So excited this place moved so close to us! We went for dinner, hubby had the seabass special that night and I had a risotto with scallops. Outcome.... Husband said it was better than the seabass he had just had at a swanky place in Laguna Beach.... Mine was delicious- the scallops were perfectly cooked as was the risotto. To top it of we shared a piece of tiramisu which was delicious, the right proportions of cake to filling... (I hate when places give you a plate of 90% whipped cream). Everything was deliziosa! No wine yet but that will take everything over the top! Can't wait to go back and heard they'll be doing brunch too which would be so fun with friends! Yay! (Sweet server too!) NOT KID FRIENDLY My family tried to eat here tonight. Yes we took three young kids who like to play, but no they are not obnoxious kids. The lady (owner) appeared rude an annoyed as soon as we walked in. Her attitude was terrible, my two year old walked about 6 feet from the table, Rude Owner Lady came over and said "she needs to be strapped in her high chair." She had a bad attitude. The ambience was beautiful. It is a gorgeous location gorgeous house/restaurant but my husband and I went to an event there this last Tuesday and I ordered the lasagna Bolognese which was covered with sauce and yet I could hardly cut into it because it was very hard. I barely took a couple bites and decided just to take it home but I did tell the young lady who was serving the water and tea about this and she said oh it gets hard when it gets colder I said it was hard from the beginning of the meal. She said I'm sure if you could take it home it'll be OK just to rewarm it, so we brought it home and what we found out once we put it into a container to microwave was the whole bottom part was completely burnt and so were the sides of this lasagna. When I was told this was one of the two options, I thought this would be delicious, but it was so terrible. This was our first experience at your beautiful facility, and that was a terribly sad experience. And my husband ordered the salmon, which was slightly better but half of his dish was cold, and the salmon was extremely salty. I think customers you know this in order to remedy the problem up front if you go. Since we were at an event, all I could do was ask the young lady about my food and how it was, and did not get any resolution I too am a business owner, and would rather hear the areas that need to be fixed rather than it just going under the radar. The food here was excellent! The ambiance was good enough for us. My daughter wanted Italian food, so I googled a couple places before finding Vincenzo's. At first I was unsure of what to order because it was a genuine Italian restaurant. A lady by the name of Kathy helped us out with the menu and was very accommodating. The wait staff along with Kathy really made us feel welcomed even though we were a little dressed down for dinner. We ordered calamari fritto for our starter, and it was fried perfect. It wasn't overly fried and the calamari was tender inside. The sauce that came with it was also very delicious and wasn't over powering the calamari. The bread that came out with their garlic garbanzo spread was phenomenal if you like garlic! It would have tasted better with some olive oil in my opinion but I didn't even ask because I just kept eating it. Since I stuffed myself with bread, I ordered a salad that was just enough to finish me off. My daughter ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Although it wasn't on the menu, they made it to perfection. My daughter absolutely enjoyed it especially with the extra Parmesan they offer you. My friend ordered a pasta dish with bolognese. I'm sure his was delicious because his whole plate was cleaned up. The price was reasonable. For three main dishes, a starter, waters, a pop, and some bread, we paid about $80 with tip. Such a great Italian restaurant. We would most definitely go again! We loved the food here, so when we were celebrating another birthday on March 14, we decided to order takeout for six people. In one dish, the chicken was raw after my nephew took a bite out of it already. We had to pan fry it. The pasta bolonese tasted great as previously reported, but the portion was only a fistful of pasta, which isn't what I remembered from our previous dining experience. The pork chop was good BUT raw chicken for the birthday boy was unacceptable. We were so looking forward to enjoying this food again, but the takeout on this occasion (which was a special 22nd birthday) was disappointing. Hence this update. This was my third or fourth visit to Vincenzo's and it won't be the last! The service is always spectacular and the food is always delectable! When we eat at Vincenzo's, we always feel like we matter to the staff and we're not just a number. Plus, the restaurant is quaint and charming and parking is always easy to find because the restaurant is located in a shopping center with a large parking lot. The one thing I would change is that I would love to see more variety on the menu as well as more vegetarian options. read more

I contacted this restaurant to confirm the location as I saw pictures of a different storefront and address on Yelp. The woman who answered was short, easily agitated and has no business being in the restaurant business as I now see from other reviews. I would like to personally thank her for being rude and saving me a trip and the money to try her restaurant. I had a great dinner at another wonderful Italian restaurant in Covina. My favorite Italian restaurant hands down. Feels like i went to Italy and came back everytime I eat here. You can definitely taste the difference in quality here. The pasta is homemade, made from scratch and that makes all the difference in the world. Their bolognese sauce is delicious, best i ever had. Before you order food, they bring out fresh bread with hummus? (idk what it actually is haha) but it's soooo delicious. I can get full just off of that! It's like a flavor bomb bursted in your mouth! Service has always been phenomenal here. The male waiters are always super attentive and amazing, they keep our water cups full and make sure we have enough bread. It feels like such an amazing experience every time i eat here. This is a wonderful restaurant to take someone on a date or just to grab dinner. 11/10 read more

My family had dinner here on Sunday night. We love the Walker House and when we learned new owners took over - we were hopeful. However, when we walked in the restaurant at 5pm, noone was at the Host desk and as we waited, my wife went searching for a restroom. She ran into a senior woman and asked her if she knew where the bathroom was. This woman paused, looked angrily at my wife and instead of answering her question - she gruffly asked "do you have a reservation?". We were taken back at her attitude. I felt like saying - "I always get dressed up and walk into an off the path restaurant just to use the bathroom". When we figured out that she may be part of the place's ownership - we almost left but didn't want to ruin it for the rest of the family. Aside from the bread and chickpea spread (blah) and kind of a long wait post-ordering, the food was really good and reasonably priced. Anthony...if you are the owner, you need to have a hard talk with Mom about her demeanor. I don't care if she put up the money for your place - she is the first impression of your business and it aint pretty. Word spreads really fast in the small communities of LV and San Dimas and she can take you down. The food was good enough to try again after the holidays. My hope is that there is change and I will write a follow-up review. read more

Extremely slow. We waited over 20 minutes for lasagna for lunch and weren't checked on. The lasagna was served with fried spinach leaves that were burned . It was such a small portion that despite it costing almost 20 dollars it took me about three minutes to eat. Biweekly lunch spot. It is a small family hole in the wall Italian restaurant. Sometimes the food is a hit or miss but they freshly make their pasta and use fresh quality ingredients. Kathy the owner always takes good care of me and pretty much all the locals know her and her husband from their first restaurant. My favorite dish is their off the menu signature seafood linguine tossed in a light tomato sauce dash with crushed red pepper and sole filet in lemon caper sauce with roasted vegetable and tomato salad. I will start off by saying that I don't eat at very many Italian restaurants and maybe I just don't have refined taste buds. Started off with an appetizer that I can't remember the name of but it had vegetables and wasn't very memorable. For my main course I got the fettuccine alla bolognese and the flavor just wasn't there for me. It seemed kinda bland and I didn't really like the texture of the fettuccine. The portion sizes were pretty small considering the prices. The restaurant itself was quite nice and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was mediocre as well. I'm genuinely confused why this restaurant has such high reviews, for several reasons. For a lack of better words... Upon arriving, the restaurant smelled like a convalescent home. And no, it's not because of who was in the restaurant, I'm not being mean. The house is old and is probably why it smells off, but the food did not mask that smell and they could light scented candles but don't have any of that either. One member of our party ordered carbonated water. Our waiter did not know how to react when we said that it tasted chlorinated. He asked us what we wanted him to do to fix it. We asked if they had any bottled water or bottled mineral water (which is on the menu) but they didn't have that either. We felt awkward at this point and he just left us without attempting to resolve the problem even if it was a compromise of some sorts. I cannot speak about everyone's dish because I only tried one other pasta. But everyone in our party echoed that the food lacked flavor and seasoning. The calamari needed salt and just overall tasted like nothing. My pasta had a poignant fishy smell. It had shrimp and scallops that were over cooked. The pasta itself was well cooked and I believe made fresh - no complaints here. But the sauce did not taste good and the overall smell deterred me from eating the entire plate. No one in my party wanted to try it either because it just didn't look appetizing. They have a surcharge for paying with card which I rarely see when you spend over $100 at a restaurant. Would have been nice to know in advance. Overall the ambience was off. The service was subpar. And the food was not impressive. There are other restaurants in the area that have a more pleasant atmosphere and dining experience at around the same cost or even less. I hope this place improves for their own sake, but it is unlikely we will return to dine here. read more

We had reservations for a group of 12 on a Saturday evening, they had a cute room waiting for us when we started to arrive. Speaking only for myself, I was disappointed in the service/food. I ordered an iced tea and received a tea with maybe three ice cubes, no big deal--I just asked for a glass of ice which never came. I was the third one to order out of our group and my food arrived 6 minutes after everyone else, only awkward for my party as I kept telling them to eat but they insisted to wait. When my meal finally did arrive I noticed my vegetables were carrots and zucchini not broccolini like the menu had stated. I didn't say anything as the carrots were good but I was looking forward to the broccolini. The meat was cooked to my liking; however, there was not enough peppercorn sauce, I asked the waiter if they perhaps had A1, he said no and walked away. I tried to keep eating my meal when another waiter happened to walk past me I asked if I could have any additional sauce with the meat and she said she would see, again nothing. I ate my dry meat and that was that. I think they could improve on being more attentive and if they are out of something on the menu they should let us know beforehand so we can decide if we want something else. Overall the get together was nice and the waiter was nice enough to take a group picture of us. I don't think I will be craving to come back anytime soon. read more

This restaurant can be easily overlooked because of its plain exterior but as you walk in,a whole world of delicious and delightful delicacies await all of us. Starting off with their calamari fritti,fresh calamari tossed on a bed of baby greens lightly drizzled with a lemony vinaigrette.Now I must mention that you can order this appetizer fried or grilled but thought the grilled version had a more intense flavor to it,in my opinion.Another nice little appetizer that I had a go at was the Katarina.This plate had an assortment of smoked Italian bacon,radicchio,mozzarella and mascarpone cheese.So far everything was hitting all my tastebuds.To cap off my dining experience I had their Risotto Catalana,arborio rice with shrimp and scallops in a saffron sauce.At first I thought the seafood overpowered the plate but once I blended everything together,I understood why it was done. Just had an amazing meal here - authentic southern Italian food and great wine with no frills and excellent service. The octopus salad and truffle pizzas as starters were amazing - a place that offers and then delivers on octopus is always legit. This is one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had - if it's in season here, definitely get it! The truffle pizza was simple, clean, and a great way to get into the meal. I had a seafood pasta that was very fresh and very clean. My wife had a pasta with amazing pecorino cheese and fennel sausage that tasted so fresh. I loved her dish even more than mine. Great portion sizes! Usually this type of quality and price point is a smaller portion size these days, so I appreciated that we actually had a little leftover pasta (I personally love next day old pasta as the sauces have time to settle and soak in more... also, I'm lazy). The wine was great and then the dessert which we had was a Creme brûlée that was WILD! It was a little different - maybe a little thick? This hidden gem in West Covina is family owned. Our server Anthony and his mom own and manage the place. You can see the pride in ownership as Anthony tells us all about the menu and the family story. I ordered the gnocchi with bolognese sauce. The gnocchi was soft. You could tell it was homemade. I tried the gnocchi with chicken, the tortellini, and the tiramisu. The gnocchi was out of this world. The texture is so soft it almost melts in your mouth. And the cream is so savory. I wish the pasta I made tasted half this good. The cream sauce for the tortellini was a little bland but not bad overall. I think trying the gnocchi first really overpowered the flavors of the tortellini dish. The tiramisu was amazing too. I don't usually go for tiramisu but this really hit the spot. It's so sweet and smooth with a very light coffee flavor that even a non-coffee drinker can appreciate. The staff were very friendly and were always coming around to check up on us or serve more drinks. The historical decorations inside make it feel like it could be a fancy restaurant but it has a homey casual ambiance. read more

Really good food, great service and a nice setting in the Walker House. Everything was well priced and actually less expensive than I thought it would be. We had the calamari and fried mozzarella, both were great. Our server let me order a pasta dish I had seen on Instagram that actually isn't on their regular menu, but since they have all of the ingredients it was no problem. It was rigatoni in a garlic cream sauce topped with mushrooms and prosciutto. So good. Everything else also loved their dishes, the fish special was a hit. Their spinach is very tasty as well. For dessert we tried the chocolate gelato, cheesecake, tiramisu and another dish that was similar to a crème brûlée. They were all good but the tiramisu seemed to be the favorite. I've been to Vincenzo's twice now and recommend it for outstanding Italian food at a reasonable price. Today, I went with a friend for lunch and we split a couple of pizzas (The Romano and the Vincenzo). The pizzas are excellent, thin crust and crispy with very fresh ingredients. I especially enjoyed the Vincenzo pizza. I also had the Bronzino special for dinner last week which was also outstanding. I wrapped up dinner with some of their tiramisu, which is among the best I have had. In fact, the person at the table next to us was a self professed foodie and strongly recommended the tiramisu to us. It did not disappoint! I generally order one of the fish plates as I try to eat a Mediterranean diet without the grains or pasta. My favorite is the sole My wife generally has a pasta a d keeps returning to the lasagna.
