code. They also did not do a professional job when connecting the power conduit, it's not in a straight line, completely lackluster and not run towards the bottom of the house like how my pool builder ran it - PROFESSIONALLY. Their manager, TJ, contacted me once to apologize but when I had responded to her regarding this company's EXTREME lack of professionalism, she never responded. I told the worker to have TJ contact me and they still didn't. They still tried to have the tech come out. Furthermore, they have two numbers listed on our account, one being my fathers who has extreme memory issues. I've communicated this to them and asked them to take his number out because he never rememebers to communicate things to me either. Their manager has yet to contact me, the tech randomly comes out today before I need to go to work and blocks my entire driveway, essentially holding me hostage over needing to take pictures - something I could have easily sent them. Caused me to be late to my meeting, AGAIN. What a big waste of time!! Also, I told them they are free to come by whenever if they just needed to take pictures of the outdoor unit but they told me they needed to see the inside as well. When the tech randomly came again for the pics - he did not even step foot inside meaning they never needed to waste my time in the first place!!!! What the heck! I'm not sure how everyone else seems to have such a seemless experience with this company and I haven't. To this day they have yet to install the correct breaker as well. Again, I paid 10k in CASH. My experience with Vallara hasn't been very good. moved in may 2023. the weekend we moved in the house a small heat wave hit and the AC wouldn't work. we called in an emergency repair, the system was void of refrigerant. they filled it same day, less than 2 weeks later it happened again. a leak was expected, but the leak wasn't "finally" addressed until april 23 2024. they send different techs nearly every visit. They say they will do specific tests or repairs but don't follow their own instructions. As of now, the issue was a bad weld their techs did at the outside unit AFTER replacing the coil unit outside in january 2024. They refilled the refrigerant at least 4 times on their dime. this is nearly a full year of repeat appointments for the same refrigerant issue and this yelp review is my only recourse. may 23rd 2024 and I am updating this review. I am impressed and satisfied with the diligence they have shown to get my system working properly, despite the many repeat visits over the course of the last year and the frustration that comes with repeat visits. read more

Nah, my experience is all bad news with the HVAC side. My wife signed up for an 'annual maintenance plan'. System was working fine when they show up for the AC maintenance visit, but the tech basically unplugs my system and tells my wife we need a new compressor. At a disrespectful price gouging mark up, btw. The quote they sent doesn't even provide a breakdown on parts and labor. They also managed to set up a sales meeting with my wife to buy a brand new system. Wonder what that price would have been. Huh? Bro, are you for real? I called another company, they came the same day, paid a couple hundred bucks for some refrigerant and cleaning. The cool air flows again. hmmm A spade is a spade. I think they're predators, especially of women who may not have knowledge of HVAC, or anybody else who will feed the ponsi scheme. Called Villara about an A/C issue that was under warranty with my homebuilder. Skeptical at first but I had a real issue on a day that was well in the 100s. Called the office in the morning and the same day Aurelio showed up to diagnosed the problem. He was professional, super friendly and most importantly knew his stuff. Aurelio diagnosed and located the source of the issue. Then to my surprise he had everything in his truck to fix it. He contacted a colleague Dino to assist in my claim and eventually help in the attic. By the time they left everything was in working order and the AC was at its peak performance. Come to find out we had billions of ants in the drain system. He cleaned it out for us and replaced the part that the ants damaged. Villara installed (and manufactured) my condenser/AC unit in my new construction home. I'm now 3 years in on ownership and am on repair #6 (or 7 at this point I've lost track). A brand new house w a brand new "aqua chill" unit and it's had non stop problems. Warranty expired after a year but we purchased the extended warranty because problems started after 8 months of ownership. We are now shopping for a replacement which is NOT cheap and villara won't stand by their 3 year old product which should last much longer. On October 31, 2023 a Villara technician came to repair our HVAC which was not coming to heat the house. Two technicians arrived to repair the unit. They said something like the water was not going out through the shoot. We were charged almost $500. After they left the heater worked about five days then stopped coming on. We called them back and 2 different technicians again came to the house. I noticed from the name tags that one of the technician name tag said lead technician. They said the problem was the same as the last time someone was out. Anyway after they left the system worked 3 days. This time we call another company and the tech showed up the same day and fixed the problem for about $100. The problem had nothing to do what the others from Villara called their selves fixing.
