Great local pizza. Ordered a cheese pizza and it hit the spot. Good value, friendly service.

This family owned cheesesteak and slice shop in Bensalem has been in the clan for over 30 years. Papa Vincenzo and Mama Rose are still behind the counter and in the kitchen doing their thing; opening weekdays at 7 a.m. to keep their morning customers happy with their breakfast pizza. We were there for takeout in the afternoon and in the mood for cheesesteak and sausage, pepper & onion sandwiches. Ordered both with extra sweet peppers and sides of pizza sauce. The grill cook did a nice job. He started grilling the peppers/onions first; got them soft and translucent before dropping the thin sliced steak on top. As he worked the spatula cutting and mixing the mound, I could see everything being blended. He had a similar approach with the Italian sweet sausage; using sliced sausage on the grill first until adding the onions and peppers so they were all finished at the same time and blended as with the cheesesteak. So much better than just dropping them in on top at the end. When we opened both aluminum foil wrapped sammies at the kitchen table, they were still steaming with an aroma that brought smiles. First bites were terrific as all that blending at the grill made for almost homogenized texture and perfect flavors. If a suggestion would be in order, something should be done to keep the torpedos from becoming so moist on the trip home. Perhaps, a submarine box with a few vents would do the trick. That could result in a 5 Star sighting!

Plain pizza - cheese shifted during delivery, but it was still a solid pizza
    John L.

Have eaten here several times over the years and I can say they have always been very friendly and the food was always solid. I've had takeout, delivery and dined in and every experience was good. The breakfast pizza's are very good and on my most recent experience the pizza is still solid. I ordered delivery and although the cheese shifted a little on the way, the pizza's ingredients were tasty. The sauce is a little sweet, but just right, not overly sweet, the dough was a little chewy, personally I think it could have been cooked a little bit longer, but the cheese was fresh and tasty. Everyone enjoyed the pizza and now I'm thinking a breakfast pizza is in my near future. Keep up the good work guys!

    Philly cheesesteak

Everybody promises their cheesesteaks are the best. Look y'all there is a big difference between a cheesesteak in the South compared to one in the North. These guys here help me understand that. They gave me a vibe as if I walked into a Sopranos scene when I walked in. A real Philly should be impossible to close. If you find yourself in a situation where your sub is touching both sides at the top politely had it back and tell them to "Do Better". The man behind the grill whipped up one of the biggest Phillys I ever had. Oh yea and I could park my big rig out front! Will be back if I'm in the area!

Not only is the owner Vince one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet his food is awesome. When we are in the area it is our favorite breakfast spot, everything is seasoned well and made fresh to order. These are some of the best home fries I have ever had and this breakfast sandwich is delicious too.

Excellent tasting pizza. Only downside is frozen crust. The $7.99 deal for a large plain Monday through Friday is a great one.

Worse, you might decide to just drive on, and miss a straight up very good meal. There are a few small dining areas in the building in addition to a large back kitchen and prepping/cashier zone up front. Attractively utilitarian, all. Room to stand and wait for your order without feeling cramped, as I was doing as my two hot sandwiches were working. These were taken to go, so when I opened the brown bag at home, I found neatly packaged long torpedo sammies (Boardwalk Sweet Sausage, Pepper and Onion/Eggplant Parm) in separate recyclable styro containers. Naturally, the enclosed bread absorbed some condensation so they were no longer dry and a crunchy bite, but were still delicious. Quality Italian sausage complemented well with the sweet and savory sauteed veggies. Eggplant breaded lightly and pan fried in extra virgin before placed in the roll with mozza and tomato sauce on top, and baked in the pizza oven until all melted into a savory layered tasty ensemble. I bought two to share, and everyone was happy, even the next day when reheated. Service was friendly and casual, and prices reminiscent of pre-pandemic days. Pizza looked good, too, but will have to save comments until I return to sample a few.

I called immediately and ordered a large pizza and a chicken Parm sandwich for our group. Once I got a taste of the chicken Parm sandwich, there was no way anyone else was touching it. It was delectable! The chicken was quality, and it was very tender. The roll was soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside just as it should be. The next day, I was kind of hankering for it again so I called and ordered another chicken Parm sandwich. It was every bit as delectable as the day before. Flash forward two days and I decided I can't go back to the Bay Area without having pizza considering SF pizza is not that good. I ordered the Sicilian. Oh my God! It was the best pizza I have ever eaten. It had to have weighed 20 pounds. I am not kidding you. It has 20 large pieces and it was only $26!! in San Francisco that pizza would cost near $100 bucks. I told my brother-in-law that it was the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life and that is 100% true. The people who work here are smart and amazing and very helpful. Next time I come to town, I'm heading straight for Croydon Pizza. A++++++

I've never really eaten much from these guys because their pizza is more of the New England/Greek style, pan little greasy. Just not my fav. My wife is a huge fan of the chicken in their Caesar Salad so I had to at least try it. The inside is a bit dated, but clean. The staff seemed nice. Menu prices are on the higher end. Their wings in a mild "house sauce" were small and bland. The sauce needed some major work. The Buffalo chicken wrap was drippy and not appetizing. Fries were bland, chicken fingers were small and flavorless. The only thing worth my two visits was the grilled chicken Caesar wrap. The chicken was seasoned well, fresh and delicious. The wrap was well put together with fresh lettuce and the lettuce wasn't drenched in dressing. I'd give them 3.5, but I'd have to try more menu items that are worthwhile for the price. The seating area has several tables and they sell slices. On my first trip I tried a cheesesteak, my son had a cheeseburger and my youngest had chicken fingers. We brought home mozzarella sticks for my wife to try. The chicken fingers were the smaller/thin, bland frozen type. The burger was sizable, had a nice brioche bun and overall was pretty standard. The mozzarella sticks were "beer battered" and not too bad. My cheesesteak could have used more cheese to melt and mix with the steak. The steak was chopped, but was a better quality than the basic cardboard steak some places serve. The meat wasn't greasy, but was a tad overcooked. The roll was fresh and toasted. I asked for hot peppers and got the standard yellow hot banana. I gave the sandwich an average score. Points for it not being drippy and greasy. On my second visit I ordered a small 12" pizza and asked for it to be cooked well done. It was ready in ten minutes. The crust was fresh and not too soft/not too crispy and thankfully not chewy. Cheese was a tad sweet, stringy and not overly greasy. The sauce was rich and tangy. Tasted like a cross between a pasta and pizza sauce. I thought the pizza was just above average and would repeat. The owner took care of me both times and was extremely nice. I would definitely repeat if I'm in the neighborhood. Thanks guys and best of luck!
