It's 2023. Every restaurant does separate checks these days. It's so easy. The only reason this would be a no would be you have an outdated pos system or you just don't want to do math. I mean the local strip mall Vietnamese mom and pop shop in south austin lets you do separate checks and they barely have a register. It's just math. Not hard. The next thing that keeps me going there more often is the servers opinions of the owner. I've had one server say the owner is a nightmare. Then I had one server months apart say the owner is a bitch. So disappointing to hear. The servers are really good. I would even say some are too friendly but I realize that's just me being in a hurry or I'm hangry. Do better owner. It feels yucky to support the place now. read more

I love this place! I haven't been dining out in a long time and after careful research, I decided to give this place a try and it definitely did not disappoint. We were seated outside and it was so spacious. The tables were at a good distance apart and the space was just gorgeous. Our waiter was really considerate and made sure he kept this distance when he brought the food over, the workers all had their masks on. The food came out on a timely manner, and the portion was generous. It was so healthy and the flank was perfect with it. It was $26, a bit expensive, but given that it's a non-tip based restaurant, I guess it's not too bad. Overall, a really nice, and safe place to dine outside at, and good food! Beautiful restaurant-- open and modern. Lovely outdoor patio under a HUGE oak. The place is tucked away so you don't easily see it or pass by. High marks for inventive cocktails -- fresh, festive and not overly sweet. (I hate sugary drinks) The green drink is bight and peppery with a nice bite. It's primarily salads, sandwiches and sides, but all taken to a higher level. Most come with meat or cheese, and you can add a protein. It's veggie forward but not vegan. In fact, the vegan options were limited, though I'm sure they would accommodate. We had 3 appetizers-- all great. Loved the kale Nachos, but it's nothing like regular Nachos, so beware. Grilled artichokes we're also great. Dinner for 4, 5 drinks and 3 apps came to $175. Oh, and bonus-- easy, free parking in their lot. read more

What a hidden gem! The outdoor seating is insanely beautiful all tucked up under a giant oak tree. The salad selections were awesome and all four of us loved what we ordered. The biscuit bites are a nice way to start the meal as well as a non-alcoholic tincture or tonic (I'm sure the boozy drinks were just as delicious). We also got two different soups and they were hearty and tasty. The service was great and everything arrived relatively quickly. And this was at 1pm on a beautiful Saturday and there was ample seating and parking. If you want to get away from the insanity and touristness of south Congress but still want to eat in that area, check this place out. Highly recommend! read more

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Austin. It's a gem of a spot! Parking and Reservations - there is always always parking behind the restaurant or free street parking. I usually make a reservation but even without it they rarely seem crowded. With Austin getting so crowded it's hard to find a place where you don't need a reservation. Food - my husband and I are obsessed with the Salacho salad. It's a delicious taco bowl salad. Other than the Salacho, you cannot go wrong with anything else on the menu. Everyone I've taken here has been happy with their food. The salads are huge and filling! Drinks - they have a slew of cold press juice-like drinks. You can treat yourself with a cocktail and not even feel guilty given that it's pretty much a cold press juice. Ambiance - we love sitting outside under the oak tree with friends esp when the lights are on. Great place to bring out of town friends! read more

This is an adorable little hidden gem. I did not know it was even there but its so cute and bright inside. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and attentive. I had the hard kombucha and a pear salad. Both were so good, I ate and drank every last bit! But I felt good and not too full. I loved how cute it was inside and the fun sayings on the wall about eating plants. The outdoor area was also very cozy and shady. My favorite part about it is that they pay their staff well and so a tip is not expected. When I want to eat something healthy and good. This is one of the first places I think of. La pepita is my favorite salad here. Only downside is my jaw hurts from chewing so much kale! But worth it. The Asian chopped salad is good but I've had better elsewhere. For brunch, the michelada was sub par. I would go with the lemonade instead. For most of my life salads have not been exciting. Truly, I'm not sure if exciting is the word that I'd use for them now, but Vinaigrette gets them close to that. The salads are a little bit pricey, but you also get a bomb salad with super fresh greens, wonderfully crafted dressings and high quality proteins. I've not had a bad meal there yet. If salads aren't your game but you want a new brunch spot, then here you go. So it is my own fault that I ordered a reuben that was not that great at a salad restaurant, but while I love the ambiance and décor here and our waiter was beyond fabulous I was not a fan of their cocktails or food. I probably should have ordered a salad to be fair, but I always have an inner struggle paying upwards of $14 for a salad. Living in Austin, I know that is a stigma I should shed sooner rather than later, but it just rubs me the wrong way. Also, to be fair, the salads did look beautiful here and maybe I will come back and try one for myself, but the few nibbles I had from others in our group the salads didn't seem to have enough dressing (though, that may have been the person's preference). The Pimm's Cup I had here, however, was just bad! Watered down and just completely lacking in the flavors that make a Pimm's Cup a Pimm's Cup. This is one of my new favorite places in Austin! The patio is just beautiful and so zen. It also, somehow, manages to stay cool in the middle of the day in the dead of summer. I'm a picky eater and currently have some dietary restrictions, so I've only had one of their salads - La Pepita - and it's so delicious! The prices may seem intimidating, but considering they include gratuity, it's a great value - a massive delicious salad and the tranquility of their garden. Service is also very quick - even during the lunch rush. Stroller status: There is ample space to bring your stroller both inside and outside. This is such an oasis in Austin! The beautiful and spacious patio is decorated with string lights hanging between hundred-plus year old oak trees. You wouldn't even realize you're sitting off South Congress. It feels like a total escape. I've been here multiple times and always felt like the staff really go out of their way. They're so nice and helpful. They don't judge if you have a weirdly specific request or need three substitutions on your salad. I thought my drink was too sweet and our waitress happily got me a different drink and even offered to have them make me a drink special that wasn't on the menu. The salads are also epically huge and fun. They're unique and flavorful and actually make you want to eat kale. I always get the La Pepita because it's so good. They have string lights, picnic tables and regular tables to choose from. Also dog friendly! This is the exact meal I crave after working at a race track all day. Is that weird? To some - maybe. Was in town for the race at COTA and we had a few hours to spare before our flight home. We wandered over to SoCo and loved this adorable restaurant. Parking was easy on the street and the establishment was beautiful. Our sever Mary was also excellent. She was self deprecating in the best way a sever can be. She was comical and knowledge and allowed is to feel at home even tho we were out of towners. I had the rasbeeta and although delicious i wish the cup was slightly larger for the price. But I will say the generous wine pours made up for this.
