Visited this RV resort during the Mid State Fair. We were looking forward to our stay because we had stayed at many Sunland Resorts in the past (Escondido, San Diego and Hemet) and were please with both facilities and staff. This was different. It is right next to the freeway which was ok but our problem began at happy hour at the bar. The bar tender between drinking himself played very offensive music, music that was dropping the F Bomb, extremely sexually explicit song and lyrics containing the N word which Was very offensive. I am not a prude but this music was totally inappropriate for this type of venue and clientele. Never experienced this in my camping. I reported this to the front desk the following morning (Stephanie) who seemed to be concerned and was very apologetic. She later sent a card apologizing, however the following day she made excuses for the bartender (had the wrong play list) told other guest they had a great bartender. Really disappointed in Sunland. Shocking and scary experience. read more

Beware! They do not tell you over the phone that your 50% deposit is not refundable! I had to cancel 2 weeks in advance. This is not good business to not tell people over the phone. They tell you after that it is in the receipt so I looked - it is - in the FINE PRINT! When no other place ANYWHERE I have ever stayed in my life has no such a policy it is then your DUTY to inform guests. It is customer service and just the right thing to do. Otherwise, as done here, it is sneaky, dishonest and very poor customer service and relations. They mentioned because they cant book in that short period or people who called prior got turned away so they lose business.....uuuhm nooooo, if you are an established business/hotel in a famous wine region then you should be getting several calls a day...let alone at least one! If your marketing is so poor that that is not occurring, that falls on YOU. Not Joe customer who has no idea what your policy is nor has anything to do with your poor marketing department. So the issue was bad enough...but the customer service and treatment throughout the process of cancelling made me realize this should not be a legitimate business. They were so rude, never called back etc. I had to call many times to resolve the issue and every time I was met with people who do not understand customer service or hospitality. Sad. We have stayed here a couple of times now. Very nice facility with a lounge and pool area. Staff has always been friendly. This time we stayed one night on the way south and one night on the way back. We love the fact it's right off 101 it's also close (about 20-30 minutes) to the coast and tons of wineries. Great for a few day stay which we have done previously. This time we pulled in for a couple of overnighters. Our site last week upon arrival was full of cigarette butts like at least 20 of them and 3 different dog poops. Which we promptly cleaned up. Once we cleaned up the site we enjoyed the facility. Our 2nd arrival this week we got a different site it was spotless. I mean not even a twig out of place. And I think we find the poop culprit. There was a little dog off leash running around all day and most of the evening. The workers that were around didn't seem to flinch about it so maybe it's allowed now. This would impact our next stay. Especially if we are going with other rigs as we have done before. read more

My husband and I have stayed at a variety of campgrounds. The Vines is quiet... next to the vineyards.... great place while passing through.

I'm removing a star from my previous 5 star review for a few reasons. I stayed here again this weekend (just stayed here for the first time 2 weeks ago). I was promised by the gentleman when I made my reservation in person that I would be placed back in the same spot (number 12) again. When I pulled in Friday, there was someone clearly already in number 12, so they moved me to number 17. When I asked why the agreement we made wasn't honored, the girl checking me in didn't seem to have a real answer for me. Number 17 ended up being fine, but what was the purpose of agreeing to have me in the same space if they never intended to honor the agreement? Also, Friday night around 9-10:30 pm there were a group of 4 teenage girls walking around the pool and lounge areas SCREAMING obscenities and harassing our family and other guests. We were trying to enjoy the fire pits, roasting marshmallows with our 2 young children and these girls would hide in the bushes and scream at the top of their lungs obscenities and other rude comments. I tried to follow them once so I could inform their families but they hid. It seemed like every time I turned around this weekend, the property hand was following our family around, but where was anyone when these girls were out being obnoxious? That's right, when we first arrived, the groundskeeper parked his golf cart right in front of our site while we were setting up for quite a while, then we went to the pool and there he was needing to check pool filters, when we walked our dog, there he was following us, when we went to the dog park, there he was again, every time! I am saddened by my most recent experience, because my first experience here was so excellent. I'm going to check out the other options in town next time. --------------------- I stayed here this weekend with my 2 sons and we had a great time! From the first phone call when I made the reservation, to when I left the parking lot to go home, the entire experience was fantastic. I told the gentleman who made my reservation over the phone that this would be my first time taking our trailer anywhere without my husband and that i was a bit anxious about backing it in myself. He offered to help me when I got there, which was a huge stress relief for me! I arrived around 4:50 pm for check in. The two women in the office who checked me in were very helpful and friendly. I explained that I might need assistance backing in, but I would try myself first. They moved me to a different space than I reserved because it was easier to back into. That was very nice of them to be so thoughtful. Fate would have it, I did end up having trouble backing in myself. A fellow camper saw me struggling and offered to back it in for me. IF that person sees this review, THANK YOU again! The sites are all very nice and pretty level. They come with a picnic table. They do not have fire pits, but the resort has several you can use over in the large outdoor seating area or I think you can even bring your own (not 100% sure though). The prices range from $58-$85 depending what type of site you get. I think the prices are reasonable considering the amenities of the resort. First of all, EVERYTHING was very clean and well maintained. The sites are nice and spacious. Some of the amenities are: 2 pools, a large hot tub, several fire pits, several BBQ pits, large outdoor seating areas, plenty of chairs by the pool, banquet room, bar and lounge, very nice and clean bathrooms and showers, all sites are full hook up with cable too, library, store on site and much more. Yes, as mentioned in the other reviews, there is freeway noise. There's nothing they can do about that, whether they build their wall higher or not. Bring earplugs if that would bother you that much, because it's worth the stay either way! My kids loved it here and staff and other guests alike treated us so wonderfully! We loved our stay so much, we already booked another stay for 2 weeks from now to take my husband back with us! Can't wait! read more

Mostly great. The biggest issue was electrical. It happened to be over 100 degrees over the weekend. One night the circuit breaker needed to be replaced. They were very quick and responsive when we let know about the issue. The next night we came back to our trailer and the circuit had tripped. Two nights in a row returning to a trailer that is over 100 degrees inside is a real bummer. As you can imagine the wine inside the trailer is not happy. The resort is very nice and well kept. All campers were clean and respectful throughout the resort. Other than the highway we found this place to be very quiet. If it wasn't for the electrical we would have given this place 5 stars, but the heat for us and it's affects on our expensive wine is unacceptable over multiple days. It's not the experience we were looking for but we will return. read more

A classy RV resort. 101 Freeway convenient. Clean, comfortable, and even elegant. There are two pools, a hot tub, and a large and small dog area, as well as a library, wine and beer bar, pool table, plenty of banquet and event space they used for a complimentary wine tasting and music event where musician Andy Scott gave us an amazing musical performance. Cindy and Bethany were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. read more

Given that we were passing through and not looking for a resort (all RV parks seem to be resorts in this area), we succumbed to paying big bucks for the night, opting to stay as close to the highway as possible to skimp on paying any more than we had to. One star off for the highway noise. We were ecstatic that we were able to take advantage of the Passport of America 50% off discount. The people working there could not have been any more pleasant and welcoming. Even the woman who kicked us out of the hot tub at closing time; we knew we were pushing our luck and were waiting to get the boot. The hot tub was hot and clean. The grounds are beautiful. I would expect the spots to be level for $50 (full price), but they weren't. They were fairly wide and had a square picnic table. There were two dog run areas. A tiny one for pocketbook dogs, and a bigger one for normal dogs. Cute store for all your beer, wine, basic groceries and ice cream needs. The shower and bathroom facilities deserve a paragraph all to their own. These rival any upscale hotel bathrooms. Music piped in and chandeliers. The shower rooms were all tile and marble walls with those huge round shower heads. read more

Jackie and I love this place. This is our second time staying here and we hope we will have many more visits. The resort is brand new and immaculate. The sites are roomy and easy to get in and out of which is comforting if you are new to RVing like we are. all the sites are nice level concrete pads with small trees or bushes on them. Hook ups are great with 20/30/50amp available. Erin and the Staff are super friendly and Michele was great and made us feel at home in the adult lounge. They really take care of their guests and did a fun BBQ and Ice cream Social for kids over the memorial day weekend. The resort is just minutes away from Paso Robles. We have been attempting to receive a $200 refund due us from this resort since early June 2019. We have made at least 6 calls to them and each time we are given an apology, told it will be returned to our credit card, yet no refund has been received. Each time they blame their parent company Sun Properties. Each time they also acknowledge that the refund is due us. I would steer clear of this particular property. one of three owned by Sun in Paso Robles Ca. They have a lot of negative reviews also. read more

We really enjoy staying at the Vines RV Resort. They are very accommodating and the staff is super friendly. However, it is right off the highway and the noise can be an issue....they are building a wall so hopefully that will help! Also, it is very pricey. We stayed 3 nights in a premium site and it cost us $260. The location is really great. They give good advise on what wineries to visit. They also offer a happy hour in their beautiful bar and we really enjoyed that! We of course will be back next year! read more

This RV resort is right next to the freeway. The noise was very loud. We hardly slept then the parking areas are close together and the large RV next to us ran their generator for about a half hour. When we arrived we were told by the desk clerk that we were keeping her from leaving even though we were there at 5:45. Not worth the money for a standard parking space. I Would not recommend this place. You can get the same overnight sleep at a rest stop for free. read more

Just spent 2 nights at this RV resort in a on sight Tiny Home. We had been evacuated from Oak Shores late in the afternoon with no place to stay. Called the office after hours and the manager , Cindy answered the phone and saved the day. She had 2 houses available since we had another couple traveling with us. She was great, held the houses with no info besides our word. Keys were waiting for us . When we got there , she was at the units after turning lights on so we would feel welcome. Cindy and the place are both great! The tiny houses aren't tiny and are better then most hotels. I would recommend this place anytime you are in Paso Robles. The RV sites look great too. Vines RV Resort is a very nice RV destination. Though located right on Highway 101--some of the cottages and RV slots are literally 20 feet from the freeway--the owners have done a beautiful job of facilities and cleanliness. Why three starts? Here's why: I rented one of the cottages, which are in fact very nicely appointed single wide mobile homes. Advertised as having a fireplace and television. The fireplace, which didn't work, was an electrical one and the TV remotes didn't work and the few TV stations that came through were grainy and so murky that it couldn't be viewed. One TV didn't even work at all. The cottage had ants in the kitchen. Upside: good hot water and shower, nicely appointed kitchen (work around the ants) and nice bedding. Another reason for only 3 starts--the work out room situation. I work out daily and have a set of travel equipment I bring if a place doesn't have a work out room. I called ahead and was told the work out room was open. However, when I arrived and asked about it, I was told it would most likely be closed because of the rain. Uh? Well, it turns out the only entrance to the work out room is an outdoor entrance through the pool complex and they close it all down in the rain, even just walking to the work out room. Seems a bit extreme and why have a work out room if you can't get to it? This might seem minor--but this was important to me and several other folks in RVS, whose only place to exercise and stretch is in such rooms. Thus, 3 stars. Wish I could do more, because this is basically a nice place, but the lack of attention to detail is a problem. read more

Pleasant resort - easy access, seemed well maintained. However, the information provided when we checked in was not correct - due to the COVID-19 situation, the pool was open from 9 - 4:30, not until 10:00 p.m as stated. Also, the restroom/shower facilities near the pool were on the pool schedule, not 24 hours as printed. Add to that, on Thursday, 7/16, that restroom facility was closed for repairs at 4:00 p.m. When trying the other restroom (about 1/3 mile away), found it was closed for cleaning. We were informed that the restroom in the pool area was closed because the water heater was not working and a part was needed. Why was it necessary to close the entire area and not just the shower section? There seemed to be a lack of communication - when we notified the office that the restroom at the other end of the park was also closed they did not seem to be aware. It would help to have correct information on brochures and flyers - a label could be used if it is too expensive to print correct data. read more

Proximity to 101 takes away one star. The place is immaculate and quiet. It has a nice wine and beer lounge with a pool table and music. Nice dog area too. They have really cute little cabins you can stay in if you don't have an RV. Bathrooms and laundry facilities are spotless. More for adults than their sister property next to the water park but then again the other is adjacent to EOS which is nice. Trade offs. Both are 4 star and nice. read more

Stop there and spend at least a couple of nights. RV Resort doesn't say enough about this classy RV park. They have everything you need, they are as helpful as one could expect, and their facility speaks for itself. Paved roads, concrete sites, wide enough for any type of RV and all of the utilities and amenities are excellent. Staff is some of the best we have experienced all summer. I did not stay, but I was a hired photographer at this campgrounds. I was never paid for my services after sending photos, and the owner claimed to be unsatisfied. I am a college student and I feel very taken advantage of! So do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else where they don't take advantage of people. read more

We enjoyed our stay at The Vines RV Resort. The grounds were clean and well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were immaculate. The staff were beyond professional. When we initially called to book our stay. The resort had no availability. Bephanie, placed us on the waiting list and promised to call us if there were any cancellations. We received a call two days prior to the day we initially attempted to book informing us of an opening. I requested a space away from the freeway and Bephanie was more than accommodating. She made our maiden stay worth while, we will definitely be returning. Only complaint that I have is that there is a major fly infestation. Bring fly traps and fly swatters and your stay will be great. read more

We stayed at this RV park over Memorial Day weekend. The park is clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The staff is friendly, the bathrooms are spotless, and you don't even have to walk your garbage to the dumpster, because staff will pick your trash up for you. The pools are crystal clean and the hot tub is HOT! Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Definitely A+ service all the way around. The reasons that I don't give this park a full five stars are as follows: 1) You cannot have wood fires, even if you have a covered fire pit. This is a county rule, but it does make it less fun, since I prefer to cook my steaks on an oak fire. 2) You aren't allowed to hang your wet bathing suits or towels outside. While I appreciate that the park doesn't want their place to look like a low-class trailer trash heap, wet suits and towels don't dry very quickly in my RV shower. I'd much rather hang everything outside in the sun to dry for 20 minutes and be able to put on a dry clothes for my next swim. 3) The facility is very close to the 101 freeway, so there's quite a bit of traffic noise. We stayed on the side furthest from the highway and weren't bothered, but I can see how sites closer to the road would be quite noisy. read more

Outstanding new RV resort just north of Paso Robles, CA. Great facilities, the showers are outstanding! You have a 6' sink/counter with a huge mirror adjacent to a private walk-in shower. 4 washers and 4 dryers in the laundry and great pool. The people are great and very accommodating. They do long term stays so we will be staying here for a while. read more

Spent two nights at the Vine this past weekend during the Autumn Wine Festival and enjoyed every moment. The staff is beyond helpful, the grounds are super CLEAN, and one lacks nothing whilst staying here. The showers were unbelievable, along with 2 pools, a spa, and ballrooms. Twice I needed a little assistance and both times there was a staff person there willing to assist. We definitely will go back when in Paso. read more

This place was fantastic! Nice new facilities and very well kept. We rented one of five little vacation cottages - #54 and LOVED it! It was small and cozy, and was perfect for the six of us - better than separate hotel rooms in the fact that we could all be together and watch a DVD on the sofa, and all wake up together in one place. We bought goodies from the Saturday morning farmers market at the park downtown, and enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast in our cottage thanks to the local organic growers. Right off the freeway, it was located just minutes away from the wineries and downtown shops & restaurants. We were even able to get a discount for some wine tasting fees at local wineries by referencing our stay at Vines RV Resort and showing the business card. We really wanted to enjoy the nice jacuzzi / pool facility and lounge with pool table, but we were all so tired from a great day running from winery to winery we defaulted to staying in the room. One downside was a bit of freeway noise at night because we preferred to leave some windows open. But there was really a lot of peace and quiet at the unit. We were so pleased, and the front desk staff were so nice and helpful as well. We didn't have an RV, but didn't need one to have a great vacation experience. This park is new, in the heart of the Paso Robles wine area, super clean, well maintained, well managed with an amazing staff. It has a fenced grass dog run, level concrete sites and is the only park I am aware of that has a beer/wine bar on site. By far the worst park manager ever! We were experiencing a constant problem with a barking dog, and other neighbors in the park made us aware that the dog was the park managers dog. They too were bothered by the incessant barking. We registered a complaint, and the barking continued for a few days. I offered to walk the dog but was met with an attitude by the manager. Finally, the barking stopped because the manager kept the dog at work site. I hesitated writing a negative review but flippant attitude really bothered me. read more

This was our first stay at Vines. The ladies at the desk were friendly and didn't mind sharing their favorite wineries with us as well as a few complimentary tasting tickets to some local wineries. We have stayed in the Vines' sister resort (Wine Country RV Park) many times and wanted a couple nights there to end our recent trip to the southwest. They were booked, so we came here. This location is still on the new side, so nothing is really grown up yet, but the grounds and facilities are beautiful and spotlessly clean. As others have said there is a lot of freeway noise but it didn't bother us at all because we live backed up to a freeway at home! We barely noticed it. This is, of course, not really camping but it is glamping at its finest. The sites are large and spacious and everything is in good repair. That being said, the rates are hideously expensive but I am sure it keeps the riff-raff out. The one gripe I have about this place is the showers: they must have installed every single water restrictor on the market in the showers. I got ready to shower, turned on the water, and what came out was a bare trickle. Thinking I had a clogged shower head, I re-dressed and moved to another one. No luck, it worked the same way. Now, I live in CA and know the recent water shortages have put a kink in everybody's hose. But there is a point where it goes from being conservative to downright ridiculous. When it takes 15 minutes to rinse the shampoo out of my hair, it's ridiculous. Because of this water-saving attempt, people will now spend 5 times longer under the dribble, trying to get the soap off everything. How does that save water? I understand the need, but the means are a bit excessive. Other than that, they do a good job of keeping the place clean and inviting. read more

The staff at the park are wonderful. We stayed with a big group with a mixture of cabins and trailers, and the staff was very helpful and friendly to all of us. The bartender, Aaron, was amazing. None of our group was bothered by freeway noise, and we were on the side of the freeway. The park and amenities were very clean and well kept. read more

Fully recommend this place if you like calm and low key. It was a nice short get away from where we live so that is nice. No one bothers you. Bathrooms are clean. Showers are single with closing and locking doors. Pools and hot tub was well kept. My only thing that prevents me from giving it higher was there really isn't much for kids to do other than use the pool. Other RV parks had play areas, basketball courts etc. You might want to stay as far away from the highway spots as possible. I would come back for a three-day weekend. The office staff is nice and there is an adult lounge. We took my daughter and friends for her birthday and the girls had fun. Again clean and quiet! read more

Wine country RV resort is where you want to stay. We have been rving for years. This place was our last resort. The web page looked great so we took a chance. The expensive sites (away from the freeway) are about 200 feet from US-101. Yes!! that means the cheap sites are about 30 feet from cars and big rigs going 65mph+ with no barriers. This should be illegal. The employees were nice however we were approached by a woman employee (possible manager) she was rude and ridiculous. She felt the need to remind us about common rv park rules we were already following. We don't have kids however I noticed the small pool was the only pool that allows kids. In closing poor location and horrible management. read more

I'm surprised by these reviews. Friends of the owners maybe? This is the noisiest RV resort I've ever been to. There is no sound wall to separate you from the 101 freeway. We paid extra to be away from the freeway and were so disappointed when we got there to find we were just across the driveway from the RVs that were backed up to the 101. They have a tiny pool for families and it was packed on the busy weekend. So crowded in fact my daughter had tears rolling down her cheeks as she was so reluctant to get in. The huge adult pool had no one in it. We went back later that evening to go in the spa and were greeted by a grumpy old man who said it was against the law for them to go in since they weren't 14. He was really rude and scared my kids. He told us he didn't work there, but we found out that he did. I felt the resort catered to adults and not families. It was new and clean but no shade trees or areas for dogs to go to the bathroom except at the "dog park". Trash had to be left in front of our RV to be picked up once a day as there were no public dumpsters. There was no place to put our bagged dog waste and since it was hot it really smelled. I had to walk it over to the restroom to throw it away. If was so noisy day and night from the freeway we didn't want to go outside and eat. In summary, this place is too noisy, not kid friendly and no shade. read more
