This once great place has fallen off a cliff. Burnt on the bottom, soggy on top. They haven't cleaned their ovens in 20 years. Almost inedible.

I came here today and ended up getting a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was a thinner crust and oily. $22 for the pie and pay cash to save on the credit card tax that it seems all these places are doing now. It wasn't the best pizza, but it wasn't the worst. The place looks the same as it did back in the 90s when I first went there.

Being a Lifelong Jersey pizza eater I don't know why everyone loves and raves about this pizza? I would never serve slices that well done, it was so hard I couldn't eat the crust. I only went here because of the reviews, it was Pi day, and I needed to eat. They claim that they have the "best pizza in NJ" on their soda cups , well maybe in Wayne, NJ because that is a pretty bold claim. Maggie's across the street serves a really good, comparable thin crust pizza. Maybe the regulars are served differently but I was not even welcomed and many others didn't know where to order/pick up. I really had to laugh when the young man behind the counter called a not much older gentleman SPORT! Lol! As another reviewer stated the decor is reminiscent of the 70's restaurants. Also from where I was seated there was an off odor coming from the back of their counter/ refrigerator. They could do well with a deep cleaning.

This is a MUST pizza spot! If you're looking for good NJ pizza this is the place. I just moved to Wayne a week ago and I was recommended to come here for a pie. I called on a Friday late afternoon and I could tell they were busy because I was put on hold as soon as I was greeted. You have the option for pick up or delivery. I chose pick up. (Faster) We ordered a large pepperoni pie and the zucchini sticks. The zucchini sticks come with a side of marinara sauce. Both of the items we ordered were amazing! The pizza tasted like old school pizza and I love that. Because we ordered pepperoni and they were very generous with the portion it was a little oily. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying the pizza. I just took a napkin to soak some of it up. The zucchini sticks were crispy and well seasoned. Overall, really happy with my order and would definitely be back!

This is an amazing pizzeria. So many selections and the crust is amazing. Even their plain cheese slice was to die for.

Delicious buffalo wing pizza. The Sicilian is ok - missing the yeasty rise. Overall decent pizza experience. You will not leave hungry.

Their pizzas are good. I don't know about their other menu items. They have RC Cola on tap. And they use ice chips, not ice cubes.

Mussels with a Vino bianco, herbs and filone toast for the appetizer and the Ricotta Cavatelli (alla mema) with broken meatballs and sausage sugo. Good grief the vino bianco/herb cream sauce on the mussels was incredible! Really! I could not get enough of it. I don't believe we've ever seen mussels on their menu, but man! These were phenomenal! The only complaint would be that there were not enough of the mussels. The ricotta cavatelli was also amazing... as are all of Viaggio's pasta dishes and sauces. Gelato stawberry/maple gelato was maybe the best gelato I've ever had. Not sure if they have this on their 'normal' menu, but if they do, I'm going to need some more. Sadly, once we 'dove' into the food... we forgot to take pictures. :-( Maybe next time! Just go. You won't be disappointed.

Stefano's is an Italian restaurant located in Wayne, New Jersey. I've passed by this restaurant…read moremany times but this is the first time I stopped. After a quick search on the internet, I noticed the restaurant got mixed reviews. Most customers complaining about the owner, service and prices. I also noticed that Stefano's serves pizza, cannoli, gelato and a variety of Italian entrees. Always willing to try a cannoli and gelato, I stopped for a quick treat. Wow, they had so many varieties of cannoli and gelato to choose from. The cannoli I selected was delicious with a crispy tasty shell and sweat ricotta filling. They claim that the cannoli are made fresh everyday, I would not argue with that. They are reasonably priced at $4.50. The gelato flavors were tempting and on my next stop I'll have to try their gelato. I took the cannoli out to my truck, turned on some music, chilled out and enjoyed my treat. Sometimes I enjoy my truck more than sitting in a restaurant. I never met the owner nor experienced the service. In my opinion the restaurant could use some interior refreshing.

They do not pride themselves on hospitality, it's more like hostility and indifference. Originally made the point that life is too short to suffer at a place like this, given the wide variety of Italian restaurants in the area with better food, prices, service and most importantly, owners that genuinely treat customers fairly, even (and especially) when the establishment is clearly in the wrong. Read through all the reviews and see the common theme throughout many people's experiences with the same shock at the unregulated anger the owner directs toward a customer that expresses when the slightest problem with food quality, slow service, or overcharging. There was absolutely nothing personal about the original review, and nothing fake - good money was wasted on mediocre food and terrible service on too many occasions with an angry owner, and the review was just an honest assessment of a string of horrible experiences. That's how reviews work - they relate the good as well as the bad elements of an establishment and share these honest reactions with the community. What's truly disheartening is to see the owners attempting to pontificate after the fact that the review is somehow fabricated because they can't accept the reality that they're being called out (as they should be) for mistreating customers disrespectfully in a regular basis. I would never try to speak up in the moment at this place, as we've witnessed the owner literally berating customers and ruining an evening out for even mildly complaining on more occasions than I'd like to remember. At this place, their motto is "the customer is always wrong." It truly took a lot to have to write the original review and now to follow up to the owner's response, because they're anything but receptive to customer feedback. It's truly incredulous that the owner responded in this manner just because they want to promote their business. Smart diners will see through this. So take their advice if you dare, go ahead, make your own decision as they try to suggest, and work up the courage to try it out and ignore this and every other negative review ... but brace yourself, and as it's said, "buyer beware!" Just don't say you haven't been warned.
