I gave this place 2 stars for a very simple reason, service. I use to order exclusively from them but the service has gone downhill fast. On one occasion they told me 30 minutes to pick up a pizza, great! I arrive 30 minutes later and then wait an additional 20 minutes for my pizza. Sorry we are busy, I get that but then don't quote me 30 for a pizza. Very next visit I arrive to pick up my pizza and they gave it to someone else. Awesome! I stood around for 20 minutes waiting until they figured it out. No free pizza just free delivery. Boo! Pizza is a good, prices are too high to have to deal with poor service, there are other places. read more

My buddy would bring this stuff to work all the time. The pizza by the Slice is definitely filling and comes with a liter of pop. The first time I had it, I was disappointed only because I ate so much pizza I couldn't eat the planned lunch I brought to work that day. That's a good thing. Pizza was giant and thick. My wife and I tried their half pan of wings. We will definitely be making it a weekly thing. Giant wings, really good. Not that breaded crap most pizza places have. Vini's pizza is our go to pizza place when we are craving a slice. For less than 5 bucks you can get a slice a pizza (cheese, sausage, or pepperoni) that is big enough to be a meal and a liter bottle of soda or water. They are always busy making pizza but always very nice and you are in and out quickly. Love this place. read more

Went with the $4 slice and pop deal, and was very happy with the way things went. The pizza had a great crust and a big taste, and just the slice by itself filled me up for lunch. Made the mistake of having their pan pizza delivered one day. It must've weighed 15 lbs and not in a hearty, Lou's way. The crust was thick, unevenly cooked, and flavorless and the toppings were sloppy and low quality. Couldn't finish more than a slice. Compared with other pizza places in the area this place is expensive. They have good pizza its just over priced. I tried their special it a good deal but they keep reheating these real big pizzas until they sell all of it. Love the single slices but there is one thing to be aware of, their peak hours of making slices is 11 AM until 2 PM so any time you get a slice after that it may have been sitting their for a while as they have to get their catering and delivery orders in. We have happily ordered from Vini's to support local business many times with no issues. This time, we called and were on the phone for literally 15 minutes trying to place an order for 3 things (2 pizzas and a pasta dish). We asked to sub Alfredo sauce for regular sauce - they said they can't do that for a pizza (odd, but ok). We have members in our family with dietary restrictions so we ordered one pizza without cheese. Then, we ordered a pasta dish. Whoever was taking the orders and working on 9/7/2020 at 5:45 pm was not helpful - the manager especially, which was shocking since we were patient for 15 minutes and then simply asked for our order to be repeated and the ENTIRE order was wrong. Guys, I'm not saying we were on hold for 15 minutes. I was talking to a LIVE HUMAN who I think was just new or something and he had me repeat myself over 10 times. Which was fine until the manager got on the phone and said "good" and hung up after already taking our credit card when due to exhaustion from the phone, we threatened to cancel. I hope nothing bad happens with our credit card data. I know it's tough times and we were so patient and kind and trying to give this company repeated business, but I was shocked a manager spoke to us this way and didn't apologize or anything for mistreating us. Have lost a lifetime customer unfortunately for them, and very disappointed in the experience. I hope they learn to appreciate customers and treat all with respect in the future. My bf turned me onto Vini's one night when we had been having the longest day ever and just needed something quick and yummy. I had driven past Vini's a hundred times on my way to work and never eaten there, but all it took was one trip and I was hooked. Vini's has turned into comfort food for us. When we're having a really bad long day we grab a $4 special (Jumbo slice and a liter of pop) and just veg out in the car and crank the radio up and scarf down our slices and feel much better afterward. Ordered for pick-up, the lady repeated back exactly what I ordered. However when I arrived to pick up my pizza the crust was wrong, and half was suppose to be mushroom and bacon but that only covered a third of the pizza. I also had to wait an ADDITIONAL 20 minutes for some piece of crap I didn't even order. I called the manager to let him know the order was wrong, he could careless and was absolutely no help. They have some of the best pizza around. It can be a hit or miss sometimes I guess it depends on guy cooking it. But still 9 out of 10 for the most part they get it right. It's a must stop for me when I'm working in the area. I usually get their jalapeño special. The service is quick if your just stopping in for a slice. Even for the lunch rush during the day. I have never in my life wished I could give a negative star rating until now. We ordered 2 pizzas from here for delivery. One was a deep dish pepperoni and the other was supposed to be a thin crust pepperoni and sausage. First of all, we live right down the street, less then 5 minutes away and it took almost 2 full hours to arrive. When it did get here it was cold and both boxes had been smashed down on top of the pizzas so the cheese was completely stuck to the top of the cardboard. The thin crust had no pepperoni on it at all. Not a single slice. The delivery driver couldn't find our apartment despite the fact that I was on the phone with him, walking him through the directions literally step by step. When he did finally get to our door we asked for change and the guy actually said that he didn't have any because all his other orders were credit cards that night. WHAT!?!! ARE YOY KIDDING ME??!!! Because he didnt have a single dollar in his pocket for change even though we specified at time of order that we were paying in cash, he ended up walking away with a $16 tip on 2 small pizzas! We called to complain but whoever answered the phone just put us on hold and never came back. We called a second time to complain and were hung up on by the same person. They most definitely STOLE from us by not giving us change and refused to speak to us let alone rectify the issue. So we paid $40 for 2 small, ice cold, smashed pizzas with no cheese due to it having hardened on the top of the box. Not only will we never ever eat here again, but we have made it our personal mission to make sure no one else will either. I have successfully stopped 8 people from ordering here and I have no intention of stopping. I have never done anything like that before, and if it was just a food quality issue I wouldn't bother but to be honest the fact that they quite literally robbed us and then refused to do anything about it was not only unacceptable but downright unethical and shadey. We love their pizza! Great Thin Crust, very traditional you can never go wrong with pizza here. It sometimes takes a bit to get delivery on the weekends but that is to be expected with a popular place. But it always arrives hot and delicious. This place used to be a Palatine staple. I've been getting pizza here for as long as I can remember. I'm finally done. Their pizza gets sloppier by the year. There's absolutely no dedication from the staff to make things better. I'm not sure if Vinny is still alive but I'm guessing he's lost all his taste buds, is retired and too old or has turned the business over to a new generation of entitled family members who are enjoying riding out their success' of the 90s/00s while they run the business to the ground. I hope someone gets to them because there's so much they could do. For now, I'll be taking my business to Wayne's, Pizza Bella, Papa Severios or JLs. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one and their overpriced pies. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because if you purchase a whole pizza, it's on the expensive side. Pizza good. Service awful. I called from a high school tournament at 11 to place my order. By the time I could break away from my duties and call at 12:30, I was told that the computer lost my information and they couldn't find me. They said that the pizzas were made and the driver would head straight out to deliver the pizzas. I called back twice before the driver arrived at 1:15. This place has the worst food handling practices. You people just don't know. I used to work here. Not only is the food over priced, raw chicken is left in card board boxes on the floor in the back next to chemicals. Ribs and chicken are defrosted in the same sinks as dirty dishes as well as on the floor. Food handling gloves are not worn at all. The hamburger meat is also cooked on out dated non cleaned burners. Great thin crust, sauce is well seasoned and they use quality ingredients as toppings. Be careful when ordering stuffed (sauce on top), some of the young girls (least favorite part of vinnis-the girls sometimes don't pay full attention to orders) mistake it for double dough. When the incorrect pizza arrived, i made a call and the manager, without hesitation, started the correct stuffed pizza and sent it over free of charge.
