A simple digital menu shows options available and I was thrilled to see a tofu option for my vegetarian spouse The sandwich was the star with fresh ingredients, really tasty bread, well packaged and not overly messy. The peanut sauce had flavor but more watery and thin than I would have liked. And the spring roll was not vegetarian and there was not a vegetarian option. I ordered a combo banh mi sandwich. It was alight. Also I ordered a cafe sua (Vietnamese Coffee), I saw with my own eyes that she pour some with Coffee Mate Vanilla. Traditional Vietnamese coffee uses condense milk as a sweetener. Not this place for some reasons. I let one of workers know that I have Vietnamese coffee before in many different places and it doesn't tastes like her place. I was being polite and didn't ask for a refund. Service is as expected. They were friendly and took my order without issue. I still feel a certain way about tipping somewhere when it's take out only but I still did. One large grilled pork belly banh mi. Came out and I started to walk away and thought "this is smaller than a 6in subway" so I turned and asked if it was a large. The woman who made it asked if I ordered a large and took the banh mi and checked her POS to make sure I did order a large. Apologized and remade my banh mi. Took it home and ate it for dinner (I didn't have lunch) and to my surprise, it was chicken. I don't like chicken. They make what I would call mini banh mi sandwiches (sorry if "sandwich" is already in the term and that is redundant to add). We've gotten them a couple of times. I always get the tofu version. Flavor was good but my mini chicken sandwich was incredibly salty by the end and the pickled veggies could have been more sour. Overall though it was decent and satisfied the craving. The small size sandwich is very small -just a snack(like half a regular sandwich) and that was perfect for what I wanted, but it wasn't a great value considering for the same price $elsewhere you can get a regular sized sandwich. They sell bags of their rolls, which are nice and soft with good crispy crust. I wanted a tofu banh mi so I looked around the area. It was weird because the menu that other yelpers have posted doesn't have tofu, so I called to double check and they do! It's located in the same area as Lam's seafood. You can get a small ($4.99) or a large size (6.99). The default is large so make sure you specify what size you want. I got the small tofu ---- the small is like maybe 3/4 the size of a regular banh mi and very light. my gripe is their tofu. Omg it's an embarrassment of a tofu. We just arrived in the area and were looking for something to split and hold us off until dinner time. We found this spot inside Lam's market. We shared the pork banh mi with everything on it. The veggies were fresh and crispy and paired well with the crisp bread and tender pork. It was definitely a good bite to hold us over, even though we could go back and order each our own sandwich. It was pretty fast from the time we ordered to when we received the sandwich and the customer service was friendly. They offer two different sizes for banh mi (short and long) only separated by a dollar-ish. Service was good and the banh mi came out fast, but the food itself suffered a bit. There are tables at the side where you can conveniently sit down and eat; this restaurant is located in a food mall/grocery store. Price wise, there are cheaper banh mi restaurants out there. 3/5, Small Pork Banh Mi: the ingredients were good, the pickled vegetables were sweet and had a nice crunch. The pork (not BBQ) was juicy and paired well with the pickled vegetables. Unfortunately, the baguette was objectively not good. All the baguettes are out on racks and they've become a bit stale. The bread is porous and when you take a bit it's crumbs for days. I was sweeping up crumbs off the table vigorously. You can ask to heat up the banh mi but that might make it more flaky. 3.5/5, Shrimp Bread: a small piece of baguette topped generously with shrimp. I liked this! Unfortunately they used the same bread as the banh mi and it's the same as the aforementioned. If you're looking for banh mi, I'd recommend going to ID or another banh mi place as there are cheaper, better quality banh mi out there. Would you miss out if you tried this place? I think the paper bag is a great touch and makes it easier for those who like to eat on the go, compared to parchment and rubber bands. The veggies were fresh and crunchy however, the meat was ok; I've had better but it wasn't bad either. If I'm being honest, the sandwiches are not great. I ordered a large combination and in my opinion, it was plain and lacking a lot of flavor. I almost ordered the pork belly sandwich, but luckily I asked the lady if it comes with pate and she stated that only the combination sandwich comes with it. However, even with all the toppings and condiments it didn't taste like an authentic Banh Mi due to the lack of flavor. I could see the pate in the sandwich but I couldn't taste it, I suppose maybe because there wasn't much in there. It was very disappointing, especially if you are craving a Banh Mi and there aren't many deli's in the area that serve them.
