I've been a follower of Victoria's yoga classes, off and on over the last several years, and was super excited when I heard her and her husband were opening up a yoga studio + wine bar, right here in Clairemont. The yoga studio is a separate room within the establishment. Nice, large, clean studio with all the yoga accessories and tools (blocks blankets, straps, etc.) in one corner of the room. Yogis has a separate restroom access from the restaurant side. Nice. The dining room is huge, plenty of space and tables for small and large groups. Bar tables and bar top options are available too. I may have heard there was also an outdoor patio (out back?), But we didn't get a chance to investigate. I was fortunate enough to have taken a Vinyasa class, led by Victoria, during their soft opening. I've always enjoyed her classes, in person and virtual. I see that they offer a variety of classes as part of their regular schedule, and often see the promoted advanced workshops. I plan to check out more classes after I buy a pass, so for now this is about their food/wine bar side of the biz! Yesterday, we finally got to stop in and try their food and wine. It was happy hour, so a friend decided to get a bottle of white to share. My boyfriend and I both ordered the sandwiches off the menu (one was pork belly, the other brisket). BOTH WERE SO GOOD! Bread - nice crust, soft insides. Meat - SO TENDER. My boyfriend seriously decided whether he wanted to order one To go. We gave in and ordered the cheesecake instead. Also SO GOOD. Basque cheesecake, with cinnamon whipped cream, berries and walnuts. Yum. Their draft beer selection is small, but features all local San Diego options. All awesome options. I didn't get to try different wines this time, but based on the group we were with.. everyone was happy with the range and variety of the wine selections and prices. Brunch flow with Sam was absolutely amazing, I loved everything about her instruction and the ambiance of the studio. You do need to bring your own mat or you can rent one for a few dollars extra. (Also the brunch flow came with a free mimosa with food which is a huge bonus) no complaints about this place at all, a awesome concept run but some pretty cool people! I had the crab sandy (always on the menu) and it was delicious. My son tried the Crab Cake mini Benny special. The poached egg was absolutely perfect. Vinya is just what Clairemont needed: a community hub with excercise classes and a high class wine bar. I've been to a bunch of the yoga classes and the community is very open to people who are new to yoga and people of all levels. There are a ton of classes every day of the week and the class attendees are all very friendly. Brunch service was fancy and super delicious. We had an avocado toast with a poached egg and a blue crab fried rice. This is a fantastic neighborhood spot, like nothing else in Clairemont. Please check it out! read more

A friend wanted to do a yoga class and when we showed up for class, they mentioned that the new student special for a week of unlimited classes was the same as a drop in so we signed up for the week! I'm not very knowledgeable in yoga so I tried a bunch of yoga classes: Brunch flow: ask them for a mimosa if you're getting brunch afterwards! Deep stretch: this was the most popular class I think because the instructor is charismatic. We went into stretch poses and try to hold or reach for a deeper stretch Budokon: very active and high energy. No holding poses but a constant flow of moving (and some jumping) Restorative w/ sound healing: very relaxing, I've had a similar class before where we called it structured napping. I think someone was snoring in my class! Rise and shine flow: there were multiple instructors for these but they were all very nice and these had the smallest classes since it was at 6:30am so instructors could give more personalized feedback or adjust to students. We also ate at the restaurant a couple times. My favorites being the brussel sprouts and mushroom toast. The cheesecake was also delicious! And I loved the cold brew coffee! The venue is pretty spacious and I never had to worry about finding parking. read more

I just went to my first yoga class at Vinya and had an amazing experience. Victoria, the owner, was there to greet all of us when we checked in for our hatha class. She described Vinya as a community hub for Clairemont, which made it feel so comfy and welcoming. She also mentioned that in addition to serving wine/food in the evening, it serves as a work/study space in the daytime since it's pretty quiet and they serve coffee/tea. Definitely coming here for some focus/caffeine time! Ally(sp?) taught our hatha class, which was perfectly paced and had a sound bath that was healing. I was really impressed with the quality of instruction. In general I felt so refreshed by my whole experience here and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. read more

I didn't die...honstely, we came here for trivia and food and had a great experience. But let me explain, I am allergic to nuts, so I asked the waiter if I could get the Baked Brie without the nuts on it. Of course that was no problem and I enjoyed a very tasty meal. The melted cheese on some fresh bread with a hint of honey plus figs and dates was a very delicious combo. Our friends have been regulars at Vinya Vino + Vinyasa and invited us to join for Trivia night (on Tuesdays). We didn't know about this place but so glad we found it. This is the best little hidden gem in the area! The food is amazing, I personally love the Chicken Pesto, and the choices of wine are never-ending! They have a cute little area with local arts and goodies for sale and you can't beat the amount of free parking. this place would get more stars if the owners were more friendly. Every time I visit I see the owners talking negatively about the customers right in front of the them. Measuring pours wouldn't be so bad if the owners didn't talk about how much you tip them right in front of you.
