Yeah, OK I am completely done with this place. We've been on vacation and haven't frequented as often as we normally do. Maybe 6x from our last visit. Things have not I'm proved, we used to really love it here. We are 100% done with it. Went for breakfast this morning with another couple, who it was their first time here. They couldn't believe the lack of service and professionalism. Whoever is the owner should really be present more often or assign a manager who holds standards. We ordered 4 breakfasts and coffees. Again, no service. We all finished our 1st cup of coffee before any server approached us to take our order. I got up and again, the servers were around the corner joking around doing what appeared to be nothing. I asked if I can get more coffee for the whole table and we are also ready to order. One of the guys said he would get our server. time went by without coffee or service. I got. up a 2nd time and the same 2 guys were in the corner joking. I didn't ask, I told them to do their job and take our order. after that, every time one of them came to our table it was nothing but attitude and it was obvious we were a nuisance for them. we weren't difficult, no special requests, we just wanted our coffees refilled and our order taken. Our friends kept asking us why we liked this place. And honestly, I agree with them. The staff here need to be re-trained. We won't be back. I really wanted to like The Violet Rooster because the atmosphere is actually quite nice. However, the food quality left a lot to be desired. The French fries were clearly frozen and were served slightly cool, as if they hadn't been fully reheated. I also ordered the French toast, which unfortunately was undercooked--soft and raw in the center--and completely overwhelmed with cinnamon and sugar. It felt like they were trying to mask the poor preparation. On top of that, I was concerned about hygiene. The staff preparing food--including adding final touches like butter and syrup--weren't wearing gloves. In my opinion, anyone handling food, especially when going back and forth between the kitchen and the dining area, should be wearing gloves. It just didn't feel sanitary. Overall, while the ambiance was pleasant, the food and lack of food safety standards made it a disappointing experience. I hope they take steps to improve both the quality and cleanliness. read more

I'll be honest, we came with no high expectations of this place other than it looked like a typical diner with fun and quirky decor. I was so wrong. First and foremost the wait time was not bad at all, they told us 45 and it felt less than that. Our server was great and thorough and prompt! Thank you Trevor! The coffee. Was so good. It looks like your normal diner coffee in a mug from a coffee pot but the taste was so strong and delicious I regret not taking some to go and the refills were free! All our orders came out perfectly and together. I love when they serve everyone at the same time. I ordered the Fetta Me Betta scramble, (the names of the food on the menu were hilarious and I loved the quirkiness of this place overall) I LOVED it and inhaled everything, they have this spicy ghost pepper ketchup at the table that went perfectly with the homestyle potatoes. The salsa that comes with the egg scramble was even better and the rye toast was perfectly buttered. That plate was so delicious!!! I can't believe I ate everything in general the portions are huge!! I'm sitting here writing this and literally can't believe how incredible this little spot is, it's everything you want out of a traditional diner but with flavor and character!! I am a fan of savory breakfasts so I was looking for a new place to try. I had seen that they had biscuits and gravy on their menu and it was the main reason to try it. I decided to try their Big country ($17.49) which had the choice of eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and meat of your choice. I chose their ham steak and their loaded hasbrowns for an upgrade price. The sourdough toast arrived nicely buttered and not too crispy. Their biscuit was dry and dense, the gravy was ok not too salty but it had a nice consistency with bits of sausage. The loaded hashbrowns was covered in melted cheese and sauteed onions. The ham steak was ok but I wouldn't get it again. The restaurant has outdoor seating and tables were filled inside. Came on a Monday morning which wasn't too busy. Came with my coworkers. Was able to get seated right away. So you get to choose where you sit, they will come and give you the menu. The server was new, first day on the Job but was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and well decorated. We got Mimosas. Which a pitcher serves about 8 drinks. First off I wanna note that Connor our server was an absolute delight! His attention to detail and consistent checks to make sure we were good and that our drinks were full. I got a breakfast burrito that was super tasty with a cup of fruit that Connor mentioned is chopped fresh daily! I usually don't like getting fruit because a lot of the times it's soggy at breakfast places, but I truly was impressed! I do have a friend that is vegan who did not have as many options as anticipated as it seems the menu is tailored more towards vegetarians than actual vegans. Nevertheless, they have an avocado toast option. They offer tofu and vegan patties with a southwest omelette being their only vegan options. Just went to VR for the first time with my hubby and 2 babies. It was about a 30 minute wait but once we were in we were so happy we waited. The service was SO nice. There is a restaurant named Johnnie's Pastrami in LA. The basic breakfast was decent. However, my pastrami sandwich was not too good. No mustard on the regular bread and I had a green salad instead of fries. The ranch dressing was kind of watery also. There was tomato on the pastrami sandwich, a first that I have seen. The coffee was served room temperature, food itself was ok although they brought me carnitas instead of chicken, which is a big issue when you don't eat pork. What really stood out, and not in a pleasant way, was the service. It was the action of one of the waitresses (I'm going to say she might be the owner). From the moment we sat down until the moment we got the check, the time that passed was exactly 22 minutes. Yes, I checked because I was in shock. She handed us the check saying "no rush", but that saying doesn't negate the action, the action has already been done. I get it, it's busy, but you can't even let me enjoy a nice brunch with my family on a holiday for more than 10 minutes? And yes it was about 10 minutes because there was the menu time, order time, water time, then food arriving time. Don't you think that's ridiculous? You got what you wanted, mission accomplished. My favorite was the breakfast burrito. I've had so many different breakfast burritos in my life but never with chorizo.
