The one that almost made my mind collapse was the trout. I normally don't bother with trout as it's usually kinda lackluster. The trout Vanessa made for us at Mother's was hands down one of the best pieces of fish I've ever eaten... and I ate my way up the California coast for 30 years. Get in now while it's still possible to get a table. This is as good as it gets. We got the honor of being food nerds when Chef came to the table and talked sauce with us! Their location, situated at the end of the strip, made finding parking a breeze. The staff was helpful in the selection process and came back to the table to ensure everyone was enjoying it. Even after we settled on a Boudreaux Blanc, the staff, hearing I wasn't the biggest fan of whites, came back to offer me a sample of a red he thought I may enjoy. He was 100% right. They have ample outdoor seating which we utilized this evening. Luckily this evening, the villages 4th of July festivities were also happening so we had some live music to enjoy as well. Finally, while they put together a tasty charcuterie board themselves, they also team up with other village establishments to offer more food options that can be delivered right to your table at Vintage 38. Our server was very kind, great atmosphere in the place as well. We ordered a side of the potatoes and they came out nice and hot. Unfortunately, both of our Eggs Benedict flights were lukewarm at best, from the first bite. My date made a comment to the server and she offered to reheat. We initially declined but within a minute changed our mind. Our server was understanding and quickly brought over an extra flight (which I saw her bring from the heating lamps). This plate was also the same temperature. I really don't like to leave neutral or negative reviews, but it's unfortunate to spend money and have a less than par experience on the food we were looking forward to eating. We did take a small box to go and the crab cake heated up later was very delicious, but just not the same as if we had been given a hot meal to start at the restaurant. I've eaten here for dinner and was super impressed with the serving size, but I don't think I'd come back for brunch.
