Never made it to a table to eat. This place was recommended. We are long time residents of San Dimas in Via Verde , we were excited to try this restaurant. We did not know we needed reservations. The older woman at the front was very rude to us and made us feel like we were bothering her by walking in without a reservation. She possibly can be the owner. Well guess we won't be back ... so they get one star. Guess we will have to stick to San Dimas for now. I am not sure but I believe her Son owns Palermo in Via Verde. Such a shame this woman has such a bad attitude. Read all the comments about her hospitality. We were not the only customers that have experienced this treatment. I have followed this restaurant when it was located in Covina for years and also West Covina prior to new home in the Walker House. What a special place to dine, delicious food and service. Everything was perfect for a recent visit for my celebratory Birthday luncheon. Wonderful place for ladies club luncheons and the outside dining is just great as well. Will be back! read more

This wonderful restaurant is sooo good that I am writing this review immediately after coming home from dinner here. I wanted to write it while all of our pleasant experiences were fresh in my mind. We are new to the area and still discovering places to eat. I wanted to find a place with good pasta, something good for the kids, and a place with other food besides pasta (for my husband who is currently on a no carb diet). I came across Vincenzo on Yelp and we decided to try this place out. I got the lasagna, which was just exquisite. The pasta is freshly homemade with great texture. The sauce was just fantastic. They cheese on top had such a perfect crisp. My absolute favorite part was the crispy spinach that topped the lasagna. Who knew crispy spinach would be so delightful! It was the best lasagna I have ever had. My husband got the branzino (fish), which was on top of a bed of spinach and roasted tomatoes. I, of course took a bite. The fish was flavored so well! It was also boneless, which was a plus for my husband. My husband also loved the fish. The girls got spaghetti with meat sauce. It's not actually on the menu, but they offered this to us as something kids like to order. We ordered a plate to have them share. They brought it out split for us, which I thought was very nice. Our 5 year old loved it so much, she said she wanted more. I was almost embarrassed how loudly she said it, but the owner heard and immediately came to our rescue. They were so kind to make another half order for her. She gobbled that up, too. Our youngest, who is hit or miss with eating a lot, finished everything and basically licked her bowl clean. Vincenzo was an absolute hit with the kids. Side note to us and some of you: they do half orders, so you can order 1.5 for your hungry teen or if you have one kid and want a half order to yours. Oh and they have the most amazing focaccia bread, which is brought out before dinner with a garlic spread that melts in your mouth. We also ended dinner with tiramisu, which was so delicious. Kathy, the owner, is so wonderful. She came and talked to us and made us feel so welcome. She was so sweet to the girls, too. It is a family run business. Her son, who took care of us throughout dinner, was so attentive and kind. I was very impressed with his service as well as the other servers and busboys. We will definitely be back. Went to the "new" location at The Walker House in San Dimas. The historic location is beautiful, but no beauty can mask the unfriendly demeanor of the older woman working as hostess, who I'm assuming is also the owner of this establishment. I'm no snowflake, but I'm getting really tired of going to restaurants where I'm paying good money (often times overpriced), only to be served by people who clearly don't want to be there. For me, human interaction, and the way you're treated at a restaurant means more than the quality of food. Have only good things to say about our experience here. The food tasted fresh and refreshingly light, avoiding from leaving you with that heavy feeling that a lot of Italian restaurants do. They relocated from West Covina and has only been a few months. I spoke to the owner and much planning is going into this new location. There will be different rooms that can be reserved, a sitting room and tables will be set up for brunch in the huge porch area. I had the Tortellini di Pollo $16.95 Chicken stuffed pasta served with mushrooms and green peas in a cream sauce. Absolutely delicious! They are working on having to set up background music. Wonderful to experience (moderately) fine dining in a historical building in a small community. Food and pasta was definitely made there in the kitchen which I feel is hard to find in restaurants. I didn't know hummus was Italian, but it's served with homemade focaccia bread that's on the house and ordered and baked as you are seated. Everything was very rich and buttery so go on a cheat day. Reservations are preferred however they sat us immediately and just explained we might be there an hour and a half for the entire meal which was relaxing, beautiful, and accurate. read more

This may be my new favorite italian place, based off two items I have tried here. The lasagna and the gnocchi. First the lasagna, its made with some greens to give it that greenish color in it's pasta sheet, great balance in meat, sauce and pasta. It's a good size that will fill you up. Second was the gnocchi scampi, shrimp had a nice snap to it, dish had overall great flavor, delicious gnocchi. Service was cool, they have indoor and outdoor dining. This is a little unassuming place in San Dimas with a wonderful ambiance. The cuisine is an absolute love letter to Italy! The lobster bisque is incredible, the Lasagna Bolognese is a popular dish and is one of my favorites! Wonderful little place in W Covina. First time here so we got a good sampling of food. Kicked off with their Caesar Salad and Mozarella Friti. The mozarella was amazing, perfectly crispy on outside and just enough oooze in the middle. Followed that up with their lasagna and short rib ravioli. The lasagna was the star. This review is long overdue. We've eaten at Vincenzo's Terrazza quite a few times over the past two years, most recently a couple weeks ago while we had out-of-town guests. This place doesn't provide fast service, and that's a good thing. If you're looking to "eat-and-run", don't come here. If, like me, you enjoy a leisurely dining experience at no rush, then this is the place for you! The staff are all so friendly and professional. All of the waiters are very helpful with menu selections and specials of the day. Kathy, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helpful with wine pairings. Their chef prepares some of the most amazing Italian dishes that I've ever had. As I've stated in many reviews, lasagna is my base-line dish, used to compare all Italian cuisine restaurants. Well, Vincenzo's is one of the best I've ever had anywhere in the world...makes my top 3 list. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but to me, the real treats are found in the daily specials. The chef is amazing and his attention to detail and flavors will blow you away. One of my true gauges for a 5-star review is consistency. Every time we've been here, it's been an amazing experience. If you haven't had a chance to try it, believe me you won't regret it. I am very critical about my Italian restaurants. Happy to report, Vincenzo's was really a surprise. A good one! It is more upscale, but the prices actually aren't too bad. Companion ordered the frutti di mare which was a huge portion and all very good quality. I had the penne ala vodka, pasta was cooked perfect, but unfortunately a star reduced due to slight aftertaste of burnt garlic. Other than that, all were happy with their meals. Was with a large group and orders ranged from meatball sub, to pizza, to pasta, to salad. The menu will have something for everyone. My lovely coworkers treated me to lunch here yesterday for my birthday. There are in the same plaza as the 85 degree bakery on the east side of Citrus Street and south of the 10 freeway. My coworker made a reservation for a party of 10. The owners were on-site when we were there. Their lunch menu is served from 11:30AM-3:00PM and Dinner starts at 5:00PM. The prices for lunch entrees are around the $10-15 range. The bread they bring out is hot and fluffy and instead of butter, they give you a "hummus" like spread. Wow, so delicious. Our server was Anthony and he had a helper that was constantly refilling our ice teas and water. Most of our group ordered a salad or a pasta dish. I was debating betweeh the Spaghetti al Vongole e Botarga (Spaghetti with clams) or the Fettucine alla Bolognese (Homemade pasta with Bolognese meat sauce), but ended up getting the Fettucine alla Bolognese. I love the texture of homemade pasta. It has to have that slight "chew". The Insalta di Mela looked really good and my coworker had me taste some of hers. It consists of Fuji apple with arugula, endive, candied walnuts and topped with goat cheese and balsamic dressing. You can add chicken or shrimp for an added cost. The Insalata di Mare also looked amazing! (baby mixed greens with clams, mussels, calamari and shrimp with lemon extra virgin olive oil dressing) Tagliolini Rossie con Ragu di Pollo alla Marsala was homade RED BEET linguine with a chicken Marsala ragu on a bed of Parmesan fondue. The Trenette al Pesto (homemade linguine pasta with fresh basil pesto sauce) was also a nice portion. One of my coworkers bought me a cake from a bakery and the owner was kind enough to bring it out for us, light the candles and also serve pieces of cake to everyone. This is why I love family-owned restaurants! Overall, the sauces aren't overly salty and the food did not take too long to come out. I will have to come back with my husband soon. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I came here with my sister and my dad after passing by this place on several occasions. The owner greeted us outside and recommended we try the place, and since we were undecided about where to go and have wanted to try it, we decided why not! Decor is very warm and inviting, definitely a nice place to take someone for a romantic cozy feel We were the only ones there for the night which initially caused some concern but the owner mentioned having very fresh seafood which totally derailed that thought haha. Our waiter went over the dinner specials for the night and I kind of decided for everyone what to get. We ordered all the dinner specials as follows: Clams and mussels in garlic tomato soup with toasted focaccia, absolutely ahhhhmazing! The broth itself was a good blend of seafood stock, tomato base, and garlic, with great yet not overpowering flavor. There were so many mussels and clams, I lined the entire bottom plate all the way around. I cleaned that plate. Wild mushroom ravioli with truffle shavings, I only had a couple bites but it was very flavorful with huge shavings of truffle, though I imagine eating a whole plate by myself might end up being too heavy in truffle oil flavor Penne salmone in vodka sauce had perfectly al dente cooked pasta in a good vodka sauce. Salmon was cooked completely and still very tender while staying together Pesca misto mixed seafood showed good execution by the chef. I am not typically a fan of salmon because it is often cooked too dry but their salmon was seared crisp on the outside yet perfectly tender and moist on the inside even without skin. The massive scallop was also seared very well on the outside and just ever so slightly bordering medium rare from medium on the inside. Some may prefer less or more cooked internally but to me that is ideal. The dish itself could use some sort of sauce to compliment everything but seems meant to be served simply as it is. Tiramisu was the most moist I've ever tasted not to mention a nicely sized piece. Very good but at that point I was just too full. Could've enjoyed it more had I not been lol Service was impeccable and this is a place that does serve quality ingredients but the price may be a bit steep for some to stomach. Quality ingredients, especially seafood doesn't come cheap, then they still have to make a profit. Something to think about I suppose. We ended up spending $150 pre tip/tax for the three of us which I ball parked pretty closely (all of the special items have no price shown). We're local and I was craving some Italian food so.I searched Yelp, wow what a great find this place is!!. We walked in and only a few tables were busy. Our server Alfred was fabulous. We looked at the menu, heard the specials and made some decisions. We went with the calimari fritti for an appetizer which was fresh, lightly breaded and excellent with the spicy dipping sauce. My picky dining partner got the chicken Milanese/Pollo parmigiana. We were amazed at how a breaded fried chicken breast can be so tasty juicy and delicious. The roasted potatoes and fresh cooked veggies were spectacular! I kept picking at his plate between bites of my delicious gnocchi scampi. It is gnocchi with shrimp and a delicious sauce. We love desserts and decided a chocolate gelato and a crema catalana for dessert. Gelato was good however the crema Catalana dessert blew me away! This place was more than I expected. I happened across it while searching for some good italian food near me. I found this on yelp, and when I saw one of my friends had been here, review it and loved it, I definitely had to come try it out. I love the decor of this place, so warm and welcoming. It has a sort of rustic appeal, very quite and cozy, it easily make you forget there is a busy intersection and freeway nearby. The service was impeccable. Jeff (I believe that was his name) was fantastic. He was attentive and great with recommendations for first timers like ourselves. We ordered the gnocchi with shrimp in a vodka cream sauce and the fettuccine with italian bacon in a cream sauce. Both were absolutely superb! The gnocchi were like little soft pillows of deliciousness, they were the perfect vessel for the vodka cream sauce. They practically dissolved as soon as they hit your tounge but we're still so creamy. The fettuccine and Italian bacon was out of this world! but who who wouldn't like pasta and bacon in a cream sauce!? Need I say more? The bread provided was as simply amazing, had a great crunch but was so soft in the center.. it was perfect for sopping up the sauce left over from the gnocchi. Jeff was quick and knowledgeable with wine selection for the meal, however we were set on having a red and after explaining what we were in the mood for, he said "I have the perfect thing" and dissapered to the back, he quickly returned with two glasses and I must say, Jeff knocked it out of the park, the wine was perfect and exactly what we wanted. Compared to other italian places I feel it wasn't bad at all price wise. For the two plates and 4 glasses of wine it came out to $93 after tax and tip. Easily what you'd spend at other places for a similar meal, But for the hand made pasta and fresh ingredients you find at Vincenzo's.. I'd say it is beyond worth what you pay. The food here alone was excellent, worth the trip all in its own. However the service was out of this world, and would ensure me coming back again and again. Service was very good. They are there when they are supposed to be and not when they are not. The portions are a touch on the smaller side (salad and main course) so might suggest they add a small little accompanying pasta with something like their entre' fish. I would not do the salad again. Tasty but overpriced for size and what comes w/ it. Pasta portions could be bumped up a small amount. They provide complimentary bread and what I believe to be a garlic spread. Nice touch. The flavor profile a bit more subtle so that can be a plus or minus depending on your preferred taste. They have a nice wine selection along with a nice by the glass / house type wine that had a nice balance. The menu selections a bit lower than many other restaurants but that could also be Covid where they don't want too broad of a menu and not turning items to stay fresh with the unpredictable nature of openings / closing. Good social distancing and offer indoor and outdoor dining choice. Overall we enjoyed it and would return but probably a second / third choice in this part of the SGV area. But again, I think it more a function of the girlfriend's personal preference of slightly bolder Italian flavors as the flavors were good. read more

What a great little place for a meal. It is located in a relatively new plaza (that also houses 38 degrees) and the ambiance really reminds me of being in Italy. All of the pastas are hand made and are delicious. They start you off with some complimentary bruschetta and a basket of WARM bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I love having fresh warm bread and they were nice about bring me some parmesan cheese to eat with the bread. We tried the pasta special which was a mushroom, scallop, and shrimp linguine in a white wine sauce ($26). The dish was amazing. It was really good although it is pricey for a pasta dish. We also tried the red beet taglioni with a chicken ragu sauce ($14). This was good too and very tasty with a decent amount of chicken ragu. I probably would have raved about how great the pasta was if I didn't have the other mushroom and seafood pasta dish to compare it to. The only drawback is that the kitchen is pretty slow - I guess it makes it more authentic Italian! Definitely a spot I would want to come back to. I was on a date with my boyfriend when we stumbled upon this place by accident and we were so glad we did! It was pretty late at night so we arrived 15-20 minutes before closing. My boyfriend offered to leave so that we wouldn't hold up the staff members but the waiter gave us a warm welcome and assured that it was fine and guided us to our table. As we walked through the restaurant, we were impressed with how nicely decorated the place is. My boyfriend stated that it had a comfortable European vibe to it and the walls were painted as if we were dining in the heart of Venice! The service was excellent. The waiter was kindly explaining to us in detail about the menu and displayed an impressive sense of elegance and formality throughout the whole night. In general, the staff was very attentive and efficient in serving us the food and drinks. The food itself was absolutely delicious. (Unfortunately I can't remember the names because the titles of the dishes were all in Italian haha.) However I can clearly remember the high quality texture and taste of the food. The flavor was perfectly balanced and it all seems to just melt into your taste-buds. After going there multiple times and ordering extra food to go, I have concluded that I can close my eyes and pick any item on the menu and will be guaranteed absolute satisfaction.
