I think I found my favorite local pho place. This restaurant is so amazing, and their food quality perfectly describes the kind of place it is. Their ingredients are so fresh, and it is seriously the perfect place whether you're a vegetarian or you love meat. They have a wide selection of foods on their menu, and you are sure to find one that you will enjoy even if you're not feeling up for pho. My sister and I shared the Vermicelli with tofu, and a tofu Pho with veggie broth, and I can't even describe how good it was. The only down side of this place is the price. It's a little more expensive than regular pho restaurants, but the freshness and the taste of their food is so worth it. The inside of the restaurant is also super modern, clean, and they are a compostable-friendly environment (which is always a plus)! I definitely recommend you come here if you want to try to some "healthier" pho styles, cause I definitely will be returning in no time! read more

My coworkers and I went to this place for lunch. It is not your hole in the wall mom n pop shop viet place. It is very hipster/trendy/modern/new. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and the pork fried rice. The shrimp spring roll upon first glance is pretty big, but then once you bite into it, you realize that half of the spring roll is packed-in iceberg lettuce. I prefer my veggie to noodle to ratio in my spring rolls to be less than that. Actually, I'd rather have all rice noodles and no iceberg lettuce. Maybe a leaf of red leaf lettuce, but not iceberg. I will not be ordering that again. But the pork fried rice was really good. The meat was tender and very flavorful and the pork fried rice was really yummy. This I would definitely get again. Some of my coworkers also got the banh mi and while they said it tasted good, the size of the banh mis were small for the price. If I ever do come back here for lunch, I do want to try the banh mi, even though it's kind of pricey and I want to try the pho. This place actually has a pho challenge which I think is hilarious. The broth was amazing! I got brisket pho and the brisket practically melted in your mouth. The staff was friendly and the decor was hip and new. The decor is nice and I liked the online ordering. I also liked how they packed our food to go when we tried pickup in a very orderly way and it stayed hot all the way home. And it's great they're doing local, grass fed etc... Otherwise it's pretty bland. I wouldn't recommend it and we likely won't be back as a regular unless we REALLY don't want to drive an extra 2 miles. Came in today to give this newly opened Vietnamese restaurant a try. I missed the lunch rush so was pretty quiet. The space is modern - not like the standard pho restaurant. They had green chicken curry on special so I gave it a try. It is excellent. There is some heat that is calmed by the sweet/nutty satsumaimo potatoes which was a pleasant surprise.! New(er) Pho place in the neighborhood with an upscale fast-food feel. THE FOOD I've been here about 5 times and have only tried the Pho bowls. Good food: hot, tasty, and served with a small side salad. THE COST The cost seemed about 10-15% higher than other, local competitors. I ordered a Chicken Pho Bowl (with extra chicken) with NO drink and it was above $14 ($16 with tip). A bowl of soup - yikes. THE SERVICE This is where the 3 stars (vs more stars) came in... you walk to the front counter - order. They give you a hand-written number card. Get all of your own utensils. Get your drink. Seat yourself. They call your number and YOU walk back to them. You reseat yourself and eat. You then clean your own table and dishes to a return center. The kicker? Regardless of how busy they are, they serve some guests (bring the food to their table) and the very next person will have to get their own. No consistency. An even bigger kicker - they ask for a minimum of 15% tip when checking out (you have the chance to opt-out of tipping, but I'm a nice guy hoping I'd at least have the Bowl brought to my table). THE ATMOSPHERE Pleasant, warmly lit, tasteful background music. Never too crowded (not sure if that's good or bad). The family of the restaurant had crowded me on 2 occasions while eating (hey, I get that everyone needs a break- but the whole family - in the same corner - sitting on top of me?). This is where the 5th possible star was lost. Personal space people- personal space. THE VERDICT Although a fair experience each time, I will start to visit my other favorite, local Pho restaurant down the street where it's slightly less expensive with full service to include complimentary hot tea. read more

Upon my first visit here I can say that this restaurant is great and will probably be my go-to in the area if I'm craving pho. The soup base, meat, and sides were all very fresh and tasty. It literally tastes like they made the soup and bought ingredients just for your order. Try it for yourself and you'll know what I'm talking about. Very mediocre at best Pho, I get the whole organic connect but seem to have a major flavor disconnect! Granted this was a free meal but it is the exact same as what you would pay for, small portions, thx God for Hoisin & Sriracha sauce! Very disappointed that on 3 different occasions we have ordered Steak PHO and we continually get chicken in our to go order. We even mentioned it to the not so friendly girl working and she got very snappy saying they are doing it right basically shutting us up. Vinason is probably one of the best Americanized Vietnamese restaurants I've gone to--ever. Even when it's busy, they do a great job of maintaining the space, and The food quality has always been consistent, in my experience. Based on the average 4-star review on Yelp, we were excited to try the place out. First impression when you walk in, is it's nice and clean. Definitely has a modern look inside. The person at the front counter seemed nice. Overall, the food was ok. Nothing too special. The dish we really liked was the shrimp spring rolls, the peanut sauce was great! The pickled carrots and daikon were really good as well. We also ordered 6 piece fish sauce chicken wings & 6 piece garlic butter chicken wings (which btw isn't on their menu at the restaurant, we only knew about via Yelp reviews/pics). They weren't as flavorful, at first we couldn't tell the difference which one was which flavor until we checked the sauce at the bottom of the plate. The wings were small in size. $14 before tax, for a dozen super small wings! The pork fried rice we ordered was ehh. Small plate portion. The meat was on top of the fried rice, instead of mixed in, tasted kind of bland and the peas used were frozen peas, because it were very wrinkly. I am very picky about where I go to get Pho. My co-worker told me about this place and ill admit It took me a few months before deciding to try it. I am glad I did. I love this place. It does seem a buck or two more expensive than a few other places I've been to, BUT the cleanliness of their place makes up for the cost. The egg rolls were hot, but weren't served Viet style and therefore nothing to write home about. The tofu in the vermicelli was delicious marinated and well prepared--however, the pork was absolutely disgusting. My partner opened his takeout box to find a few chunks of stringy meat tangled up in a mess of fat. The Pho & food is actually quite good but the take-out service is absolutely terrible. For the last 4 times that I ordered food "To Go" (where I picked it up) they always leave out some of my order. I'll end up paying $30 for 3 items and then I only get the cheapest items in my bag.... and they leave out the most expensive items. By the time I realize what they've done, I am back at work and can't leave. The fact that it happens so often makes me wonder if they do it intentionally. Either way, it's bad business. If this restaurant with stop messing up on my orders, I would give them 4 stars. But for now it's 3 stars. You can't take my money, and then not give me the food that was ordered. read more

Such a disappointment from what they used to be. We used to eat here 2-3 times per week, craving some pho, bahn mi, & egg rolls we stopped by today. We were the only guests in the restaurant today around 2pm. We ordered 1 pho, 1 bahn mi, & 2 egg rolls. We waited 15 mins for our food, messed up the 1st sandwich so they remade it. Stood and waited for the egg rolls for 15 mins when we asked, the kid told us it would be about another 10-15. When I asked to make sure I heard him right that it would be a total of 30 mins to cook 2 egg rolls he told me "not too worry about it" . Unprofessional and unapologetic.
